Deradicalization programs, upon which the West has placed so much hope, have long been an obvious failure. Such programs are based on the premise that the true teachings of Islam are peaceful, and so all that needs to be done is show the jihadis how they’re misunderstanding the Qur’an and overlooking its teachings of peace, and all will be well. But since the Qur’an and Sunnah are full of commands to make war against and subjugate unbelievers, the idea that jihadis can be “deradicalized” by reference to them is just a myth told to Infidel authorities to lull them into complacency.
Well, let’s see. Deradicalization programs have been implemented elsewhere, notably in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Let’s look at how they fared. From the Jihad Watch archives:

“‘Wannabe ISIS warrior’ arrested over ‘plan to blow up Sydney landmarks’ was part of deradicalisation program – as the alleged targets are revealed,” by Kelsey Wilkie and Nic White, Daily Mail Australia, July 2, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A 20-year-old man arrested over the alleged terror plot to attack Sydney landmarks had been involved in a deradicalisation program just last year.
Isaak el Matari and a 23-year-old associate were arrested by counter-terrorism police in raids across the city’s west and southwest on Tuesday.
The pair were allegedly planning to travel to Afghanistan where they would pledge allegiance to the jihadis.
It has been revealed that Matari had undergone a deradicalisation program after he was deported from Lebanon in June 2018, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Matari had been held by Lebanese authorities as he was accused of planning to cross the border into Syria to join ISIS.
Since then, Australian authorities had allegedly been monitoring his online activity for any searches on the dark web surrounding importing explosives or firearms into Australia.
AFP Assistant Commissioner Ian McCartney said the alleged plot to attack ‘landmarks’ in the Sydney CBD was still in its early stages.
‘We will say that they had a number of targets, including police stations, defence establishments, embassies and councils, courts and churches,’ he said.
‘[There were] discussions around locations, discussions around importing firearms and explosives to carry out those attacks… they were starting to reach out to people overseas.
‘We will also allege [Matari] had indicated he was willing to travel to Afghanistan to fight for Islamic State, and he made a number of preparations to do so.’…

As for this “deradicalization program”set up in Australia for that Muslim who is also a jihadist likewise has violent and deadly intentions towards people who are not Muslims. This system that is deradicatization program will probably will not have any lasting genuine effect of that jihad -minded Muslim.
This is because the imams and others who mind programmed him into the hard core ,non-watered down Qu ran based ,47:4. 9;111. mindset have in so ingrained jihad mentality into him and likewise damaged in his thinking that no mind deprogramming system will turn him peaceful. He thus will not be straighten out
As the ancient Greek playwright, Aristophanes, wisely wrote “Even the wisest of the wise can never make a crab walk straight.”
Likewise, the philosopher Immanuel Kant had written “Out of the crooked timber of humanity no straight thing can be made.”
mortimer says
Walter, you are wrong. Many former Muslims are fine people helping other Muslims to leave this death cult. Please repent of your inaccurate generalization. Many of those fine former Muslims post daily on Jihadwatch. Their aim is straight and on target and their vision extremely sharp. Some of the most effective deprogrammers are former Muslims.
Muslims are humans who have the wrong information. We must find a way to get accurate information to them.
Robert Laity says
Are you aware of the muslim practice of taqiyya? Lying for the sake of the advancement of Islam.
Obama is a Muslim terrorist who said that he was a “Christian”. That is a patently and immutably mendacious claim. Obama is the ringleader of the Muslim brotherhood and helped initiate Sharia Law in Kenya with his “Paternal Cousin” Raila Odinga. See: “There is no ‘President’ Obama” http://www.thepostemail.com/09/17/2010/there-is-no-president-obama. Are YOU practicing Taqiya now? If these so called muslim “deprogrammers” are so “effective” then you haven’t actually read the facts in the above article or are deliberately ignoring them. Islam/Sharia Law is indefensible. Islam is satanic. Islam is anathema.
TheBuffster says
Robert, Mortimer isn’t talking about Muslims deprogramming other Muslims. He said FORMER Muslims made good de-programmers.
That most likely means de-programming them out of Islam by people who know Islam’s doctrine and why the radicals believe and do what they do.
The problem with the usual deprogramming is the attempt to convince radical Muslims that their religion does not require the subjugation of non-Muslims to Islamic rule when the opportunity arises. But if you’ve got an ex-Muslim doing the job, the aim would most likely be to show the radical that the religion itself is false.
Walter Sieruk says
It’s very important to clarify the meaning of the word “radical” in the mindset of a Muslim in order to have any “deradicatization program to work.
Thus the terms “Radical Muslim” and “Islamic extremist” is actually a misuse of terms. “Moderate Muslim” are actually Western term and not that well known in the Islamic Middle East. This is because what In the Islamic mindset in the Muslim Middle East as well as in Indonesia and other Muslim controlled countries what the non-Muslims of the Western nations view as “radical and “extremist” the Muslims of those places in the world see as “Normal” and even Devout and committed to the Cause of Islam”. Likewise they view those who Westerns see as “Moderate Muslims” those of the Islamic worldview and non-devout and non –committed Muslims. The violent jihadists even see them as “hypocrites.” Therefore, this explains the jihadist chant of those jihad-minded Muslims in different Islamic terror organizations. When they chant out loud “Death to infidels and hypocrites.” Meaning Death to people who and not Muslims and people who are non- jihadist Muslims. So in the Islamic “sense” radical only means devout and likewise a non-devout Muslim means a non-violent ,peaceful “moderate” Muslim.
Concerning the last part of this above essay, the violent spirit of that vicious jihadist chant “Death to infidels and hypocrites.” The later word of the chant “hypocrites” in the jihad –minded Muslim worldview is further explain in the book titled JIHADIST PSYCHOPATH by Jamie Glazov , for on page 42 the reader is informed that “Islam mandates that devout and real Muslims must punish , and in some circumstances kill, those Muslims whom they regard as neither legitimate nor properly devout.”
Robert Laity says
Put another way using the words “Good” and “Bad”. In Judeo-Christian religions being “Good” means obeying God and doing good towards others, making one a “Good” Jew or a “Good” Christian. Those who are “Bad” Jews or Christians disobey the Ten Commandments. Conversely, a “Good” Muslim is one who obeys the tenets of islam and allah, who is NOT God of the Bible but a false god and whose tenets are totally antithetical to the Bible, and engages in murders and maiming, engages in perverse acts with animals, engages in deliberate hate of non-muslims etc. A “Bad” Muslim is one who does NOT do these evil things. Islam is satanic. Islam is anti-religion operating under color of religion.

dumbledoresarmy says
“What if he simply decided to go on a knifing rampage?” Yes. Or.. what if (as numerous jihadis have *already* done – he hired a heavy vehicle – or even just took a perfectly ordinary everyday car he or a family member or other bruvva owned – and … drove straight into a crowd of people, such as outside a primary school at pickup/ drop-off time? Or into a pub or bar at Happy Hour?
And then there’s powdered glass, and poisons… You don’t need to even *buy* stuff from a chemist. All you need is a fellow Mohamedan who knows which fungi or plants – I’m not talking about ricin, I’m talking about perfectly common everyday things, any halfway-informed home *gardener* knows what they are, you don’t need to do online searches – are deadly poisonous already, without any particular special preparation needed apart from harvesting, chopping up/ grinding and then… you just .. adulterate a food source, somewhere.
Incidentally, if I were the AFP (Australian Federal Police) and on the ‘counter-terrorism’ brief, I’d be looking at the lists of students taking subjects such as chemistry, microbiology, pharmacy and toxicology at all our major universities, and looking for names like “Mohammed” and “Fatima”. And looking at what proportion of students with those sorts of names, are doing those sorts of subjects. Maybe somebody in the AFP basement is already doing this.. I hope so.

As for this “deradicatization program” which was set up in Australia with the sincere intention of turning jihad -minded Muslims into peaceful men, lets all hope that this deradicatization system now established in that country will be effective.
Nevertheless , let’s not become naive and unrealistic in the hope the the system will work For the evil influence in Islam with its jihad is both powerful , dangerous and has lasting effects.

Countries are supposed to get some benefit, something positive from the migrants that are allowed to live inside their borders. I keep thinking that Muslim migration into any non-Muslim country is a negative. Last night on one of the TV news reports here in Australia, Peter Dutton, our very good and tough Home Affairs minister, said that 200 police had been involved in the case in this report. That would have been the year long surveillance, etc, of the men mentioned in this report. I look at the cost of this and I think, well, you’d have to have thousands of good Muslim migrants to make up for the costs involved in trying to prevent people like these men from killing Australia’s non-Muslims. To me, it makes no sense. It doesn’t add up. The government are also bringing back many of the ISIS children. Imagine how much they’ll cost the taxpayers as the government has to continually monitor them for many years to see if they are a threat to us or have turned out to be OK people. I think Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia are right to stop Muslim migration. They will certainly save themselves plenty of money because they won’t have to throw money away carrying out surveillance on all these would be terrorists. I can’t see the positives in Muslim migration and think our government (and most other western governments) continues to have some kind of Pollyanna type view of Islam and Muslim migration. They still seem to believe that Muslims are mostly just fine and it’s going OK. Or maybe they are waking up, but just won’t admit that there’s a big problem yet. Maybe I’m wrong, but I can’t see any positive aspect to Muslim migration. I can see it with Buddhists and Christians and others, but not with Muslims.
dumbledoresarmy says
Have you *written* to Mr Dutton? Because you and I and all other Aussies here posting or lurking need to be doing that. We need to write to him and to our PM and foreign minister and defence minister.. and *keep* writing.
Keep hammering on the simple point – “Got Muslims? Got Jihad.” This is the *sixteenth* plot of this sort that has been – fortunately – foiled, since.. 2014. SIXTEEN mass-murder plots… ALL hatched by devout common-or-garden Muslims (one of this latest lot was an attendee at the Lakemba Mosque!.. which OUGHT to be the cue for a surprise raid-and-search of that sinister pile/ bunker/ gang HQ/ military installation/ forward-operating-base in western Sydney) in the course of .. just under five years.
We’ve been lucky so far. But one day one of these plots will elude the police radar, and lots and lots of people – like in Manchester, UK, for example – will be horribly and messily dead.
The ONLY way to prevent that from happening – we have to make this point, loud and clear, to the relevant govt ministers, and just keep hammering on it – is to NOT have Muslims in Australia.
The way to aim for that, is 1/ STOP importing them.. NO identifiable Mohammedan should be allowed to enter Australia, not as a tourist, not as a businessperson, not as a temporary worker, not as a tourist, not as a student, not for any reason whatsoever 2/ protect the bona fide apostates – there are quite a few of those, in fact, but they live in fear and in hiding.. some of the churches know where they are… 3/ expel all non-citizen Muslims (ie… don’t *renew* the visas of those known to be non-citizens, and require those whose visas have ‘run out’, to depart) 4/ legislate to annull the citizenship and prevent the re-entry of those Aussie-passport-holding Muslims who are known to have left the country in order to engage in/ support jihad elsewhere (e.g. in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia). One of the people arrested in this latest batch had been in Lebanon; he was known to be a ticking bomb; he should NEVER have been let back in, his citizenship status should have been annulled.
Let’s all agree to fire off a batch of letters – actual signed letters, on paper – to the relevant Ministers and the PM. Within the week. Let’s request that the Lakemba Mosque be *thoroughly* investigated, and monitored, if it hasn’t been already. I read a report that said one of these plotters got all devout – and therefore became dangerous – after he started attending the Lakemba Mosque. There’s a red flag right there.
Then we all come back and ask each other, in a week’s time – *did* we write those letters? We have to do it, and go on doing it, even if we only get ‘rote’ replies. Think ‘water on stones’. And the more of us do it the better. If all of us who worry about this matter, and are informed, ALL wrote letters every time one of these plots got ‘busted’, and the letters flooded in by the *thousands* – it might start to have an effect.

dumbledoresarmy, see my reply to your comment on the Jihad watch report with the photo of Peter Dutton. I must say that, in recent months, after years of writing to our politicians and calling for them to end Muslim migration,( way back to 2001), I have not bothered lately. I think you have more persistence than I do. I think I will write to Peter Dutton. Many of the others, on Islam not on other issues, I consider to be useless wimps.
mortimer says
Current ‘deradicalization programs’ do not address the main problem with Islam: namely, its allegedly ‘divine’ texts.
What deradicalization teachers are doing is to present a DIFFERENT and MORE MODERATE INTERPRETATION of the ‘divine’ texts of Islam, while still agreeing those texts are ‘divine’. Those under the deradicalization program simply pretend to go along with the new interpretation. But ‘novelty’ or ‘innovation in Islam is a sin called ‘bida’.
The only approach that will work with convinced radicals is to undermine and destroy all faith in the ‘divine’ basis of Islam. Once the source texts are seen to be man-made, there will be no more jihadis, just as there are no practitioners of the ancient Aztec death cult. No one today believes that the ancient Aztec human sacrifice rituals have a divine origin.
tim gallagher says
I couldn’t agree more with what you said there, Mortimer. Convincing Muslims that their evil, barbaric creed is not from god has to be the ultimate answer. It is certainly one very evil type of god that could endorse all the evil that is in Islam. It is such a disgusting view of what god is like. If god were as vile as the Islamic version of what god is, any decent human being would have to refuse to serve such a god. Some of the things Allah calls for are so obviously evil, by any civilised standards, such as hating and trying to kill non-Muslims, etc.

Thankyou Robert for providing all the articles which point to the fact that de -radicalisation programmes provided by naive, hopeful Western liberal governments don’t work. They won’t work simply because Islam was inspired by Satan in the first place. St Paul told the Corinthians”Even Satan can disguise himself to appear as an angel of light” [Cor 2 chap 11 Verse 14] Consequently, unless ALL Muslims renounce Islam and convert to Christianity, which is NOT going to happen, there will always be SOME Muslims who will act on a literal interpretation of the verses in the Koran and resort to violence.
