“Istanbul synagogue offers worshipers helmets for their protection…..worshipers say local Jews live in fear, and no longer walk around in public wearing their skullcaps.”
Can anyone possibly imagine the global outcry if peaceful Muslims were offered helmets at a mosque while praying in Israel? The intolerance of Islamic supremacists all over the world is clear, but there is little will to hold them accountable on the part of the deceitful marching band of diversity charlatans who willfully ignore the hateful reality. Yet this intolerance is ingrained in Islamic teachings, but to call them out renders one “Islamophobic.”
(Quran 2:65) And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, “Be apes, despised.”
(2:191) And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
Arabs were not actually “expelled” from Israel, but left at the behest of the Arab Higher Committee and other Muslim leaders in 1948. Nonetheless, the fiction that they were expelled is a cardinal principle of the jihad against Israel today.
(4:160) Due to the wrongdoing of the Jews, we prohibited them certain good things that were permitted to them[earlier], and for their barring many [people] from the way of Allah
(5:21) O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back [from fighting in Allah ‘s cause] and [thus] become losers.”
(5:60) Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah ? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way.”
(5:82) You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah…
“Istanbul synagogue offers worshipers helmets for their protection,” by Itamar Eichner, YNet News, January 24, 2019:
After two deadly terror attacks in the city, Beth Israel has taken a most unusual step; worshipers say local Jews live in fear, and no longer walk around in public wearing their skullcaps.
As fears grow of terror attacks in Turkey, one synagogue in Istanbul has come up with an unorthodox solution. Worshipers at Beth Israel Synagogue are invited to take a pew, and help themselves to the helmet placed under each seat.
The Beth Israel Synagogue is the only shul in the world in which worshipers pray with helmets at hand for their protection. A member of the congregation said the helmets were introduced after the series of terror attack were carried out against the Jewish community in Istanbul in 2003. Two car bombs—one near the Neve Shalom Synagogue and another near the Beth Israel Synagogue — claimed the lives of 23 people in total. In addition, 303 people were wounded, 100 of whom were Jews.
A group of ultra-Orthodox worshipers from Israel were allowed to pray in the Beth Israel Synagogue only after undergoing a strict security inspection. When they entered the synagogue, they were amazed to see the helmets underneath every pew.
Beth Israel’s worshipers say that Jews in Istanbul live in fear, refraining from walking around with skullcaps. “Synagogues in Istanbul look like fortified military bases,” one worshiper said.
With relations between the once-friendly Ankara and Jerusalem in decline, anti-Semitism in Turkey is on the rise…..

And, as noted below, it is the Jews who are having to don helmets.

I have seen a mosque in Jaffa, during the middle of the 2014 war.
Worshippers were going in and out unmolested, with no security.
Missiles were LITERALLY flying overhead.
To me, that said everything that there is to know about Israeli civilization.

How sad. I have several thoughts on this.
Hostility to Israel does not necessarily imply attacks on Jews. Robert Spencer’s “The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Islam” https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E2XN6IS/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_tkin_p2_i3 details how the Orthodox Jewish community in Iran, at least in Tehran, is safe and protected, while Iran is one of the worst enemies of Israel.
Also, the fact that an Orthodox synagogue is operating in Istanbul after more than 500 years of Islamic rule shows that Jewish existence is possible in some Muslim countries under some conditions.
I suspect the difference between Iran and Turkey, right now, is that Iran does not accept refugees from Jihad wars like in Syria. If there were an influx of refugees, I’m sure the violence against Iranian Jews would escalate. Bringing in large numbers of alien refugees with a different culture and different values stresses the security system, even one like Iran’s that is not very fastidious in its methods of control. In other words, the more refugees, the greater the chance that the violent jihadis, normally suppressed or exported by stable Muslim governments, will have room to maneuver.
I’m preaching to the choir here, but the organized Jewish community in the US, Canada, and other Western countries is embarked on a literal suicide mission by advocating additional Muslim immigration, refugee or not.

Agree with RonaldB. Not only are members of “the organized Jewish community in the US, Canada, and other Western countries … embarked on a literal suicide mission by advocating additional Muslim immigration”, but some of them like Toronto’s Bernie Farber are promoting discriminatory BDS measures against Israel to make the existence of Israel more tenuous. One has to wonder what contortional thinking makes such people work so hard against the interests of Jews when they and their children will suffer from Islamic persecution in the long term. Baffling.

I like to follow the websites of mainstream, organized Judaism and I’ve noticed one thing: they are hard-left, SWJ advocates. Cultural Marxism despises Western civilization, and takes as its highest principle that Western culture and civilization must be destroyed.
Israel is viewed as an outpost of Western civilization, accounting for some of the leftist rage against it. The Jewish organizations have been pretty steadfast in their support of Israel, but it’s an obvious disconnect with their cultural Marxist proclivities. I’m actually waiting to see when the mainstream Jewish organizations will throw Israel under the bus. Bernie Farber seems to be the canary in the coal mine, a somewhat mainstream Jewish community leader acquiescing in the boycott of Israel.
By the way, there’s plenty of anti-Israel feeling on the dissident right (plenty of support as well), and more than a microscopic amount of pure antisemitism.

Like I stated earlier, I took much of my information from Robert Spencer’s book “Infidel’s Guide to Iran” in which he states the Iranian Jewish community is not persecuted and is protected. Take it up with Robert.
Also, the article you cited listed the people in detention over religious matters, and there were no Jews among them.
I try to stick to the facts, even if they’re not exactly what my overall concept would dictate.

Ronald, one book of Robert Spencer’s I have not read is “The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Iran”. I should read this book.
I agree that the facts are important.
I do know that Iran had a Jewish population of 80,000 to 100,000 before the Islamic revolution there, and that in the 2012 census that number had dropped to just 8,756–it is likely even smaller now. Most Jews have fled–it seems unlikely that they would have done so in such huge numbers if they were fully “protected”.

Thousands of Christians/Catholics/Anglicans are inviting, subsidising and helping Islamic immigrants, donating to and supporting “Palestine”, campaigning against Israel, forming NGOs to help Muslims attack Israel and to enter Europe but only Jews are ever pointed out and condemned.
Hmmm, what COULD be the reason?
The ugly impulse to blame Jews, whatever the issue, continues regardless oif the facade of civility some like to wear.

Superb research and exquisite style in this article by Christine Douglass-Williams. Writing about Islam is one of the toughest things a writer can do. Christine has produced a cogent, concise article that clearly communicates the absurd hypocrisy of the Islamists and their Leftarded naïve pals.

actually, Leroy, i think that the *jews* at the synagogue are the ones providing the helmets. nevertheless, good point; any muslim who might have been able to be educated like these folks is instead busy strapping on a suicide vest or sneaking into a child’s bedroom in the middle of the night to murder sleeping families.

If Turkey (98 percent Muslim) is so worried about Jihad, a pillar of Islam,
why not abandon Islam wholesale, and for good? That will also be

Nah, but they would fight each other and starve, and seek handout from
non-Islamic countries. Case in point Yemen, Pakistan, Sudan and 90 percent
of the remaining Islamic countries.
