Even though there haven’t been any serious attacks on mosques in America, money has poured into protecting mosques. Some of that money is coming from taxpayers.
The question is who is doing the protecting?
A recent case out of Irving should raise doubts about the process?
A security guard at the Islamic Center of Irving has been arrested after being accused of molesting a third-grade student at the school.
Syed Humzah Hashmi, 24, of Grand Prairie was taken into custody Wednesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child after recent outcry from the victim, police announced Friday.
The alleged crimes took place between August 2016 and June 2017, according to Hashmi’s arrest warrant affidavit.
The victim was a 7- or 8-year-old boy who attended the Islamic School of Irving at the time of the alleged assaults. Hashmi is accused of assaulting the child in an empty classroom.
The question is was Syed Humzah Hashmi paid with any grant money from taxpayers?
If grant money is used for mosques, it should go to hiring independent and verified security companies. Was Syed Humzah Hashmi employed by such a company? Or did the mosque hire him on its own? What procedures did the mosque have in place to ensure the safety of children? Such questions should be asked. But unfortunately they won’t be.
