The establishment media continues its full-court press to try to shame Western countries into allowing Islamic State jihadis to return. They willingly joined an entity that is (not was) avowedly at war with non-Muslim countries, and that has repeatedly called for attacks on innocent civilians in Australia and elsewhere. The Australian authorities would be crazy to let Zehra Duman return. And they just might be.
“Australian jihadi bride who fled Islamic State wants to bring her children home from Syrian refugee camp,” by Adam Harvey, Suzanne Dredge and Tom Hancock, ABC.net.au, March 14, 2019 (thanks to John):
An Australian woman trapped with her two young children in a refugee camp for Islamic State group families says her daughter needs urgent medical care and she wants to come home.
The woman refused to confirm her identity, but it is believed she is 24-year-old Zehra Duman from Melbourne.
She is being held at Al Hawl refugee camp in north-east Syria.
In an interview exclusively obtained by the ABC, the woman said she wants to bring her two-year-old son and six-month-old daughter back to Australia.
“Both of my kids are sick. [My daughter is] very malnourished, she’s … very skinny,” she said.
“I have no money, I’m not allowed to have money, they don’t give us food here and they don’t let us contact our families.”
The Australian woman said her daughter’s life was in peril.
“My daughter needs milk and I don’t have money to buy her milk. I don’t know what to do now,” she said.
She also said that she wants to come back to Australia.
“I want to go back to my country. I think everybody’s asking for that because I’m an Australian citizen.
“I understand the anger that they have towards a lot of us here, but the kids don’t need to suffer. My kids have a right at least to be treated like normal kids,” she said….
The Australian woman’s story appears to match that of Zehra Duman — a 19-year-old who left Melbourne to join IS in November 2014.
Ms Duman moved to the IS Syrian capital of Raqqa and married Australian fighter Mahmoud Abdullatif.
She was a vocal supporter of IS’s violent rhetoric on social media, as well as an effective recruiter.
In 2015 Ms Duman, calling herself Umm Abdullatif Australi, posted a picture of a woman holding an automatic rifle, with the caption: “catch me if you can”.
A Twitter account believed to be operated by Ms Duman was suspended in 2015, after she called for violence against “kuffars”, or non-Muslims….
The woman in the refugee camp, who refused to confirm whether she was Ms Duman, said she followed her boyfriend to Syria.
“I knew him from when I was a teenager from school,” she said.
“I started speaking to him online — got back in contact with him — and he was religious and stuff. I wasn’t Muslim my whole life. I came here to marry him,” she said.
“Then when you come, your husband dies and there’s no way out. If you’re going to get out, maybe you’re put into jail.”
After Abdulatiff’s death, Ms Duman married another IS fighter who died two months ago in the battle for Al Soussa, a town near Baghouz.
“My husband got killed and I was just looking for a way out. I just packed my bags, and I walked out with my kids by myself,” she said.
‘I am an Australian citizen’Last month, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) negotiated with IS to allow civilians to leave.
The woman believed to be Ms Duman left on a convoy and arrived at the processing area three weeks ago.
She said the journey from Baghouz to the Al Hawl camp was difficult.
“We were on the truck for two days. It was raining on us, there were no blankets and it was freezing. My daughter was cold, so I was just making her warm with my body heat,” she said.
The woman claimed to have had no contact with the Australian authorities.
“I have not seen any embassy [official] or anything. We don’t know what’s happening. We’re not allowed phones here, we’re not allowed to talk to our families,” she said.
“The world is talking about taking us back and whatever and we’re just really [praying] that we can get out of this place.
“At the end of the day, we’re human. We have human rights.”…

She is using her children as bargaining chips…for sympathy…in order to be allowed to go back. She knows that the average person cares about children, concerned that these children are starving and ill.
How much concern did she show for the children of those people she hoped to see conquered by isis?
Infants and babies have committed no wrongs, they are not responsible for the terror and death their parents caused, and the are “humans.” It is sad that they have to suffer for the “sins of the fathers.”
Are there people in Australia who would like to adopt a small child…without regard for the fact the child’s father was a terrorist, killing innocent people, killing other people’s children? If so, sympathy and concern could be shown for these babies, while leaving the terrorists…male and female..where they are, to pay for their crimes.
If the authorities said they would allow her children to go to Australia…how could they “go back” to where they never were?…but she had to stay and face the music, would she agree to that? Probably not.

Because the local muslim pressure groups will claim the kids must be raised as muslims (cultural bigotry not to do so – don’t you know?) they’d probably give the kids to their grandparents to raise and they did such a great job raising their own kids. As these kids grow up will they have some degree of gratitude to Australia for saving them or not? What do you think?

When, gravenimage, I was taking the bar review course many years ago as preparation for the bar exam, I recall very well what the guy who was teaching us criminal law said about prisoners’ rights (and the bar exam always tests you on the general rule, never the exception). He indicated that we would probably get a question on this very matter and if we did that this was what we should remember: A prisoner has the right to shut up, has the right to be incarcerated, has the right to have virtually no rights, etc.
Pretty much should apply here to this ISIS bride (including any so-called right to return), whether in Australia, America, or any Western nation where freedom was developed as no other civilization remotely has developed it. No need to commit national suicide in the name of human rights. Indeed, doing so makes a mockery of true human rights.

Agreed, Wellington. I just hope most in the West understand this.

‘will they have some degree of gratitude to Australia for saving them?”.
About as much gratitude as their first and second generation Australian passport holding parents do for having the privilege of living in a stable, wealthy, western first world democracy where they had every opportunity available to them.

ISIS members, men, women or children , are not stateless but citizens of the Caliphate.
Besides, citizenship is not a matter of a document but a state of mind.

Just exactly how stupid does she think we all are? She has human rights, but the people she called for violence against didn’t. Unbelievable!
Jay says
As sad as it is for the many ISIS brides and their children, they made a choice to betray their
countries and sleep with the enemy , so to speak. Why should Australia, England, the USA,
Etc etc, allow them to return (?). They are active threats to wherever they would return too.
Once they become enemy combatants, their citizenship rights are terminated! It’s called TREASON!
End of a very tragic story.
Greg Murphy says
You gotta be human first!
tim gallagher says
Good comment, Greg. You’ve got to be human to have or claim human rights. All these ISIS creatures were totally inhuman in the way they treated other human beings who didn’t share their satanically evil view of the way things should be. Now they whinge that they deserve to be treated humanely because they have human rights. Yeah, right. ISIS victims had zero human rights. She made her bed and she deserves to stay where she currently is. I view these ISIS supporters as being just like the Nazis after WWII.

Tim – the NAZI’s were more moral.

The “we” in the statement above applies only to muslims and “human rights” means “the right to follow quran & sharia unconditionally”.

What happens to “infidels” who lose the fight when the forces of Islam attack? The losers have three choices: convert to Islam, pay the Jizya or die. That is per her “holy” book which she follows. See the way she is dressed. See the finger making her point. She still thinks it is acceptable to treat other human beings, whom she calls “infidels,” as less than human. She accepts that her god sees some human beings as apes, pigs and vile creatures and she feels it is her duty to punish those people for their refusal to accept her god.
When she recognizes just what it is that brought her into her current condition, when she rejects a way of thinking that makes her human while at the same time allows her to treat others as less than human, when she begs for forgiveness and promises never to return to the hateful way of thought she so willingly embraced, then I will feel some pity for her. Right now, I feel nothing but the same contempt for her which she has proven she feels towards me and others like me, that is, those of us human beings who choose not to be Muslim.
Keys says
“See the way she is dressed. See the finger making her point.”
CES – agree. I see no remorse. Let’s not allow the wicked (wo)man in to our midst, but expel her from our midst. Good advice given long ago. Her children are another matter.
Would a family with young children allow a homeless child molester in to their home until he “gets on his feet” ? Not me. How can one be forgiven who is not remorseful ? Show no remorse and make demands versus show remorse, a change of mind, and ask for forgiveness. Further, how does one know remorse is sincere ?
In fact, because of her belief and experiences in the “caliphate”, she is likely to be more hateful, resentful, and vengeful than ever. Let’s not spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to find out if she is sincere and to “rehabilitate” her who does not wish to be rehabilitated. No thanks !
See her finger. Glory to Allah ? The muslim F-U ? Both ? Ilhan Omar and Sausour use the same signal with a smile.

She has a right to a trial as an enemy combatant and should receive the full sentence if found guilty.
lebel says
Actually I don’t think people who betray their countries should be allowed to return. In this particular case, she is not even repentant, it’s only because they lost that she wants back. I am not sure how the law works in such cases, there may be a need for her to be tried in her country which then necessitates repatriation. The kids are a different since they are not responsible and thus I imagine that different laws are applicable.
Translation for Taqqiya-savy jihadwatchers. The above is a lie, I am a big fan of this woman and hopes she kills more people!
