Sri Lanka is under siege. The jihadis are active and are successfully “casting terror into the hearts of disbelievers” (Qur’an 8:60), who are now being subverted.
“Sri Lanka deployed thousands of security forces on Friday to protect mosques.” That’s because Sri Lanka is worried about retaliatory attacks. One can understand this, but rather than protect the churches from further jihad attacks, Sri Lankan authorities have “ordered the country’s religious leaders to keep all Catholic churches closed and not to hold prayer services” until further notice. Then why not order the same closure for mosques?
One must also remember that “Indian intelligence officials warned their Sri Lankan counterparts of the attack just hours before the first bomb was detonated, but the Sri Lankans failed to act,” and they continue to fail the country’s Christians. Also, the Sri Lankan archbishop Malcolm Ranjith believed Muslim envoys from jihad sponsoring states who assured him that the jihad bombings had “no connection to Islam.” How shameful that Ranjith would believe this, given the pervasiveness of Christian persecution in Islamic nations.
Israel has issued a warning to Israelis to get out of Sri Lanka and told those planning trips there to cancel them, because the jihad threat continues. No country is more aware of the jihad daily. This warning should be heeded by all foreign Christians as well, particularly given the failure of Sri Lanka to protect its peaceful Christians when the government knew attacks were imminent; and also given the appalling followup by the Sri Lankan government and the Sri Lankan archbishop.
“Sri Lanka Deploys Security to Mosques After Fired Official Said Protecting Churches ‘Impossible,’” by Edwin Mora, Breitbart, April 26, 2019:
Sri Lanka deployed thousands of security forces on Friday to protect mosques and other worshipping centers across the island nation against potential retaliatory violence in the wake of the jihadi suicide bombings against Christians on Easter Sunday.
President Maithripala Sirisena granted the military sweeping police powers after the bombings.
The deployment of security forces to protect mosques and other religious centers came after the country’s now-deposed defense minister, Hemasiri Fernando, reportedly claimed it would have been “impossible” to protect the Christians targeted by the jihadis despite receiving prior intelligence about the attacks.
“It was quite impossible to protect a large number of churches last Sunday despite receiving prior information about these attacks,” Fernando told reporters, referring to the assault that primarily targeted Christians at churches and luxury hotels, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported this week.
The jihadis, allegedly on behalf of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL), targeted three churches and four hotels, killing more than 350 and wounding about 500 others, including Americans.
Fernando “said that the government did not expect an attack of such magnitude to occur and the extensive measures to prevent the bombings would have been impossible,” PTI reported.
“An emergency law is non-functional in this country since Sri Lanka is a democratic country. Therefore, there is very little I can do,” the defense secretary proclaimed.
On Wednesday, Sirisena urged the defense minister and the country’s police chief to quit for withholding and failing to act on intelligence about potential terrorist attacks that came to them before the Easter Sunday carnage.
Fernando resigned the following day, the Colombo Telegraph noted.
Without explicitly identifying anyone, Lakshman Kiriella, a top Sri Lankan lawmaker, revealed, “Some top intelligence officials hid the intelligence information purposefully. Information was there, but the top brass security officials did not take appropriate actions.”
The Sri Lankan government has deployed “nearly 10,000 soldiers” across the Indian Ocean island nation…

Nonetheless. Even if inadvertently, you might have a point. Of course, failure to act on such critical intelligence, could be a case of official incompetence. It could even be cowardice. Even the Obama administration was thoroughly compromised.

Turning the other cheek is a peron-to-person principal which does NOT apply

I am no pacifist. and trust me, I am not slumbering on this matter. I do not say that the Christians here should turn the other cheek. They should defend themselves and they should protect themselves against ISIS, home grown jihadists or any creed or nationality.
I am saying there will never be retaliotory attacks by CHristians on Mosques or temples. Remember the Christian church has been persecuted for years, and centures here. Persecution is nothing new. Only its a different more visible scale.
Just the week before, on Palm Sunday a Buddhist mob surrounded by own priests service in Anuradhapura the holiest city for Buddhists, while he was carrying out his Palm Sunday service in a village close to the city.
They locked the priest and his followers into the church building and threw stones and threatened them.
Priests and Christians have been assaulted, raped, churches burnt and some even murdered over the past. Hundreds. But none of these are covered

Well-said, Dimitri!
It is an open season for Christians, because Christians are seen by others as sheepish, weak and cowardly, these same terrorists would think twice before attacking Buddhists, Hindus and others because they know they will fight back!
PS: There is a universal principal working through and within everything in the universe and it is called ‘the principal of gender’ or ying yang principal also known as the principal of ‘severity and mercy’ by ancient Jewish mystics. This principal works in religions as well and even God Himself displays this principal in His dealings with the universe. The problem is that Christians are displaying intentionally the mercy/love (feminine) side of this principal while rejecting the (severity) justice or masculine side this principal and this is proofing catastrophic for Christianity and it won’t work! (Deep stuff, ignore it of you can’t understand it!)
mortimer says
Dmitri is correct. There is close to a zero % likelihood of a terrorist attack organized by a church in Sri Lanka. Christianity does not have a VENGEANCE DOCTRINE as does Islam. Jesus said that vengeance belongs to God and God will repay evildoers. The god of Islam, however, calls on Muslims to seek revenge.
Moreover, we now know that the attacks on Christians in Sri Lanka were RETALIATORY RETRIBUTION for the mosque attack in New Zealand. Those organizing the Sri Lankan attacks were related to people in the mosques in New Zealand.
Whether you call it “Retribution, Retaliation, Revenge, Recompense, Reprisal or Vengeance”, retribution is a COMPULSORY Islamic teaching!
-K.11.173 “Believers, retaliation is decreed for you in bloodshed.”
-K.2.178 “O you who believe! Retaliation is prescribed for you in the matter of the slain.”
– K.5:33 “The reprisal against those who wage war on Allah and His Messenger, and go about the earth corrupting it, is that they should be killed or crucified, or have their alternate hands and feet cut off, or be banished from the land.” Waging war against Allah is rejecting Him.”–Tafsir of Imam al-Bukhari
Sun says
I hardly believe that the attacks on Christians in Sri Lanka was a retaliation for the mosque attack in New Zealand. In Sri Lanka, it seemed to be well planned, over seventy people were arrested so far, the police found an amazing amount of weapons and bombs distributed over the island.
In my view, this was palanned over several months and the IS statement was just a pretext. Attacks on Chrisitans in Sri Lanka would have happened anyway.
somehistory says
Sun
Out of all of the reports I have read, only one guy said it was for NZ and other people said not. Only one guy saying it. I don’t believe it was “because” of NZ. I believe it was because they wanted to hit the churches in that island country and then pulled it off because the government refused to act on the warnings given.
I may be a minority of one, but I am still suspicious of the “attack” in NZ. I’m not sure, but have a suspicion of it being planned by moslims. After all, there was a fire at a moslim barracks in Houston and it was started…on purpose…by a moslim member. He was charged with arson. After the moslim tried to blame others.
And I don’t recall if there was ever an arrest in the bombing of one of the rooms at another barracks where no one was in the particular room at the time. I think with each one, the reaction was not as great as they wanted. Until NZ.

It looks as though these massive and complex attacks had been planned for some time–the plot probably much predates the NZ Mosque shootings. And–as I have noted–Sri Lankan Christians had nothing to do with these shootings, anyway.

I have a question for you:
As seen in the video below, Jewish liberals in the West wen to mosques and fraternized with muslims in the West after the N.Z mosque shooting or whenever muslims play their victim cards in the West. Now in Sri Lanka, hundreds of Christians lie dead and wounded in the Easter jihad attacks there and NO Jewish group went to church and/or expressed the same compassion and solidarity to Christians anywhere. I am *so* sick of this from christianblood.
First–and he has done this many times–implied that since Mortimer has in the past criticized christianblood’s demand that God allow Muslims to conquer the West that this means that Mortimer must be Jewish. This is what Muslims do–assume that anyone who is anti-Jihad must be Jewish. Never mind that Mortimer has never indicated that he is Jewish–or Gentile, either. It has just never come up.
But christianblood regularly rants about Mortimer’s “tribe” here.
Then there is this specific claim–that Jews must hate Christians because the Sri Lankan Jewish community did not reach out to Christians there. He has posted similar claims at least a half dozen times here since the Jihad terror attacks on Easter.
There is only one problem with this–there *is no Sri Lankan Jewish community*:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Sri_Lanka
“Neither practising Jews, nor people who preserved a knowledge of being descendants of Jews, appear to have survived…”
The thing is, christianblood *knows this*, because I have pointed it out to him every time–and he continues to ignore it.
Meanwhile, back in reality, Israel was the first nation to reach out to Sri Lanka in the wake of the Jihad terror attacks:
“Israel offers aid to Sri Lanka in call after devastating bombings”
https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-offers-aid-to-sri-lanka-in-call-after-devastating-bombings/
christianblood has, of course, ignored this as well.
Most notable is that as much as he has falsely condemned Jews for supposedly not doing more for Christians in Sri Lanka, he has refused to condemn the Jihad terror attacks themselves–even when prompted to a dozen times at this point. Very troubling.

Stop distorting my words. I never assumed that there are Jews in Sri Lanka. What I am saying is that after the mosque attack in N.Z
Jews in the West went to mosques and showed solidarity to muslims
in the West as the video below is clearly showing. Now, after the jihadist mass-murder in Sri Lanka, NO Jewish organization went to Christian churches in the West and showed solidarity to Christians. My question is why? Why show solidarity to muslims and their mosques but NOT to Christians? Pausing for your answers!

(This group is a bit too left-of-center for my taste, but that is another matter)
And I see that there is nothing Israel can do that is enough for christianblood–but this should not surprise, since he says God supports those Jihadists who want her destroyed.
Meanwhile, of course, christianblood says *nothing* critical of the actual Jihad terrorists who murdered so many Christians in Sri Lanka, despite being asked to at least a dozen times in the past week.
But why should this surprise? What is bloody Jihad murder, compared to christianblood ranting about the Jews again?

And now–over a week since these horrific Jihad terror attacks–christianblood has *still* not condemned the Jihadists.

The island is mainly Buddhists. They don’t like the Christians either, even though it’s the moslims that show their hatred of both Christians and Buddhists. The government allowed the destruction of the churches even though they knew it was coming. Why?,,, because they didn’t wish to prevent the destruction. One paragraph in the story highlights that fact:
“Fernando “said that the government did not expect an attack of such magnitude to occur and the extensive measures to prevent the bombings would have been impossible,” PTI reported.”
***************************************
He said they “did not expect an attack of such magnitude”….Since they “expected an attack”…but didn’t think it would be so big…why didn’t they have the ability to protect a smaller number of churches? Why didn’t they try? How else would they know it would have been “impossible” to protect them?
Of course they Knew what “magnitude” was going to happen….and didn’t try to stop any of it. They didn’t even warn the churches such an attack was coming. Even if they thought it would be small…and didn’t think they could prevent even one church from being bombed…why didn’t they warn all of the churches so the people could take their own safety measures?
Because they wanted it to happen. Then they can say they weren’t able to stop it because the “magnitude” made it “impossible.” They had to know what “magnitude” was coming in order to be able to say protecting from it was “impossible.” And now, they can use their former behavior of not protecting, trying to protect or even warning…as a way to shut down the churches entirely.
They’ll “protect” the moslims’ barracks from themselves as they are very aware that Christians won’t do anything against them or the moslims…and the moslims are the ones who bombed the hotels and churches and planned further bombings.
This whole thing is one big evil in a world of increasing evil. One church had twenty children killed. Innocent little kids.
