Meghan Markle’s friend Loujain al-Hathloul “has been jailed and tortured in Saudi Arabia for fighting for women’s rights.” Her family states that “the 29-year-old languishes in a Riyadh prison cell, with her family reporting she has been subjected to electric-shock torture, and threats of rape and death in a ‘palace of terror.'”
Markle has recently been given a rude awakening about jihad terror and the jihad ideology. In November, it was revealed that Markle supported a community kitchen in a mosque that was linked to 19 jihadists. “Experts” said when the news broke that “the Duchess of Sussex has been ‘poorly advised’ and a simple internet search should have raised some questions.” But no matter how much evidence is presented and how many questions are raised about jihad terror, all such concerns continue to be minimized in the name of diversity, which now includes the fear of offending Muslims (“Islamophobia”).
In 2016, Markle was a counsellor with the UK-based Empowerment For Youth Organization. Markle stated at that time that the participants were “speaking out against human rights violations, environmental crises, gender equality issues, discrimination and injustice. They are the change.” It would be refreshing to see Markle speak out in defense of her friend and other women who are being tortured in Saudi Arabia for standing up for women’s and human rights in Islam, since the status quo is for those with power and influence to ignore the many human rights violations that are justified by Islamic law.
“Meghan Markle’s friend tortured in Saudi prison for fighting for women’s rights,” by Joe Duggan, Express, February 2, 2019:
MEGHAN MARKLE’S friend has been jailed and tortured in Saudi Arabia for fighting for women’s rights, her family say. Loujain al-Hathloul is a globally respected activist who once graced Vanity Fair alongside her friend Meghan Markle.
But today, the 29-year-old languishes in a Riyadh prison cell, with her family reporting she has been subjected to electric-shock torture, and threats of rape and death in a “palace of terror”. Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International believe other imprisoned rights’ activists are being subjected to similar horrific treatment. A source close to the activists told Express.co.uk: “Loujain is starting to speak more and more about the torture. She is experiencing very hard post-trauma. She is shaking and she cannot control herself sometimes. We want them to be released. But we just don’t know when they will be.”
There are calls now for Loujain to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize as the battle to secure the group’s release continues.
Loujain Al-Hathloul became a hero to many around the world as she battled peacefully to win Saudi women the right to drive and pushed for gender equality.
Her campaigning won worldwide recognition and a huge social media following…..

I expect the feminists will be onto this like a shot ….

But but but..everyone knows Islam is the religion of peace and would no allow anyone to torture, rape imprison enslave , murder and otherwise destroy lives

Loujain al-Hathloul is a hero for human rights, but few feminists will rally to lend their support. Islamists know this, and so they will not fear to torture Loujain al-Hathloul. The world’s feminists will look the other way and try on hijabs to virtue-signal and show their solidarity with Muslimas in the grip of Islamic Stockholm Syndrome.
Feminists are showing solidarity with the perpetrators of oppression against Islamic women.
However, women in Saudi Arabia have 60% of the university degrees and own about 60% of the wealth. The influence of Saudi women will thus increase and not diminish.
The old guard in KSA is fighting a rear-guard action against women’s rights. Once KSA falls to women’s rights, the entire Muslim world will fall.

one would hope that “the entire Muslim world [would] fall,” mortimer … but i don’t think so. we have to remember that islam is a gangsta cult, like ms-13 on steroids, and the thugs who run the criminal haven of saudi bararia won’t put up with their chattels telling them what they can and can’t do with the money the women own. since the women are under their thumb, they don’t give a rat’s a** *what* they say – the money is as good as theirs.
or were U joking? i’m so used to seeing comments by uneducated/deluded westerners that i forget sometimes, and don’t recognize sarcasm.

sigh … saudi barBaria. i have type-ahead fingers with a mind of their own, and a keyboard with bouncy keys (made that way by pounding out replies with anger rather than forethought).

Saudi women still cannot travel or even leave their home without their being allowed out by their “Mehram”.

She worked to get it legal for women there to drive. Now, she is paying for all of her work.
Women driving made the news. It showed that moslims there can be “progressive.”
But the torture and threats of rape and death show moslims to be creatures of islam’s evil. Can’t publicize that reality. It makes islam and moslims “look bad.” it spoils the “image” of the wild beast from satan.

Grimly true, Somehistory.

It’s surprising that news has not yet reached England’s shores that Islam is totalitarian. Muslims take a back seat to no one when it comes to propaganda.
b.a. freeman says
the fact that propaganda from the ummah converts kuffar into such staunch defenders is the best evidence of that, Terry!

The Duchess’ father-in-law, Prince Charles, is friendly with the Saudi Royals. If she asked him, he’d likely try to get her friend out of there or at least have them go easy on her.

I doubt he’d even try.

He intervened to get William Sampson out of Saudi Arabia, so he might have some influence in this case.

So this phony “duchess” goes to her fatherin-law to plead the woman’s case with him. What if he got her out? Does this fix anything? If it requires some insider “friend” among the British Royal family to get you out of this mess what does that say? It says, basically, that the rest of Islam’s fictims are literally dogfood. I hope this lady is freed and recovers from this horrific ordeal, but I would not count on the ridiculous, sold-out phony “duchess” to do any good for anyone. The point is not that the victim is – or maybe is – well-connected. THe point is that innocent people are being tortured by the Saudi government.

Very interesting show on ABC’s Four Corners last night about Rahaf AL Qunun’s successful flight from Saudi Arabia, and the many unsuccessful attempts. https://iview.abc.net.au/show/four-corners

I’m so glad that Rahaf and a few others have gotten out–but many have not been able to.

I *hope* Markle makes this a cause celebre.

No chance of that. She must have learned by now that the Monarchy MUST remain detached and neutral on politically-charged questions in order to survive.

I’m not holding my breath waiting for that. MM’s speciality is PC virtue signalling at which she excels. She will not risk offending Daddy-in-Law’s pals.

Such lazy uneducated supremacist dross.
Yet I believe they support all the “good” of islamic doctrine.
Basically they refuse to read the koran, find the chronological order, understand abrogation, and then the supportive authoritative hadith and sunnah, in understanding the “perfect man” of Mohammad who’s sayings, guidance, actions, and deeds are the lawful guide to all muslims duties and actions in their lives.
If only “Markle” would take time to read. Then if she has the fortitude, her words and advice on this would create a real ’cause celebre’ always pointing to the truth.
Or is her life just a shallow splashing in a pool of glam.

Markle could speak out in defense of her friend and use her position.
Markle could sparkle.

I hope she does.
This story is getting a *lot* of coverage–by the Mirror, the Express, The Sun, and the New York Times.

Personally, I think she is going to be too busy with baby, and starting her new family…
She might quietly try (behind the Royal curtain) to try and get the Royals to pull strings on behalf of her friend…If at all possible…
We shall see…
