Before the devastating fire at Notre-Dame broke out, there had been two months of attacks on French churches all around France, very few of which were reported on in the media outside France, and some of which hardly received sufficient coverage inside the country. There was a fire set at St. Sulpice, the second-largest church in Paris, which sits in the Muslim-majority neighborhood of Seine Saint-Denis, surrounded by mosques and Muslim shops. At the church of Villeneuve de Berg in Ardèche, Muslim teenagers urinated into the holy water font to express their contempt for Christianity. In another church, Muslims fashioned a cross of human excrement smeared on a church wall, with stolen Communion hosts stuck at the four corners. Some may be reminded of Oriana Fallaci’s enraged report on Muslim immigrants in Florence who, to express their dissatisfaction at not being given the treatment they felt was their due, urinated (and some defecated) on the bronze doors of the Baptistery, both the north and east doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti, and the south doors by Andrea Pisano; these doors are one of the supreme works of Renaissance art. On seeing Ghiberti’s doors, Michelangelo called them the “Gates of Paradise.” These were the doors streaming with urine, and smeared with feces, by Muslim migrants showing their contempt for the Unbelievers who, after all, had given them refuge but apparently, that was not enough.
In 2018, there were 1,063 attacks on Christian churches or symbols (crucifixes, icons, statues) in France, a 17% rise over the year before. All over France, acts of vandalism of churches have been registered in ever-increasing numbers. In recent months, crucifixes have been pulled off church walls and broken into pieces. Statues of Jesus, Mary, and various saints have been smashed; many have been decapitated. The monastery of Saint Jean des Blames in Aveyron was sacked by Muslims. The Paris daily Le Figaro, in reporting on some of these incidents, asked “Who has heard of the sacking of the monastery of Saint Jean des Balmes in Aveyron? Of those teenagers who urinated into the holy water font of the church at Villeneuve de Berg in Ardèche?” RT states that “the Church of St. Sulpice in Paris, where the Da Vinci Code movie was filmed, was set on fire just after midday mass on Sunday, Le Parisien reports. Firefighters and police said the blaze was an arson attack. In February, a 19th century statue of the Virgin Mary was smashed at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Houilles. The statue was ‘completely pulverized,’ Father Francois-Laurent Heart said. “It is irreparable.” The church reported three incidents in 10 days, with a cross also thrown on the floor by vandals. At Saint-Alain Cathedral in Lavaur, statues and crosses were smashed and an altar cloth was burned in February. A statue of Christ on a cross was also interfered with, as vandals twisted one of the arms to make it appear that Jesus was dabbing, La Depeche reports….Meanwhile, the Notre-Dame des Enfants church in Nimes was looted and vandals used human excrement to draw a cross on the wall in February. Consecrated hosts of unleavened bread, which Catholics believe is the body of Jesus Christ, were found scattered outside with rubbish.” These and numerous other attacks on French churches receive minimal, if any, media coverage.
The alacrity with which the country has rallied to the repair of Notre-Dame is admirable, but what should and could be done about of the other, deliberate destruction — about three attacks every day — on churches all over France? None of these churches are world-famous like Notre-Dame, but many are venerable works of art and architecture, with statues, crucifixes, baptismal fonts, altars, elaborately carved pews, some with organs or stained-glass windows; none, of course, deserve to be assaulted, vandalized, destroyed. What would it take to prevent or hinder such Muslim attacks? CCTV cameras inside and outside the churches, alarms connected from the churches to the local police stations, and armed security guards would certainly help protect such sites. As the sums pledged to restore Notre-Dame have gone far beyond $1 billion, surely the French government can contribute a few tens of millions of dollars to protect that part of the artistic patrimony of the nation that is to be found in its churches.
The massive fire that destroyed much of the internal wooden structure of Notre-Dame de Paris appears to have been the result of an accident, not Muslim malevolence. But the reaction of a disturbing number of French Muslims needs to be recorded. It was to be expected that the Islamic State — which called the fire Allah’s revenge for the mocking words about Mecca that apparently appeared in the French press a week before the Notre-Dame fire — would express its pleasure. But the anti-French, anti-white, anti-Christian sentiments expressed by many Muslims, their indifference to, or even hatred of, the history of France — still startles.
An email sent to me from France deserves to be shared:
The horrible responses of many French [& Muslims]
The case of UNEF (the National Union of Students in France)
Unfortunately many people have not been concerned about what has been happening at the National Union of Students. This student union, of the extreme left, has for several years taken an even more extreme turn toward “indigenism” [une dérive indigéniste, see the discussion of this term below]. The tweets of some of its officers are most instructive.
Here we have to stop for a moment to consider what is meant by “une dérive indigéniste,” which has a very particular meaning in French political life. The “parti des indigènes de la république”– the “Party of the indigenous peoples of the Republic,” or PIR, was founded in 2005. The party is the farthest of the far-left groups; its founders were two Muslim Arabs, and its membership consists primarily of Arabs and African blacks. The word “indigenes” is meant to indicate that just as in its colonies the “colonialist” French supposedly mistreated the indigenous peoples, so in France (“la Republique”) itself, French whites continue to mistreat Arabs and blacks, who are now described as “the new indigenes,” even though, of course, they, or their parents or grandparents, arrived from outside France, and the true indigenes in France are the French themselves. But because these Muslims and blacks in the group PIR claim to be the victims of “racism” and “internal colonialism” by the French state, it is they, and not the French themselves, who they insist should be considered the “indigenous people” of France, oppressed by the “whites.” The party’s militants see everything in terms of “racism’” promoted by the French state; they seek to sensitize Arab and black teachers to the “racist” messages conveyed in the schools, where the history of France is “forced” on non-French people, who are expected to celebrate a past that they have no part of, and should take no interest in. Arab and black teachers are encouraged to recognize the “internal colonialism” of France, and to identify areas in the school curriculum that reveal endemic racism. They are encouraged by the party to be anti-French, antisemitic, and anti-white, and to reject French identity even as they are pushed to embrace their Arab, Muslim, or black identities.

Wait and see? Was this an “accident”? Will we ever be told the truth? Why is it that billionaires pledged almost a billion dollars for reconstruction in less than a day while they have sat in silence for years as the country is being torn apart and destroyed by invasion? I have seen enough in my life to believe that Person who gave me that time is God. Is it mentally healthier to see myself as a random accident or one of the Children of God? JL, I have my doubts. Too quick on the determination of what was NOT the cause. I believe in most of Europe the normal voltage for appliances and general use electric circuits is a nominal 220 compared to the 115/120 volts used in the US. That higher voltage can, depending on a number of factors, make a short circuit hotter. The higher voltage should also make any fuse or circuit breaker operate faster and cut off the current to any arc or fault.
I handled some substation fault current studies where because of the low distribution voltage (2400/4160), the fault current was so close to the normal load current that fuses rarely worked (coordinated) as intended. In that case, the higher voltage (7200/12470) reduced the normal load current and increased the fault current so that the right fuse would blow at the right time.
At this time I will believe none of what I hear and less than half what I see. I do not think the truth is being told.

Wouldn’t fire controls and sprinkler systems be in place at such a landmark as the Notre Dame Cathedral which has the world watching it, millions of tourists coming to it, and a host of financial contributors backing its renovations over the years?
Frank Anderson says
Crusader, remember the World Trade Center had no sprinklers because of the extra weight they would have added to the structure (and the extra cost). According to many statements I have seen regarding US experience with properly sprinkled buildings, not one single life has been lost in a properly sprinkled building. I do not know if that is true. But from all I read and heard during the construction of WTC (many stories appeared in a number of magazines as it was built), there were no sprinklers because the building was otherwise “fireproof” until a large airliner loaded with almost all the fuel it could carry crashed.
Adding sprinklers to the old wooden structure of the cathedral would be a challenge. Like many preventive measures, there would have been a fight against the nay-sayers who would accuse the proponents of the sprinklers as being “unfaithful paranoids”. But look at the cost! Like the burning of the Reichstag, no deaths. But what a landmark of an impression. In my opinion, it is more likely than not that the fire was set on purpose. Now who would do something like that? Wait and see; someday.

The muslim doctrine of lying whenever advantage can be obtained over kafirs and apostates is in full display. Would you believe any of the collaborators in WWII? I have a friend who lives next to my brother-by-choice who pressure treats wood with borax making it very resistant to many hazards, probably including fire. We should not forget the history of the Reichstag. I don’t think we will ever know who set that fire either. The man accused, convicted and immediately executed for setting it clearly never had a chance to tell a different story from the “police”. We have a similar situation today where proclamations were being made before the fire was out, long before any competent inspection and review of evidence was possible. Lebel is vindicated. I vindicated him myself by assuming the man with the gasoline in St. Patricks must have been a jihadi. They (the jihadis) after all warned us, this Caucasian Christian philosophy professor didn’t. But lebel was right when he accused us of defaulting to an assumption. Of course, I for one defaulted based on a lot of recent history, but I got ahead of the facts. And I was even going to post elsewhere suggesting we all just chill till we learn something more about Notre Dame…… Now, anybody got any facts about the hundreds if not thousands of other desecrations in Europe, or did no one see fit to investigate them or to publish their outcome?
mortimer says
Elee, to say lebel is ‘vindicated’ … hmm … I try to be fair-minded and avoid blanket statements. Expressing suspicion based on the outpourings of joy in the Muslim world over the destruction of France’s pre-eminent religious symbol is not jumping to conclusions, but recognizing reality. For Muslims, France is the home of the Franks … the evil Crusaders. Just because the butler had a motive to murder his boss does not mean he dunnit.
Nevertheless, I think the investigators and the staff at the cathedral already have a fair idea how it was done. There are a lot of smart people working there. They are likely being told to keep quiet as the investigation goes on.
The facts will tumble out and books and videos will be forthcoming in the next six months. ISIS may have inspired the arson, ordered it or may have been involved in some way in it. Muslims in French prisons are apparently overjoyed at the fire.
Koran 8.60 says, ‘TURHIBUNNA’ (terrorize them).
I predict this fire will inspire many more. Muslims can buy matches everywhere. Who needs handguns?
elee says
Strong agreement…….especially when the “inspiration” that led to all the hateful exultation about this fire has apparently led to hundreds if not thousands of desecrations already, you know, the ones I keep asking about investigation results. Again Islamophobes and Muslims say exactly the same thing about Islam: it urges them to shoot, stab, detonate, or run down with stolen trucks…….and the Muslims go out and do it again and again. Anybody who warned about that gets daily vindication. That includes both of us and a whole whole lot of other people too.

elee…we don’t know Marc Lamparello’s motive.
On Monday evening while Notre Dame Cathedral was afire, Lamparello was praying at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, NJ. When it was time to close the cathedral, Lamparello refused to leave. He said he wanted to stay and continue to pray. The authorities were summoned. He was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and criminal trespassing. He was due to appear in court on May 1.
This morning he has been officially charged with attempted arson for last evening’s incident at the entrance to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC.
It was reported this morning that Lamparello had a ONE WAY ticket to Rome. He was scheduled to fly out of Newark International Airport this morning.
By all accounts, Lamparello is sane. An adjunct professor pursuing a Ph.D., he teaches philosophy (with a particular interest in existentialism) and was raised a devout Catholic. Family, friends, students and neighbors saw nothing amiss with him.
This is what intrigues and unsettles me: why the incident at the cathedral in Newark, NJ Monday evening while Notre Dame was burning? Why the attempt to enter St. Patrick’s Cathedral with gasoline, lighter fluid and lighters last evening? Why a ONE WAY ticket to Rome? (I’m speculating here, but I imagine he may have intended to visit the Vatican for Good Friday/Easter). Did he intend to stay in Italy indefinitely? He’s both a professor and student with work and study commitments.
Why would a devout Catholic drive from NJ to St. Patrick’s in NYC with ill intent?
I wonder if he has always sported that beard…

Here’s a thought……which may be worth exactly what you paid for it: Muslims are brainwashed from infancy. Part of that brainwashing includes Koran 81:30 , “You can desire nothing except that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, should desire it,” and 33:37, “It is not open to a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, to exercise their own choice in deciding it.” Hence one always hears about “Loving and hating only for Allah”; Allah gets to decide what you love or hate, and how much. This is not exactly the western kafir view of individual free thought and individual responsibility. So even if a Muslim would prefer peace with his kafir neighbours, he is not allowed to advocate it or even think of it. Koran 2:217: “Fighting is ordained for you, while it is repugnant to you. It may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may also be that you prefer a thing and it may be worse for you. Allah knows all and you know not.” Does this mean that Muslims—-literally, “those who have submitted”—can claim not to be responsible for their evil acts? Westerners can’t use the “Just following orders” defense, at least since the postwar Nuremburg trials……can Muslims? Or is an evil act committed by a kafir worse than one committed by a Muslim, because the Muslim surrendered his individual discretion to choose or decide anything and the kafir never “surrendered”? Come to think of it, when’s the last time you heard of a Muslim agonizing about what was right or wrong? Oh and I’m really tired of my keyboard not letting me do separate paragraphs when I post here.

Why are people so ready to pay for restoring Notre Dame?
Its clear eventual fate is to become a masjid, just as Hagia Sophia did in 1453 when Constantinople fell.
Restoring any vandalized structure is pointless; Islam will triumph eventually. The resources spent on restoring these buildings is a waste. They will be destroyed as soon as Islam is victorious as lesser churches were in Constantinople.
The money and resources could be spent on much better uses! Perhaps it could be used to educate the clueless about the evil that is Islam and why Islam is compelled to destroy all that does not submit.

Ms. Clark, I think muslims do not need any encouragement from kafirs. They are plenty bold without our help. All they have been taught for 1400 years is arrogance and contempt for non-muslim sub-humans. Unless the repairs include all measures to keep a second attack from happening, assuming there was a first, the second, and the third and the fourth will happen. The question is how many targets are available for attack and how many can be defended? When those are defended, what is not defended? As long as invaders are in the country, nothing and nobody is safe, or will be respected. I found several books that explained this to me. Please let me suggest that you look for yourself. “The first step to solving any problem is to admit a problem exists.”

Frank, I absolutely agree that Muslims hate Infidels and want to oppress and murder them regardless of how non-Muslims react.
That being said, if Muslims are met with weak or confused defense against Jihad–or, worse, outright appeasement and dhimmitude–it *does* embolden them. This is the main reason that things are so much worse now than they were twenty years ago.
Frank Anderson says
GI, as is almost always the case, you are absolutely correct about displays of confusion, indecision or weakness. The narrow and limited reason for my comment is that trying to ascribe to muslims that they need any sort of provocation to follow their (I hate to repeat it AGAIN but will-please laugh with me) “final, complete, perfect and unchangeable” teachings. I see no need to spend the least amount of time or attention on a question of provoking people who are already provoked. One of the main things we can do is affirm and celebrate our civilized values.
If you observe Easter as a religious or secular holiday–or both–or just have a pleasant Spring Sunday, I would like to wish you a very Happy Easter.
Frank Anderson says
Thank you. I follow Jesus most sincerely and probably in a unique way. I celebrate his life and what he taught. If he walked in my door, I would have very few questions, and none about his qualifications to teach me and set an example to follow. I have a whole spectrum of Christian and Jewish friends and wish all of us the chance to know Jesus in our own way without being forced to accept any other person’s way. My uncle, Grump, Father by Choice #2 in sequence but not rank, said, “When you find your way, it will be the right one for you. Ask your questions and find your answers.” I am still asking. But in any event, Happy Easter and Joyous Passover. Jesus would approve. Among other lessons he is attributed with teaching is a lesson of good and responsible stewardship of the Blessings of God.

Have any of these desecrations been labeled a “Hate Crime?”
Frank Anderson says
Liz, a “hate crime” is committed against or upon someone you like. An ordinary crime may be committed upon someone you don’t like. The idea of a “hate crime” is completely contrary to the US Constitutional requirement of Equal Protection under the law. When muslims and collaborators are in charge, the only “hate crimes” are committed against them. All other crimes, if they are even considered crimes, are ordinary. Would anyone in Nazi Germany be charged with a “hate crime” for killing a Jew? Of course not. The “accused” would be given an award and the person attempting to make the charge would be punished by being sent to a concentration or death camp. Where is the difference now? In the last few weeks here on JW a number of people have been charged for attempting to charge the wrong people with “hate crimes”.

The servants of satan (allah) will all be burning in hell soon unless they repent, disavow their false god and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Sadly most of them will burn in hell.
