The United Kingdom’s foreign secretary is urging Parliament to withhold aid to nations in which Christians are persecuted. “‘I think we should do more for the estimated 240 million Christians who face persecution for their faith around the world,’ Jeremy Hunt told members of parliament.”
It is worthwhile to note that all but two of the top 17 states where Christians are most persecuted in the world are Muslim countries.
While Jeremy Hunt is urging Britain to do more to help persecuted Christians, given the deplorable record of the UK government in kowtowing to Muslims, it is highly unlikely that anything will be done, beyond a false public impression created that the UK actually cares about persecuted Christians.
Take some recent examples in the UK:
- The asylum application of a Christian family facing a death fatwa in Pakistan was rejected by the UK Home Office three times;
- The UK also deported a Christian back to Pakistan despite his receiving beatings and threats from Muslims in that country;
- The UK Home Office rejected the asylum bid of an Iranian convert to Christianity, mocking him and saying that “Christianity is not a religion of peace.” The Home Office also made fun of the Iranian national for believing in Christ and wrote to him: “You affirmed in your AIR that Jesus is your saviour, but then claimed that He would not be able to save you from the Iranian regime….It is therefore considered that you have no conviction in your faith and your belief in Jesus is half-hearted.”
- The British government barred Asia Bibi from entering the country, for fear that if she did, Muslims would riot.
If the UK decides to help Christians, this would be something to be celebrated, but evidence suggests that nothing will be done.
“U.K. Considers Linking Foreign Aid To Persecution of Christians,” World Net Daily, April 6, 2019:
The United Kingdom’s foreign secretary is urging Parliament to withhold aid to nations in which Christians are persecuted.
“I think we should do more for the estimated 240 million Christians who face persecution for their faith around the world,” Jeremy Hunt told members of parliament.
The U.K.’s foreign aid budget in 2017 was about $18 billion.
Hunt, responding to questions from lawmakers, said an ongoing review will ensure the U.K. is pressuring nations in which Christians are persecuted.
“Where the U.K. makes large aid payments, such as in Afghanistan,” he said, “it is absolutely essential that we make it clear to the government in those countries that we are expecting progress on freedom of religious belief.”
The review, led by Philip Mounstephen, the bishop of Truro, monitors persecution of Christians in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The review will assess how much support the U.K. currently provides and recommend how government ministers should respond.
Hunt cited the worldwide Christian group Open Doors’ estimate that more than 4,300 Christians were killed because of their faith over the last year.
The U.K.’s Christian Institute said the real figure probably is much higher, as friends and relatives of victims often are afraid to report incidents.
In the meeting with lawmakers, Hunt was asked about Open Doors’ prediction of a 14 percent increase in persecution of Christians this year.
Hunt said Open Doors has documented four out of five people worldwide who suffer persecution for their faith are Christians.
“The most striking statement [in the Open Doors report] is that the vast majority are in the very poorest countries: this is not, on the whole, a problem affecting people who live in affluent countries,” Hunt told lawmakers…..

What does it take to recognize, understand and accept that the UK is under the total control of muslims? The continuing denial is just as unjustified as the “delusion of reprieve” practiced by inmates of Nazi death camps. Until the vast level of muslim control is recognized NOTHING will be done to change the status.
gravenimage says
Well, not *entirely* under their control, Frank. The Foreign Secretary isn’t. Whether this will be enough to get anything done there is, of course, another question.

Yeah Graven ….he just may be the only one though. His plea will probably fall on deaf ears ..Too many cowards in the May administration..Just a game follow the leader. Anjuli Pandavar says
Agreed. And so confident are those Muslims in the strength of that control that they can dispense with even a pretence at law, and can indulge in mocking (actually abusing) the applicants in their act of rejecting them. It is one huge finger to anyone who still believes that Britain is a democracy.
Those who insist on only criticising Islam and making a point of never criticising Muslims fail to grasp that Muslims are the instruments of Islam. Islam may not be in control of Britain, but Muslims are. Islam instructs that Muslims must oppress, persecute and harass dhimmis. Why in Heavan’s name would they undermine their Muslims brethren doing exactly that elsewhere by providing refuge to such dhimmis? To ignore the problem of Muslims is to pretend that Islam propagates itself. It may be the easy way out, but it’s also no way out.
It seems as if accepting that there are no longer any rules to play by leaves us at a total loss for how to proceed. It serves Muslims well that the population they intend to enslave have no means of responding except by those means that no longer exist, and so must continue to pretend that they are engaged in an effort that will eventually deliver. Case in point: Britons who want the UK to leave the EU have won a Referendum to that effect. That victory has been ignored (as what obvious would be the case from the start). Now hope is poured into the election of a party explicit and unequivocal about leaving the EU, as if such a party would be allowed to take office in the event of winning. A referendum has been betrayed, but somehow an election will not.
Westman says
This idea, “it is absolutely essential that we make it clear to the government in those countries that we are expecting progress on freedom of religious belief.”, is absolutely worthless. It is the citizens of those nations that are doing the persecuting, not the governments.
The only solution that would work is to stop foreign aid and take only Christans from those nations until the persecution stops. It isn’t governments that are sending immigrants to the West
Frank Anderson says
Westman, “immigrants” for political or economic opportunity, or “invaders” complying with a doctrine of conquest? Why are the latter uniformly favored for admission into previously free societies?
Westman says
Perhaps Theresa May could answer that question? It appears that if denying entry to jihadists will cause an uproar of the Muslims, already in the country, then the only proper action is letting them in and keeping out anyone who might upset them like, Robert Spencer, etc.
If Islamophobia is fear of Islam, then May is the Mother Of Islamophobes.

Unless Islam can be declassified as a “religion” and re-classified as a fascist ideology—“NOTHING will be done to change the status.”
We are forced to “tolerate” Islam…because of “freedom of religion”…no matter how heinous and anti-West said “religion” may be. Brits fought Nazism but then they inexplicably laid out the red carpet to allow IslamoNazism take over. It would have been better if only the atheistic Leftists maintained their hatred for ALL religions, not just Christianity, but apparently the secular atheists love the fact that Islam is anti-Christian, anti-West and anti-Jew.

Frank Anderson says
Patriot. . ., you are missing my continuing plea to recognize that islam is a “religion” that is not protected under the Constitution because it is also a Criminal Conspiracy to enslave or murder the entire world in a 1400 year campaign of violent conquest, killing between 250,000,000 and 1,000,000,000 people. Understanding that for yourself is, to me, quite simple. Robert Spencer’s Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, Bill Warner’s An Abridged Koran, and Mark Gabriel’s The Unfinished Battle. Three of the best written, most easily read expositions of the history, details and goals of islam of the many I have read.
Please start by understanding the elements of criminal conspiracy: 1) An agreement 2) Between 2 or more persons, with NO UPPER LIMIT on the number, 3) An unlawful purpose or to use unlawful means for a lawful purpose. 4) Any overt act by ANY ONE of its participants in furtherance of the goals. Every participant does not need to be aware of all the details or participate in all of the acts, only to seek the goals of the criminal enterprise.
When I was doing research for a legal war against another conspiracy the best case I found as a first case to explain the subject was United States v. Gary Greenough, 609 F.Supp 1090 (S.D.Ala. 1985), and its appellate successor at 782 F.2d 1556 (5th Cir. 1986). Just because islam MAY be a religion, does not prevent it from being a criminal conspiracy subject to the laws of the United States of America. The label religion does not shield the fact of criminal conspiracy. That is the rule that substance governs over form, long accepted in the law of the United States. There is no longer any need to find a law library to read these cases and others: They are available online.
Now find a prosecutor who will present the case, an Attorney General who will approve the prosecution and a judge who will allow the argument to be made in his court. But WE know the truth whether others will accept it or not. There is no need or sense in walking around in circles wondering “what to do? what to do? if only /”
Please consult a currently licensed attorney practicing in your jurisdiction for any legal advice.

Britain does not have a written constitution so anything about freedom of religion is just a law. Laws can be repealed and treaties exited.
The USA may need to change its Constitution but that has happened several time. The First Amendment already bans “an establishment of religion” which is the obvious intention of the Muslims.

This is astounding? Where did this come from?
Will they now call the Brits ‘white supremacists’ because they are calling for the protection of black, brown and yellow Christians.
England is the home of the Church of England, but most of the Anglicans (44 million) live in Africa.
In Nigeria, one to two thousand Christians are being murdered by Muslims every year.
The media are almost totally silent about this GENOCIDE directed by Muslims.
mortimer says
correction: This is truly astounding !!!! (I can’t understand how this happened.)
Most of the countries that persecute Christians are Muslim-majority countries.
jayell says
“England is the home of the Church of England, but most of the Anglicans (44 million) live in Africa.”……and these are the ones who are sticking the message of the Bible. The Church of England was instigated by Henry VIII for political reasons and, with the Monarch as its Head and its bishops appointed by Parliament, it’s still driven by domestic politics within the UK. Which is why its dogma will vary according to the political climate, and explains its current official attitudes towards islam since muslims have clearly infiltrated the British establishment. But it’s not a new situatiion. Try googling the old traditional English song ‘The Vicar of Bray’, which satirises the same situation back in the 1700’s.

To have any effect a change in the law will be required. Was this just a speech or was an amendment being introduced?

…………..
Good for Jeremy Hunt for speaking up!
LB says
The entire concept of foreign aid is flawed beyond belief; not just aid to muslim countries (even though they are the biggest beneficiaries of it in the entire world), but in general. All aid money goes directly to receiving country’s government which is in turn responsible to distribute that money to the needy; at least that’s how it should be in an ideal world. In reality however, the people sitting in the government are not exactly virtuous (that’s an understatement of the year), especially in musim countries, so a big portion (or all of it) goes in their pockets. PA is the perfect example of that.
Same thing with charities and non-profits. I’d wager to say that 99% of them are either full-on scams (like how pretty much all muslim charities are a front for financing terror orgs), or corrupt to the core by only dripping a tiny amount to the actual thing they want to help while they keep most of the money for themselves. Your money’s worth would be better spent if you tossed it in the fire (at least you’d be warm for a while) rather than giving it to any charity. That’s just my opinion, however it is based on numerous examples of charities turning out to be scams.
I used to think that I can make a difference, no matter how small, to make this world a less horrible place by donating some money, even though I barely had any for myself. What an idealistic moron I was.
Frank Anderson says
LB, I have very little money to contribute to all the good causes I wish to be promoting. I have to choose carefully with both my money and time, because neither are without limit. Accepting those limits could be a good step in directing what I have where the most good can be done. Some causes or groups that we think are worthy may not be as worthy as we think. But, the only risk-free environment is the grave.
gravenimage says
LB, I largely agree with you about foreign aid–where given, it should be very tightly controlled as to where it goes and how it is spent, and should certainly not become a permanent fixture, as is often the case these days.
I do, however, think you are a bit too cynical when it comes to charities in general–there *are* some good charities out there, that do some genuinely good work. One does, of course, have to investigate before giving any money.
gravenimage says
Well, not entirely under their control, Frank. The Foreign Secretary isn’t. Whether this will be enough to get anything done there is, of course, another question.
gravenimage says
This was a reply to Frank Anderson, above.
Frank Anderson says
GI, when any voice raised in challenge is completely rare and totally out of tune with the voices who have the power behind them, it is delusional to think one lone man baying in the wilderness will prevail. NAME ONE TIME where muslims have not prevailed over any challenges in the UK? Those who fight against jihadis will be prosecuted while those who fight with jihadis and commit all manner of war crimes either in person or by conspiracy, will be welcomed? How deep must a delusion become in order to be recognized?
mortimer says
This would not have happened last year. Some Arab country has fallen out with the UK and that has given them the moral leeway to proceed with this bold plan. It could be a reaction to Brunei.
Pakistan and Nigeria have a lot to lose if they do not cooperate.
Frank Anderson says
Mortimer, you may have better information than I. It would be really nice if you are correct. I suspect that when all is said and done, nothing will happen that favors Christians against muslims or islam. This is a good time to keep watching while making decisions to deal with what comes next. There is too much muslim influence in the UK and most of Europe to assume any anti-muslim resistance will get far. Half of Germany’s Jews made that mistake with Hitler. Never Again.

Or it’s just a distraction serving to point our attention in other directions.

Yes, this is a good thing that at least someone is taking a stand.
Those examples in the list about the UK go to show that in general they care nothing for the fate of persecuted Christians, and even hope for their demise. By their actions of rejecting and/or deporting Christian asylum seekers, the UK has their blood on their hands!
They take in millions of muslims but have no room for the body of Christ. The muslims attack the non muslims including Christians. Then they leave the Christians to die in muslim countries by the muslims. It was a sword on both ends. Their operations and allegiances are satanic.

Sorry, a little bit off topic, but perhaps Mr. Spencer might like to look into this (from the Local Democracy reporting Service)?……….
“Former counter-extremism co-ordinator for Waltham Forest Council is writing a national report that singles the borough out as having a “grim history of extremism and terrorism”.
The Guardian has been granted exclusive access to extracts of the report, which also covers Cardiff, Birmingham and Glasgow and is not yet published.
The report highlights incidents in Waltham Forest including a prominent Islamist being given an award by the council and collection boxes in high street stores for groups advocating extremist ideologies.
Charlotte Littlewood, 27, was at the council for almost two years before being dismissed after facing a disciplinary hearing on allegations that she had breached her employment contract – something she denies.
All local authorities now have a duty to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism under the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 and counter-extremism co-ordinators help to do that.
In her report, funded by charity Ahmadiyya UK, Ms Littlewood states that, due to its “high level” of extremist activity, Waltham Forest is considered a priority borough by the Government with regard to the need to tackle extremism and therefore benefits from greater state resourcing and support.
But the former counter-extremism coordinator, who now works for the company Faith Matters, a group that works to promote community cohesion and counter extremism, said: “Despite this the local authority has appeared to have wilfully ignored extremist activity.”
In the past, Ms Littlewood has accused the council of “colluding in sectarianism” for its failure to act when claims were made of discrimination against Ahmadi Muslims in the borough, namely on the borough’s Faith Forum – an allegation the authority said was “misleading and inaccurate”.
Now, in her report, Ms Littlewood cites a number of incidents over the years to show how she believes the council has turned a blind eye.
One incident in 2016 saw a leading Islamist and current head of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami Islamist party, Siraj Ul Haq, receive an award from the council to “honour” his visit to the borough.
Two current members of Waltham Forest Council’s cabinet, Cllr Liaquat Ali and Cllr Ahsan Khan, were photographed with Haq as he received his award in the council chamber of the town hall.
Long before Haq’s leadership, the party launched a campaign against Ahmadi-Muslims in Pakistan in 1953 which descended into bloody riots that saw the death of more than 250 Ahmadis.
In 2016, it was found Cllr Ahsan Khan’s father had arranged the visit and the use of the town hall.
Cllr Khan told the Evening Standard in 2016 that he “completely disagrees with [Haq’s] views”.
According to Ms Littlewood’s report, an ongoing issue in the borough is the area’s links to other Pakistani Islamist groups promoting extreme views.
Currently, a number of high street stores in Leyton have been found to have collection boxes on their till counters to raise money for Dalwat-e-Islami and Madani.
Dalwat-e-Islami are a non-political, religious group in Pakistan and extremists from their group shared posts on Facebook praising the man responsible for the murder of Ahmadi-Muslim Asad Shah in Glasgow in 2016.
Madani TV is the television channel run by Dalwat-e-Islami, on which the group’s founder Molana Ilyas Qadri declared that punishment for blasphemy is death and if an individual kills a blasphemer he should not be punished.
Dalwat-e-Islami is a registered charity in England and Scotland.
Extremist groups have also held conferences in Walthamstow – including Khatm-e-Nabuwwat – an anti-Ahmadiyya extremist group based in Pakistan.
In the past, the group’s leaders in Pakistan have called Ahmadis ‘WajibulQatal’, which means ‘worthy of death’ and its representatives “congratulated all Muslims” on the group’s Facebook page following the death of Ahmadi Asad Shah.
That group met in Walthamstow as recently as October 2018.
And in November 2015, a Channel 4 documentary, ‘ISIS: The British Women Supporters Unveiled’, found a council-owned building was being used for meetings by three ISIS-sympathising women.
The women, known as Umm L, Umm Usmaan and Umm Saalihah on Twitter, preached to promote the terrorist organisation, encourage Muslims to abandon the rule of law and democracy in Britain and even make the trip to Syria to join ISIS.
The Waltham Forest Asian Centre in Orford Road, Walthamstow later banned the group, known as Islamic Circles for Women, from meeting there after the group’s “shocking” preaching was revealed.
Ms Littlewood’s report also details a 2006 transatlantic bomb plot organised by a terrorist group from a park in Walthamstow.
According to the national Guardian, as part of the plot, a flat was purchased on Forest Road in Walthamstow in July 2006 by a group of Islamist terrorists in what judges called a “somewhat opaque” transaction.
Several Islamist martyrdom videos were then uploaded to the internet from that address.
Two men involved in the plot, Abdulla Ahmed Ali and Assad Sarwar, were arrested close to Waltham Forest town hall along Forest Road on August 9 2006 around 9.45pm while others were arrested at their homes in the borough.
Three men involved in the plot, Ali, Sawar and Tanvir Hussain, were later sentenced to life in prison for conspiring to murder crew and passengers on transatlantic flights.
Ms Littlewood’s report extends across the UK investigating instances of anti-Ahmadi extremism in Cardiff, Birmingham and Glasgow and is due to be published in June.
It is understood the government is currently preparing a cross-party report into the discrimination faced by the Ahmadi-Muslim community in the UK.
MORE ARTICLES
The report is being headed by MP for Mitcham and Morden, Siobhain McDonagh, and is expected to be released in May.
A spokesman for Waltham Forest Council refuted the allegations Ms Littlewood makes against them in her report.
They said: “We host regular visits from officials from around the UK and abroad to learn from what we do and were the first local authority to secure an Anti-Social Behaviour Order against a hate preacher. Our original programme has gone on to form part of the national approach.”
They added the authority responded quickly to criticism following the visit of Siraj Ul Haq in 2016 and brought in new protocol to ensure the incident wasn’t repeated.
They went on to say the Khatm-e-Nabuwaat conference in October 2018 took place “in a private venue”.
The spokesman concluded: “We have a strong record in tackling extremism in the borough and have been nationally recognised for our work to oppose the terror threat.
“Waltham Forest Council does not support hatred or extremist views of any form or nature, and condemn them entirely. We are proud to be a tolerant and welcoming borough where residents from all walks of life, cultures, and countries can make the very most of their life chances.”
Interesting, isn’t it?
