Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

New York Times Falsely Claims No One Believes Muslim Brotherhood is a Terror Group

May 1, 2019 2:00 pm By Daniel Greenfield

David Kirkpatrick at the New York Times is without a doubt the most deeply dishonest journalist working the Islamic beat today. Kirkpatrick ‘s favorite thing in life seems to be the Muslim Brotherhood. So when there was talk that the Trump administration might designate the Brotherhood a terrorist group, the Times decided to have Kirkpatrick write up an explainer defending the Brotherhood.

And this may be the most bizarre line in that deeply dishonest explainer.

Is the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood terrorist?

No. Even experts critical of the Brotherhood agree that the organization does not meet the criteria for a terrorist group.

Really?

Three experts at the DeSantis hearing on the Brotherhood agreed that it was.

Which experts does Kirkpatrick mean? Who knows. He later cites “historians”, but never clarifies which historians he means.

Experts critical of the Brotherhood have been highly supportive of this move.

“Historians say there has been no evidence since then that the Egyptian Brotherhood, as an organization, has engaged in violence,” Kirkpatrick writes.

Are these nameless historians aware of the assassination of Hisham Barakat and the conviction of Muslim Brotherhood members for that attack?

Since the military takeover of Egypt’s government in 2013, some members of the Brotherhood have broken off to form organizations that carry out acts of violence against the military-backed government.

Two of those groups, Hasm and Liwa al-Thawra, have been designated as terrorist organizations by the United States government.

Kirkpatrick’s argument is that the Muslim Brotherhood is not a terror group, it just keeps generating them, over and over again, as plausible deniability.

But even experts who consider the Muslim Brotherhood sinister say that they have never seen enough evidence to convince a court that it was a terrorist group.

Those “experts” keep saying things.

But let’s stop listening to Kirkpatrick ‘s imaginary experts and listen to the Brotherhood.

“Suicide attacks represent the highest level of martyrdom, because there are no civilians in Israel.” Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi.

“It is obligatory on all Muslims to resist any possible attack the US might launch against Iran,” Qaradawi said in a 2007 interview. “The U.S. is an enemy of Islam that has already declared war on Islam under the disguise of war on terrorism and provides Israel with unlimited support.”

In September 2004, Qaradawi proclaimed that it was a religious obligation for Muslims to fight U.S. and British troops in Iraq. The communiqué, signed by Qaradawi and 93 other clerics, said that “the Jihad – waging Iraqi people’s resistance to the foreign occupation … is a Shari’a duty incumbent upon anyone belonging to the Muslim nation, within and outside Iraq, who is capable of carrying it out,” and that it was “forbidden for any Muslim to offer support to the occupiers.”

Never enough evidence.

In a statement that aired on Al Jazeera TV in 2009, al-Qaradawi said the Holocaust was a “punishment” for Jews and expressed hope for Muslims to carry out another genocidal campaign in the future.

Agree… Mohammed’s profile in the hadiths and Sira is truly that of a terrorist. More to the point, however, is that the Muslim Brotherhood was the Egyptian copy of the fascist movement of Mussolini and the Hitlerite Nazis in Germany.

Were those two fascist groups TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS OR NOT? They were.

Desantis Hearing Establishes the Muslim Brotherhood Must Be Designated as a Terrorist Organization – the Sooner, the Better

July 11, 2018 Center for Security Policy

DESANTIS HEARING ESTABLISHES THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD MUST BE DESIGNATED AS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION – THE SOONER, THE BETTER

Washington, DC: It is no longer a question of whether the United States will designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization. It is only a matter of when and how.

That’s the principal take-away from a congressional national security panel this morning that addressed “The Muslim Brotherhood’s Global Threat” and what the US should do about it.

“This hearing is an opportunity to discuss what the United States’ next step should be in combatting the Muslim Brotherhood’s threat,” said Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL), chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security of the House oversight committee.

“The Muslim Brotherhood is a militant Islamist organization with affiliates in over 70 countries,” DeSantis said. “There’s no question that the Muslim Brotherhood’s affiliates are involved in terrorism.”

The historic hearing follows a June 28 Center for Security Policy Decision Brief that called on the Trump Administration to declare the entire Muslim Brotherhood and its fronts and affiliates as terrorist organizations.

“Thankfully the Trump Administration has discarded the Obama-era policy of treating the Brotherhood as a potential ally,” DeSantis said. “Now, the questions are focused on how expansive to make the terror designation, and whether it should be done through the State Department or Treasury Department.”

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy and a longtime associate of the Center for Security Policy, was one of the four witnesses who testified. He was the only Muslim witness, and made the case powerfully for Center-recommended policy of designating the entire Muslim Brotherhood and its fronts as terrorist entities.

In the course of his testimony, Dr. Jasser rebutted characterizations by the Brotherhood’s apologists and enablers of its critics as “haters” and “Islamophobes”:

Nothing would be more pro-Muslim than the marginalization of the Muslim Brotherhood and its direct affiliates. Making the Muslim Brotherhood radioactive would allow the light to shine upon their most potent antagonists in Muslim communities – those who reject political Islam and believe in liberty and the separation of mosque and state.

He also discussed national security risks associated with failing to designate the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates as terrorist entities. One of them is censorship of jihadist terminology in U.S. government agencies. Dr. Jasser correctly observed that such censorship impedes analysts’ ability to protect the nation:

To think that these words and concepts, and others are off limits in the freest nation on earth, censored [in] our agencies, is just incredulous considering the growing threat we face today from violent Islamism. It smacks of a bizarre invocation of blasphemy laws in America. It is groups like the Muslim Brotherhood that have benefited from our refusal to discuss these elements of Islam and Islamism.

The three other witnesses – Hillel Fradkin of the Hudson Institute, Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and Daniel Benjamin of the Qatar-funded Brookings Institution – agreed to varying degrees that the Muslim Brotherhood constitutes a threat. They recommended, however, more narrow terrorist designations of specific Muslim Brotherhood entities.

Chairman DeSantis observed: “It is clear that the Brotherhood constitutes a real threat to the national security interests of the United States. We can debate the best way to counter this threat, but simply ignoring the threat is not an acceptable answer.”

The Center for Security Policy has submitted a statement for the hearing record endorsing Rep. DeSantis’ assessment and laying out the factual basis for designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

Center President Frank J. Gaffney urged legislators, executive branch officials, the media and the public at large to examine particularly compelling evidence of the threat the Brotherhood poses: Its 1991 Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal of the Group in North America– a secret plan for “destroying Western civilization from within” written by a top Muslim Brotherhood operative, Mohammed Akram, and introduced by the federal government into evidence in the 2008 Holy Land Foundation et.al. v. United States terrorism financing trial.

Rep. Ron DeSantis opens hearing on Muslim Brotherhood’s Global Threat

The House Subcommittee on National Security heard testimony regarding the Muslim Brotherhood’s Global Threat on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

Counter-Islamist Dr. Zuhdi Jasser denounces terrorist Muslim Brotherhood

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy provided testimony to the House Subcommittee on National Security regarding the Muslim Brotherhood’s Global Threat on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

THAT was Obama! In a failed attempt to let the MB experience with governance and then become more democratic in the process.

Because in 2011 the American government thought that it was wrong to support dictatorial leaders like Mubarak, when it seemed the Egyptians longer for freedom and the MB of course deceitfully promised to honour democratic principles.

But the MB in practice broke their promises and immediately tried to achieve total dictatorial power for itself. It fucked up its chance. And thus the MB has itself to blame for the reaction of Al SiSi.

And Al SiSi and America are now allies again.

    TERRORIST ACTS BY MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD

-On December 28, 1948 Egypt’s prime minister, Mahmoud an-Nukrashi Pasha, was assassinated by Brotherhood member and veterinary student Abdel Meguid Ahmed Hassan

-In 1952, members of the Muslim Brotherhood are accused of taking part in arson that destroyed some “750 buildings” in downtown Cairo — mainly night clubs, theatres, hotels, and restaurants frequented by British and other foreigners — “that marked the end of the liberal, progressive, cosmopolitan” Egypt

-1954 attempted assassination of then-president Gamal ‘Abd al-Nasser

-President Anwar Sadat was assassinated by Islamist terrorists on October 6, 1981.

-in 1957, journalist Khalid Daoud thought Egypt’s Coptic Christians and Orthodox Jews should pay the long-abandoned jizya poll tax, levied on non-Muslims

-In December 2006 masked Brotherhood students at Cairo’s Al Azhar University staged a militia-style march, which included the “wearing of uniforms, displaying the phrase, ‘We Will be Steadfast’, and drills involving martial arts.

    -2012, the government of Morsi arrests many journalists and uses gangs of thugs to attack demonstraters; Morsi, then laid the foundations for a new Islamist police state; persecution of minorities increased;

-2012 Morsi government moves hundreds of terrorists into Sinai in preparations for terrorist attacks into Israel.

MOTTO OF MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD ENCOURAGES SUICIDE ATTACKS: Allah is our objective; the Qur’an is the Constitution; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; DEATH FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH IS OUR WISH.”

You missed a few along the way. Hebron in 1928 was Muslim Brotherhood, as was the “Arab rebellion” in Palestine in the 1930s.

And of course, it was the Muslim Brotherhood who were the main enthusiasts, and principal operators, for getting the Arab world to join together and attempt to destroy Israel in 1948.

It was also the MB who were organizing and despatching the fedayeen from Gaza in the 1950s.

The Muslim Brotherhood has been a terrorist organization from the moment it was conceived 98 years ago.

Why beat around the proverbial bush?

The “Muslim Brotherhood” is merely a branch of the largest and longest running Organized Criminal Syndicate, the world has ever known, called ISLAM.

ISLAM’s “Quran” is a formal “Declaration of War” and should be recognized as such.

ISLAM’s War/Jihad against non-Believers should honestly be considered to be, and taught as WW1 in World History classes around the globe.

Unlike that relatively small skirmish that ended after only six years and a day back in 1945, ISLAM’s war against the world has been raging for1400 years.

Our tolerance and willingness to go along to get along will ultimately prove to be freedom’s demise.

That factual and irrefutable assertion is why ‘reformers’ like Jasser are doomed to failure.

You can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig.

    • Demsci says

      May 2, 2019 at 6:53 am

I am as much against Islam as you, Geoffrey, but Allah, through Mohammed, has also declared the deathpenalty for apostasy. Allah has not declared who is the central authority about interpretation of Quran, and Sira, and Hadith. Allah, moreover has not given a peep ever since Mohammed died!

It seems that already back then Allah, or the man who pretended to speak his words, was a mediocre communicator. But with no update in almost 1400 years and doubts whether or not all in Quran Sira Hadiths is still valid to this day or if some parts may be no longer applicable it gets even worse. I really suspect Mohammed was expecting the day of judgement not far from his own time.

Considering all this, Muslims who say the weirdest things, if they were Born as Muslim, MUST be called Muslims, because the rule is: “Nobody gets out!”

So they still have the same claim to validity as the best experts in the Islamic schools of thought.

Zuhdi Jasser indeed does not have much appeal to Muslims. But when it comes to known prejudiced and consciously ignorant or in-denial Leftists and their dupes or copycats; we can hold them at their word that these reformists, just as the “radicals” ALL belong to Islam, so have versions of Islam.

And therefore Islam is multi-interpretable and therefore no version, including the whitewashed versions is the only true one. But if Islam is then confusing at its source that does mean that these texts are very problematic, due to the countless violent interpretations.

In short; Islam is CLEAR and GOOD and harmless is a big lie. But who among the public will accept our claim that Islam is CLEAR and BAD, Dangerous? But they might accept the claim “Islam is UNCLEAR, and THEREFORE BAD and dangerous.

Or so is my opinion, thought experiment.

      • CRUSADER says

        May 2, 2019 at 10:31 am

Is Islam really all that confusing and open to a myriad of interpretations?

Is Islam really like a marketplace — where you take whatever you want from it?

Or is it clear, direct, and a reason why so many do follow it, as it is so instructive?

It reads like an instructions manual with a recipe for ingredients and how to cook in the Queer’an.

That’s what made it popular among the masses of people. No stretch of thought needed.

In fact, thought became shut down in Islam.

It just repeats itself, nothing that will stretch the imagination. Just humans doing their thing.

Islam is a platform to get away from God, and to follow one’s baser instincts while seeming to be ….sanctimonious.

      • Demsci says

        May 3, 2019 at 12:50 am

Yes, yes, you Crusader, and all the people here have good arguments. I confess I struggled with the question of single- or multi-interpretability of Islam for decades now and I am still not sure.

A big reason is that my whole “surrounding”, at work, among friends, family, in the media, is saying variations of “THE Islam does not exist”.

Mordechai Kedar, highly praised Israeli professor, said “Islam is a smorgasbord, everyone can take from it, what they want”.

It seems indeed to me as if many followers of Islam do not bother to think much about it. so yes, Islam is simple and clear, but some followers do not even rise to the level of consistency and just cherry pick what they like from Islam, I guess. And that might make it inadequate in clarity again.

Keep searching for the truth. Whatever WE are, we are not lazy thinkers!

We can debate that; so why was it the “duty of Muslims” to fight the American/ British Armies in Iraq?

Which was what the Muslim Brotherhood mouthpiece Qaradawi said.

America and Britain were not only fighting against Muslims but also FOR Muslims. Arguably they chose a side, but already the Sunni’s warred on the Shiites with their oppression. The Westerners were thus liberating the Shiites. They did not plan to conquer Iraq and they did withdrew eventually, as promised.

Qaradawi in effect declared war to America/ Britain. Maybe this is not about terrorism, but still about a self-declared enemy, the MB.

That seem to be consistent in backing anti-Christian Judaic ideology be it communism,Nazism ,or Islam willing to embrace back and condone all the violent ways of these movements with lying opinion pieces ,hoping against hope for the fall of the Western civilization .Sometimes the mask falls off in the NYT like the overseas opinion version with the Nazi cartoon that would fit right in with a German Newspaper in 1938 .

If no one seems to really prove that the muslim brotherhood is a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION surely it can be proven that they have supported terrorism globally and if that is true then they surely can be classified as a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION…..
Writers in the N Y TIMES and any other news outlet that continue to say that the muslim brotherhood is not associated with terrorism need to take a step back and Jst look st what they are conveying to the public…things that rub against everything AMERICAN and are leaning so far left that they are about to fall off the traitor cliff.
READ THE KORAN AND HADATH ,READ WHAT MUSLIM CLERICS SAY….just because the muslim “man on the street” is not out there pushing the muslim agenda…(WORLD DOMINATION…SHARIA LAW) don’t mean that the Muslims have thrown out Muslim law and accepted American…Constitutional Law No No! There has been no change in them . ….ISLAM IS ISLAM. …. and the “muslim man on the street”, the muslim brotherhood and most if not all, Islamic organizations want the same thing and if it takes terrorism to accomplish that…then so be it.There is no real moderate Islam…..
Why would anyone want to live under the sharia laws is a mystery to me…It goes against every facet of what one would want in their lives .and islam without sharia is like peanut butter without jelly.
