“Police in the Swiss city of Schaffhausen have defended their decision to fine a man who used the words ‘Allahu akbar’ in public.”
Known only as Orhan E. in the Swiss media, the man argued:
“I was born here [in Switzerland] and have never experienced anything like this. We live in a free country with religious freedom. Arbitrary police behaviour is not acceptable.”
Maybe so, and as much as this may seem to some to be a violation of religious freedom, it isn’t. Orhan E. knows full well that jihad attacks by Muslims screaming “Allahu akbar” have murdered people and destroyed lives. It is a pity Orhan E. was fined if he was being honest when he said that “he used the Islamic phrase ‘Allahu akbar’, which literally means ‘God is [the] greatest’, to express his amazement after spotting a friend of his near Schaffhausen’s goods train depot.” On the other hand, he must also be aware of the real meaning of “Allahu akbar”:
The actual meaning is “Allah is greater,” meaning Allah Is Greater Than Your God or Government…It is the aggressive declaration that Allah and Islam are dominant over every other form of government, religion, law or ethic, which is why Islamic jihadists in the midst of killing infidels so often shout it.
In the West, because of the behavior of Muslims, this phrase carries a threat and a menace that other religious expressions, Islamic and non-Islamic, simply do not carry, so Orhan E.’s fining is not about freedom to practice or express one’s faith at all. Now that terror has been struck into the hearts of disbelievers by jihadists screaming “Allahu akbar,” many people are rightly nervous about this phrase, and it isn’t “Islamophobic” to say so. It is not non-Muslims, but Muslims who have made the words “Allahu akbar” worse than shouting “fire” in a crowded theater.
“At the time, there was a possibility that people could have become afraid or shocked,” a media spokesperson for the force, Patrick Caprez, told local daily Schaffhauser Nachrichten. The phrase ‘Allahu akbar’ has often been used by terrorists before carrying out attacks. Schaffhausen security chief Romeo Bettini also backed the force’s decision to fine the man.
“Man fined 210 Swiss francs for saying ‘Allahu akbar'”, The Local, January 10, 2019:
Police in the Swiss city of Schaffhausen have defended their decision to fine a man who used the words “Allahu akbar” in public.
The incident in May 2018, which saw the man fined 150 Swiss francs (€132) plus 60 francs in administrative charges, came to light this week after the 22-year-old involved went public with his story.
The young man, named by Swiss media as Orhan E., said he used the Islamic phrase ‘Allahu akbar’, which literally means ‘God is [the] greatest’, to express his amazement after spotting a friend of his near Schaffhausen’s goods train depot.
While he was speaking in Turkish to that friend, he was approached by an off-duty police officer. The policewoman then fined him for causing a public nuisance because he had used the phrase Allahu akbar in a “loud and clear” manner.
Local police have since defended the fine, saying the officer acted appropriately.

Schaffhausen security chief Romeo Bettini also backed the force’s decision to fine the man.
Bettini noted the manner in which the phrase had been spoken was key in the 2018 incident and added police officers would have acted in the same way if someone had run around a local square swearing loudly.
“It is completely wrong to say this phrase [Allahu akbar] is forbidden in Schaffhausen,” he said….

Fined? and he’s bitching about it? In reality this fool is lucky he didn’t get to take the room temperature challenge (a bullet in the chest).

Statement from the state ministry in North-Rhine Westphalia 01/10/2019::
German citizens have to endure public mass prayers of Muslims. The public mass prayers are justified with regard to the exercise of the right to freedom of religion.
Several times since 2010, groups of radical Muslims have called for mass prayers in residential areas. The unannounced prayers are performed by an Imam with the use of sound systems. The ‘Allahu Akbar’ shouts of the Imam and the prayers are threatening and unsettling the German population.

*Good*. And it is *far* more likely that this Muslims was terrorizing the Infidels than that he was expressing surprise at running into an old acquaintance.

At 8:46 the North Tower was attacked. At 9:48 on Flight 93 we began to fight back. That is just over one hour. Great job Americans on Flight 93! God bless you. It took a long time to get to that day and it will be even longer before we are rid the menace. Thanks to the America hating left the situation is in doubt at this time. At this point in our history and existence it is an all hands on desk issue.

usually heads roll, literally, or worse, when allah akbar is used so I think a fine is well in order, even jail time would be appropriate. Stick to your guns, literally, Switzerland. Takes a lot to stand up to muslims as they are threatening at every corner then act like the victims. Pity they have just about taken over Europe; too bad they can’t all be deported.

To me this smells like a set-up to test the water, see what they can get away with. Switzerland is an incredibly strict law enforcement society, so if you want to Islamise Switzerland, you have to go by very small steps, like shouting “Allahu-Akbar!” in sleepy Schaffhausen (from where it is also extremely easy to slip into the jihadi safe haven of Germany), rather than do the usual spectacular mass murder in a large centre like Basel, Zürich or Geneva.
eduardo odraude says
Switzerland is also a highly democratic society. I’ve heard that the Swiss canton system works like this: Imagine if you lived on the border between two US states, say you were in NY, right on the edge of NJ. Now imagine that because you are on the border, US federal law gives you the right to decide which state you are part of, New York or New Jersey. So let’s say you don’t like some laws passed by the New York legislature, and you decide to escape those laws by declaring your property is now part of New Jersey, not New York. Because of your action, the border between New York and New Jersey now moves, New York shrinks, and New Jersey expands. If enough people don’t like the New York laws, New York could geographically shrink to nothing in no time. As could any state that is badly administered. I’ve read that the cantons work in just that way in Switzerland. So politicians there have to be extremely response to their constituents, lest a canton’s geographic area shrink to nothing very rapidly. Can a Swiss person confirm this?

“allahu akbar” is the islamic war chant in praise of the moslem god allah “the best of deceivers” k3:54:it is certainly NOT praise to the Judeo-Christian Biblical God.
It is pretty obvious by now that the islamic god allah is NOT the Judeo-Christian Biblical one.allah, for example, completely missed the 2 chief commandments.
What is al wala wal baraa only the rejection of God’s 2nd chief commandment{see koran 5 v 51}allah,unlike God,tells muslims NOT to get along with Jews and Christians!
What religiously observant Jew or sincere Christian says “Praise God” whilst trying to kill somebody? That’s insane.Try explaining the concept of those essential Exodus 20 Commandments to muslims.Jews and Christians understand, muslim fanatics don’t.
A Jewish Rabbi runs down the street shouting “Praise YHWH!”
It’s Ok.Nothing happens.Nobody dies.
A Christian evangelist runs down the street shouting “Praise Jesus!”
It’s Ok.Nothing happens.Nobody dies.
A militant atheist runs down the street stark naked “haha there is no God:it’s all a delusion like the necessity to wear clothes is a delusion..”
It’s Ok.Nothing happens:he’s entitled to his opinion in a secular society..isn’t he?
A muslim fanatic runs down the street shouting “allahu akbar:”.
It’s not Ok.Bad things usually happen and people either die or get injured.
A muslim fanatic can chant allahu akbar whilst they are stabbing someone to death..
What true Christian says “praise Jesus” whilst beating someone to death,what religiously observant Jew says “praise YHWH” whilst kicking someone to death?:such behavior is at ODDS with God’s laws..but of course allah is not God so muslims think they can get away with doing such things because allah says so in his book{But since allah claims to have- personally- written both the Torah and the Gospel -which Jews and Christians know is ludicrous…when why should anyone take the koran seriously?}
eduardo odraude says
In non-Muslim communities, it’s true, shouting allahu akbar is really little different from shouting fire in a crowded theater. That is rather an astonishing fact and says a lot about Islam.
Even if Allahu akbar, among some Muslims, is not infrequently used to express thanks or celebration of anything, Muslims should know better than to yell the phrase in public among non-Muslims, because among non-Muslims, that phrase is not experienced much, except when it has been seared into the public brain as something yelled during a mass-murdering terrorist event. It may be innocent blind habit for some Muslims to say it loudly in public sometimes, but it is also selfish and thoughtless, given the background and meaning the phrase has for non-Muslims. Instead of screaming Islamophobia, “moderate” Muslims should have to deal with the externalities of their association with Islam. Even if they are genuine “moderates,” Islam itself is not moderate, and the cost of “moderate” association with Islam is that a totalitarian violently expansionist system gets the benefit of “moderate” support. The true moderates are ignorant of what they are supporting, but their ignorance cannot entirely excuse them from some sort of reasonable, legal-societal accountability for what they support. Such as, for starters, expect to get fined and perhaps arrested for shouting Allahu akbar in a public place.

I had made a list of countries that I would like to one day visit. The list gets smaller every year. Two countries that are still on my list are Japan and Switzerland primarily because I would be pretty sure that I would not have to hear allah akbar while I was there. Lots of countries are off my list now. Next year or the year after maybe Switzerland. I hope not it is a beautiful and civilized country.
