Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

The 11 countries where being gay is punishable by death are all majority-Muslim

Apr 8, 2019 2:00 pm By Robert Spencer

No surprise here. The Qur’an contains numerous condemnations of homosexual activity: “And Lot when he said to his people, ‘Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds? Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.’…And We rained upon them a rain of stones. Then see how was the end of the criminals.” (Qur’an 7:80-84)

Muhammad specifies the punishment for this in a hadith: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.’” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4462)

Will gay rights advocates say a word about this? Of course not. It has long been established that in the hierarchy of politically correct causes, Islam trumps gay rights. When AFDI ran ads highlighting the mistreatment of gays in Islamic law, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors issued a resolution condemning not that mistreatment, but our ads. Gay advocates such as Theresa Sparks and Chris Stedman attacked us for daring to call attention to the institutionalized mistreatment of gays under Islamic law. It was that, or risk not being invited to the best parties.

“Here are the 11 countries where being gay is punishable by death,” by Daniel Megarry, Gay Times, April 5, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

There are currently 11 countries where being gay can get you killed under law.

While LGBTQ rights have made great strides in parts of the world, homosexuality remains illegal in an estimated 70 countries, and 11 countries carry the potential for the death penalty, particularly among men who have sex with men.

It’s difficult to identify which countries actually enforce the death penalty punishment, or how often they do so, but using data from ILGA, we’ve listed the countries where the death penalty is a possibility for LGB people below.

Afghanistan

What the law says: “Those who commit sodomy, shall be sentenced to medium imprisonment not exceeding two years.” (Penal Code, 2017; Section 647) “A person, defending his honour, who sees his spouse or another of his close relations in the act of committing adultery or being in the same bed with another and immediately kills or injures one or both of them shall be exempted from punishment for laceration and murder but shall be imprisoned for a period not exceeding two years.” (Penal Code, 2017; Article 398)

While the act of same-sex intercourse may not result in the death penalty under Afghanistan’s penal code, honour killings of LGBTQ people by family members aren’t treated as murder and those who commit them will not face more than two years in prison. It is also possible that those engaging in same-sex intercourse in Afghanistan may face the death penalty for violating Sharia law, which is more likely to be happen in smaller, rural locations.

Brunei

What the law says: “Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman, or animal, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 10 years, and shall also be liable to fine.” (Penal Code, 2001; Chapter 22, Section 377)

The newest addition to this list, homosexuality was already punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment in Brunei, but the south-east Asian nation has recently implemented a strict new law that punishes male same-sex activity with death by stoning. Sex acts between women carry a penalty of 40 strokes of the cane along with a possible maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Iran

What the law says: “The hadd punishment for livat [sodomy] shall be the death penalty for the insertive party if he has committed livat by using force, coercion, or in cases where he meets the conditions for ihsan [married to a woman]; otherwise, he shall be sentenced to one hundred lashes. The hadd punishment for the receptive party, in any case (whether or not he meets the conditions for ihsan) shall be the death penalty.” (Islamic Penal Code, 2013; Article 234)

The maximum penalty for men who have sex with men in Iran is the death penalty. Women who have sex with women face one hundred lashes.

Mauritania

What the law says: “Any adult Muslim man who commits an indecent act or an act against nature with an individual of his sex will face the penalty of death by public stoning.” (Penal Code, 1984; Article 308)

Mauritania’s Penal Code criminalises same-sex activity for both men and women, but with different punishments. Muslim men may receive a sentence of “death by public stoning” while women may receive between three months and two years imprisonment, as well as a fine of 5,000 to 60,000 UM…

Regarding the segment on the Islamic law in Iran which warrants the death penalty for homosexuals.
To add to this above information is the following essay .

The tile of this message is well put if it would be “homosexuals in Iran” and not “Homosexuals who live in Iran.” For many of them are six feet under in Iran as in dead and buried. As exposed in a book by a former Muslims .Which reveals that “Estimates by human rights activists and opponents of the Islamic Republic of Iran of the number of gay men and lesbian s executed for crimes related to their sexual orientation since 1979 vary between several hundred to as many as six thousand. According to the Boroumand Foundation, records exist for at least 107 executions with charges related to homosexuality between 1979 and 1990 . Iran is one of the eight countries in the world when homosexual acts are punishable by death; all are Islamic. According to a 2013 report from the IHRDC:” [1]

When it comes to morality, what is “clean and unclean” in regard to intimacy, I agree wholeheartedly with the Bible. As a Christian, this is what I would say to anyone who asks.
However, I have worked with, sitting right next to, and having supervisors who, don’t see things that way. We had a working relationship only. They would refrain, as did other co-workers, from using foul or obscene language in my presence and apologized if they slipped.
In no way did I think of harming them or even saying what I felt personally about the way they chose to live…and they talked about it freely in my presence and to me.

moslims are totally different. They read a book that approves of anything the devil can think up. They believe they have the right to kill those who disagree. But, they engage in what they are killing for…only they try to hide the fact by “forcing” it upon others.

And they do hideous things to little children. They are not content to do evil in this way, but they force their way on everyone else.

It’s truly bizarre that those whom moslims condemn still support moslims in what they are trying to do…take over all countries for islam. If they manage to reach this goal, they will kill everywhere…and enjoy doing it. They lust for killing.

TILT! TILT! MAJOR COGNITIVE DISSONANCE FOR LEFTARDS !! ISLAM IS HOMOPHOBIC !!

With all the gay parades in so many major cities, the public in the West is VERY VERY aware of the gay issue. All Leftards support gay rights unquestioningly. Now THIS comes along. Brunei.

The Leftards’ precious ISLAMIC PETS are pissing on the rug! They are chewing the furniture! They are snarling at the children. What to do?

The Leftards can’t ignore the THROW-THE-GAYS-OFF-THE-ROOF punishment of Sharia law.

Their cognitive dissonance is popping out of control now. The Leftards were able to put on hijabs and pretend that patriarchal repression is ‘feminist’, even though Muslim girls were strangled with hijabs.

The Leftards are NOT going to be able to support THROW-GAYS-OFF-THE-ROOF, in order to CLAIM that SHARIA LAW is ‘GAY-POSITIVE’ and SUPPORTIVE OF GAYS … in a similar, dumb, lying way, that they previously claimed that patriarchal Sharia law is ‘feminist’.

The LEFTARDS have now HIT A BIG BRICK WALL WITH SHARIA LAW in Brunei. They can no longer pretend that Islam is BENIGN or PEACEFUL. ISLAM KILLS GAYS … EXTERMINATES THEM LIKE MICE.

Islam is DISCRIMINATORY, BIGOTED, HOMOPHOBIC, XENOPHOBIC and MISOGYNISTIC.

Here, again, is another reminder of the “joke” that is not really supposed to be funny but to make a point . This “joke is about the different kinds of negative kind of behavior of a Fundamentalist Baptist Christian male and the kind of behavior of a Fundamentalist Salafist Muslim male when they encounter, at different times, a homosexual man. For when a Fundamentalist Baptist Christian man meets a “gay” man, that type of Christian will say many very ignorant things to him and as a result of those ignorant things said that “gay” man will end up with a headache. In contrast, when a Fundamentalist Salafist Muslim man encounters a homosexual man, that type of Muslim will cut that “gay” man’s head off.

It was illegal in the U.S. The last time it was enforced, was in TX and the guy charged, tried and found guilty took his case to the SC and they ruled the law in Texas “unconstitutional.” His last name was Lawrence, if you wish to look it up. Not that long ago.
But the original laws in many States ruled homosexuality illegal. Punishments varied across the States.

          Apr 9, 2019 at 8:57 pm

That just goes to show that we in the West have made progress when it comes to basic human rights. According to that ruling (in 2003, you are right, that’s very recent) anti-sodomy laws were struck down in all 13 states where they still existed, thus making it federal law. What two consenting adults want to do with each other is their right as human beings. We should all be proud of our Supreme Court for their ruling on this matter. That is what makes our culture better (yes, I said BETTER) than theirs. And as we progress as a species in this modern technological society, islam wants to turn back the clock. Islam itself needs to be poked, prodded, and criticized. Unfortunately, we live in a time where an honest conversation about the actual tenets of islam has become nearly impossible because of the social backlash (racist! xenophobe! islamophobe!). God help us all…

    • eduardo odraude says

      Apr 8, 2019 at 9:07 pm

Jh, I suppose what happens is that, because unrelated men and women are more or less segregated from each other or very strictly chaparoned in a lot of the Muslim world, and heterosexual sex outside marriage is not available, unmarried males feel compelled to turn to the only available substitutes, boys or other males, since they are not segregated from each other or chaparoned. In short it’s somewhat like all-male prison in the US in terms of sex. Men who are not gay, if they are in prison for a long time, often turn to sex with men as a substitute.

  12. eduardo odraude says

    Apr 8, 2019 at 8:59 pm

“The 11 countries where being gay is punishable by death are all majority-Muslim”

Every gay person needs to know this. Too many of them think it is bigoted to have concerns about increasing numbers of Muslim immigrants. Really, Jews, women, gays, Hindus, and Christians should all be seeking to minimize that kind of immigration.

After years of disliking the term “Islamist”, because it seemed to me to perpetuate the fiction that Islam is something different from Islamism, I see some advantages to some kinds of use of the term Islamism, as long as one acknowledges that “Islamism” tends to be normative mainstream Islam. In other words, one points out that Islam is to a large extent Islamism, but at the same time one divides the Muslims who want sharia law (Islamists), from the Muslims who don’t care or don’t want sharia (modernizers). Why is that an advantage? Because the mainstream of non-Muslims insists that Islam as a whole must not be painted with a negative brush. We must acknowledge that there are some Muslims who don’t want sharia. Well, I say we Islam-critics can have our cake and eat it too — we can disarm the mainstream by distinguishing between “Islamists” and Islam, but at the same time we can make clear that “Islamism” is the majority interpretation of Islam globally. Thus we can use “Islamism” as a term in order to disarm social opposition to our criticisms of Islam, and having disarmed the opposition, then drive home the fact that usually Islamism and Islam are one and the same. It seems to me that strategically that is probably the best way to go, and perhaps the most truthful.
