Pope Francis and the Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb, have published “A Document On Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together,” and it’s as filled with falsehoods and wishful thinking as one would expect coming from a practiced deceiver such as el-Tayeb and someone so eager to be deceived as Pope Francis. Christine Douglass-Williams has already detailed here some of the reasons why any thinking person should be suspicious of el-Tayeb’s sincerity, and I plan over the next few days to highlight some of the more egregiously false statements in the document itself.
Here’s one:
Terrorism is deplorable and threatens the security of people, be they in the East or the West, the North or the South, and disseminates panic, terror and pessimism, but this is not due to religion, even when terrorists instrumentalize it. It is due, rather, to an accumulation of incorrect interpretations of religious texts and to policies linked to hunger, poverty, injustice, oppression and pride. This is why it is so necessary to stop supporting terrorist movements fuelled by financing, the provision of weapons and strategy, and by attempts to justify these movements even using the media. All these must be regarded as international crimes that threaten security and world peace. Such terrorism must be condemned in all its forms and expressions…
Terrorism is due to “an accumulation of incorrect interpretations of religious texts and to policies linked to hunger, poverty, injustice, oppression and pride.”
So are the authoritative sources in Sunni Islam, the schools of Sunni jurisprudence (madhahib), all incorrect in their interpretations of the Qur’an and Sunnah? Here is what they say about jihad warfare against non-Muslims:
Shafi’i school: A Shafi’i manual of Islamic law that was certified in 1991 by the clerics at Al-Azhar University, one of the leading authorities in the Islamic world, as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy, stipulates about jihad that “the caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians…until they become Muslim or pay the non-Muslim poll tax.” It adds a comment by Sheikh Nuh Ali Salman, a Jordanian expert on Islamic jurisprudence: the caliph wages this war only “provided that he has first invited [Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians] to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya)…while remaining in their ancestral religions.” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.8).
Of course, there is no caliph today, and hence the oft-repeated claim that Osama et al are waging jihad illegitimately, as no state authority has authorized their jihad. But they explain their actions in terms of defensive jihad, which needs no state authority to call it, and becomes “obligatory for everyone” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.3) if a Muslim land is attacked. The end of the defensive jihad, however, is not peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims as equals: ‘Umdat al-Salik specifies that the warfare against non-Muslims must continue until “the final descent of Jesus.” After that, “nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus’ descent” (o9.8).
Hanafi school: A Hanafi manual of Islamic law repeats the same injunctions. It insists that people must be called to embrace Islam before being fought, “because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith.” It emphasizes that jihad must not be waged for economic gain, but solely for religious reasons: from the call to Islam “the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war.”
However, “if the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax [jizya], it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do.” (Al-Hidayah, II.140)
Maliki school: Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), a pioneering historian and philosopher, was also a Maliki legal theorist. In his renowned Muqaddimah, the first work of historical theory, he notes that “in the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” In Islam, the person in charge of religious affairs is concerned with “power politics,” because Islam is “under obligation to gain power over other nations.”
Hanbali school: The great medieval theorist of what is commonly known today as radical or fundamentalist Islam, Ibn Taymiyya (Taqi al-Din Ahmad Ibn Taymiyya, 1263-1328), was a Hanbali jurist. He directed that “since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.”
This is also taught by modern-day scholars of Islam. Majid Khadduri was an Iraqi scholar of Islamic law of international renown. In his book War and Peace in the Law of Islam, which was published in 1955 and remains one of the most lucid and illuminating works on the subject, Khadduri says this about jihad:
The state which is regarded as the instrument for universalizing a certain religion must perforce be an ever expanding state. The Islamic state, whose principal function was to put God’s law into practice, sought to establish Islam as the dominant reigning ideology over the entire world….The jihad was therefore employed as an instrument for both the universalization of religion and the establishment of an imperial world state. (P. 51)
Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee, Assistant Professor on the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law of the International Islamic University in Islamabad. In his 1994 book The Methodology of Ijtihad, he quotes the twelfth century Maliki jurist Ibn Rushd: “Muslim jurists agreed that the purpose of fighting with the People of the Book…is one of two things: it is either their conversion to Islam or the payment of jizyah.” Nyazee concludes: “This leaves no doubt that the primary goal of the Muslim community, in the eyes of its jurists, is to spread the word of Allah through jihad, and the option of poll-tax [jizya] is to be exercised only after subjugation” of non-Muslims.
How did someone with incorrect interpretations of religious texts become a professor on the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law at International Islamic University?
Anyway, as for the idea that poverty causes terrorism, it’s just a call for Western nations to write more checks to governments of Muslim countries. It’s also demonstrably false. The New York Times reported that “not long after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001…Alan B. Krueger, the Princeton economist, tested the widespread assumption that poverty was a key factor in the making of a terrorist. Mr. Krueger’s analysis of economic figures, polls, and data on suicide bombers and hate groups found no link between economic distress and terrorism.”
CNS News noted in September 2013 that “according to a Rand Corporation report on counterterrorism, prepared for the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2009, ‘Terrorists are not particularly impoverished, uneducated, or afflicted by mental disease. Demographically, their most important characteristic is normalcy (within their environment). Terrorist leaders actually tend to come from relatively privileged backgrounds.’ One of the authors of the RAND report, Darcy Noricks, also found that according to a number of academic studies, ‘Terrorists turn out to be more rather than less educated than the general population.’”
Yet the analysis that poverty causes terrorism has been applied and reapplied and reapplied again. And now here is the Pope signing on to this falsehood.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

Pope Francis has committed the FALLACY OF BELIEF IN UNIVERSAL VALUES.
Pope Francis believes without evidence that ISLAM ADVOCATES GOOD WILL TO PEOPLE OF OTHER FAITHS. It does not.
Nowhere in the Koran is there an expression of the Golden Rule therefore, it is of no importance in Islam and Muslims have no reason to observe it. Since Islam’s most important message to humanity (the Noble Koran) does not contain the Golden Rule, it is logical that it was unimportant to Allah. This explains why he entirely omitted it from the Koran. The Golden Rule is held to be central by all religions except Islam. Muslims are surprised to learn their faith does not teach it, but rather, teaches the opposite…to hate infidels ‘for the sake of Allah’. That doctrine (of actual hatred towards non-Muslims) is the second most important doctrine in Islam and is called ‘Al-Walaa wal-Baraa’ (allegiance to Muslims and disassociation from infidels).
There is, however, a very restricted version of the principle of reciprocity found in the Hadiths. The Hadiths are a subsidiary collection of sayings and acts of Mohammed and his companions. They have much less authority than the Koran, but contain a version of the Golden Rule which applies only among “brother” Muslims. This Islamic “brotherhood rule” is not universal and does not apply to non-Muslims.
Islam divides the entire world into Islam and the Kafirs (unbelievers) and has two separate sets of ethics for each sphere. The enslavement of Kafirs on the basis of religion is clearly a breach of the Golden Rule. The Golden Rule cancels slavery.
The basis of the Golden Rule is the universal equality of all humankind, regardless of their religion, race or origin. It does not say: Do unto some persons, as you would have them do unto you, but do unto all persons as you would have them do unto you.
Islam denies the universality of the Golden Rule because Islam starts with the division of all humanity, into two different groups: Islamic and non-Islamic. Every aspect of Islamic ethics is based upon this separation, thus Islam has two different ethical codes. Said another way, Islam has dualistic ethics. Thus, in Islam, “Good” is whatever advances Islam; “Evil” is whatever resists Islam. Islam’s ethics are opportunistic and inconsistent; therefore they are not ‘moral’ but opportunistic.
In the Koran, the main concern is that of forcing the peoples of the earth to submit to Islam and then keeping them in it, as if in a mental prison. Thus, Allah did not forget to include 164 Koranic verses commanding Muslims to go on jihaad (holy wars of conquest) and many verses commanding Muslims to murder renegades from Islam. Such verses are opposed to and irreconcilable with the Golden Rule. If such angry verses were removed, 61% of the Koran, 75% of the Sira and 20% of the Hadiths would disappear.
Finally, the Koranic concepts of ‘kafir’ (an impure, subhuman non-Muslim) and ‘jihad’ (sacred warfare to remove the human rights and civil liberties of kafirs and ethnically cleanse them) entirely preclude the Golden Rule by stating kafirs are unequal to Muslims. The Golden Rule affirms that all people are inherently equal, unlike Islam. A kafir may never be treated equally to a Muslim, nor offered genuine friendship or love.
This is perhaps the strongest argument that Islam is an exclusive, supremacist cult: The Golden Rule is entirely missing from the Koran, both from the letter as well as the spirit of Islam’s original texts.

GI, it’s a photo opportunity, isn’t it? They’re trying to convey a message of peace through the image.
Most people won’t read or understand the words. The words of a supposed brotherhood between Islam and other religions are of course fake. Islam is supremacist.
It seems that the pope actually doesn’t realize that Islam is supremacist. It seems is actually profoundly naïve.
This pope seems totally focused on Marxist-Leninist liberation theology which stems from a general conference of bishops of Latin America, held at Medellin, Colombia, in 1968. It spoke of the church “listening to the cry of the poor and becoming the interpreter of their anguish”.
The pope is obviously interpreting JIHAD as synonymous with REVOLUTIONARY STRUGGLE.
Francis is thus showing his total ignorance of supremacst Islamic doctrines: jihad, the near enemy, taqiyya, female segregation, Dhimmitude, Islamic apartheid, the Pact of Omar, etc. Those are political doctrines that will deeply affect the RCC as Islam advances in Europe, thus undercutting and diminishing the influence and participation of the church in Europe and the West in general while increasing the influence of discriminatory Sharia law.

Mortimer, your comments here are spectacular! However, I am convinced that the Pope is not acting out of ignorance at all. He had access to historical documents and information that we will never see. He understands the nature of Islam perfectly well.
I believe this Pope signals a shift in Catholic doctrine – he is a globalist who is playing his part in bringing about the NWO. He is playing his role to bring about one global religion and to lend support to the influx of migrants invading the West.
It is incomprehensible that the leader of the Catholic Church would spend so much time and energy defending and promoting Islam. It’s unprecedented and disturbing and it reeks of a puppet-master pulling his strings. He is a deeply evil man.
note: not defending Catholicism in any way as I believe it is a cult

I don’t think the Pope is being misled. The idea that Islam is nothing but death and destruction is all through the Church. For example, look into the Feast of the Holy Rosary which celebrates the Christian victory at Lepanto. There are many other cases as well. The Pope is required to know these things down to the last detail. It is more likely that the Pope is leading a double life and has a concealed agenda.

Some catholics believe he is THE false prophet of Revs 13 v 11-18.

Others believe he is simply a bad, heretical, betrayer of Catholics.
At the very least he is a pro-islam,pro-globalist tool of the NWO.
Within catholic prophecies there are many warnings about this:Fatima 1917,La Salette,St Francis of Assisi’s prophecy of a false pope{“the destroyer”}It is what Pope Paul VI was talking about when he said in 1971 ,that “the smoke of satan has entered the Church”;he was talking about the church administrators,not Catholicism itself.This is a time of trial but it is not the end of authentic Christianity.What you need to know is contained in the prophetic teachings of Jesus Christ{Matthew chpts 24 and 25}
“Many will give up their faith at that time”
Matthew 24 v 10
“Will the son of man find faith when He returns”
Luke 18 v 8
There you go:That’s the Apostasy.Which is precisely why you need to keep faithful in times of trial.
Fatima 1917,is a well-known catholic prophecy that PREDICTED that Apostasy and Heresy would come from Rome via a false papacy/church administration. As for the Vatican:let’s just say that it will be #1 on God’s Hit list….I wouldn’t worry about the survival of Christianity{there is no need:it is guaranteed}but the men who bring Christianity into shame will be dealt with. They are DOOMED!
Prophecies for Christians are GOOD news.
{allah and his muslims don’t know anything about Biblical Prophecy as it is revealed in koran 4;171-unwittingly-that allah doesn’t believe in that aspect of God through which Prophecy comes see 2 Peter 1 v 20-21.Just think that allah doesn’t know what God’s Holy Spirit is..}
Everything you need to know about these times and what to do,in prophetic terms is to be found in the Gospel prophecies of Jesus:most likely many clergy don’t bother to tell their congregations but “oil for your lamp”{Matthew chpt 25} is necessary…
Don’t worry about frankie and his ilk:they are earmarked for God’s Justice for “what they have done and what they have FAILED to do”.
As for WHY God allows this:when you look at the history of the papacy it seems that perhaps God tests the faithful by seeing do they follow the example of a bad pope or the example of a good pope.
1 Peter 4:17 Judgement begins with God’s Household
Matthew 13 v 47-50 The Parable of the Net

Lydia Church says
FYI:
You are on the right track in the sense of getting to the destination.
Keep reading the Bible.
He is actually the antichrist.
Many think the false prophet will arrive first and prepare the way for the antichrist.
But when reading Revelation 13 we see that the antichrist rises first and then the false prophet, who endorses him. So the false prophet is next at some point.
The Bible is such a work of divine mystery and beauty!
I will share this jewel below regarding the symmetry:
On God’s side there is the Trinity; Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
The Son glorifies the Father and the Holy Spirit glorifies the Son.
Each yields to the will accordingly as well.
The Son ascended to heaven and the Holy Spirit descended upon the church.
The Holy Spirit came after Jesus and magnifies Him, pointing the world to salvation through Jesus, convicting the world of sin and glorifying Jesus.
Now on the devil’s side is an unholy trinity; the devil, his son the antichrist, and the false prophet. Each submits to the one before and ‘glorifies’ and does his will. The antichrist rises first and then the false prophet comes on the scene afterward and points the world to the antichrist after he has arisen on the world scene. That part is yet future.
Whether or not you see who the antichrist is yet, the symmetry is Biblical. Good to know. Many will not see him for who he is so it is good to know. For instance 2 Thess. 2 says that the rapture can’t happen until after antichrist is revealed. Many have been deceived by the pre trib rapture theory telling them that they never have to worry about seeing him when the Bible says the opposite. The rapture is actually pre wrath.
Also, the last dance isn’t over yet. I truly do think that as these things unfold, many will see and have their eyes opened if they have been reading Scriptures. Many Catholics and those in other ‘dead’ denominations will be awakened by the Spirit and see things for what they really are and won’t fall into the trap set by the devil. Just call upon the name of Jesus!!! Read the Bible and pray.
Blessings!

There are still, to this day, countries that endorse violent jihad. From among those countries there are a number with considerable “inherited” wealth. I call the petroleum business inherited because without Western knowledge and money it would still be in the ground and Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Oman would be third World countries. The tide of evil that comes out of these countries is pure Islam, Muhammad style.
My point is this: whenever fundamentalist (true) Islam arises as an important political player in a certain country, and the country doesn’t have natural resources, the country will be poor and holding their hands out to the Western world they despise. As I write this I am not sure if we are still giving money to Saudi Arabia. I do know that Iran’s theocratic priorities have, of course, wrecked their economy.
But Muhammad didn’t really work for his money. He just let other people do the working and then he took it, well 20% of it. This is one of the most emulated behaviors of Muhammad. In the UK and all the established European democracies it translates as; go on the dole and become resentful. This very same resentment that is encoded in the minds of children, ensures that things like goals, progress, innovation, invention, hard work, creativity, etc. never have a chance to take root. And the people now are poor, unemployed and ready to pounce on the very same people Muhammad chose as his “preferred” victims, Jews and Christians.

One very important point the Robert Spencer misses out on above post is that if poverty is the cause of terrorism, where are millions of poor Christians,Hindus, and Buddhists terrorists.
There are millions of really poor people in India,Asia,South America and Africa who are not Muslims and who do not turn to terrorism.

The Bible is chock full of warnings about having dealings and forming times with those who serve satan.
Having a “sharing” with the moslim creep is having a “sharing with demons.” The pope has no excuse for his actions. He is a “false prophet”…probably the one in Revelation that helps to make “an image of the wild beast” and promotes worship thereof.
The Apostle John wrote, The children of the devil are evident by this fact, whoever does not righteousness is not of God, ”
Jesus said that many would come to Him, “saying, Lord, Lord, did we not expel demons in your name and perform many powerful works in your name, and I will say to them, “‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you workers of evil.”
The Apostle Paul wrote, “When they are saying ‘peace and security,’ then sudden destruction will be upon them instantly like the pangs of distress upon a pregnant woman…and they will not escape.”

I can understand a Pope wanting to visit a country where Catholics are in the minority in order to support strengthen and sustain them.In order to do that peacefully and without controversy certain courtesies have to be observed.
However, signing documents more or less saying God WILLED a diversity of religions is another. If God WILLED a diversity of religions why would He have bothered to send His Son in the first place ?Also why did His Son willingly submit to a cruel death on the Cross in order to save the world? There would have been no need of it if God WILLED that there be a diversity of religions in the world in the first place. Also, why did Our Dear Lord Jesus instruct us to say in the Our Father ”Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven” A loving, merciful Father God woud not want a kingdom on earth where they kill people for not believing. He wants people to come to Him willingly and joyfully.
Admittedly God ALLOWS other religions and even evil to exist because He has given humans a free will to choose between good and evil and God is so Wise and Good that when He bestows a gift on His creatures He does not take it away.
Pope Francis has commited a grave error in signing this document Probably one of the errors Our Lady referred to at Fatima in 1917.She said they would reach right to the top of the Church and you can’t get higher than the Papacy.
somehistory says
Correct. God did not ‘will” a multitude of religions. His Word says, “one faith” and “one Way” and “one Truth” and Jesus made clear that the “way” to please our Heavenly Father is a “narrow and cramped road leading to life…and few are finding it,” and there is a “broad and spacious road leading to destruction..” and “many” are on that broad road.
“Babylon” is the geographical source, the devil is the demonic source of the many religions and many false ‘gods.’ Nimrod built Babylon for the sole purpose of people worshiping him instead of God. God confused their languages so they could not finish the tower, but God did not instruct nor “will” the many religious beliefs to come out of that ancient place. He would never “will” a belief that would cause, yes even demand, the murder of others.
The Bible says, “It is God’s will that all sorts of men come to an accurate knowledge of Him and be saved.” This requires “accurate knowledge”…not a confusion of different teachings. “God is a God of order and peace, not of confusion.”
The pope and the moslim are being used by satan to mislead the people of earth.
