The Saudis have a longstanding practice of spiriting Saudi citizens accused of crimes in the United States (and Canada) out of this country. After all, what respect should Muslims have for Infidel laws? But the U.S. government should realize that whatever the pragmatic considerations may be for continuing the sham alliance with Saudi Arabia, this is not the way a friend and ally behaves.

“Man suspected in shooting of motorist near Georgetown thought to have fled country,” by Noelle McGee, The News-Gazette, January 29, 2019:
DANVILLE — Vermilion County authorities believe a Georgetown man who’s wanted in an incident earlier this month where a passing motorist was struck by a stray bullet has fled to the Middle East.
Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Hartshorn said an arrest warrant with a $10 million bond has been issued for Rod Al-Ruwaily, 20, in connection with the Jan. 16 shooting of a woman who was hit while driving on Illinois 1 north of Georgetown….
The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. and stemmed from a dispute at a residence in the area.
Hartshorn said investigators determined that Al-Ruwaily fired multiple shots toward a vehicle in the driveway of his residence in the 1700 block of North Main Street, one of which hit an unrelated vehicle heading south on the state highway.
A 28-year-old female in the passing vehicle was struck by a bullet. Hartshorn said she remains in the hospital, recovering from her injuries.
He added that investigators think Al-Ruwaily fled the country after the incident and is currently in Saudi Arabia.

…………….
President Bush initiated this practice after 9/11.

I don’t know if he initiated it, but he certainly practiced it. Several prominent Saudi aristocrats who were top-level diplomats befriended and gave financial support to the 9/11 hijackers were permitted to leave the US on their private jet a few hours after 9/11 when all other air traffic was grounded. They endured an hour or so of friendly questioning by the FBI. Incidentally, the FBI head at the time was … (drum rolls) … Robert Mueller.
Pulling back slightly, the US is going to be susceptible to Saudi Arabia as long as the US engages in deficit spending. The Saudis buy our extra dollars and ship oil to us. If the US government truly upsets the Saudis, they can cash in their treasury bonds and derail the US government printing press money. No debtor country can be independent.

This much predates Bush. The Saudis have done this whenever they have been able to get away with it.

Of course you can trust them — to be what they are.

The USA will have to deny bail to all Saudi Arabian citizens accused of a felony.
If the US Constitution does not allow that then bail will ave to be set at the output of an oils well for a year.
Bail jumpers should be put on the no-fly list.

Yes “sham alliance with Saudi Arabia”
Bit like the sham alliance with Pakistan (with lots of money given to them),
