Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

France: Archbishop “delighted” to participate in dedication of largest mosque in the country

Mar 28, 2019 5:00 pm By Robert Spencer

How delightful. How broad-minded. How generous. When and where is Eric de Moulins-Beaufort’s kindness reciprocated? And is he aware of how Muslims entered France in the year 732? He apparently assumes that Islamic theology regarding jihad warfare against unbelievers has changed since then. It hasn’t. As the archbishop dreams of Reims being “a town of trusting mutual relations, full of new projects,” he may be in for a rude surprise.

“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

“French archbishop ‘delighted’ to participate in dedication of mosque,” LifeSite News, March 25, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

March 25, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — The Grand Mosque of Reims was inaugurated March 14 in the presence of Archbishop Eric de Moulins-Beaufort, who joined a host of local authorities, the mosque’s imam as well as a number of foreign financiers of the 3,750-square meter (about 40,000 square feet) complex that lies in the Saint-Anne area of the historic French town.

The Catholic archbishop gave a short speech and even posted his words on his Facebook page, saying he was “delighted” for the Muslim community of Reims.

Reims, a medium-sized provincial town in northeast France, has about 180,000 inhabitants of whom some 37,000 are part of the Muslim community, according to figures quoted by local media in 2014, when the Grand Mosque first opened to worshippers.

Its official inauguration was delayed for nearly five years in order to allow all interested parties and financial backers to take part, once the finishing touches were made. It is the largest mosque in France, built in a highly symbolic location.

Clovis, the first Christian king of the Francs, was a pagan. He was baptized in Reims on Christmas Day somewhere between 496 and 506 (historians differ on this point) by Remi, the saintly bishop of Reims, together with 3,000 warriors. His baptism is considered to be the founding event of what would become the Catholic kingdom of France, at a time when the chiefs of Gaul and most of the bishops favored the Arian heresy.

On the day Clovis was to be received into the Catholic Church, the crowd was so dense that it was impossible to bring the Holy Chrism for the sacrament. Miraculously, a dove – assimilated to the Holy Spirit Himself – descended toward the baptismal fonts, bringing in its beak of vial of oil, the “Sainte Ampoule,” which has been used since then to anoint the kings of France.

Thirty-five French kings were anointed in Reims up to the 19th century. The 14th-century Cathedral building still stands, beautifully restored despite heavy damage in the First World War. Visitors can admire the spot where St. Joan of Arc stood in 1429, under the the altar on the north side, having unfurled her white banner while Charles the VII was anointed king.

So in a way, the presence of an enormous mosque and cultural center, with a 14-meter-high minaret and room for 2,000 worshippers (more than 1,000 gather there each Friday), appears to many French people as a sort of act of defiance on the part of Islam, which is gaining more strength in secularized France….

According to Joachim Veliocas, a French observer of Islam, the Grand Mosque has links with the Muslim Brotherhood. Jihad preacher Hani Ramadan gave a talk there in May 2015…

Here is what the archbishop said:

“You have done me a great honor in inviting me to share your joy on this day. I receive this joy thinking also of my predecessor, Mgr. Thierry Jordan, who supported your project right from the start.

“Together with me, the Catholics of Reims are delighted that you can glorify God the creator and the merciful in this place, confide in him with your joys and sorrows, your hopes and plans, dilating your hearts so that they can be purified of all bad feelings and go towards the other full of strength, in peace and with trust….

“May the joy of this day illuminate the life of the Muslims of Reims for a very long time and may it be the guarantee that our town shall always be a town of trusting mutual relations, full of new projects.”…

“Here, moslims, allow me to put my head on the guillotine, and allow me to invite my fellow Frenchmen and women and especially all Christians to get in line to do the same with their heads.”

Joy comes from God’s Holy Spirit. moslims cannot have any joy. They reject God’s Holy Spirit and His Son. Therefore, since they reject joy, they will not be given any.

Dear SH, The duty of an archbishop is to teach Muslims the Gospel that you are preaching, rather than tell them they are doing fine. The French church should be planning and implementing a grand evangelization of Muslims living in France so that every person in France hears the church’s message of peace with God through His plan of salvation. That is what Archbishop de Moulins-Beaufort’s job entails.

What a ignorant fool this Archbishop is to be “delighted ” by the dedication of the largest mosque in the nation of France. This makes a person wonder , just who’s side is that Archbishop on anyway ?

Nevertheless the extreme ignorance of this Archbishop is shown ,in that the construction of a mosque in a non Islamic nations has been explained by a former Muslim who is now a Christian, Dr. Daniel Shayesteh, in his book ISLAM THE HOUSE I LEFT BEHIND for in page 99 it informs the reader that “The mosque is vital for establishing Muslims as sovereign over non-Muslims in a non-Islamic society or country. Building a mosque in a non-Islamic society or country symbolizes Islam’s claim over that society or country, even with a non-Muslim majority.”

I don’t recall King David participating in the dedication of Philistine temples. The god of Israel surely would have cursed his chosen people for undertaking such an action. It appears the Catholic Church has resigned itself to the extinction of Christianity in Europe. With the accelerated vandalism and destruction of Catholic churches and cathedrals across France, plenty of new real estate will become available for additional mosque construction.

Archbishop de Moulins-Beaufort naively believes that Islam teaches Muslims to treat the dirty, disbelieving kafirs with ‘peace and trust’?

A Muslim never trusts a kafir, but only gives his PEACE to a brother Muslim. Does de Moulins-Beaufort not KNOW that?? Muslims never offer THE PEACE to kafirs, but only to Muslims.

Apparently, the archbishop believes Islam teaches LOVE of the KAFIR. Sadly, Islam teaches the REVERSE of peace and love towards the kafir

Koran 48.29 “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

The Christian is supposed to “preach the word.” In good times and bad. But he/she is never to mislead someone into thinking that they are pleasing God when they are, in fact, going against His Will. This man is misleading as he is saying that this building dedicated to satan is pleasing to God. He is misleading in saying that they can have “joy”…which they cannot.

Jesus said that “Everyone asking receives.” He also said that we should “Ask God” for His Holy Spirit. God gives “good gifts and perfect presents” and one of these is the Holy Spirit.

Those moslims who wish to stay in the darkness of islam along with satan, will never “ask” and they will never “receive,” and as long as they don’t “ask and receive” they will never have the Joy of Holy Spirit.

Besides misleading the moslims, he is also misleading any others who hear him or saw him on the news, Christians and otherwise. He said untrue things and by this, didn’t help anyone, not even himself. He may as well have put his neck in the nearest guillotine.

Is he committed first to Christ Jesus, or first to politics? Islam can be friendly , but never a friend to Christians. A search on the Internet can demonstrate that easily. And by the way, “The Pit” is very, very large to accommodate all!

I would ask Christians who post here if you know of any era in Christian history when so many Christian clerics (and laity) have lost both their collective mind and their collective balls? I know of none.

Right now, a lot of Christianity is in a stupid mode that it has never been in before. If this isn’t obvious, then nothing is obvious.

And the fact that an agnostic like me has to be in the forefront time and time again rooting for traditional Christianity to regain its mind and its testicles serves, I would contend, ipso facto, just how far a great deal of the Christian world has fallen over the past half century.

Muscular and informed Christians are needed to combat what Islam intends for us all. Seems like it’s a declining bunch. Damn.

There were times in history when Islam was close to being crushed, yet dhimmitude and infighting and personal greed all got in the way of the bigger picture and the larger achievement.

Yes, Crusader, and there are more examples of stupid wars among Christians and alliances with Muslims against fellow Christians.

France was in the 16th century allied with the Ottoman Empire against the empire of emperor Charles the 5th, which encompassed Germany, the low lands, Spain and the new world.

In the 16th century King Philip II of Spain fought a war against his Protestant subjects in the Netherlands. While he should have fought together with them against the Turks. Mind you, the Dutch were even worse; they concluded that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” and allied with the Turks! Stupid! Later Philip attacked ENGLAND with the Armada!

Napoleon in 1799 wanted to thwart the English, which he shouldn’t have. But his army made mincemeat of the Egyptian resistance and would have easily defeated the Turks in Palestine, and Jerusalem, were it not for English assistance to the Turks! And Nelson destroyed the French fleet at Aboukir. They English should have made a deal with the French against the Muslims!

And think of the Crimean war, # 1853. The Russian Czar Nicholas, called the Ottoman Empire “the sick man of Europe”. He was prepared to reconguer Constantinople for Christianity! And to compensate England and France in a sort of division plan. But the English and French fought the Russians in alliance with the Turks! Grrrrrr in hindsight.

I know that they say it was for geo strategic purposes, but I find it almost criminally shortsighted what they Europeans did once they had the technological upper hand. Sometimes it was as if they had amnesia about what the Muslims had done to and stolen from the Christians! And they WERE Christians, the Spanish, Dutch, English and French.

I must read the French text because he truly never said that. “There is violence in our country and this violence erupts sometimes” he said.
In a nutshell, that is my understanding: What he meant to say is that sites of learning, mosques, churches, praying areas must give us the strength to exchange (pacifically) views and experiences.

Dear Lavéritétriomphera, I am not referring to the speech the Archbishop made at the Mosque, but his reply to critics of his having spoken there–as I clearly noted above.

On the page, his Mosque speech is at the top of the page, and his response to critics–which I was citing–below that.

Here is the original French of that passage:

Ma seule crainte serait que certains chrétiens manquent de foi au point de ne pas supporter d’être persécutés ou même moqués.

Here is the page in the original French, without the English translation:

      https://www.facebook.com/MgrdeMoulinsBeaufort/posts/683097492109628?comment_id=688105334942177&comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R0%22%7D

    @gravenimage,

    Hi,
I could not find the sentence in question but the translation is correct and reminds me about the sermons on Sunday, my veiled mother saying “shut up and listen to the priest” and the priest was saying “Christians must be able to bear with the pain”.
As far I am concerned the only problem is when are two cheeks have been slapped again and again, I think it’s time to hit back and to hit harder and to make no bones about it.

    • gravenimage says

Lavéritétriomphera, it is in the reply to critics, which is below the picture.

The passage I cited is second from the bottom, and the paragraph begins “Le Christ élevé…”. The quote I replied to, above, starts with the third sentence in the paragraph.

I agree with your points. Christianity is not a suicide pact. We have the right to stand up against evil, and certainly should not be inviting it into our nations.

      • Lavéritétriomphera says

        Mar 29, 2019 at 12:11 pm

        @gravenimage,

        Bonsoir,
I will try to answer you without English mistakes and write our cheeks and not “are” cheeks. That said, French Catholics, particularly if they are royalist, think we deserve what is happening to us. In 496 Clovis1 (Louis) king of the Franks called upon the Christian God of his wife Clotilde, asking for his aid during the battle of Tolbiac. He won it and became Christian. Since then the land of the Franks called Francia is devoted to Christ and to the Catholic Roman Church. And the franks (French) have “assassinated” their king, betrayed Rome and above all they have betrayed Christ. So French Christians think we have betrayed the very essence of our nation, that our behavior is immoral. I have in mind the same sex marriage which has not been accepted by a non negligible part of the population. So the French Christians think we need to be truly put to the test, to remember that France is a Christian nation devoted to Christ. They think the Christian world including US will not be spared from God’s anger too.
I am a rational man and I think time is over for superstitions, bunch of baloney. Islam is a dangerous apocalyptic cult and a bunch of baloney. But I believe If mankind has gone down the wrong road, it is never too late to correct the direction no matter what obstacles may be in our way.

Your English is fine–certainly much better than my French.

That said, French Catholics, particularly if they are royalist, think we deserve what is happening to us…

There are some Christians who believe that any misfortune is due to sin and that the victims deserve it–but hardly all Christians think like this. Most Christians *oppose* evil–save for fools like the one in the story above who seem unable to recognize it.

          @gravenimage,

          Bonjour,
          L’ennemi surfe sur la peur,
To incriminate the “enemy” so that he feels guilty, is a psychological warfare technique. In short the victim deserves his fate and must accept his punishment!
“Most Christians *oppose* evil–save for fools like the one in the story above who seem unable to recognize it”.
The members of the clergy are not all of the same opinion, they use double talk, and the spirit of the knights has not died in France.

A quick overview of the RISE and FALL of Western civilization:

What will come after no basic human rights? Strife. War. Suffering.
A long period of the Dark age. And after that- a new Light again (as we see in history). The question is what that new Light will be.

I don’t plan on reconciling myself to a new dark age–and neither should anyone else here.

Yet another pious idiot. Truly, the world seems full of them. Hard to say whose worst;…
    __ __ __ __ __

I am one of these ‘religious nutters’ Peter35, as it Robert Spencer who founded this website in 2003. There are many other religious nutters besides Robert Spencer and I who are part of this forum.

I might be wrong but I suspect that Robert Spencer’s ongoing contributions to this website are very much driven by his religious nuttiness. Inevitably he risks life & limb (and perhaps family too?) to expose the abysmal violence found in the hope of waking up Western leaders and Westerners in general.

That said, I too am very disturbed by the stand taken by this French Archbishop.

I understand your anger and frustration re the violence found in islam P.35… I hope you can find a more constructive, less judgmental way of chanelling it.

The Archbishop should be defrocked. How can a supposed Christian attend a ceremony at a pagan facility? His mere presence implies acceptance. God didn’t play around with Eli’s sons and this Archbishop has put himself at odds with God.

The real enemy is leftism. This is at the route of almost all the stupidity of our culture – whether in the church or secular.

The supremacist desire of the left to be superior to those they disagree with means that being seen as ‘non-racist’ trumps everything else. By believing they are not racist they feel superior to the inferior ‘racist’ people.

Leftism is the problem. Until we tackle that we can never tackle the root of western dihmmi-ism.

Charles Martel had no right to turn back those followers of the Religion of Peace in 732. It’s high time that his racist and anti-immigrant actions were reversed. It’s high time to relegate those old bugbears of “national borders” and “national culture” to the trashcan of history. Shame on France for taking so long!
