“A king of Baitul Maqdis ( Jerusalem) would make warriors move forward towards Hindustan (India). The warriors will destroy the land, plunder its treasure and enchain the kings of that land. The warriors will conquer all from West to East and will stay in India till the time the Dajjal appears.” — Naim Ibn Hammad (Kitab al Fitan)
The above words are the sayings and teachings of the Islamic prophet Muhammad for Ghazwa-e-hind, the Islamic annexation of the Indian subcontinent and civilisation). These are the hadiths which inspired the jihadis to massacre more than 40 Indian security forces personnel in India last week.
It was 15:15 (Indian standard time), 14 February when Adil Ahmed Dar, 22, carrying 350 kg of explosives in a black SUV, rammed into one of the 78 vehicles of the convoy carrying more than 2500 CRPF personnel on national highway 44 in Lethpora, Pulwama (south Kashmir). The bodies were mutilated to such an extent that pictures can’t be even presented publicly; bodies of some soldiers were in the state where only DNA testing could found out their identities. Among these soldiers were some who were going to be married in the coming month, those who attained fatherhood a week before, those who were the only child of their lonely parents, and the son whose mother will be waiting for that last hug from him forever now.
The perpetrators: The jihadi youngster who did this suicide attack was from the Pakistan-based and sponsored, UN-designated jihadi outfit Jaish e Muhammad (literally meaning the army of Muhammad). Its founder and current head is Maulana Masood Azhar. India and the international community, including the USA, have made various attempts to list him as a terrorist in the UN Security Council sanctions committee in recent years, but on each of those occasions, China used its veto power to save him. This is due to the fact that terror activities managed by him in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir are benefiting China, to help protect its CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) from Indian retaliation, as CPEC is violating India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The aftermath: After this dastardly and cowardly jihadi attack, the nation is in tremendous anguish and outrage. Millions of people up to now have expressed their protest against this, but we shouldn’t overlook the propaganda the Indian left is purveying, in collusion with the Islamists, over various social media platforms. They are engineering the false and highly obnoxious and deplorable narrative that the Indian government itself orchestrated this, for reasons such as to distract the people from scams; to emotionalise the population in order to win the forthcoming election; and to incite the masses to attack Muslims, and especially Kashmiri Muslims. The Left is also spreading the false narrative that Kashmiri Muslims across India are being attacked, while the reality is that many Kashmiri and other Muslims across India are celebrating this terror attack as a new beginning of Ghazwa-e-hind; some are doing so on social media, and some even in the open. Ashok Swain, a professor from Uppsala University, Sweden and a well-known leftist bigot, claimed that the Indian premier himself orchestrated the attack.
Meanwhile, it was no surprise at all that the Jewish state of Israel was the first foreign state to express solidarity and support for the retaliatory plans of India. Israel has promised the Indian government its unconditional support to retaliate for this diabolic attack. Also, the US NSA John Bolton spoke to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval, and declared US support for India’s right to self-defence. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has engaged in talks with all the members of G20. It is interesting to take cognizance of the fact that over the last few months, Pakistani military and intelligence officials were repeatedly saying on their domestic news channels that beginning in February, Pakistan is going to do something regarding the Kashmir issue. At the same time, the dissidents and freedom fighters of indigenous freedom movements in Pakistan, such as the Pashtun Liberation Force have openly come out in support of India.
The genesis: It is needless to mention the fact that the genesis of this attack goes back to the fundamental doctrine of Ghazwa-e-hind, over which the Islamic State of Pakistan was established. But there were a few incidents and series of events which enabled it. Starting from 2015, when the Indian right and centre incumbent BJP extended its support to the ultra-Islamist PDP in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir to form the government, the jihadists anticipated that their political patrons being in power would enable their flexibility in perpetrating terror of maximum magnitude. Thus jihadis took to high-profile suicide attacks against security forces. Under the rule of a jihad sympathiser, head of province Mehbooba Mufti, security personnel were barred from using force against those who breached security checkposts, and the procedure of area sanitization for convoy movements was scrapped; these were the two main reasons behind the success of the suicide jihadi attack. After the surgical strike retaliation for the Uri attacks, the jihadis were at halt, but last year’s unilateral Ramadan ceasefire from the government’s side exposed its weak spine and emboldened the jihadis to carry out their nefarious plots.
Major General (retd.) GD Bakshi’s standpoint: India’s one of the most well-known and well-respected defence analysts has deduced that the commander-in-chief of Pakistan’s army, General Qamar Bajwa, is the main across-the-border mastermind of this attack, as he is seeking an extension to his time in office, and a warlike situation with India will enable that; now this is something which Pakistan’s premier Imran Khan doesn’t want, since it was General Bajwa who installed Mr Khan in his present office, and since then, General Bajwa is influencing Mr Khan in a dominating manner. After all, Pakistan is a country actually ruled by the army and its intelligence counterpart ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence). The previous commander-in-chief of the Pakistani army, Raheel Sharif, was employing the same frequently used tactics, but eventually abandoned them when he was given a lucrative job offer by Saudis, to become the commander-in-chief of the Islamic military terrorism counter-coalition.
The Indian government: To the more than a billion people of India, the ruling government of the BJP headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proven to be nothing more than a humiliating betrayal of its mandate. After almost three decades, India got a majority government from the proclaimed right of the political spectrum in the country, but in the almost five years of their governance, they have shamelessly abandoned their core ideology, their core voters and supporters, and their pre-election promises. They have always chickened out in front of leftists and Islamists. After the Pulwama jihad attack, they have made huge assurances to the people of the country, but their track record tells a different story. Since the attack, five more Indian soldiers have been martyred, but only three jihadis have been neutralised, though one was a mastermind of the attack, Abdul Rashid Ghazi. The government’s retaliatory measures so far seem cosmetic, such as withdrawing the economically most-favoured-nation status of Pakistan, summoning their ambassador, Sohail Mehmood, in New Delhi, and calling the Indian ambassador to Islamabad back to India. They have also withdrawn massive government facilities of jihad sympathisers and pro-Pakistan politicians and activists, but two kingpins among them, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Yasin Malik, have been spared this. Nothing is being done regarding revocation of the Indus water treaty, which would be a major setback to Pakistan. A recent incident a day after the attacks in Janipura, Jammu, reveals the commitment of the Indian government: a few Muslims from Kashmir were celebrating the attack, and when the local residents, mainly Hindus and Sikhs, protested against this, the protestors themselves were taken in remand by the local police. But no change is visible in either the political or the media fraternity; they are all peddling the same melodramatic rhetoric rather than doing something serious and concrete.
Not a single date on the calendar remains since the inception of Islamic jihad on which it hasn’t spilled innocent blood. Up to this date, official records show that more than 80,000 Indians have lost their lives to terror attacks instigated by Pakistan. Pakistan is the most monstrous embodiment of the doctrine of Ghazwa-e-hind, and it’s a member of United Nations! Thus it’s the responsibility of the civilised world to stop Pakistan and its allies such as China from achieving their utopian vision and anti-humanitarian agenda. But it all begins from India. The country needs to stand up to these monsters and tackle them with a firm spine, as the late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri once did, and the onus to make this a reality is on the common people of India like us.
