Another product I have recommended in the past which was great back in the day when you could rely on them to remove browser adware and malware. But now, censorers are deciding for you what content on the web is of value and to be trusted. Of course, if they get this wrong, they should not be trusted to do what they are meant to do, and protect your browser, you should uninstall, and let them know, here for Chrome and Firefox how they are failing.
The warning preceded with an exclamation mark in a red triangle, reads:
Warning: Clickbait
Category: unreliable content
This website may contain clickbait. Clickbait is content whose
main purpose is to attract attention and deceive visitors
into clicking on a hyperlink to a particular web page.
Clickbait often leads to content of questionable value.
With options “GO BACK” and “CONTINUE TO SITE”, a checkbox “Do not block this site again” and then an ad to buy their premium product.
I would not ask you all to leave these reviews if they gave some mechanism to report a ‘false positive’ which is convention with malware scanners, no option for feedback at all except reviews.
I understand that Jihad Watch is not the only legitimate Conservative news site affected.
The code of this site is scanned daily for malware, adware and blacklisting which can be confirmed here.
With thanks to Uncle Vladdi for the tip.

Hello Robert
I have Malwarebytes installed on my computer. i just tried it twice w/o a vpn and had no issues. But I am coming from a Ukrainian IP address. I also tired it with Windscribe VPN with a site in the U.S. Again no issues. R U sure of your source?
Steve says
P.S Noticed your screen capture is on a MAC. I am using Win 10
marc says
I’m certain, apart from the report from @Uncle Vladdi https://www.jihadwatch.org/2019/05/australia-switches-off-jihadwatch-org#comment-2100851
I tested myself there on a Mac (chrome and firefox), and here’s a couple more tests
On a PC running Windows 10 https://monosnap.com/file/fZMeqVcngEefQXOibrna571jMDSd8H in the US
On Ubuntu 16 in Canada https://monosnap.com/file/K2Ks3ogUJy9AGMdgEQwN33oseY3TVo
Maybe you previously checked “Do not block this site again”

Small point, Steve–this story is not by Robert Spencer, but from Jihad Watch “tech guru” Marc Louis.

This may not be a comment on the site’s published content. It may be a comment on the ads. I see lot’s of ads that fall under the click bait category.
marc says
A lot of sites run the same ad blocks and are not flagged in this way.
CRUSADER says
Are you talking about the bewildering ads just to the right of this screen? I’ve never noticed them before!
harrie verstappen says
Am glad to say, here in Curaçao/WIN7 no problem whatsoever.
mgoldberg says
Sad indeed. I use it on my computers for free and it’s a good piece of software from everything I can find. But this… this hatchet job they do on this site?? I tried to find an address to speak or write to them and it’s not there in the software, its not there on their site. I guess if you want to buy the commencial software you might get a person to speak with but…. anyone have email addresses to post a note to??
Harrald says
Man thats stupid. What have Clickbait to do with Malware etc.?Nothing!
Also the VPN Windscribe had in his PRO Version a list with “Fake News Sites”that you can add. Many people sayed on their reddit site that they dont like it,and its a stupid list like the others you reported…
ps:Use Ublock Origin as an add-on against Malware Sites. You can choose it in the Filter selections list.
marc says
I Like Ublock also when I checked it out, personally I use SafeScript and LittleSnitch, which blocks absolutely everything unless specifically allowed, I would not recommend that for the masses though. And seeing as malwarebytes was one I’d previously recommended, I’m loathed to recommend anything again.
mgoldberg says
marc, I am just an enduser, and don’t even know what those things do. I do use malwarebytes on my mac and just as an application, which I run two or three times a week. Mostly adware that it picks up which I toss in the trash. I do wish I could contact them to let them know their mistake and politely request they examine their direction…..

Shy Guy says
Robert,
I don’t think this is a big deal. You have all these clickbait ads on your page linking to Stripe.com, funandgame.online, and newsmax. Malware doesn’t care if your site is left, right, or center. Please review.
gravenimage says
As Marc noted, lots of sites use these ad blocs and don’t get these alarmist notices. Moreover, the warning does not refer to the ads, but to the site’s content.
CRUSADER says
Excellent distinction to point out!
Lydia Church says
I see several trends here.
One is the occurrence of these things.
The second is people chirping about it in the same ways.
It is good to check if others are having the same problems.
But just because yours is working, or it is now, does not erase the issue.
The fact is that this happened. Another fact is that it has happened before.
And it keeps happening. And it is happening in an increasing way.
The ‘are you sure?’ comments are a bit… well… how should I put this…
insulting perhaps?
The other fact is that these things will continue to get worse.
It’s all part of their bureaucratical maneuver they hide behind.
First it was the Newsguard warning above at the right of this page
that is refuted. Then it was down in Australia. It was also manipulated
for google searches and other things. Now this warning notice.
The point is; what’s next?
That is how this works. Small baby steps at first, a little here… a little there…
and then more and more.
etc.
marc says
“The ‘are you sure?’ comments are a bit… well… how should I put this…
insulting perhaps?” they are very tiresome for sure, there are a dozen or so similar “isolated issues” I’m currently dealing with here, they are not so simple to quantify usually, this one was, apart from the 3rd party account I tested on 4 different browsers, and shared the evidence above. A couple complaining about ads, but providing no evidence of a left leaning site with similar ad blocks treated the same way. Thank you Lydia
gravenimage says
Agreed, Lydia. Just because each individual poster is not having trouble does not mean that this is not a problem.

…………………….
Just disgusting. Everything in that warning is an utter lie. The only links in Jihad Watch stories lead to respected news sites.
R Russell says
When I changed internet suppliers a few years ago now, I couldn’t get Jihad Watch. I phoned my then new provider to ask what the problem was.
It turned out Jihad Watch was on the same list as pornography!
When I asked if something could be done to get me back on the Jihad Watch, they thoroughly warned me against it because of the ‘type of website it was’. They also said any children would be able to access the pornography.
Not having children using my laptop, and never having accessed a pornography site in my life, I ask for the settings which allowed Jihad Watch to be viewed. This was done at once and I have had no problems since.
Although I am not a conspiracy theorist, I did wonder if I would be flagged up for accessing the site and if so I probably am being watched (just like all of us watching this content) since as well as JW I read the content of several other similar websites.
Anti virus etc has on many occasions saved me from some nasties attached to some other websites. I think this is just par for the course as there are many out there who do not want us to get the information sites like JW provide.
CRUSADER says

Antivirus programs work on dect cerain pattern of code in programs and reporting it as than virus. Many year ago i was about to download a patch to than old computer game it was report as haveing than virus. I email the company they check it out and than antivirus company said it wasnot than virus.
gravenimage says
More apologia from the incoherent “Brian hoff”–really, “DefenderofIslam”.
marc says
actually, for once this makes sense, often patches will be flagged by AV software, and proved to be FPs (false positives), a large part of my work is applying patches. But we all know that’s not the case here, i’ve been browsing news sites, and all the right of centre are flagged, and all the left ignored. I guess this is the left’s response to Trump calling out fake news.
What does @Brian hoff say, is this an FP such as his patch, or is this censorship?
Alec Rawls says
Hard to find contact info for MalwareBytes but I did find a “bug bounty” feedback email address (bug-bounty-at-malwarebytes.com). That seemed appropriate. My message:
Subject
Your own company is infected with the most devastating bug possible: malicious radical leftist insiders slanderously blocking thoroughly honest and reliable websites like Jihad watch
Text
Y’all really need to give me the biggest bug-bounty ever because you need to be informed that you have the most destructive of all human parasites active inside your own company. Warning users away from Jihad Watch PROVES that you have an advanced infestation of radically dishonest leftists slandering reliable content.
The central locus of the infection is almost certainly your HR department, where this parasite usually gains its foothold, allowing rapid usurpation of your entire operation to the perverted, malicious and truth-hating objectives of evil communist fascist Jew-hating, orthodox Islamic murder-cult loving Social Justice Warrior left. Let this infection proceed and you don’t just become worthless, you become a relentless enemy of everything true and decent and rational in the entire world, a force of relentless evil.
It is disgusting that you let these evil people get in and start taking over but we understand: these Maoist Red Brigades totalitarians are everywhere, pumped out by an academia that has long since been converted root and branch into one big viral parasite factory, but you need to take action NOW to stop it from completing its root and branch takeover of your company as well. You must fire everyone who uses your company to pursue their own political agenda (never mind a radically evil leftist agenda) instead of EMPOWERING YOUR CUSTOMERS OWN MORAL AND POLITICAL JUDGEMENTS. Your job is to serve your customers, not become their master.
There are two kinds of people in the world. One understands that liberty works because it empowers peoples’ own individual moral agency, allowing them to make and pursue their own discoveries of where value lies, making progress in the discovery and pursuit of value that filks our culture and our markets and enriches us all. These strongly value not just their own both liberty and autonomy but other peoples’ as well. Then there are the rotten stinking totalitarians who want to make everyone their slave, insist that everyone submit to their will and even think the way they do.
This evil garbage has infected your company and WILL take it over completely unless you fight back now. They want to use your company as a weapon against liberty and the first casualty, already in the process of succumbing, is your companies OWN liberty, the ability of your employees to serve their customers and do so by using their own individual freedom of thought, instead of serving the dictates of the disgusting radical leftist monster, trying to turn your customers into your slaves, getting them to believe your vile lies.
Save yourselves while you still can. Firing EVERYONE in HR might be a necessary first step, and everyone who can be determined to have had anything to do with the radically dishonest slander of Jihad Watch. Good luck, and if you are able to save yourselves do send me a nice pile of Bug Bounty cash. I am obviously willing to try to save your stupid lives regardless, but come on, how many people are ever going to try to save your life and actually know how to do it? Save yourselves, and then PAY UP!
Sincerely
Alec Rawls

I was warned on Yahoo yesterday. I said something about Omar , I believe ? Now I remember. sme people were talking bad about Thomas jefferson. Because he was a slave owner. I pointed out, it was legal back then. I also stated it was terrible , slavery, all around the world. Then I pointed out the facts about Somalia. Somalia was a major player in the muslim slave trade. omalis actually hunted , captured, processed, and sold wholesale. Sex slaves and eunuchs were a big part of what they did. I then said, “why isn’t Muhammad, Islam , and the Koran , being targeted for censorship ? My question was very valid.
