“Tens of millions of Europeans in 21 countries are voting Sunday [today] in the European Parliamentary election in a continent-wide battle between euroskeptic populists and proponents of closer EU unity.”
French leader Emmanuel Macron “whose country has been rocked in recent months by the populist yellow vest movement, has called the elections ‘the most important since 1979 because the (European) Union is facing an existential risk’ from nationalists seeking to divide the bloc.” Meanwhile in France, over 254 convicted Islamic terrorists are set for release from various prisons by 2022. Important news for EU citizens to ponder on election day along with the over 250 people that have been murdered in jihad attacks in France since 2015, and over 900 injured. Let’s hope French citizens and other populations across the EU have woken up enough to save their continent from rapidly advancing Islamization and the subsequent disastrous outcome.
“Turnout up in France as 21 countries vote in knife-edge EU poll”, France 24, May 26, 2019:
Tens of millions of Europeans in 21 countries are voting Sunday in the European Parliamentary election in a continent-wide battle between euroskeptic populists and proponents of closer EU unity.
Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania and Cyprus were the first to open their polling stations at 0400 GMT.
In mainland France, turnout stood at 19.3% at midday, up from 15.7% in 2014.
Seven EU member states have already voted, and provisional results will be released late on Sunday once the rest of the union has taken part in the European parliamentary election.
Eurosceptic parties opposed to the project of ever closer union hope to capture as many as a third of the seats in the 751-member Strasbourg assembly, disrupting the pro-integration consensus.
France mirrors battle across Europe
France’s President Emmanuel Macron has taken it upon himself to act as figurehead for the centrist and liberal parties hoping to shut the nationalists out of key EU jobs and decision-making.
Macron, whose country has been rocked in recent months by the populist yellow vest movement, has called the elections “the most important since 1979 because the (European) Union is facing an existential risk” from nationalists seeking to divide the bloc.
“Once again Macron is daring us to challenge him. Well let’s take him at his word: On May 26, we’ll challenge him in the voting booth,” far-right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen told a rally in France on Friday….
Buraq says
This is a snippet of what Deutsche Welle is currently reporting as it follows the voting patterns throughout Europe.
‘As Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland send almost half of all MEPs to the European Parliament – 348 out of a total 751 – the Sunday vote is dubbed the most crucial of all rounds. Opinion polls suggest that far-right groups and Euroskeptics could gain more strength in the European Parliament, with populist parties such as Marine Le Pen’s National Rally in France and Matteo Salvini’s Northern League in Italy are expected to perform well in the polls.’
So, doesn’t look good for the fascist-left and the Islamic jihad vote.

“These populists, nationalists, stupid nationalists, they are in love with their own countries”
When you consider that Juncker and that other Coudenhove-Kalergi prizewinner, Angela Merkel, have been in key policy positions,it is no wonder the cities of the EU are no longer safe given their pro-mass immigration ideology.
The Globalist masters of the EU versus the “populists”{nationalists}
The greatest enemy of Globalism is Nationalism..meanwhile a poll conducted last week found that the majority of Europeans believe the EU will collapse within 20 years.

German fake media of course say : many people vote against ” populists ” — how do they know if these people don’t vote against lefties ? 😉 Bremen : many for the Green Party — unbelievable !

The fix is in. Criminal Islamists and jihadists have criminally been given bogus citizenship and are voting for the weakest dhimmis and most corrupt politicasters in order to usher in so-called Eurabia, a pending failed continent and dystopia.
Niemoller says
Why do they vote on Sunday? Clearly a snub to Christianity, more gratuitous hatred from the post-Christian EU politicasters. They would never dare infuriate their Islamist tea partners like that.

EU election day: tens of millions turn out to vote in battle between “populists” and “globalists”

I hope we see a turn toward sanity in Europe.
So far, it looks as though Nigel Farage and his Brexit Party are doing well. (Yes, Farage has disturbingly waffled on matters related to the threat of Islam of late; still, his standing tough on Brexit is a good thing.)
I had also worried that May’s announcing her resignation might empower the even more appalling Labour and Jeremy Corbyn–so far, polls appear to indicate this is not happening.
Polls have now closed across Britain and Europe. Would love to hear more from folks on the ground there.

My husband and I voted Brexit Party! Not sure about anyone else we know, my whole FB newsfeed is rabidly Pro-EU……..

Graven, Britain voted on Thursday. They are not revealing the results until Sunday to be in line with Europe. We voted for the Brexit yet again! Hoping that this will send a clear message and also that our British Government will get on with it and stop messing around.

Good for you, despite the pro-EU propaganda, Ragdoll.
And Mo, I should have known that. I hope you are right.
Also, good to see you posting here again.

Voting for EU representatives will have as much democratic effect as ‘voting’ in the Soviet Union and Nazi Geemany would have had on the Leading Elite in those times.

Right now, around 6:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, it looks as though the populists, whom I prefer to call patriots, have won. Hope so since the EU is just a redux of the failed League of Nations and the continuing disgrace which is the United Nations.
Empires have been tried. So have city-states. So have sundry international organizations. But to date, the best of them all is the nation state, which is not amorphous as empires have been and yet not too small for defense purposes as city-states (and similar small polities) have been, nor arrogant and impotent in the extreme as international “attempts” have been.
Count me as a nation-state kind of guy. Best of the lot. But you must take pride in your nation and ALSO take great care whom you let into your nation. Enough said for now except to say eff the EU.

I hope so, Wellington. I’m still not finding a lot of solid news.

If the EU wins, there will most likely be war in the near future. To not go to civil war would mean to give up your freedom and your sovereignty. To live in fear. Better to have a civil war and have a fighting chance to keep your freedom than to roll over for the communist left.

May the populists win. As in India the party which is local in flavor in religion and culture won, so also Europe’s local populists should win.
