“According to him, radical Islamic terrorism ‘is an evil that must be seen as the common enemy of all faiths, including Islam. As the president said, and I paraphrase, anyone who says Allahu Akbar and goes on to kill is either insane or dangerously ignorant of the tenets of Islam.’”
Ignorant of which tenets? We constantly hear this asserted, but we never see an Islamic explanation of how, exactly, jihad terrorists are misunderstanding Islam. And saying that Christians and Muslims should unite against “radical Islamist terrorism” is like saying the fox and the hens should unite against the fox’s raiding of the henhouse.
“Yemi Osinbajo Urges Muslims, Christians to Unite against Terrorism,” by Gboyega Akinsanmi, This Day, July 7, 2019:
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday called on Muslims and Christians to unite against radical Islamist terrorism, stressing that it was a common enemy of all faiths.
Osinbajo urged Christians and Muslims to unite against fanatics committed to a twisted creed, which exploited the tenets of Islam, poverty, and exclusion “to recruit men and women and use children to perpetuate the most heinous atrocities.”
The vice president spoke at the 2019 Nigerian Army Day Celebration and Combat Support Arms Training Week held at the Ikeja Cantonment, in Lagos. He said terrorists did not have responsible grievances and, therefore, no terms of reference for peace.
According to him, radical Islamic terrorism “is an evil that must be seen as the common enemy of all faiths, including Islam. As the president said, and I paraphrase, anyone who says Allahu Akbar and goes on to kill is either insane or dangerously ignorant of the tenets of Islam.”
Reassuring the families and friends of captives of the Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram, that the federal government would ensure their freedom, Osinbajo noted that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari “will not relent in our efforts to see that all the remaining girls, including Leah Sharibu, are freed and reunited with their families.”
He, however, lamented that the federal government “has seen other threats emerging, even as we have seen a curtailing of the threat represented by Boko Haram.”
Citing the cases of the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) and others currently operating in the Lake Chad islands and parts of Southern Borno, Osinbajo stated, “The likes of Boko Haram, ISIS, ISWAP and many Salafist Jihadist ideologies are expansionist ideologies that feed purely on hate, hatred of any person or group that does not belong to their particular sect.
“They have no responsible grievances. So, there are no terms of reference for peace. They are fanatics committed to a twisted creed. They exploit the ignorance of the tenets of Islam, poverty and exclusion, recruit men and women and use children to perpetuate the most heinous atrocities.”…

Not, this is not Taqiyya–Osinbajo is a powerless Christian engaging in wishful thinking. This kind of dhimmitude is *not* helpful, though.

Till Islam itself is held accountable for the murder and mayhem of which its devotees terrorize, then we will see no progress in lessening the threat of this ancient scourge.
Devotees to Islam are all dangerous. Some may seemingly follow a moderate ‘Islam’; but in truth, Islam is a vicious and ignorant monstrosity that doesn’t deserve the respect apologists give it — often only because of Islam’s threats to life itself if it isn’t respected.
So t,hose who say Islam is ‘ok’, ‘ its only the terrorists or misunderstanders’ .. then ask them when they became terrorized sufficiently to claim such twaddle.

I keep hearing this from several sources but none of them can explain, resorting to islamic texts and historical precedent, why, where and how terrorists “ignore” islamic tenets…

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a distinguished jurist, professor of law and Christian pastor as well. He certainly knows a lot, but does he know the Islamic teachings of AL WALAA WAL BARAA (the motive of Islam) and JIHAD (the method of Islam) ???
It is likely that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has not studied either teaching in depth and is thus unprepared for dealing with the hatred that Muslims direct against kafirs and unprepared for militant jihad … the method of Mohammed.
In the meantime Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be subjected to an unending river of taqiyya from Muslims around him, and without a profound notion of the Islamic source texts, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be unable to understand what the Islamists around him are doing.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is flying blind in the matter of Islam. good luck with that.

Yemi Osinbajo is full of crap and he knows it. He and his government sit by and watch Boko Haram slaughter Nigerian Christians at will and does nothing to help the Nigerian military defeat these sub-human slugs. I would like to know why there has been no concerted effort to completely eradicate them and the villagers who assist them. The Nigerian army is more than large enough to extinguish this incubus like plague that abrades the energy of nation. If Muhammadu Buhar were to remove the restraints on the military and properly fund it and the soldiers themselves, this myxomycetous that covers the much of Hausa population and the small Christian population of northern Nigeria could be wiped out in months. The governments in Ndjamena and Yaoundé have proven they have the will and know how to fight this plague but Buhar let them down with his inaction (or maybe support of Boko Haram).
The same effort is required to rid the nation of the Fulani pestilence. This infestation actually kills more Christians than Boko Haram and then steals the property of the vanquished. Buhar seems to have made no effort to assist the Christians what so ever. There is an old Nigerian axiom, “If an honest man were to be elected in Nigeria, he would be killed.” So far it appears that there have been no honest men elected as of now.

jarmanray, I hear you. You are probably quite right about most of this, but I get the impression Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is one of the most honest men in Nigeria today. He’s working against the horrible situation you have described. He has to try to win friends and influence people. Not easy in divided Nigeria. There is obviously a large Islamist element that supports the violence.

And to think that Trump is best buddies with the Nigerian president! Sickening, but he invited the man to the White House, and spoke all sweet nothings, about HIM!

This is the SAME year he hosted a ramadan dinner IN the White House, and made such a pretty speech to the millions of “them”, that we have in this country. THAT speech is also on the White House dot GOV website! I have the link, in case you haven’t see it yet.

Good luck with that idea,Yemi Osinbajo!. Yemi Osinbajo is a hypocrite and probably doesn’t really care a bit.

What’s he gonna do? If he tells the truth he’ll not be VP very long…maybe not alive very long. So, he lies, and lies and agrees with the moslim who is his boss.
He has to know that the terrorists, known as the fulani, were recently given loads of money with which they bought more weapons to use against the Christians in the little villages.
He has to know that for ***years*** boko haram has been kidnapping, raping and killing young girls…and getting away with it because the government is moslim.
He has to know that he is only VP because he claims Christianity and the country’s constitution says that there must be a token Christian in the government.
He knows he’s lying…and he knows that the Christians in Nigeria know he’s lying and that they’ll get no help from the government. But to keep his job, he has to lie. But, lying is from satan the devil. So, on whose side is he really?

Nigeria’s Vice President urges Muslims and Christians to unite against “radical Islamist terrorism”
……………………….
Note that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a Christian–he is, indeed, the Pastor-in-charge of the Lagos headquarters of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Of course, the president of Nigeria is Muhammadu Buhari–a Muslim who has been pretty flaky about doing anything to oppose Boko Haram and other Jihad terror groups. Some of this may be ineptitude, but one worries that he is largely in sympathy with them.
This is just wishful thinking here from Osinbajo.

This is what drives me crazy when I listen to or read articles by Muslims living in the West or non-Muslim apologists who criticize other Muslims who are faithfully following the example of Muhammad after his hijrah to Medina. It’s either ignorance, denial or deception (taqiyya) when they say “extremists” have “hijacked” Islam. Islam is in fact an extremist, inhumane, warmongering genocidal cult. It begs the question why would any sane, humane individual want to be associated with a genocidal cult? Are they afraid of being killed for apostasy? That proves the point that Islam is a inhumane murderous cult.
