Double whammy here: Islamic texts are as negative toward dogs as they are toward Jews.
“Once Gabriel promised the Prophet (that he would visit him, but Gabriel did not come) and later on he said, ‘We, angels, do not enter a house which contains a picture or a dog.’” — Sahih Bukhari 4.54.50

Umar) (Allah be pleased with them) reported: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs and we would send (men) in Medina and its corners and we did not spare any dog that we did not kill, so much so that we killed the dog that accompanied the wet she-camel belonging to the people of the desert.” — Sahih Muslim 3811
“Ibn Mughaffal reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered killing of the dogs, and then said: What about them, i. e. about other dogs? and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time.” — Sahih Muslim 551
The Qur’an depicts the Jews as inveterately evil and bent on destroying the well-being of the Muslims. They are the strongest of all people in enmity toward the Muslims (5:82); they fabricate things and falsely ascribe them to Allah (2:79; 3:75, 3:181); they claim that Allah’s power is limited (5:64); they love to listen to lies (5:41); they disobey Allah and never observe his commands (5:13). They are disputing and quarreling (2:247); hiding the truth and misleading people (3:78); staging rebellion against the prophets and rejecting their guidance (2:55); being hypocritical (2:14, 2:44); giving preference to their own interests over the teachings of Muhammad (2:87); wishing evil for people and trying to mislead them (2:109); feeling pain when others are happy or fortunate (3:120); being arrogant about their being Allah’s beloved people (5:18); devouring people’s wealth by subterfuge (4:161); slandering the true religion and being cursed by Allah (4:46); killing the prophets (2:61); being merciless and heartless (2:74); never keeping their promises or fulfilling their words (2:100); being unrestrained in committing sins (5:79); being cowardly (59:13-14); being miserly (4:53); being transformed into apes and pigs for breaking the Sabbath (2:63-65; 5:59-60; 7:166); and more. They are under Allah’s curse (9:30), and Muslims should wage war against them and subjugate them under Islamic hegemony (9:29).

A Turkish Islamist newspaper has published an anti-Semitic report claiming that Jews living in Istanbul’s Beykoz district had trained dogs to bite Muslims.
Yeni Akit published a letter from a reader, İclal Yalçınlar, containing the anti-Semitic slur.
The letter said street dogs had taken control of a neighbourhood of Beykoz, and “Jews and masons” living in the area had been setting them on the Muslim inhabitants. More than 100 Muslims had been bitten by dogs, it said.
The letter also raised centuries-old blood libel claims that said Jews living in Spain had tortured Christian children by putting them in barrels full of nails.
Blood libel – unsubstantiated claims about Jews ritually torturing or murdering children – has been raised against Jewish communities in countries around the world for centuries. It has often preceded and been used to justify massacres.
Similar claims were made before Jewish pogroms in Europe and Iran early in the 20th century, and were used to fuel anti-Semitism by the Nazi Party in Germany in the 1930s.
The letter published by Yeni Akit drew revulsion from readers and politicians alike.
