My introduction to my new book: “My Mohammad Cartoons Vol. 2″
“Speech is Violence!” –the violent enemies of Free Speech.
The violent enemies of free speech, mostly on the left and in Islam, want to equate the words of their ideological opponents with violence. They want to justify their initiation of violence against those who say things they don’t like, as if they’re justifiably “retaliating” against “violence”. I can’t say how many times Muslims have accused me of being a “terrorist”, and my cartoons of being “terrorism”, and of leftists accusing me -a cartoonist- of being as equally “extreme” as jihadists.
All Muslims oppose Mohammad cartoons, and so they all oppose free speech. And too many non-Muslims oppose Mohammad cartoons, and so oppose free speech. If you want to know who really supports Free Speech, find out what they think about Mohammad cartoons. Mohammad cartoons have become the litmus test for support of Free Speech today.
It’s been a year since I released my first volume of Mohammad cartoons, and I’ve drawn Mohammad over a hundred times since. I’m still asked why I draw Mohammad, and why I continue drawing him after I’ve drawn him so many times already, with some even pretending that the point has been made about the importance of Free Speech, and that we have the right to draw Mohammad, and so it need not be made anymore. We’re still at war, and the fight for Free Speech is never-ending, as there are always those who want to end Free Speech.
Mohammad should be drawn until drawing him loses all power, but almost no one draws Mohammad today, which makes us more closely resemble the Free Speech-less part of the world that forbids drawing Mohammad. This is intolerable to me, which is a big reason why I’ve drawn Mohammad over 300 times now. Those who bite their tongues and don’t draw Mohammad see those who speak out against Islam and draw Mohammad as a threat to their own safety, more so than the actual threat of jihadists. They act as if our words incite violence, and not the words in the Koran which call for Muslims to kill. And they begin seeing us as the problem, when in reality, their silence and inaction against this threat makes the threat far greater than it ever had a right to be.
It’s ludicrous to seriously consider anything that Muslims and leftists have to say about Free Speech, when they’ve proven themselves to be opposed to it in every imaginable way. People being free to say whatever they want hurts Muslims and leftists because their ideologies cannot withstand scrutiny.
A punk’s words come to mind, one who was trying to rally others at his university to fire Camille Paglia after her decades of employment at the university, for saying things he didn’t like. And he put it this way: “I had concern that she would be able to speak”.
Those who cannot bear to hear the words of others, whatever those words may be, cannot operate in a free society, and so work towards totalitarianism, all in the name of making the entire world a “safe space” from Free Speech. Some say that those who want to censor others only want Free Speech for themselves; the truth is that those who most want to censor others have already censored themselves, and resent those who haven’t, and want to shut them up.
Journalist Gary Webb said, “I’ve never written anything important enough to suppress.” So keep that in mind regarding those who have yet to be punished for their speech, because when the enemies of free speech have silenced the loudest voices against Islam and leftism, they will go after the rest, no matter how immune the rest thought they made themselves with their self-censored speech.
And even beyond violent people claiming that words are violence, they go so far as to claim that silence is violence. That if you don’t say what they want you to say, and if you remain silent, that you’ve incited violence somehow. To them, everything is violence except violence.
Free Speech is uncontrollable, and that’s intolerable to totalitarians. So we must remain vigilant and always defend Free Speech, because its enemies are out in full force. So long as there’s freedom, its enemies will work night and day against it.
One last thing, sparked by a post on Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg, who writes that Facebook now “proactively identifies 65% of hate speech” on its platform, whatever the hell that means. And naturally, a number of Muslims were cheerleading him. About so-called “hate speech”: There is no “balance” to be made between “hate speech” and Free Speech, because so-called “hate speech” IS Free Speech. Speech you love is Free Speech, speech you hate is Free Speech, and speech you’re indifferent to is Free Speech. The left hates Free Speech because it’s uncontrollable, and people can say things that they hate. But even leftists know that they can’t openly oppose Free Speech, so they oppose speech that they hate by calling it “hate speech”, and work towards punishing those who say things that they hate.
Here’s the left’s support for free speech in a nutshell:
“F*** America” is free speech. “F*** Islam” is hate speech.
Never go full leftist.
For my new book, I added more Mohammad cartoons, another article and more extras, so it went from 100 pages to 128, for the same price. It will be available to ship out next week, and you can order it here.

Seriously, all speech is not free and there really should be a law against teaching and preaching the Qur’an as the Only Truth of Allah from Abraham via Jibral to a crazed man in a cave who had to have his oldest wife and cousin, a convert and pastor of the Arab Christian group, figure out how to arrange the narrative. What would they do for someone today who said ‘Allah told me to impose this on millions of people? Free speech onl goes so far.

The limits of free speech is inciting violence. Spewing general stupidity is not banned in a free country.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS THE RIGHT TO BE CONTROVERSIAL and TO OFFEND
– “If the freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” – George Washington
– In 1785, James Madison, Father of the Constitution, wrote, “We hold it for a fundamental and undeniable truth that religion or the duty which we owe our Creator and the manner of discharging it can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence.”
– In Sudan, an article considered offensive to the Prophet in the Al-Wifaq newspaper in 2005 led a Sudanese court to close the publication for three months. On August 6, 2006, Islamists decapitated Al-Wifaq’s editor.
– “Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.” – Harry S. Truman
– “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”.
-Evelyn Beatrice Hall writing as S.G. Tallentyre in 1906 (Commonly attributed to Voltaire of whom Hall wrote a biography).
– “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” – George Orwell
– “The principle of free thought is not free thought for those who agree with us but freedom for the thought we hate.” -Oliver Wendell Holmes, US Supreme Court Justice, in United States v. Schwimmer (1929).
– “Goebbels was in favor of free speech for views he liked. So was Stalin. If you’re in favor of free speech, then you’re in favor of freedom of speech precisely for views you despise. Otherwise, you’re not in favor of free speech.” -Noam Chomsky, Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992).
– “The price of freedom of religion, or of speech, or of the press, is that we must put up with a good deal of rubbish.” – Justice Robert H. Jackson, chief justice at the Nuremburg Trials
– “…if any opinion is compelled to silence, that opinion may, for aught we can certainly know, be true. To deny this is to assume our own infallibility.”
-John Stuart Mill, On Liberty (1859).
Kepha says
The New York judge Learned Hand once said that if liberty dies in the heart of the people, the best laws, constitutions, and courts cannot save it. The problem with the Philobarbarous SJW’s is that they believe that ending liberty for those with whom they disagree will give them the security they crave.

Grimly true, Kepha.

Here’s the left’s support for free speech in a nutshell:
“F*** America” is free speech. “F*** Islam” is hate speech.
The original Fawstin affair served notice to those who noticed that there would be no free speech when it comes to Islam, especially free speech in the for of satire. Verboten.
Now it’s official policy the world over. It’s good to remember what happened in Garland TX. There can be no such thing as a moderate Moslem, moderate compared to what? There are activist Moslems, who are of the same non-moderation as moderate Moslems, but take action. Agitate a Moslem and you’ll often have an activist Moslem, and I ain’t talking protest stuff; I’m talking mass murder, good old fashioned Islam.
JW_Reader says
In Islam, free speech means the right you have to follow Muhamad and Sharia freely. Just like human rights in Islam – the rights, Quran/Hadid grants to the followers of Islam.

Yes, the leftists consider free speech and even silence to be forms of violence. However, there is one thing they do not consider to be a manifestation of violence and that is throwing a milkshake at someone practicing free speech. The leftist loons have actually descended to the level of a baby throwing its food in a temper tantrum. Indeed, the average IQ in the West is most certainly dropping as quickly as a cannonball tossed from atop the Empire State Building.
CogitoErgoSum says
… or should I have said dropping as quickly as a milkshake tossed from atop the Empire State Building? (Would it fall as quickly as a cannonball?)
Wellington says
Yes, Muslims and Leftists engage in projection regularly. They accuse others of doing what they do and as with all projection there is much hypocrisy attached to it as well as outright mendacity.
You are a brave and talented person, Bosch Fawstin, and I admire you a lot. I am certain many do. Take good care.
Benedict says
When Muslims react so violently to free speech – when the speech is used to criticize their prophet and their religion – it is due to their sensitivity to words as carriers of curses and their devastating effect in this capacity. Muslims – inspired by their religion – excel in curses as anyone familiar with Islamic culture can testify to. The “angstritual” of Muslims, when they pronounce the name of Muhammad and mechanically and compulsively confer blessings on their miserable charlatan, is a function of this superstition ascribed to empty words. These words and the mind numbing recitations of the Koran stand in stark contrast to the apostolic blessing exemplified by the words: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.” and the priestly Aaronitic Blessing (Num 6,24–26) “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” WHEN THESE WORDS ARE SPOKEN IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH.
This is why Christianity is the only effective antidote to Islam and the only spiritual power that can defeat Islam through the sword of the spirit: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”. Eph.6:17.
We need to understand this before we thoughtlessly insist on free speech anywhere and everywhere.
CogitoErgoSum says
Islam seems to be doing a pretty good job of wiping out Christianity in certain parts of the world. If the rules that Muslims follow work well against Christians, would not similar rules work as well to produce a similar effect when used by Christians against the Muslims? But might we then become just as bad as they are? Perhaps not. See Matthew 7:1-2. Christ says to be careful how you judge lest you be judged by those same rules. Is that bad? Would Muslims either humbly submit or renounce their religion if rules similar to their own were applied to them? In my world Muslims would be judged according to their own rules and if they changed their rules to become less harsh they would be judged less harshly according to those new rules. Would that not be just?
Bubbles McCloskey says
It would be very just to change the rules. We are all created in the image of God, whose essence I have come to believe is Truth. Rule Change Number One should be, NO LYING.
Leftists seem to have no aversion to lying. Often, it is goal-oriented lying (sociopathic lying – see https://www.compulsivelyingdisorder.com/5-different-types-of-liars/).
But whatever flavor of lying it is, all preconceived notions of justice fail when liars rule. And it seems to me that at present, the liars are ruling.
It is a complete inversion of reality. We hope that truth will prevail — but if the truth is rendered irrelevant, what then?

Benedict wrote:

……………………..
There is nothing “thoughtless” about defending freedom of speech.
Moreover, Bosch Fawstin is an Atheist–and is an important part of the Counter Jihad.
Really, there are Anti-Jihadists who are Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Wiccan, Agnostic, and Atheist. It makes sense for us to stand together against the threat of Islam–including its attempts to violently crush freedom of speech.
Wellington says
“We need to understand this before we thoughtlessly insist on free speech anywhere and everywhere.”
Also, “This is why Christianity is the only effective antidote to Islam…..”
Benedict: Let me put it plain like and here it is: You MAY mean to be helpful but you are not. Right now, I am too immersed in beer, pork BBQ, general enjoyment of the day and literature to write much more than this. So, let me put it another way: What the hell are you talking about?
A la gravenimage, who in hell is insisting on “free speech anywhere and everywhere?” After all, the First Amendment to the American Constitution (a document the Islamic world could never have created but I digress) does not allow falsely crying “FIRE” in a crowded theater nor does it permit specific physical threats as protected speech. You have set up a straw man and then knocked it down. This will not do.
As for Christianity being “the only effective antidote to Islam,” are you shitting me? Yeah, the Christian tradition is a great antidote to Islam but it is not the only one. Many other religions (e.g., Judaism) and even no religion (e.g., agnosticism) can efficaciously combat Islam’s many nefarious, liberty-crushing designs.
I don’t think you have thought things through, to put it mildly, thoroughly enough. This is all for now except to say, reconsider matters. Yeah, do so.
Savvy Kafir says
Thanks for all you do, Mr. Fawstin! Please keep up the good work!
As a political Lefty who despises Islam and cherishes free speech, I agree that we need to take an in-your-face approach to criticizing & ridiculing both Islam and the politically correct fools of the Regressive Left — for as long as Muslims remain in the West and as long as the PC Police try to silence us.

Free speech is definitely under attack on social media.
I just noticed that the Apostate Prophet on Twitter,a former muslim, has been permanently shut down.
I have never ,ever seen anything on his site that justified that:that just shows you how Twitter etc are curbing freedom of speech…

““F*** America” is free speech. “F*** Islam” is hate speech.“”
I remember that a few years ago a lefty in an article tried to compare Mohammed with Trump in a favorable way for M. And how David Wood responded devastatingly. Never seen such an article again.
As a thought experiment I want people to claim Trump is their prophet. And that insulting him is hurting the feelings of his 63 million voters, or at least his dedicated followers, Trumpists, deeply, And supporters of him are global. And Trumps is also caricatured many many times. And that if insults to Mohammed are “violent and extremist”, than so are insults to Trump.
Of course we feel it is OK to insult both in non-violent ways. Albeit not at random places like on the street, in the workplaces, in private homes. Only in the public space, in the media, which people can turn off and avoid.
But why would Trumpists be made to tolerate on such a huge scale all those insults to Trump by politicians and in the media, worldwide, while Muslims get to be protected from same sort of insults to Mohammed???
Why fight Islamophobia and not Trumpophobia??? Why the differentiation between Mohammed and Trump anyway? Why trying to protect “religions” and not similar ideologies like believing in Trump? Why pretending that being Muslim is somehow being part of a “race”, protected people, and not something to be held accountable for, while declaring that choosing for Trump is?
IMO insulting people means that they or their followers are adult humans who can change. Because insulting animals is useless because they cannot change. In that sense, are Trumpists then adult humans who can change while Muslims must be considered animals (or children) who cannot?
(The other possibility is that Trumpists really are guilty, while the Muslims are “like angels”, but nobody believes THAT).

Thank you Bosch for a terrific article as usual. Leftist-Islamic totalitarian axis of evil is dedicated to the destruction of Christianity and Western Civilization. I have found our FREE SPEECH ANTHEM as a rallying cry against this totalitarian suppression of free speech. It’s comes to us as gift from an unlikely source, DISNEY and it’s new movie “Alladin.” C.A.I.R. has condemned this remake of “Alladin” as “racist, Orientalism and Islamophobia.” I wonder why? I thought the original “Alladin” movie was a stealth jihad taqiyya tactic to make the Middle East Islamic culture palatable and inviting as exotic, romantic and magical. But for some reason, this new rendition of “Alladin” has ticked off the Muslim supremacists. Could it be this particular song “SPEECHLESS” which, perhaps unwittingly, echoes your sentiments and all us conservatives and Islamic critics about our precious right to Freedom of Speech? If C.A.I.R. condemns this movie then it is certainly a very good reason to pay to go see the movie.
