“The German government’s anti-Semitism commissioner on Saturday warned the country’s Jewish community to avoid donning yarmulkes, the traditional Jewish head coverings for males, in some public spaces due to a rise in anti-Semitic crimes.” Such warning is akin to sounding the death knell for religious freedoms in Germany.
Commissioner, Felix Klein danced around the issue of Islamic antisemitism and the link between Muslim migration and continued escalation of this phenomenon. Klein “suggested that police, teachers and lawyers should be better trained to recognize what constitutes anti-Semitism…..the internet and social media have largely contributed to this — but so have constant attacks against our culture of remembrance.”
Instead of virtually telling Jews outright to stop wearing yarmulkes for their own safety, Germany has a responsibility to protect the rights and freedoms of Jews, and should immediately institute a zero tolerance policy against all antisemitism. It will likely avoid dealing with its violent surge in Islamic anti-semitism however, in efforts to escape the brand of “Islamophobia” and continue its open-door immigration. We see this loathesome term “islamophobia” also applied in America in the face of criticism of the antisemitic statements spewed by Representative Ilhan Omar.
Former Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida, Pam Keith, tweeted out:
“When you see an attack on @IlhanMN or @RashidaTlaib KNOW that it is not because they are anti-Semitic, but rather because their attackers are Islamophobic. It is NEVER about their intentions. It is ALWAYS because the right sees their presence in Congress as an affront.”
In Germany last year….
a man wearing the Star of David was beaten down and kicked right in the center of Berlin. Some weeks earlier, a similar incident in Germany’s capital caused public outrage and sparked a nationwide debate on anti-Semitism when a 19-year-old Syrian attacked an Arab-Israeli and his companion with a belt in broad daylight. Both victims wore yarmulkes.
The president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Josef Schuster, told Berlin public radio last year that “Jews should be careful in big cities, after two men wearing kippahs were assaulted”. He went on to say that “defiantly showing your colours would in principle be the right way to go [to tackle anti-Semitism]…..Nevertheless, I would advise individual people against openly wearing a kippah in big German cities.” One can understand Schuster’s concern for the safety of his community, but the government has a responsibility to protect all citizens from violence.
As discussed earlier on Jihad Watch, a groundbreaking report by The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies confronted Islamic antisemitism in Germany. The government should now address it instead of ‘tolerating’ the persecution of Jews.
“German official warns Jews against wearing kippahs in public”, DW News, May 25, 2019:
The German government’s anti-Semitism commissioner on Saturday warned the country’s Jewish community to avoid donning yarmulkes, the traditional Jewish head coverings for males, in some public spaces due to a rise in anti-Semitic crimes.
“I cannot advise Jews to wear the kippah everywhere all the time in Germany,” Felix Klein said in an interview carried by the Funke media group, using another word for yarmulke.
The official said he had “changed his mind (on the subject) compared to previously.”
The number of attacks against Jews in Germany increased from 1,504 in 2017 to 1,646 in 2018 — a rise of 10%. The number of reported violent cases against Jews rose from 37 to 62 over the same period, according to official figures.
Justice Minister Katarina Barley told the Handelsblatt newspaper the increase was “shameful for our country” but added that the police were “vigilant.”
Last year, a man wearing the Star of David was beaten down and kicked right in the center of Berlin. Some weeks earlier, a similar incident in Germany’s capital caused public outrage and sparked a nationwide debate on anti-Semitism when a 19-year-old Syrian attacked an Arab-Israeli and his companion with a belt in broad daylight. Both victims wore yarmulkes in what was an allegedly anti-Semitic attack.
‘Deep-rooted’ prejudiceAfter several high-profile incidents of anti-Semitic violence, Germany’s Jewish community appealed to the government to institute an anti-Semitism oath for groups seeking public funding.
Germany’s anti-Semitism commissioner, Felix Klein, suggested that police, teachers and lawyers should be better trained to recognize what constitutes anti-Semitism.
According to Klein, “the lifting of inhibitions and the uncouthness which is on the rise in society” are factors behind the recent anti-Semitic wave.
“The internet and social media have largely contributed to this — but so have constant attacks against our culture of remembrance,” he added…..

I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone stupid enough to convert to islam, the religion of antiChrist, in these times as the consequences are clear enough:2 Peter 2 v 20-22,Matthew chpt 25 v 1-13
The sensible thing to do is to stay away from islam and do not allow any of your family to be deceived by those professional liars, the dawah teams.
Lydia Church says
To Kippah, or not to Kippah, that is the question! (and yes, I agree!)
This is going in an obvious direction so I wanted to address it.
The West is moving increasingly in this direction and we know why.
It is very easy for them to use this excuse for ‘your safety’ to recommend you cease a certain activity. But what is the end game of that? It just capitulates more and more to the enemy.
Obviously that is not the answer.
There are some times where being a bit more discreet is okay and other times when it is totally wrong and a gray area in between. So I will use some examples.
The times we are living in are getting more violent against Conservatives of all types. Now the feelings about what is ‘a hill to die on’ and what is not will obviously differ and I will use my perspective of course. (You are free to operate from your own perspective of course. Yes, you’re welcome!)
Take the political area. A person may support Trump, and there are good things about him for sure, and some things that are otherwise but I won’t get into that here. Most Conservatives support him so let’s just take that. But say you were to drive down a street in Oakland, CA with a Trump bumper sticker on your pick up truck, park, visit a friend, and come back to your car a few hours later. Any guesses on what you might find? Common sense will tell you that you may have some broken windows, flat tires, and even some lovely presents tossed into the car, if it is not totally charred. Now if you love Trump enough and think it was worth it, that is your prerogative, I won’t argue with you. But I would avoid it.
Now take the area of religion, and this is in it. I will use a cross for the example. Now I don’t wear a cross every day. I can’t because my skin is sensitive and gets irritated easily no matter the metal. I have t-shirts with big crosses, but I don’t wear those every day either. I just go with how I’m lead that day. Sometimes I work with little kids and they pull on anything shiny with their tiny hands and other situations like that, or I’m going swimming, or whatever. I’m not obligated to wear a cross, but I am obligated to answer that yes, I am a Christian should anyone ask me this question. (Matthew 10; 32-33). But suppose they gave the same warning for crosses. I would still wear crosses just as I do now. I won’t let them curtail my normal Christian activity and witness nor its growth. Suppose they even made it illegal, as the recent news item in Canada. Would I still be brave enough to do it anyway? What do YOU think?
YES! Of course I would still wear my crosses as I normally would!
This is where the usual frantic frank comes in with “But, but, but… they will kill you if you wear one! Do you want to die?” Or with the law; “But, but, but… they will arrest you if you wear one! Do you want to go to jail?” …followed by the usual gaping look of wild eyed disbelief.
The answer? Yes! Of course I know that! But where did Jesus say that it is okay to deny Him when we are in danger or jeopardy of some kind? Exactly, no where! That is why I will continue.
The spectrum in the middle includes things like the arenas you evangelize in, if the church goes ‘underground’ or not, etc.
The bolder your witness is, the more and the sooner you will stand out. Now those who have a very low key, minimal witness may think they can breathe a sign of relief. But rather than being in a good situation, you are rather in a bad one. Sure, you may survive longer, but is that the ‘object of the game’ as a Christian? No. It is not. The object is to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. Even if it means they come for us sooner rather than later. No, it isn’t for the faint of heart, I know that. But the strength comes from Him and not us. Nor is it leaping into fatalism. The witness of all the martyrs of church history prove that the church only grows with this, but not when you are a coward and run away for your own ‘survival.’ Jesus said it is better to lose the whole world and gain your soul. We all must face that fork in the road. This will only be clearer with each passing day. Those ‘minimalists’ who think they can be sly and survive as they skate till the end by hiding their light and witness will only find that they lost their soul… one compromise at a time.
The lesson of self sacrifice for the good of…the gospel, the church, the spread of Christianity over the land, and in the end a martyr’s crown. The other road leads to all rights removed, including yours in the end as well. It leads to the light of the church dying. And shame instead of a crown of glory. All around… one road leads to victory, while the other to defeat.
The choice… is yours!
Which road will you take?

These lines popped into my head and I googled for them as I had heard them before. They turned out to be from a poem by Dylan Thomas. I researched the background setting and meaning that inspired the poem. Although that part does not match, part of it matches the situation like a glove.

You might note 2 Thessalonians 2 v 4…”he will oppose EVERY so-called god or object of worship ..and will put himself ABOVE them all”
That means ALL religions and beliefs:non-belief won’t be tolerated either!
islam is a useful tool for the coming to power of the one referred to : note that all other religions, especially Judaism and christianity are targeted for persecution and suppression.
Thus the religion of antiChrist,like the Left,serves a nefarious purpose: an attempt to destroy Christianity{a battle that they WILL be losing…}
Of course there will be a checkmate{2 Thessalonians 1 v 5-10}/{The parable of the Net Matthew 13 v 49-50}:Biblical prophecy, for those who understand it,is actually good news.
It is bad news for the enemies of Christ…….

How utterly scandalous, the German Government has no honour.
They should be stridently OPPOSING this anti-semitism. What they are doing is COLLUDING with it.
Frederick King says
A better and proper response to this would be as follows. any person caught doing any of this stuff shall be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Including deportation of any non natural citizen as soon as they complete prison time. Preach hate in your church or Mosque ? It will be shut down immediately and the priests or imams prosecuted and deported if not natural citizens. Islam must totally reform it’s supremacist and anti semitic ways, or it will be banned. The political aspect of islam is not compatible with western democracies.

Good point, Crusades Were Right. What a terrible idea it has been to let Islam into western nations. It brings nothing good that I can see, but plenty of barbaric evil. I’m sure this sort of garbage (you know, rape gangs, terrorist attacks, this anti-Jewish type of behaviour and so on) is just going to get worse and worse until the populations of our countries wake up and demand an end to Muslim immigration.
James Lincoln says
tim gallagher says:
“What a terrible idea it has been to let Islam into western nations. It brings nothing good…”
Absolutely true Tim.
I have pondered this often and I can see NO conceivable upside to allowing Muslim migrants into Western nations. ALL downside for the host country.
Not politically correct to say but, however, true.
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the comment, James. I get exasperated as I see our countries continuing to let Muslims inside our borders, because I can only see islam as some barbaric leftover from mankind’s long past, primitive times. I mean, you look at Islam’s attitude to every aspect of human life ( the complete oppression of their women, the child brides, attitudes to homosexuality, in fact, Islam’s attitude to all of us non-Muslims) and it makes no sense to import its garbage into our countries. I’ve met a few OK Muslims, at least as far as I could see, but, overall, I can see nothing but negatives. It is so self-destructive. In fact, that comment up above by FYI that Islam is the “anti-Christ” makes sense to me. Islam seems the complete opposite of western values. Years ago, I used to think, why are we letting Muslims into our countries and I could only think that, for many countries at any rate, we need the Muslim countries’ oil, so we can’t risk an oil boycott that we’d probably cop if we banned Muslim migration. But maybe it is just that, despite all the evidence by now, the majority of our populations still (idiotically) get around thinking that most Muslims are OK, that there’s no big problem with Muslim migration. Just yesterday, I saw an apparently famous French philosopher, Bernard-Henri Levy, being interviewed on TV , (he’s visiting Australia) and he was reasonably tough on Islam and said that people have to be willing to assimilate, but then he said that he believed that most Muslims in France are assimilating OK, and I thought, What, you must be joking, you must be living in a fantasy land. From what I hear about France, I don’t think he has much of a clue about Islam, which also seems to be the case with many other people. Or maybe I’m wrong and Levy is right, although ( at least when it comes to islam) I doubt it. I keep saying it, but I think Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic are on the right track.
James Lincoln says
tim Gallagher,
Being totally objective and using evidence-based logic, you are correct and Levy is wrong.
And you are certainly correct regarding Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic. They are definitely on the right track.
As a sidebar, I think that you could include Slovakia in the mix to round out the V4 Visegrad group. In 2015 they agreed to accept only 200 Christian asylum-seekers, and in 2016 passed legislation to effectively block Islam from gaining official status as a religion in the country.
tim gallagher says
Yes, James, I’m certain that those four countries( you’re right about including Slovakia, which I often do omit) are showing our countries the right approach to Islam. In other areas of life and other policies, they may not be so great (I don’t know enough about them to be able to say) but I’m sure that they have the right approach to barbaric islam. They will avoid a lot of the trouble our countries are experiencing.

Sorry, no Christian Crosses or Jewish Yarmulkes allowed anymore in Western Europe. Soon, it will be the Holocaust all over again in the EU. Side note: Mt. Sinai is in Arabia, where Moses, a JEW, received the Ten Commandments. A Jew CANNOT go there. Why isn’t the UN all over this, issuing Resolution after Resolution, until Jews can visit their heritage? How dare the Muselmens desecrate the Temple Mount, just by their presence, not to mention the blasphemous ugly mosque and dome of the rock they put on it, and tell Jews and Christians they cannot pray there? Sorry again, but Satan and his islam is NOT the final authority over the Earth.
James says
It is ironic that Muslims are increasingly wearing their costumes in public. In Congress, a muslim woman is permitted against tradition to wear a hijab. In France a woman sued a lingerie shop because it did not want to employ her wearing a hijab. Everywhere you look you see cashiers and clerks wearing hijabs. They can go to school in these costumes, demand special privileges for their religion such as prayer rooms, break five times a day for prayer, hilal food in cafeterias, endless demands, and the authorities always give in. But let a Jew wear a little skull cap, and all hell breaks out. Don’t wear them, you might be attacked. If there start to be so many attacks on Muslims, are they going to say, no problem, just stop wearing Muslim clothing? Fat chance.
James Lincoln says
James says:
“It is ironic that Muslims are increasingly wearing their costumes in public.”
Yes, it is ironic – and it tells you where Western Europe is heading. Muslims in Western Europe wear Islamic clothing and demand endless special privileges as a power play. And the host country almost always backs down.
The reason for all of this revolves mainly around FEAR:
The native citizens of the host country fear violence from the Muslims migrants. On the other hand, the Muslim migrants have no fear of the native citizens.
This is not going to end well.

Felix Klein, “The internet and social media have largely contributed to this [the rise of anti-semitism in Germany] — but so have constant attacks against *our culture of remembrance*.”
—
Germans, get over yourselves already, FFS. How long do you want to beat yourselves up for?! You neither own anti-Semitism, nor have you invented it. No one would suggest you forget the horrors 80 years ago, but your history is not the history of anti-Semitism. You got yourselves into your current mess partly through your refusal, perhaps inability, to make this distinction. And perhaps I’m being uncharitable; perhaps it takes a few generations to work through a national trauma of such magnitude.
But someone needs to tell you straight to your face now: the Germans are a great people, one of the greatest. You’ve given the world so much that is good. You’ve atoned for what your forebears have done, and with painful honesty. You teach your children well and you maintain dignified memorials. It’s overdue that you bring closure and give the world, and yourselves, back the nation that was once the envy of the world.
Perhaps then you will gain a healthier perspective and see that contemporary anti-Semitism comes not from germans, but from those who’ve been proudly and doctrinally anti-Semitic since the time the Germanic tribes were still pagan and looking for a single identity, and they remain anti-Semitic to this very day. There is zero possibility that they will ever atone for what they’ve perpetrated on the Jews (and the Christians, the Hindus and others) for 1400 years. That’s not how they operate. If you don’t want anti-Semitism back in Germany, then stop being so fucking nice to Islam!
Germans who are angry with Muslims *are not Nazis*. They are Germans who want their nation back. And they are *entitled* to get it back. Nationalism and anti-Semitism are not the same thing. If you say that German nationalism and anti-Semitism are the same thing, then you have lost all sense of self-worth, not to mention history, and a predatory anti-Semitic people devoid of all ethics will take full advantage of that, and your culture of remembrance will truly be lost.
gary fouse says
To the extent that there are some neo-Nazi types among native Germans, that certainly must be condemned. The main problem, however, lies with the attacks coming from those who arrived in Germany with a previously learned hate for Jews-not something they recently picked up on the internet. To cover up or downplay that problem is to become an accomplice.
If Germany has to assign security for every single Jew, synagogue, and Jewish school in the country, they must do so. The solution is not to ask Jews to hide under their beds. This is tantamount to when the government advised women to dress modestly and/or stay indoors at night because they cannot protect their own populace from rape and other forms of violence from asylum-seekers from places like Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Not since the Red Army was storming through Berlin in 1945 has such advisement been necessary. The question I would ask Mr Klein is if he believes that advice given to German women is due to the uptick in neo-Nazis, the far right, or Alternatif fuer Deutschland. Of course, the answer is no. Of course, we remember New Years Eve in Cologne a couple of years back when hundreds of German women were sexually assaulted in front of the city’s famed cathedral while police were unable to even reach the women to protect them. And it wasn’t neo- Nazis, the far right, or Alternatif fuer Deutschland that were doing the attacking. The fact is that it is mostly the same perps attacking Jews as the ones who are attacking women.
If Germany really wants to combat anti-Semitism, make the country safe for women to walk the streets, and reduce the violent crime wave, the answer is clear. Close the borders and start expelling all the so-called asylum-seekers.

German government calls Muslims uncouth
The mainstream German newspaper Die Welt pubished a news item on 25 May 2019 about the growth in anti-Semitism in Germany. Regierung warnt Juden vor Tragen der Kippa [(German) government warns Jews against wearing kippa], by Christoph Hipp, Die Welt, 25 May 2019
https://www.welt.de/politik/article194160769/Felix-Klein-Antisemitismusbeauftragter-warnt-Juden-vor-Tragen-der-Kippa.html
“German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas (SPD) wants to reinforce the struggle against growing anti-Semitism. He said that due to the migration movements of recent years, the task has become more challenging. [“Durch die Migrationsbewegungen der letzten Jahre, sei die Aufgabe größer geworden.”]
…
“The anti-Semitism commissioner of the [German] federal government [Felix Klein] warned Jews against wearing the kippa [a Jewish cap] anywhere in Germany. “I can not recommend that Jews wear kippas anytime, anywhere in Germany. … He justified this statement with a ‘decline in social restraint and an increase in uncouthness’”. [“zunehmenden gesellschaftlichen Enthemmung und Verrohung“]
So the foreign minister blames the increase in anti-Semitism in Germany on immigration. Just in 2015 more than one million Muslims entered Germany.
For his part, the anti-Semitism commissioner blames the increase in anti-Semitism in Germany on a “decline in social restraint and an increase in uncouthness”
If we combine what the foreign minister said with what the anti-Semitism commissioner said, the only possible conclusion is that Muslims are uncouth.
Jayell says
Here we go! ‘Don’t do anything to upset the uncouth marauding invaders – because they’re obviously going to take us over run the place!’ What’s wrong with these Germans? An appropriate measure of post-nazi self-reproach is obviously necessary as a corrective to past historical obscenities but surely not to the point of self-destruction, particularly as the invaders in this case are replicating the very obscenities that are subject of all the reproach, and more! Or is there a sinister subtext to this irony? In which case all right-thinking Germans had better get a grip on this situation pretty quickly before they’re dragged back into some obscene dark-age proto-nazi cesspit.
James says
When I was a student in Germany I proofread and translated Holocaust memoirs of survivors for my professor. They often ended with the wish that it should never happen again. And often it was affirmed that if only people knew what happened, it might keep it from happening again. But I guess that knowledge is not enough to protect the Jewish victims of anti-Semitism, even in Germany. The government is really not willing to do enough to protect them. It hopes to appease their enemies rather than to stop them.

That is exactly what Muslims do. When they INVADE a country whether by the sword or ‘peacefully’ by immigrating, individually or mass, like it is happening now, the end result is always the same, strip ALL culture, religion, even language of the invaded country. This is happening NOW on a very large scale. I am not prophesizing something,.
HISTORY is proving just that. Egypt is a good example. Egypt used to be on the top of the then known world. The Copts used to be 96+% Christians now it is 20%. Even the Coptic language, which was the original language of the country vanished Arabic replaced it and by force. EVERY THING in Islam is by force. For over 1400 years they’re making life unbearable for the extremely peaceful Copts.
