A new YouGov poll from Australia has revealed that Australians are favorable toward immigration but negative about Islam. There should be nothing surprising or deemed to be anomalous about those findings. Chances are that similar results would be replicated in studies across most Western countries. Citizens however are wary of admitting publicly about their sentiments with regards to Islam, lest the “Islamophobia” battering ram starts beating them down. Mainstream media and globalists have perpetually referenced those with valid concerns about Islam and the Islamization of Western countries as “anti-immigrant”. This invented link between negativity toward Islam to views about immigration could not be more inaccurate. To be wary about any doctrine in fact, that promotes abuses is to be prudent, not ‘anti-immigrant’ and not ‘racist’.
Normative Islam promotes such “values” as supremacy of its doctrines above all others, conquest of infidels, anti-semitism, the inferiority of women, the murder of gays, the murder of apostates, sex slavery, child marriage, wife-beating, FGM and the like–not to mention the astronomical incidence of human rights abuses in the name of Islam. To not like such doctrine has nothing to do with being anti-immigrant.
“Australians accepting of migrants but negative towards Islam, poll finds”, by Naaman Zhou, The Guardian, May 3, 2019:
Lovers of regulation, supporters of same-sex couples and very liberal when it comes to abortion – this is how a sample of a thousand Australians perceive themselves.
Australia is a country that accepts gay couples, hates the big banks, considers second-generation migrants “Australian”, but the majority feel negatively towards Islam.
New wide-ranging data released by YouGov has revealed fascinating insights into the Australian identity, its place in the world, and its many contradictions.
Australians were the second-highest out of 23 countries surveyed in not considering where someone’s parents come from as relevant to identifying as Australian, but in our personal lives, 47% admitted to having “very few” or no close friends of a different ethnic background. And 80% of us believe women still suffer discrimination, but a third also think the women’s rights movement has gone too far.
Older Australians, perhaps surprisingly, are just as supportive of gender equality as their younger counterparts. In some cases, more so. But generational fault lines opened up over same-sex relationships (those under 45 vs over 45) and the acceptance of transgender Australians (under 35 and over 35).
Across 1,006 Australians, and thousands more around the world, the YouGov-Cambridge Globalism Project has already shed light on Australians’ sentiments towards immigration and our institutions. Here are some of its other insights:
Islam and other religions
51% of Australians had unfavourable sentiments towards Islam, and only 10% looked upon the religion positively, making Australia more negative than 17 of the other 22 countries surveyed. In fact, 37% of people said they were “very unfavourable”– the most negative response available. This was far higher than the milder option of “fairly unfavourable” (14%), and made it the single most common response to the religion. 23% of people were neutral…..
Amazing result says
This is an amazing result.
The fact that 49% didn’t have unfavourable sentiments towards Islam is amazing.
Jim J Fox says
only 10% looked upon the religion positively
Those would be muslims. The 49% are mainly ignorant of Islam, brainwashed by the ‘useful idiot’ media & politicians.
Jim J Fox says
“Those aged 45 and over had negative sentiments above 60%, and positive sentiments at 5% or lower.”
As I have suspected the youth are far less informed about the Islamic threat- or don’t care to find out…
Jake Dutkiewicz says
The survey, the moment it says older Australian back marriage equality, proved to be plain lie. So is 49% favorable of Islam…
tim gallagher says
I think the 37% who have a “very unfavourable” attitude towards Islam is a pretty good result. I think that there are many totally clueless, totally uninvolved in any political aspect of life types of people, especially amongst young people,(as Jim J Fox says above) and I suspect they lower the numbers in this survey. 23% neutral is pretty hopeless. With all the terrorist attacks and other troubles from Islam (and not Buddhists, or other groups) I am amazed that everyone, even the most stupid of people, hasn’t woken up. Still, I do think more and more people are finally waking up, although some people will apparently never wake up. Seriously, how dumb are some people? I think these survey results aren’t too bad. There’s some sign of progress I think. All the appalling behaviour from Muslims does eventually piss even tolerant people off, as it should. There’s a hell of a long way to go though. Something that did surprise me is that Australia is more negative than 17 of the 22 countries surveyed. I thought Australia would still rank as more tolerant than that. The people in those other countries must be far too tolerant.

Our motto: It’s the IDEOLOGY, stupid.
Who wants IDEOLOGICAL SUPREMACISTS running free in their countries with bombs, knives and rifles?
Australians are finally waking up to the threats posed by militant jihadism.
mortimer says
I don’t like wife-beating, fgm, religious discrimination and throwing Gay people from high buildings. Does that make me a ‘racist’?
No. It makes me a HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE.

Barely surprising… Thank God the “Westerners” are waking up to this reality that Islam does not belong anywhere in the world, where man is having enough problems in hand.
The West is in a good position to launch legal battles in even arena where Islam is claiming supremacist privileges, especially where they are in conflict with “natural justice” and rule of the law (already in force)
Hope the West seizes this opportunity to set the bar high and right.
mortimer says
Well expressed points from Raja. Yes, many of us are actually doing what you say. We are organizing to counter stealth jihad by the application of laws already on the books.

Law-fare is expensive, however.

I’m sure most people in non-Muslim countries think this. Just can’t say it or you get arrested…..

I saw a story a while ago about Switzerland. The Swiss don’t mind Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist temples but mosques they find off putting. I wonder why??

There are immigrants and then there are other immigrants.

Rueben_Singh:
Considering how long (centuries) Switzerland has been and remains neutral, as a country they are doing the smart thing to disallow mosques on their soil.
This statement doesn’t require brain surgery nor rocket science to figure out.
Not forgetting to add, Switzerland has had a few problems over the last several years with Moslem students in its schools, Moslem girls refusing to shake the hands of male teachers.
Perhaps it is simply better to say:
Switzerland is not the best country for Moslems to be.
Rueben_Singh says
A friend of mine is Swiss, he informs that the islamic community is not productive and are welfare recipients.

I’m afraid that there are Mosques in Switzerland. Minarets are banned, though.

Australians found to be favorable toward immigration, but negative towards Islam
…………..
Good to see this common sense–and more proof that being cautious about Islam is not “racist”.
David M says
Actually it still is. We have a federal election coming up soon & any candidate that has shown anti-Islam sentiments is scrubbed from the contest.

I hope not, David.

Australian need more people like Christian Prince and Robert Spencer..
Elizabeth Baklaich says
Indeed! We need more voices like his all over and educating people!
Watch for a “research” project coming from Australia, apparently funded by the Winston Churchill Fund (he will most definitly be rolling in his grave), her conclusion (while researching) is that immigration is good and Australia needs more refugees as their population is dwindling.
The grant recipient/researcher (and Australian state employee) had introductions set up by Lutheran Social Services here in Minnesota, not sure who was doing her introductions/ hosting in Boston and Canada (followed by a couple Scandinavian countries.) We only found out about this from a meeting held by our local CAIR cheerleading club who works directly with LSS.
The primary objectives in her research:
– Examples of community-led approaches to refugee attraction and retention (including partnerships between community, government and business)
– How to build the capacity of regional and rural communities to plan for and welcome refugees
– How to build social connectedness and bring communities together
– Strategies for connecting refugees with meaningful employment opportunities

Just look at the photo above. Yes, just look at it.
Sorry (not really) but I can’t respect any religious person who prays with his or her ass in the air, whether in Australia or anywhere on earth.
Please, folks, just look at the way Muslims pray. This alone should function as a major clue.
You know, mocking evil is the next best thing to crushing it, as I have written before here at JW. So, mock away. Start, I would suggest, with the risible prayer position that Muslims take. Hey, it’s all downhill from there.

Notice, in Karate, for instance the proper way to sit in Seiza and to bow when in this pose is NOT with the arse up in the air. That is just not done! Basically to do so would be to effectively ask to be drilled in the arse, and it is considered extremely inappropriate and disgusting. So, Islam — the way the Arabs invented it — has some hairy-arse customs! Not recommended at all.

100% of those who agreed to be surveyed by YouGov gave their opinion. That is 1000 people.
100% who were ignored, outliers, told them to …off, or just didn’t want to bothered, didn’t. That could have been the other 20 million.
CRUSADER says
Cynical.

Australians are ranked this way for their density!
3.3/km2 (8.5/sq mi) (236th in the world)
So maybe that’s their situation.
They’re not as dense as other people in the world!

Ha! …i saw what you did there…

This poll is surely rigged. It doesn’t take much to have a look at the immigration debate currently taking place to find that most Australians are AGAINST mass immigration. Many don’t just want it cut, but stopped altogether for now. I don’t know who they polled, but that would have to be one of the biggest lies told recently.
dumbledoresarmy says
51 percent, eh? Well, it’s a start. It means that only 9 percent more have to be persuaded – or quite probably, simply educated out of indifference/ ignorance – for that figure to become 60 percent. And then things start to get interesting, politically, if politicians work out that, right now, a LOT more elections could be ‘swung’ ‘by voting blocs of infidel Aussies, than by voting blocs of … Muslims.

Edward Cline says
“Australians found to be favorable toward immigration, but negative towards Islam.” Westerners have yet to learn you can’t have one without the other. Muslim immigrants bring Islam with them. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be Muslims.
gravenimage says
Edward, I think this means that Australians are favorable toward *non-Muslim* immigration.
dumbledoresarmy says
Exactly. We are quite happy to welcome, for example, Chinese Christians and Chinese Buddhists who are fleeing from rapidly-Islamising Malaysia where they are constantly exploited and discriminated against and find their position growing increasingly more precarious. We are also happy to have Coptic Christians and Assyrian Christians: they are settling in nicely and causing no more trouble than any other waves of non-Islamic migrants that we have had in the past. The Assyrians, mostly Catholic, are integrating via the Catholic churches and parish schools (as did the Lebanese Maronite Christians, before them).

What else needs to happen in order for people to wake the Euck up?
People of Australia, guess what your reward or response to letting millions of mu slime s into YOUR country? You will be called RACIST & an islamaphobe for letting million or hundreds of thousands of mu slime s into AU!
White people are the most hated on earth. Here stateside every day we are called racist and islamaphobic for open immigration.
Do you think that we were ever once told “THANK YOU” for helping us, thank you for giving us freedom, thank you for giving us and our family’s the best possible existence we could ever have here in America – NO, we are called RACIST & islamaphobic for letting them in.
They are trying to fundamentally change our country and our way of life.
