Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Will Trump designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization?

Jul 9, 2019 1:00 pm By Rami Dabbas

After the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, a year following its hijack of the Arab Spring and kidnapping of the revolution of the Egyptians and Syrians after massive peaceful protest movements in the Arab Spring countries, the Trump administration is considering correcting a mistake which allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to be part of the democratic process in all countries.

The New York Times reported in late April that “the White House is pushing to issue an order that would designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization, bringing the weight of American sanctions against a storied and influential Islamist political movement with millions of members across the Middle East, according to officials familiar with the matter.”

Perhaps it’s the “decision of the century” to include the Muslim Brotherhood on the terrorist lists, but first and foremost, it’s a security decision, and a political  decision only secondarily. From the beginning of  the 2016 election campaign, US President Donald Trump has not hidden his disgust with those who “harbor hatred and evil” for America, the free world, and humane and civil values. He did not hesitate to mention this on more than one occasion, both before and after taking office. Trump’s position is supported by the vast majority of Americans, but the ongoing conflict has been over how to deal with this evil. The difficulty is within the title of this organization and its mandate of “political Islam” and apparent presentation of “moderate Islamists.” Yet those who have studied political Islam certainly know that the Muslim Brotherhood is a militant political organization. They are also fully aware that Machiavellian conduct is part and parcel of this organization, under the guise of pious and pragmatic opportunism.

The public and the private debates over the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamists in general cannot continue to ignore the historical mistakes of two of America’s most popular Presidents: Republican Ronald Reagan and Democrat Barack Hussein Obama. Ronald Reagan hosted the students of Hassan al-Banna and Sayed Qutb in the White House, and history will not forget Barack Obama’s failed attempt to empower the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and elsewhere.

President Trump continues to create a maelstrom of controversy as he continues to implement his campaign promises, and  his desire to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization is no exception. This will create a tsunami that I see more important than any decision so far on a security level.

The Brotherhood’s status as a terrorist organization and not a political party or  association will lead to a security screening process – in both Arab Muslim and European countries. Then follows the screening of the Brotherhood’s extended circle of influence, including legal, political, intellectual, cultural and media influences.

The decision will help to rehabilitate countries that have not hesitated to take this courageous and dangerous step, and at the same time, “wave a big stick at all the snakes,” which will help in fighting jihad terrorists and their sympathizers.

The decision will promote modernization, will stop the incitement against those who don’t agree with political Islam and any ideology or organization that is allied with the Muslim Brotherhood, and will help to fight jihad terrorism worldwide. This could create a new era not only in the United States, but also in Europe and the Arab world. This decision will promote human rights, democracy, women rights, peaceful coexistence between nations, and religious freedom  worldwide.

I think I remember a graph from Robert that showed the v connection of muslim organizations connected to the muslim brotherhood and by now using feel sure that connection has expanded.
ROBERT..if you would publish those v connections again it sure would be appreciated.
In my opinion ALL Muslim organizations have a connection go the muslim brotherhood.
If a muslim country calls the brotherhood a terrorist group then why shouldn’t the U. S. also place them on the terrorist list.

They should have been designated a terrorist long ago, and probably would have been if it not for a lying, muslim president who had an adviser (read boss) closely connected with the muslim brotherhood. Like her mother and father were both charter members.

“I have complete faith that Islam will invade Europe and America, because Islam has logic and a mission.” Muhammad Mahdi Othman ‘Akef made that statement in 2004 when he took over leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood. But he didn’t mean an invasion of armies, or even of bomb-wielding terrorists: “The Europeans and the Americans”, he explained, “will come into the bosom of Islam out of conviction”

Forming that conviction in the minds of European and American non-Muslims would take a concerted effort spanning years and comprising many fronts. But the ultimate goal of the stealth jihad is clear: the elimination of Western civilization.

This was unequivocally enunciated by a top Brotherhood operative in this country, Mohamed Akram, who explained that the Muslim Brotherhood “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

      — so wrote Robert Spencer in the 2016 pamphlet for the Freedom Center:
      “The Muslim Brotherhood’s Plan”

        — some perspective:
        ================

Mohamed Mahdi Othman Akef was born the same year the Muslim Brotherhood was founded – 1928. He was born in one of the villages of Mansoura City to the north of Cairo and was brought up with 10 siblings by a father who was wealthy at the time. Mohammad attended primary school in al-Mansoura before moving to Cairo to live in a popular area called al-Sakakini.

        Mahdi Akef in brief —

Born in Kafr Ewad al-Sinita – the Aja Daqhaliya Centre, school [Mansoura] primary, then the Fuad I High School in Cairo, then he joined the Higher Institute of Sport Education and graduated in May 1950. After graduation he worked as a physical education teacher at Foud I High School.

He came to know of the Brotherhood early on in 1940 and was educated up by the elders and scholars including Hassan al-Banna. One of the Sheikhs dearest to him was Muhibb al-Din al-Khatib. He joined the Faculty of Law in 1951 and led Ibrahim University [currently Ain Shams] camps in the war against England in the channel [citation needed] until the revolution was underway and left the university camps to Kamal al-Din al-Hussein who was responsible for the National Guard at the time.

The last position Akef held in the Brotherhood before the decision to dissolve it was issued in 1954 was president of the student section. He was also chairman of the Department of Physical Education at the General Centre of the Muslim Brotherhood.

He was arrested in early August 1954 and was tried on charges of smuggling Major general Abdel Moneim Abdel Raouf – an army leader one of the symbols of the Muslim Brotherhood – who oversaw the expulsion of King Farouk – and he was sentenced to death. This was commuted later commuted to life imprisonment with hard labour.

He was released from prison in 1974 during the reign of the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat to resume his work as Director-General of Youth at the Ministry of Reconstruction. He moved to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to work as a consultant to the Islamic World Youth Assembly, and responsible for its international camps and conferences.

He participated in organising the largest Muslim Youth Camps in the world beginning in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Turkey, Australia, Mali, Kenya, Cyprus, Germany, Britain, and America. He served as the director of the Islamic Centre in Munich.

He has worked as a member of the Guidance Bureau; the highest leadership body inside the Organisation since 1987. He was elected a member of the People’s Assembly in 1987 by the Department of east Cairo as part of the Islamic Alliance list whose umbrella the Brotherhood ran under.

He was brought before a military court in 1996 in what is known as the Salsabil Affair which at the time included a large number of the leadership of the Brotherhood, and was accused of being responsible for the Brotherhood’s global organisation. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

He has good relations with most of the leaders of Islamic action across the globe.

        Joining Muslim Brotherhood —

When he was 12 years old in 1940, his attention was attracted by the Muslim Brotherhood’s interest in the sport he loved and “the gentle and sophisticated way the Brotherhood dealt”. Akef joined to the group, which at the time had gone through major expansion.

After he finished Fouad secondary school, he joined the Faculty of Engineering. However, Sheikh Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, indirectly directed him to enrol in the Higher Institute of Physical Education as he wanted members of the brotherhood to be present in all schools, colleges and institutes at the time and because of the love and inclination he saw that he had for sport.

        His activities —

Akef joined the special organisation of the Brotherhood established to resist British colonialism and graduated from the Institute of Education in 1950. He then enrolled in the Faculty of Law in 1951 and lead the Ibrahim University [currently Ain Shams] camps in the war against British colonial rule of the Canal until the Revolution began. He then worked as head of the student section which was one of the most important sections in the organisation; it was lead by Hassan al-Banna himself and the head of the Department of Physical Education at the General Centre of the Muslim Brotherhood.

He was arrested on 1 August 1954 and was tried on charges of smuggling ‘Abdul Moneim Abdel Raouf’ – one of the military leader who oversaw the expulsion of King Farouk – and he was sentenced to death. This was then commuted to life imprisonment with hard labour and he spent 20 whole years in prison.

When he was released during Sadat’s rule in 1974, he embarked on youth work and took the post of Director-General of Youth at the Ministry of Learning and Education. He then worked at the Islamic World Youth Assembly in Saudi Arabia where he established large camps for young people across the Islamic world.

In 1980, he then travelled to Germany where he worked as director of the Islamic Centre of Munich. He returned to Egypt in 1986 where he again led the youth and student section of the Muslim Brotherhood. He has worked as a member of the Guidance Bureau from 1987 until the current.

Akef was one of 35 members of the Popular Council that represented the Muslim Brotherhood bloc in parliament in 1987 for East Cairo. He is of the opinion that the brotherhood achieved success in this session because “they continuously spoke about public interest and government monitoring as a primary goal of the council as well as monitoring and discussing laws and the budget… etc… I am a person who has benefited a lot from policy and how to make events from the source” He said.

At the beginning of 1995, tension in the relationship between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian government reached a peak and the latter launched a detention campaign against many of the middle generation of the Muslim Brotherhood and brought them before a series of military trials that lasted over 5 years. Akef was brought before Military court in 1996 accused of responsibility for the international organisation of the Brotherhood and was sentenced to three years in prison to be released in 1999 and the last post he held was to supervise contact with the Islamic world.

Then he assumed the position of General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood after the death of Muhammad Ma’mun al-Hodeibi in January 2004 and continued until his term expired in January 2010. Br Muhammad Badi was chosen to succeed him although he is still present in the organisation.

He is married to the sister of the Brotherhood leader Mahmoud Ezzat and God has blessed them with children.

        Akef and the guides —

Akef believes that al-Banna was a broad minded, knowledgeable man with the heart that accommodated all people, even his opponents. That Hudaibi was a godly man committed to the truth and feared no one in this regard. That Hamed Abu Nasr was a mild-mannered man of ethics with a high level of commitment to the opinion of the brotherhood.

However, he disagreed with Umar al-Talmasani because al-Talmasani he viewed the Shura as an instructor rather than as binding in the context of Islamic Jurisprudence. “This is of course a jurisprudential opinion, and I used to follow the other juristic opinion that it is binding.”

Mullahs hide in the mosques, and move money while inciting followers to commit violence. This is a criminal enterprise.

The US should use the RICO statutes to, declare Islam, a criminal enterprise. Then close Islam down as it presently exists in the US.

RICO allows the government to follow crime and money. Then, arrest all, and confiscate anything in its path.

You can be sure the movement of money for jihad is widespread. You can be sure the incitement and communication between mullahs and mosques is widespread. You can also be sure there is foreign involvement. The RICO statutes were made just for this type of activity.

Use a small army of CPAs and attorneys to investigate every jihad attack. Follow 100% of the money back to its source. Track anyone involved, in any way. Then use the RICO statutes to jail, confiscated, and shut down all involved. That includes:

M1 – Shutting down mosques involved in any jihad attack.
    M2 – Arrest mullahs involved.
M3 – Follow, and confiscate, all jihad money back to its source.

      Bob Smith,

I agree, the Muslim Brotherhood is a criminal enterprise – and also a terrorist organization. Pres. Trump should declare this.

If the United States could use the RICO statutes to to shut them down, that would be a great approach.

Anything that works. After all, the feds got Al Capone on tax evasion when nothing else would stick.

excellent idea, but nobody in government seems to be listening. or if they are, they’re leftists who *want* the killing to continue – nay, *increase* – until society begins to collapse. after that, the people’s republic will be instantiated.

actually, it would be quite entertaining to watch the leftists and pious muslims murder one another, were they both not trying to kill as many non-leftists or non-muslims as possible. if we can rouse enough patriots from their leftist-indoctrination-induced slumber, we may be blessed enough that the slaughter will be confined to the hard left and the ummah … but i wouldn’t plan on that.

        ……………………………….

This is about the Muslim Brotherhood–not Islam in general. The Muslim Brotherhood’s aim is to impose Shari’ah law on everyone.

But then, “DefenderofIslam” has said the same thing–that when Muslim have sufficient numbers in the United States that he and his coreligionists plan to destroy the Constitution and impose Islamic law on us.

He is saying that we “donot (sic) believe in freedom of religion” if we do not want Muslims to persecute, rape, and murder us.

        More:

You put america citizens who are musim (sic) into death camps like they to alien in america right now with dictator tump (sic).

Yes, the MB should be designated a terrorist organization. The United Emirites already have done this. The MB is a multi layered organization. At the top are the so called moderates who call the shots, they are made up of businessmen and professionals. They are what is shown to the West. Below them are the hard core who push for sharia. The lowest level are the hard core jihadi’s. I believe that Obama, Erdogan and others are members! A terrorist designation will cause the hidden ones to be revealed.

Yes, he should do it. If going all the way with sanctions for all branches is necessary? Just having them as tools for now is perhaps OK.

Not all MB persons or parts are violent or even dangerous in the moment. It is just that all MB-members are “Enemies” or at best “Adversaries” in their political goal. They are anti-democratic. We are pro-democratic. Between us are billions of disinterested ignorant neutral persons, on the one hand those of all other religions and on the other the many lukewarm Muslims.

It is ironic that by decreasing the religious freedom of MB-members we thereby help increase religious freedom of the followers of the other religions, indirectly.
