Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Texas: Muslim teen plotted jihad massacre at mall — “we will cast terror into your hearts as Allah commanded us”

Apr 9, 2019 3:00 pm By Robert Spencer

“You can move to another country that is not fighting the muslims but of course you want your easy lives in America so we will cast terror into your hearts as Allah commanded us.”

“And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may strike terror into the hearts of the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know, whom Allah knows.” (Qur’an 8:60)

“Teen ‘lone wolf’ gets 20 years in prison for terrorism plot to shoot up Frisco Mall,” by Kevin Krause, Dallas News, April 8, 2019:

MCKINNEY — A former Plano high school student was sentenced Monday to 20 years in state prison after pleading guilty to an ISIS-inspired plot to commit mass murder at a Collin County mall.

Matin Azizi-Yarand, 18, discussed his plans with an undercover FBI employee to “run and gun” with firearms blazing at the Stonebriar Centre Mall in Frisco and to kill civilians and police officers during the slaughter….

The former Plano West Senior High School student reached out online for help with the terrorist plot. He planned it for May 2018 during Ramadan so no Muslims would be hurt, Brown said. Ramadan is Islam’s holiest month and includes prayers, fasting from dawn to dusk and nightly feasts.

“He did not think Muslims would be in the mall during a Muslim holiday,” Brown said.

Azizi-Yarand sent more than $1,400 to an undercover FBI employee to buy weapons and tactical gear, and he conducted surveillance of the mall during the planning stages to learn the layout, authorities said.

During one conversation, he allegedly said: “I’d actually like to make a cop surrender and drop his gun // Then douse him with gasoline and burn him // record it,” according to court records.

Authorities said Azizi-Yarand acted alone and that no others are implicated in the terrorism plot. His attorney and family could not be reached for comment.

Brown said the teen could have spent the rest of his life in prison had he opted for a trial and been convicted. Azizi-Yarand has been in custody since his arrest last year.

Brown said Azizi-Yarand was motivated by his allegiance to ISIS and had professed his hatred for the U.S. in writings he called a “Message to America” that expressed his “twisted beliefs.”

“This was no distant dream for this young man,” Brown said.

He said the attack was well-planned and imminent.

Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said the mass-shooting was “stopped in its tracks.”…

The teen stated that his plan was to cause financial damage, “setting stores on fire // gasoline // match // we won’t suffocate to death,” according to a probable cause affidavit.

Several juniors at Plano West Senior High told The Dallas Morning News last year that they knew Azizi-Yarand as a quiet teen who kept to himself.

They said the only time they had seen him excited was during their freshman year, when he talked about converting to Islam….

The teen began communicating online in December 2017 with “an FBI confidential human source” about his desire to either “make hijrah [travel]” or to commit a terrorist attack within the United States, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Azizi-Yarand’s messages often referred to his contacts as akhi, Arabic for “my brother.”

“Look at all the other lone wolves // What training did they have yet they simply killed the kuffar?” he wrote, using a derogatory Arabic term for disbelievers. “The brothers in Europe the brother in Spain the brother in New York? Had no limitary [sic] training // it’s not about numbers it’s about getting a message across to these taghut countries // it’s dangerous tho akhi we have to be careful some have gotten arrested // so we good brother?”
Killing Americans

Azizi-Yarand said he wanted to wait until he was 18 so he could buy a rifle himself, the affidavit said.

“But I swear I want to achieve Allahs [God’s] pleasure and kill the kuffar,” he said, according to the affidavit. “I’ve only been reading ISIS magazine guides for performing operations and making bombs.”

He allegedly also told the FBI source that he had learned about Islam and ISIS on the internet. In one message, he said he had settled on a local attack. “The isis guy said // We should attack America … Are you fine with killing some Americans,” he wrote, according to the affidavit.

The teen also allegedly sent the source several types of ISIS propaganda. There were links to videos about life in the Islamic State and about being a martyr, as well as an image with the ISIS flag and a gun and the text “Jihad [Struggle/Fight] and the rifle alone. NO negotiations, NO conferences and NO dialogue,” according to the affidavit.

In one message to the undercover employee, Azizi-Yarand allegedly said, “I’m expecting each of us having 10 mags minimum // So for that you’d need 900 rounds.”

There was also talk about getting in shape physically for the attack. The teen told his confidential source to “take note of increasing cardio // try going to the gym // increasing stamina // can’t shoot out of breath and shaking // because remember we ain’t shooting paper targets,” the affidavit says.

And Azizi-Yarand had written a speech that said in part: “before you call us evil people look your selves this is only revenge you have started this war with us it will never end. We target your people as revenge for ours who were slaughtered … You can move to another country that is not fighting the muslims but of course you want your easy lives in America so we will cast terror into your hearts as Allah commanded us.”

Thankfully, with the divine intervention of the lord along with the FBI, this insane teen was stopped!
He is the enemy within!! How could his parents be unaware of this?? This is a scenario that is frightening!
God bless and save America! And the FBI! See something, say something!!!
Trump 2020. Our only hope! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I find it interesting that ‘Lord’ is spelled ‘lord,’ and ‘trump’ is spelled ‘Trump.’
So if Trump is ‘our only hope’ and he doesn’t win in 2020, God can’t help us in some other way?
I see so much of this… I just had to ‘say something.’
      Sorry…. I’m not trying to be a nitpick but….

Anyways… on another note, a rebuttal here is even more urgent:
“before you call us evil people look your selves” (yeah, and? We don’t go around shooting up malls full of innocent people!)

“this is only revenge you have started this war with us it will never end. We target your people as revenge for ours who were slaughtered …” (Uh, wrong. We were here first. We were peaceful civilizations. Then you came along and were not peaceful because your ‘allah’ told you not to be. So the revenge was ours, not yours to be had. That was the justice, not the other way around. Checkmate!!!)

“You can move to another country that is not fighting the muslims but of course you want your easy lives in America so we will cast terror into your hearts as Allah commanded us.”
(Point above verified! ‘allah’ commanded evil out of nowhere! So the justice was our revenge, not yours. Checkmark on that one!) (The first part doesn’t even make sense, if we have to move to another country that does not need to fight muslims so we will have it ‘easy’, because they are the aggressors {checkmark again!} that we have to fight, then it is not ‘easy’ here, then he claims we have ‘easy lives’ in America… another example of illogical minds at work. Then you have the countries that have already caved to the muslims so they are not fighting them… and those lives are not easy at all.) (And then… when the shoe is on the other foot… and fear is cast into their hearts… as in NZ… then they cry wa! wa! poor me!)
(Lastly, they won’t ‘cast any terror’ into my heart because I have God’s peace in mine and there is no room for fear of what mere man can do to me!)

Satan knows the mindset of this stupid young man and knew how to bend it to his will as he does all who have the same mindset of the boy..
Once again we see the failure of the family unit..either that or the family is of the same mind.
The FBI has gotten a bad name recently From the Clinton fiasco forward ..but hey..They did a superb job here..just think of the deaths that they may have saved had this boy completed his Satan driven task.

“Your easy lives” he says…while he lives in a very prosperous city in Texas. How hard has he had life?

And “lone wolf” is still incorrect. He may have “acted alone” in speaking to the FBI agent and “acted alone” in sending the money and in planning where he would attack….but he had online support from other terrorists. Besides that, the whole teaching of islam is about shedding blood of inncen people who don’t wish to be moslim and worship the “beast.”

His eyes are dead, but if he is still alive in twenty years, he will be killing or planning to kill innocent people for his fake ‘god.’

      Totally agree, somehistory.

There is no “lone wolf” in my opinion. Did family/friends notice the kid getting “excited” about converting to Islam and do NOTHING? Videos, internet chat rooms, a Qur’an…

      A mosque…

      There is always support, always.

      Be well, friend!

Yes, wondering what his name was before…if his parents noticed the name change…to be a legal change, it would have to be in Court and being a minor, they would have to know. Wondering if they are also moslim. Wondering what his parents do as employment.
Lot of questions. Frito Lay is there. Imagine poisoned chips.

        Take care.

        • gravenimage says

          Apr 9, 2019 at 4:09 pm

Either his parents allowed him to legally change his name, or else he legally changed it as soon as he turned 18. If this were not the case, then police would be referring to him by his Infidel birth name.

        • somehistory says

          Apr 9, 2019 at 4:55 pm

In Texas, he would have to be “over 18” to legally change his name. And a Judge has to approve the change.
Some people don’t “legally” change their name, but change it by telling other people what they want to be their name. This is how people get the a.k.a. and one or more names after their legal name. It is not illegal to change one’s name without going through the courts…as long as it is not for an illegal purpose. Just look at actors for example.

What I am wondering is, did his parents okay his name change. If he got a paper from his parents, the school system could allow him to use an alternate name. It seems he became moslim during his “freshman year”…not yet an adult…and unless he failed a lot, not “over 18.”

Hmmmm… so Matin Azizi-Yarand plotted to MURDER people in the modern equivalent of a MARKET SQUARE … hmmmm … I wonder where he got THAT idea ??? Hmmm …

The Banu Qurayza were a Jewish tribe which lived in Medina … when the Qurayza tried to remain neutral Mohammed found the perfect pretext to murder them, enslave them and take all their money! Brilliant, Mohammed, brilliant.

“Then they (the Jews) surrendered, and the apostle confined them in Medina in the quarter of al-Harith. Then the apostle went out to the MARKET of Medina (which is still its MARKET today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. Among them was the enemy of Allah Huyayy b. Akhtab and Ka`b b. Asad their chief. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900.” – Guillaume, p. 461-464.

Yeah, that’s it … just like Mohammed … kill innocent people in a MARKET.

“Matin” means “mighty, strong, or powerful” in Arabic, and is an attribute of “Allah”. Azizi means “my dear”, or “beloved”, and “Yarand” is “strength” and “courage”.

Texas: Muslim teen plotted jihad massacre at mall — “we will cast terror into your hearts as Allah commanded us”
    …………………………

Remember when teens just wanted to hang out at the mall? Not pious Muslims…

    More:

And Azizi-Yarand had written a speech that said in part: “before you call us evil people look your selves this is only revenge you have started this war with us it will never end. We target your people as revenge for ours who were slaughtered … You can move to another country that is not fighting the muslims but of course you want your easy lives in America so we will cast terror into your hearts as Allah commanded us.”
    …………………………

“Fighting the Muslims”–this means *any* defense against Jihad. It is also turning things around–pretending that the cause of Jihad is any defense against it.

And of course non-Muslims did not start this war–Muslims did, 1400 years ago.

    More:

The former Plano West Senior High School student reached out online for help with the terrorist plot. He planned it for May 2018 during Ramadan so no Muslims would be hurt
    …………………………

This is common. During the attack on the mall in Kenya, Jihadists quizzed many of their victims, murdering the ones who could not prove they were Muslim.

    More:

During one conversation, he allegedly said: “I’d actually like to make a cop surrender and drop his gun // Then douse him with gasoline and burn him // record it,” according to court records.
    …………………………

This is unlikely, of course–but shows where this pious Jihadist’s head was at.

    More:

Brown said the teen could have spent the rest of his life in prison had he opted for a trial and been convicted. Azizi-Yarand has been in custody since his arrest last year.
    …………………………

He’ll be 38 when he gets out–earlier, with good behavior or just a reaction to overcrowding. Still spry enough to plot the mass murder of Infidels…

    More:

The teen stated that his plan was to cause financial damage, “setting stores on fire // gasoline // match // we won’t suffocate to death,” according to a probable cause affidavit.
    …………………………

Yes–obviously Muslims love blood and death, but causing financial harm is also a major goal–Osama bin Laden explicitly stated this re 9/11. As well as everything else, Jihad is costing us a fortune. How long can even wealthy nations continue to absorb these costs–both of Jihad terror attacks and the police work it took to take down this wanna be Jihadist?

This ISIS influenced Muslim teenager with his Islamic scheming to inflect violent and deadly jihad attacks in Texas reflects the teaching of the “holy book” of Islam, the Quran. g,

I read the article. and then I did some research and I think his family is moslim based on what else I found. he may not have talked about it at school, but then he began talking on line to terrorists. He may have been closely restricted by his parents as to what he could do and not do with the other kids at school. this terror plot could have been his way to assert himself…much like the girl from Alabama who said she wasn’t allowed to do anything because her parents were strict…and then she joined isis.

Other reports do not say anything about him “converting”…they just say “moslim youth” or “moslim teenager.”

I just believe he already was a moslim and just decided to become active in carrying out what islam tells them to do. And he will be eligible for parole in 10 years. The man named “Brown” in this quoted article is a U.S. Attorney, who might have tried the case had this terrorist been older. because terrorists are usually charged in Federal Court. This article left out a lot of information about this planned attack.

I read most of the article. The guy who wrote it is a moslim on the board of cair. How can anyone believe anything this guy wrote?

None of the students were ‘suspects.” If a shooting by the terrorist had occurred at the school, and students were standing around when it happened and the cops showed up, all of those standing around would be questioned about what they saw and heard. It seems this questioning…if it took place as this cair moslim wrote…it is no different.

If they believe someone is guilty, they must warn them that whatever they say can and will…and give the person opportunity to call a lawyer…or in the case of a minor…a parent.

This moslim “spoke only with moslim students.” He didn’t speak with any others, so how can he know for sure that none were interviewed? He can’t. I don’t believe a word of what he wrote except that he is moslim, on the board of cair and that he spoke to all of the moslim students at the school…. to see if he cold get a complaint and a suit going.

      • somehistory says

        Apr 10, 2019 at 6:03 pm

Besides this, when a crime is committed, the cops…or FBI…will speak with anyone they can to find out who knew the suspect, how well known, when last spoke, what talked about and if the suspect is being hunted, they ask if the person being interviewed might know the whereabouts.

moslims all attend the same place to prey. They themselves say that they are a “community’ and generally know each other. In school, kids tend to group with those like themselves…football players don’t usually hang out with the debate or chess team, and vice versa. So the cops would not be doing their job if they neglected to talk to the moslim students and as long as these were “interviews’ and not “interrogations” there is no reason to complain….unless one is a moslim and wants to get some money and attention and put a little fear in the authorities.

Anyway, it is a kind of “profiling”…but not like moslims…esp those with cair…would like us all to believe. They have to find out who knew the perp…or alleged perp…and that means finding out what kind of person he was, who his friends were, etc. Just as they interview the family of a suspect, his “known associates” are also questioned. Who else is going to know stuff about the suspect than those who are his friends, family, etc.?
cair always gets in on it…trying to make trouble by making claims. As for them being charged with “perjury”…that only happens when a person is caught lying in Court and they don’t correct it. So, if one of the students said something incorrect, and later said something different in Court, or vice/versa, he/she would be asked again so he/she could clarify. Caught actually lying is when they are charged with perjury. This moslim lawyer is trying to cause a ruckus…and exaggerating.

Like a poster is asked when was the last time you commented online? The poster tells the cop, “last Friday, the 12th.” Months later, in Court, the poster is asked, when was the last time you commented online/ “I think it was the middle of April, the 15th.” Prosecutor, you told officer Jones it was Fri the 12. “Oh, well I guess I’m remembering wrong. That was a long time ago.’ Two different answers, but it is only a mistake, not a deliberate lie.
