“Pope praises respect for diversity in United Arab Emirates,” by Cindy Wooden, Catholic News Service, January 31, 2019

VATICAN CITY (CNS) — “Al Salamu Alaikum,” Arabic for “peace be with you,” Pope Francis said at the beginning of a video message to the people of the United Arab Emirates, which he will visit Feb. 3-5.

“I am happy that in a few days I will be able to visit your country, a land that strives to be a model of coexistence, human brotherhood and encounter among different civilizations and cultures where many find a secure place to work and live freely in respect for diversity,” Pope Francis said.

Foreign workers and other expatriates account for about 80 percent of the population in the United Arab Emirates, a federation of seven emirates on the southeast edge of the Arabian Peninsula. The Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia, which includes the emirates, Oman and Yemen, estimates almost 1 million of those foreigners are Catholic….

    The first Jesuit, Italian descent, put in as The Pope while a sitting Pope was forced to step down…anyone heard of antichrist? This is it. It is Pope Francis who expelled Pope Benedict.

      No surprise. Reference the Sweden thread, I pointed out along with others, that Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s comments on Sweden were his typical dissembling and lies. Intended, as always, to create doubt and confusion as he pursues his main mission. I predicted that in short order he would soon be making more statements and ignoring Islamic crimes and supremacy. I was wrong, I had predicted “in a week” this would happen. It was less than 48 hours.

    The above picture of this papal folly of Pope Francis of his foolish embrace of the high ranking Muslim is ,in some ways , similar to those sincere but terribly naive people who feel that they can change vicious and violent way of thinking of a jihadist Muslim by showing him kindness and even love. Those naive but well-meaning people express that idea they have by the words “Have you hugged ad terrorist today?” The harsh reality is that the only reason the a jihadist would let that person to get so close to him, as to embrace in a “hug” is to get close enough to literally stab that person in the back.

    This may be yet better explained by one of the fables of Aesop which is entitled THE FARMER AND THE VIPER. So here it is “Once in ancient Greece there was a farmer outside on a very cold winter day walking in if field to make sure that everything is in order and as it should be. The farmer came upon a half-froze viper about to die from the bitter cold. The kind yet foolish farmer took pity on the viper and in an action of kindness put it his is vest jacket to warms and up and thus save its life. The viper warned up revived and then bit farmer through the vest jacket. So the kind but foolish farmer died a slow painful death in awful agony because he felt sorry of the viper and saved it life.” The point to this fable is the no amount of kindness will chance an evil and dangerous nature.

    Those jihadist have they dangerous and evil nature because they are hopelessly infected by hard core non-watered down Qu ‘ran based violent jihad Islam.

    These two engaging in a hug…should be enemies; and the guy in white, should be worried that the other guy, despite having a white hat, might have a knife up his sleeve, ready to plunge it into the pope’s body. Because, at least in the mind of the moslim, they are enemies.

    The pope’s pants are burning and the liar’s smoke is rising. Pathological liars can’t stop lying, esp if they don’t try.

      I don’t think the Pope is consciously lying. He is merely a naive, ignorant, rural bumpkin of a priest who is being used by higher ups, in and out of the Church. His proper place is in the rural countryside of Argentina serving a parish of farmers.

        Sorry, but there is just way too much evidence that islam is evil, teaches violence, rape, and murder of anyone who rejects it. All over the world, moslims are slaughtering Christians and in those countries like the U.S., U.K, Canada, etc, weasling their way in so as to institute their evil, lawless code of evil behavior and bring about the submission and slaughter such as is on-going in moslim majority countries.

        Even someone who has never been to school or seen any other part of the world than their own place of birth, can recognize this sort of thing, this evil, when it is in the daily news. Conclusion: the pope is lying and has been for all these years.

    And the vatican..

    .. should be shut down as it represents a clear and present danger… to faithful catholics,is disrespectful to christians and is a model of fraudulent,contrived holiness hidden behind a mask of false piety.

    francis the showman,the politician.
    {Thumbs up,wink to the camera}

    At this rate the vatican should be turned into an islamic refugee camp.francis should put his money where his mouth is.You could stuff millions of them into st Peter’s square if you stack ’em high.And francis is very clear on how much he loves the poor:he’ll even wash their feet as long as they are muslims{not catholics curiously..}

    The Bergolio show continues….

    I always imagine this scene if two saintly visitors came to the vatican

    St Peter….This guy’s the pope?Seriously?Did he miss the Gospel warnings..?
    St Thomas…I can’t believe what I’m seeing..I have my doubts..
    St Francis of Assisi…”francis”:who is he kidding?He’s not building the Church..he’s doing the opposite.

    The will eventually realize that Muslims can only practice the virtues of equality and coexistence if they IGNORE DISCRIMINATORY SHARIA LAW and almost total forget about.

    Of course, Muslims who are LAX in enforcing or practicing Sharia are considered LAX and ‘HYPOCRITICAL’.

    Muslims could just as easily swing from LAX to the STRICT-ENFORCEMENT position with regards to Sharia. There is a swing in many Muslim countries towards STRICTER enforcement of discriminatory Sharia law.

    A fascinating long read for anyone who is interested to read about the dark side of glitzy nation.
    Highly recommended.

    The dark side of Dubai

    Dubai was meant to be a Middle-Eastern Shangri-La, a glittering monument to Arab enterprise and western capitalism. But as hard times arrive in the city state that rose from the desert sands, an uglier story is emerging.

    Johann Hari reports

    I agree with the commenters above. What is this Pope up to? What is his agenda? Surely he knows about the Koran’s calls for Muslims to kill non-Muslims wherever they find them, surely he knows about Muslims marrying off underaged girls, surely he knows about Muslim honour killings, etc. He should know. The Pope is meant to call out evil for what it is. He isn’t meant to cave in and be friends with the evil barbarism Islam represents. As people above have commented, we need a Pope who tells the truth the way that Pope Innocent III (as quoted in Robert Spencer’s “The History of Jihad”) told it when he said, “a son of perdition has arisen, the false prophet Muhammad who has seduced many men from the truth by worldly enticements” (P166) Come on, Pope, get some courage and tell the truth about evil Islam.

    g,
    thanks,. I was referring to the line, “at least in the mind of the moslim, they are enemies.”
    And certainly, the pope should be able to see it that way. Evidently, being spiritually blind, and wishing to protect himself, he sees what he wants to see.

    And, I know it’s time consuming to read every word in every comment. At this, you do quite well. We all miss some on occasion, many more so than you.

    Show me Pope Stupid where is my Catholic Church in UAE? Barely a few churches exist and Christianity is subject to laws, regulations and restrictions, eg. you cannot openly proselytise per the decree of Omar. Moslem women cannot marry a Christian man. Churches cannot be built. Restrictions on using hotel conference rooms etc exist so you cannot congregate.

    What tolerance?
