The whole world is obsessed about the Palestinians who are referenced as “indigenous people” when they are really peoples from Ottoman South Syria. The Jews are the indigenous inhabitants of their land, as are Christians throughout the Middle East–both groups tormented by jihadists who want them to either be dhimmis or vanish. The aim of the Palestinian leadership to obliterate Israel is no secret and neither is the continual persecution of Christians.
With this propaganda driven obsession about “indigenous” Palestinians, who pays attention to the rights of truly indigenous Assyrians? They are “the descendants of the original inhabitants of ancient Assyria, have lived in the Middle East for millennia and are indigenous to Iraq, Syria, Iran and Turkey. The Assyrian language they speak, which is also known as Aramaic, Syriac or Neo-Aramaic, was the mother tongue of Jesus.”
“Since the rise of Islam in the seventh century, however, Assyrians and other Christians became “dhimmis,” or second-class subjects”, which also happened across the Middle East. For example, Egypt was 99% Christian before the bloody jihadist conquest of their country. Christians are also driven out of their ancestral homeland, Bethlehem.
Assyrians are now being terrorized in accordance with the Islamic instruction to cast terror into the heart of disbelievers. Who wouldn’t be terrified under these circumstances….
On May 13, assailants broke into an Assyrian Christian home and attacked two elderly women, a mother and daughter, in the Iraqi town of Bartella. The women were repeatedly stabbed with a knife and their gold and money were stolen. The two victims were then hospitalized in Mosul. The daughter, who sustained a violent head injury, remains in critical condition.
The horror of the 1400 year old Islamic jihad is a continued fresh reminder for the Assyrian Christian minority who simply wish to live in peace in their homeland, like Jews who try to do the same in Israel.
Western countries are doomed to become replicas of the Middle East and Africa if they allow Islamization to proliferate.
“After Attacks On Assyrians, Northern Iraq’s Christian Minority Recommits To A Homeland”, The Daily Caller, May 16, 2019:
Christians in Iraq continue to be exposed to violent attacks and oppression at the hands of various armed groups.
Two men who were arrested for the crime are from Shabak, a Shia group that is supported by Iran alongside the Shia Hashd al-Shaabi militia, reported the human rights organization, International Christian Concern (ICC).
Bartella is a town in the Nineveh plain in Iraq, the ancient Assyrian heartland, where Assyrian Christians still constitute a demographic majority and have for years sought autonomy or self-governance. However, since the defeat of ISIS, Bartella has been occupied by the Brigade 30 militia under the Hashd al-Shaabi. And the number of Shia Shabak people is increasing in the southern towns of Nineveh.
Susan Patto, an Assyrian living in Baghdad, told the Daily Caller, “the attack on those elderly women is not just a crime of theft; it’s a message to Assyrians that you are not safe in your homes and towns.”
“The fragile security situation in Nineveh Plain, where different sides control security, and most of them are not even people of that area, is creating more problems, and also increasing the fear of people to go back to their towns,” Patto added.
“There is also the problem of rebuilding what was destroyed; it’s not going as it should be. People are not compensated for what they have lost, and there are no decent houses to live in, no infrastructure, and no jobs, and these are massive obstacles for people to go back. So the most urgent concerns of Christians are security and the rebuilding of their towns.”

Ancient Assyrian civilization made an enormous contribution to the history and culture of the region. For instance, ancient Assyrians developed mathematical inventions and sophisticated medicine which influenced science as far away as Greece.
Since the rise of Islam in the seventh century, however, Assyrians and other Christians became “dhimmis,” or second-class subjects…..

An Assyrian woman is stabbed in Iraq and a Jewish woman is stabbed in Sweden. This is THE RELIGION OF COWARDS.
The genocide against the Assyrian Christians goes on. A separate Christian state within Iraq, protected by heavily armed Christian police would protect Assyrians, but would be unacceptable according to Sharia law.
They might implement a Swiss-style ‘canton’ system in Iraq in which local counties could be established with their own Christian schools and customs and in which Muslim encroachment and invasion would be forbidden by law. Only Christians would run for public office, thus guaranteeing the future of the communities.
Anyone who didn’t want their children in a Christian school or to live in a Christian society would move out of the county or province or state.

Christianblood,
To claim that persecution against Christians in the ME is entirely the result of US foreign policy is nonsense.
The US has made many mistakes in the Middle East, mainly out of ignorance of Islam. But the primary reason why Christians are being targeted is the Islamic doctrine of jihad, which is commanded in the Islamic holy scriptures. Some of the relevant verses are: (Quran 2:190-103, 2:216, 3:157-158, 4:74, 4:89, 4:95, 7:4, 8:12, 8:39, 8:60, 9:5, 9:14-15, 9:29 9:38-39, 9:73, 9:111, 9:123, etc, etc; and there are hundreds more in the Hadiths).
Jihadist attacks against non-Muslims have been going on for 1,400 years, long before the US or any modern nations were established. In more recent times, the US has been under attack from jihadis for decades before it went into Iraq or stupidly became involved in Libya.
The presenter of the video (Iben Thranholm) asks why “Western media and governments are so silent about the horrific global persecutions of Christians”, and claims that globalists and secularists intend to “destroy the Christian world-order.” But the real reasons are ignorance of Islam by many people, and political correctness and fear of retaliation by others. Also many Western politicians simply hope that by ignoring the violence, it will eventually go away. But as most JWers know that is a pipe dream. Jihadis are driven by religious zeal to carry out the violent political commands in their scriptures to conquer world for Allah.
Ms Thranholm also blames secularists along with globalists and Islamists for the persecution of Christians in the Middle East. I’m a secularist, and I don’t persecute Christians, and I have dozens of secular friends who share my views. Many of us belong to anti-jihad organisations here in Australia. There might well be some secularists who persecute Christians, but I have been persecuted by some Christians.
It also depends on how you define secularism. Some secularists have simply drifted away from their faith and no longer hold or practise their former religious beliefs. They are not necessarily rabid atheists, but simply no longer believe in a supernatural deity. Most secularists would normally describe themselves as agnostics, humanists or atheists, and many couldn’t care less any more about religion. Some atheists have thrown the baby out with the bathwater, and discarded their Judeo-Christian ethics along with their faith. But many of us retain our ethical standards and simply detest Islam; and we support the Christians in the ME in their struggle against this evil barbaric cult.
There are other people who still hold religious beliefs and believe in maintaining a separation of religion and state. The US First Amendment, and Section 116 of the Australian Constitution, prohibits the government from establishing any religion or preventing people from practising whatever religion they choose. On this score, both the US and Australia are secular countries. Does that mean that both of our countries want to destroy the Christian code of ethics on which our Constitutions and laws are based? In many cases the people who oppose freedom of religion are not secularists but leftists. Life is a little more complex than simply placing all secularists in the same boat as globalists and leftists.

I never deny that islamic doctrine of jihad born and propagated from Saudi Arabia the birth of islam and mohamed is eventually responsible for the persecution of Christians in the ME and beyond. However, US and the West collaborate with Islamic jihadists, support them, arm them and train them to further their liberal imperialist hegemony! US has been doing this for decades from Afghanistan to Chechnya, Bosnia, Kosovo, Libya, Yemen, and Syria… For instance, hundreds of Serbian churches and monasteries were destroyed in Metohija Serbia and thousands of Serbian Christians die after US/Nato backed KLA (Kosvar jihadists) and bombed Christian Serbs for nearly three months in late ninetees!

This is a saddening and maddening situation. Comparisons about how minorities are treated in the Arab world and in Israel are indeed in order. And in Israel the Muslim minorities are much better treated and equal than that the Christian minorities are treated and equal in the Arab world.
Although Saddam Sunni’s defended Christians, because he needed them as assistants against the Shiite majority and although Alawite Assad and Shiite Hezbollah protected Christians against Sunni insurgents, it seems that both Sunni’s and Shia are equally oppressive and murderous at times.
In desperate search for solutions I think that Israel should annex the West Bank or big parts of it. If at all possible it should encourage Muslims to leave. But of course I do see that that is morally objectionable and impossible. But it might be tried with huge compensation for Muslims, saying that they do live on the most valuable real estate on the planet. They may then go to any place in the world they want to go to, maybe they can change place with minorities in Iraq.
And then Israel could make room for these poor oppressed ME Christians. Land-room is of course what Israel lacks. But this is the 21st century. And it is now being done that artificial Islands are being built in the sea and it is technologically being done in Singapore and Seoul to grow food in towers, so the need for agricultural land may diminish. And Israel may grow through immigration and high birth rate up to a very well populated country with a big youthful segment.
Israel already has a good societal system and very promising high tech industry which makes it stand out in the ME. And right now Israel is also the Water “Champion/ Emperor” of the ME, what with deriving maybe 60 % of its water from desalination and exporting it!
Of course this is wishful thinking but it comforts a little.

Those violent and vicious jihad –minded Muslims in their murderous persecution of Christians aren’t really going to get away with their destruction of Christians. As the apostle Paul had written each individual Christian is actually, in the View of God, a temple of God. For to Christians, it is written in the Bible “Don’t you know that that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s Temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.” First Corinthians 3:16,17. Our appeasing Muslims even as they wage Jihad by all means, simply encourages more Jihad. Muslims believe that their success in all fields, including the Kuffar prostrating themselves to Muslim is because Allah has willed it so by making the Kuffar stupid.
The corollary is to treat all Muslims with harshness, making it even harder of they comp[lain. In their world view, it will be assumed that their plight is the will of allah.

Sassounian: We Should Worry More about Erdogan’s Dangerous Actions than His Crazy Stories
July 21, 2015 at 12:11 pm Harut Sassounian My Turn 3
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has completely destroyed his credibility by making numerous bizarre claims in recent years.
For example, Erdogan told a group of Latin American Muslims visiting Istanbul last year that Muslim pilgrims discovered America over 300 years before Christopher Columbus. “It is alleged that the American continent was discovered by Columbus in 1492,” he said. “In fact, Muslim sailors reached the American continent 314 years before Columbus in 1178. … In his memoirs, Christopher Columbus mentions the existence of a mosque atop a hill on the coast of Cuba. A mosque would look perfect on that hill today.”
When people around the world scoffed at the president’s unfounded assertion, Turkish reporter Oray Egin found out that Erdogan had completely misconstrued what Columbus had written in his memoirs comparing a mountaintop in Cuba to “a pretty mosque.” Turkey’s leader wrongly concluded that Columbus had seen a mosque built by Muslim sailors!
In one of many spoofs poking fun at Erdogan, someone sarcastically alleged that astronaut Neil Armstrong wrote in his autobiography, “When we landed on the moon, we saw the ruins of a magnificent building. Buzz Aldrin and I were amazed as we approached the ruins. This was a small, elaborately built Ottoman mosque. When we came back to earth, NASA and the American government ordered us not to talk about it.”
Such outlandish pronouncements attributed to the Turkish leader continue to pop up on the internet. Given Erdogan’s penchant for telling wacky stories, many people tend to believe anything they read about him.
Here is a recent example: “Ottomans were the first to reach the moon, says Turkish President,” wrote Barbara Johnson in the World News Daily Report. She quoted Erdogan as saying, “It is alleged that the first man to walk on the moon was Neil Armstrong in 1969. In fact, Muslim space explorers reached our satellite 334 years before that, in 1635. Everyone knows the story of the famous aviator, Lagari Hasan Celebi, the ‘Ottoman Rocket Man,’ who made the first successful manned rocket flight in 1633. What you might not know, is that he attempted to reach the moon two years later and could very well have succeeded.”
According to Turkish mythology, legendary Ottoman aviator Lagari Hasan Celebi launched in 1633 a 7-winged rocket using 140 lbs. of gunpowder. Before his flight, he reportedly proclaimed, “O my Sultan! Be blessed, I am going to talk to Jesus!” After his rocket landed in the sea, Celebi allegedly swam ashore and announced, “O my Sultan! Jesus sends his regards to you!”
Reporter Johnson continued her whimsical story: “President Erdogan’s surprising claim generated some whispers and laughter from the audience, a reaction that clearly angered the Turkish politician. He slammed the skeptics for mocking his claims, adding that he would soon have the proofs to back his claims. ‘Why do you not believe it? Because you’ve never believed that a Muslim can do such a thing. … NASA may have destroyed most of the physical evidence of the Ottoman’s success during the Apollo 11 mission, but we’ll try to find any evidence that might have escaped the cover up.”
Of course, what Johnson wrote was not true. Erdogan never uttered those words. However, it is interesting that many Turks believed the fake story, and posted the following comments in reaction to Johnson’s article:
– Ali: “Unfortunately, he is our President.”
– Berkay: “The scary thing is, if you are living in that nation and witness all the things that man does, and see how many supporters he has. This is an embarrassment.”
– Deniz: “Poor, secular Turkish people! This Tayyip is the embarrassment of Turkey.”
– Huseyin: “You cannot imagine what we have been suffering. He is a solid tyrant. … He is a complete dishonor to us.”
Indeed, Erdogan is a big embarrassment to millions of Turks who are ashamed of him as their president. Unfortunately, the Turkish president’s actions are more ruthless than his words: He jails reporters, orders attacks on civil rights activists, sues those who disagree with him, stashes away millions of dollars obtained by corrupt means, dismisses judges and law enforcement officials who refuse to carry out his illegal orders, and supports the infiltration of ISIS terrorists into Syria and Iraq.
The international community should worry more about Erdogan’s terrifying actions than his delirious ramblings!

I love Jihad Watch but your continued refusal to recognize the Palestinians as an indigenous population in Israel disturbs me. There is all sort of DNA testing that shows that the closest relatives of the Jews are the Palestinians, Druze and Samaritans. Many believe that they are mostly the remnant Jews of Palestine who converted to Islam under pressure. Like the Assyrians, the Palestinians are an indigenous group. You correctly state that the Assyrians should enjoy the same sort of international support that the Palestinians get, as should all indigenous groups. Keep up the good work.

There has never been a nationality known as the “Palestinians”–this was ginned up in the 1960s.
Are there local Muslims who are the descendants of Jews and Christians coerced into converting to Islam in times past? Of course.
But believing they should ergo have the right to destroy Israel makes no more sense than saying that Muslims descended from forcibly converted Buddhists and Hindus have the right to destroy India.
