In support of U.S. efforts in the Gulf, “Australia will send a warship, surveillance aircraft and Defence Force personnel to the Persian Gulf to join an international effort to combat Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Eliminating the threat of the global jihad should be a primary focus in the West. Iran has managed to expand aid to its proxies, and continue its nuclear buildup with brazen confidence under a nuclear deal that was signed by fearful Westerners to appease Iran, allowing the mullahs to buy time. Now Iran is an aggressor in international waters in the Gulf, claiming that its actions are a reaction to Trump’s pulling out of the Iran Nuclear Deal.
Western leaders have collectively failed to stand up to jihadists, whose aim is intimidation, a key means they use to subjugate infidels and advance efforts to subvert the House of War.
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may strike terror into the hearts of the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know, whom Allah knows. (Qur’an 8:60)
Australia has made a wise decision to contribute to the American-led mission in the Strait of Hormuz, which is “aimed at protecting freedom of navigation in the Gulf region” — a right under international law.
“Australia to join US military effort to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz,” by Sarah Martin and Ben Doherty, Guardian, August 21, 2019:
Australian forces will make a “modest, meaningful and time-limited” contribution to a United States-led mission in the Strait of Hormuz aimed at protecting freedom of navigation in the Gulf region.
Labor has supported the new mission as “appropriate”, but critics are warning the involvement of Australia’s military in the region could be seen as an “act of aggression” in breach of international law.
The prime minister, Scott Morrison, announced on Wednesday that Australia would send forces to the Middle East because “destabilising behaviour” in the Gulf was a threat to Australian interests.
“The government has been concerned over incidents involving shipping in the Strait of Hormuz over the past few months,” Morrison said.
“This destabilising behaviour is a threat to our interests in the region, particularly our enduring interest in the security of global sea lanes.
“The government has decided it’s in Australia’s national interests to work with our international partners to contribute to an international maritime security mission … in the Middle East.”
Morrison said about 15% of crude oil and 30% of refined oil destined for Australia came through the Strait of Hormuz, meaning instability in the region was also an economic threat that needed to be confronted….

All this fits with the actual legacy of Ayatollah Khomeini is the of violence and war. To be more specific Islamic violence and war. Strangely, there are many young people and strangely many older people, who are Westerns who in the United States as well other countries of the West are, no doubt sincere but very misinformed ,as in misled, therefore say ,because they believe it, that “Islam is a peaceful and non-violent religion .” To those people the first and supreme Ayatollah Khomeini , who was the very head this current Islamic regime of Iran knows better stated about how he feels about those naïve Westerns .For he declared “Islam grew with blood….Islam is a religion of blood for the infidels” He also said “Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war….I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.” [1]
So, in other words Ayatollah Khomenei felt nothing but arrogant contempt for those people who say that his religion “Is a peaceful religion” and understand that they in ignorant and uninformed.
Therefore the West needs to wake up to the reality of the truth about the actual violent essence of this religion.

Most people in Western nations are quite ignorant of Islam and its fundamental doctrines. Many just think that because Islam is a major world religion it must be good

Grimly true, Graeme.

This situation keeping with the national character of the rough Islamic state of Iran . Therefore that attack, by Iran, should be of no surprise to any informant person, in fact , this fits in with the real legacy of Ayatollah Khomeini who was the Imam who was so powerful that he played large role in the establishment of the current Islamic tyranny of Iran which has the official title of “ The Islamic Republic of Iran” Khomeini had declared “ Jihad or Holy War ,which is for the conquest of [other ] countries and kingdoms , becomes incumbent after the formation of the Islamic State in the presence of the Imam or in accordance with his command. Then Islam makes it incumbent on all males…to prepare themselves for the conquest of countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world… those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world. The goal of this conquest would be to establish the hegemony of Islamic law.” [1]

Right behind Austria’s fleet, by the creek

Get your facts right,,,we call them PRAWNS not Shrimp.
Americans call them Schrimp because the ones they have are so small!
And yes, our navy, whilst small does punch above it’s weight.

Don’t carry on like some bitchy triggered sheila ya wombat, old matey only called them a shrimp because Hoges did. God’s speed to the RAN, you make us proud.

Generally speaking, Australians don’t take themselves too seriously, and we can usually handle a bit of self mockery.
Question: What does a well balanced Australian look like?
Answer: He’s someone with a chip on both shoulders.

Here in Australia in recent times, there has been quite a bit of attention given to the fact that we have let our reserves of oil fall very low. A former Army General, who was a Senator in the federal parliament until recently, Jim Molan, has been speaking a lot about this problem, trying to wake our political leaders up to the problem they have allowed to develop. He has been saying that if problems suddenly arise, such as this Iran situation and also, I think, China’s aggressive attitude in the South China Sea in recent times, Australia could very quickly run out of oil supplies. I’m not sure if what I’m saying is exactly right, but I heard Jim Molan, who seems a very sensible guy, interviewed recently and I think he said we should have oil supplies to last 90 days, but we have only a little over 20 or 30 days supplies left. It was something like that. I think it has arisen just out of inattention or slackness. And now things are getting more volatile. So I think the Australian government’s quick decision to get involved in the Strait of Hormuz is partly because Jim Molan has managed to wake a few people up to Australia’s precarious situation. We have to keep the supply routes for oil open or, very soon, we are in huge strife.

gravenimage, I’m pretty sure that Australia and the USA will always be close allies since they are part of western civilisation and will defend western freedoms, etc. They’ll always be heading in pretty much the same direction. The USA definitely saved Australia from Japanese invasion in WWII. Of course, there is some anti-Americanism amongst some Australians, probably like you would get amongst some Europeans. Here is something that was quite humorous on the radio on the east coast of Australia this morning, which you and the other Americans at Jihad Watch might enjoy. It was on Alan Jones’s show, which is the highest rating news radio show, so hundreds of thousands would be listening. Australia’s government has been very much caught up in the whole climate change, getting rid of coal power, etc, and power prices have shot up. There are some Australian companies going offshore to do business because the renewable energy is too expensive. Also, poorer and older people are freezing in winter because they can’t afford to heat their homes, etc. So some people are thinking Australia’s economy is really going to go downhill. Maybe it will unless we wake up. Alan Jones reads out a few letters people have sent on current issues and today, some wit had written, well, now that Denmark has refused to let Donald Trump buy Greenland, do you think we could get him to buy Australia. We’d get cheaper power and a stronger economy and fix a lot of our other problems and prevent us ending up a third world country in the long run. I thought it was quite funny. Maybe it would be joke that some people in some European countries would also be making.

Tim. I have relatives in Australia. We are close allies.
And Australia has been (generally) pretty savvy when it come to Jihad. Le’ts stand together.
tim gallagher says
gravenimage, I’m pretty sure the two countries will always be solid allies because of our shared western values. I know I’m always going to be fighting against islam since realising how barbaric it is. But also, I have always appreciated our western civilisation ,which is something that I notice is lacking in many people I come across. They don’t have as strong a belief in it as I do. I’ve never shared the anti-American sentiment of some people I’ve worked with, but they were usually pretty left wing in their views of everything. Also, I come across plenty of people who haven’t really woken to Islam’s nature yet. Australia and all the countries out in our region are going to face a huge problem in the future with the dominance that China is going to have in this part of the world. Your relatives in Australia would probably have some sense of this upcoming problem. It is certainly discussed a lot lately. Australia may be a very large area of land but has only 25 million people. China, with its billion plus people, is going to become very dominant. As I’m almost 70 years old, I’m not personally concerned about it, but younger people will face some problems. I thought the joke about Denmark and getting Trump to buy Australia was quite funny because it was such an unexpected thing to come up with. On the fight against Islam, I keep hoping that everyone out here would wake up. There are just so many slow learners around.

It had been explained to me that UNFORTUNATELY Australia is turning more toward European sympathies and away from its more ruggedly independent, self reliant – almost Western American – persona.

Not all of us mate, but yes unfortunately at the moment the left controls the media, educational and political landscape. Too many idiots have too much say and we are going down the same path as the UK, the Queen is still our sovereign after all. RAN stands for ROYAL Australian Navy btw.
tim gallagher says
CRUSADER, on that issue you raise, I’m not sure where Australia stands in comparison with other western nations. What you say, Paul J, is pretty accurate. The problems I read about here at Jihad Watch and from other sources make me think that our western nations have very similar problems with political correctness, the caving in to Islam, the belief that multiculturalism can work when it comes to islam, which I don’t believe is possible, etc. When I read about Sweden and even the UK I think Australia is in nowhere near as bad shape as those countries seem to be, but I do think Australia is fairly weak. I read about issues with Islam here at Jihad Watch in other countries and I think, yep, very similar here in Australia. It’s also about the march of the left through the institutions such as schools and universities, indoctrinating the young people, which seems to be the same everywhere. When it comes to Islam, I keep thinking that Hungary and those Visegrad countries have the right, tough approach. They show us how our countries should act towards Muslim migration, etc. I think Australia is more like the countries of western Europe and is too tolerant and just too damned nice and politically correct when dealing with Islam. Anyway, that’s how I see Australia and many local commentators say similar things.

This is good news. The Iran regime has to be intimidated, challenged and put down. Any of their ships must be blown out of the water, it’s the only language they understand. This should be followed by a complete blockade until enough Iranians rise up and put their so called leaders on the end of a construction crane.

“…but critics are warning the involvement of Australia’s military in the region could be seen as an act of aggression…” Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!! This sentiment reminds me of the movie starring Peter Sellers in The Mouse That Roared, or when an elephant freaks out over the sight of a mouse, or when the curtain is pulled away from the Great Wizard of Oz revealing a doddering old man. Please!!! Get real already!!! It’s high time for modern Western countries to stop being afraid of their own shadows.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way!

Thank you Australia for your wisdom to step up to the problem of allowing Iran to violate International laws of the sea.

I find it disappointing and somewhat bewildering that anyone would admire or respect any decision made by an Australian politician..considering that they have been selling
Australia down the tubes to overseas interests for decades and continue to do so.
I have no respect for Australian politicians from either side. We only have 28 days of oil reserves due to their incompetence. Of course they have to assist the US..they have no choice..but then again all our industries have been closed down by government for decades, so I guess we have to kiss everyones arse….
gravenimage says
Your implication that the United States threatens her allies is utter calumny. No one has to join with us.
the hermit says
Well, practically no-one did….except Bahrain and the lackey from the UK…..
the hermit says
Where did I say that the US threatened her allies…my post is simply to point out the incompetence of Australian politicians inletting our oil reserves become so depleted.
And for the record, Australian politicians kiss everyones arse…not just the US…
Oh sorry, Ive already said that…I guess our politicians have to as they have permitted
Australia to be raped for decades by overseas interests….
Do some research and you will see that Im correct…its a well known fact in Australia…
