The Palestinian-Nazi connection is historic, and the common goal to rid the world of Jews remains to this day:
Nazi ideology is consistent with the original charter of Hamas which called for the murder of every Jew on the planet. This message was reiterated earlier this month by Fathi Hammad, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council elected by the Palestinian people and a leader in Hamas, who called for all of the Palestinians around the world, his “brothers in the diaspora”, to rise up and kill Jews all over the world. “Oh, you seven million Palestinians abroad, enough warming up!” Hammad said in a speech at the riots. “There are Jews everywhere! We must attack every Jew on planet Earth – we must slaughter and kill them, with Allah’s help. Enough warming up!”
One cannot fathom the fallout if a politician in the West uttered such words of hate and incitement to murder. Yet no notice has been taken of this, despite the fact that if Palestinians ever achieve statehood, the bloodlust enunciated by Hammad will only intensify.
In April, Palestinians flew a swastika kite carrying a petrol bomb across the Gaza border into Israel. Then earlier this month, for no other reason other than to protect its image, Hamas sent out a message for Palestinians to stop using swastikas. Nevertheless, the hate continued. Before the month was even finished, swastikas and other Nazi symbols were again displayed on the Palestinian side of the border during Hamas riots.
“IDF Soldier With Relatives Who Died in Holocaust Horrified at Hamas Swastika,” by Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz, Breaking Israel News, August 25, 2019:
A female IDF soldier stationed on the security fence protecting Israel from Gaza during the weekly March of Return riots was horrified to see Swastikas and other Nazi symbols displayed on the Palestinian side of the border. The symbols hurt her deeply as she had lost relatives in the Holocaust.
This is the second time this month the Nazi symbol was displayed at the Hamas-run riots and the Palestinians have flown their flag several times at the riots alongside the Swastika. At the time, a Hamas official called for a moratorium on the displaying of Swastikas, claiming it was bad for Hamas’ international image.
“Such acts, even if done solely, inflict horrific outcomes on our just cause,” Dr. Basem Naim, a member of the Hamas International Relations Office, said in an official statement. “Indeed, they are exploited by the Israeli occupation to distort our struggle for freedom and independence.”
Incendiary kites and balloons were launched into Israel carrying the Nazi symbol as well.

The swastika used by the Nazis is the old Teutonic “Hammer of Thor” symbol, not the Hindu swastika.
CRUSADER says
The symbol experienced a resurgence in the late 19th century, following extensive archeological work such as that of the famous archeologist Heinrich Schliemann. Schliemann discovered the hooked cross on the site of ancient Troy. He connected it with similar shapes found on pottery in Germany and speculated that it was a “significant religious symbol of our remote ancestors.”
In the beginning of the 20th century the swastika was widely used in Europe. It had numerous meanings, the most common being a symbol of good luck and auspiciousness. However, the work of Schliemann soon was taken up by völkisch movements, for whom the swastika was a symbol of “Aryan identity” and German nationalist pride
This conjecture of Aryan cultural descent of the German people is likely one of the main reasons why the Nazi party formally adopted the swastika as its symbol in 1920.
The Nazi party, however, was not the only party to use the swastika in Germany. After World War I, a number of far-right nationalist movements adopted the swastika. As a symbol, it became associated with the idea of a racially “pure” state. By the time the Nazis gained control of Germany, the connotations of the swastika had forever changed.
In Mein Kampf, Adolf Hitler wrote: “I myself, meanwhile, after innumerable attempts, had laid down a final form; a flag with a red background, a white disk, and a black swastika in the middle. After long trials I also found a definite proportion between the size of the flag and the size of the white disk, as well as the shape and thickness of the swastika.”
The swastika would become the most recognizable icon of Nazi propaganda, appearing on the flag referred to by Hitler in Mein Kampf as well as on election posters, arm bands, medallions, and badges for military and other organizations. A potent symbol intended to elicit pride among Aryans, the swastika also struck terror into Jews and others deemed enemies of Nazi Germany.
Despite its origins, the swastika has become so widely associated with Nazi Germany that contemporary uses frequently incite controversy.

Spot on, CRUSADER. The swastika turns up all over the world–including in Native American pictographs and Byzantine church mosaics. But certainly for most of those using it now–like these Jihadists–the reference is the Nazis.
CRUSADER says
Hilda Ellis Davidson theorized that the swastika symbol was associated with Thor, possibly representing his Mjolnir – symbolic of thunder – and possibly being connected to the Bronze Age sun cross. Davidson cites “many examples” of the swastika symbol from Anglo-Saxon graves of the pagan period, with particular prominence on cremation urns from the cemeteries of East Anglia. Some of the swastikas on the items, on display at the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, are depicted with such care and art that, according to Davidson, it must have possessed special significance as a funerary symbol. The runic inscription on the 8th-century Sæbø sword has been taken as evidence of the swastika as a symbol of Thor in Norse paganism.

Reinventing the Swastika to Represent Aryans in Modernity
Academics and scientists linked the Aryans and Germans using racist pseudoscience. These men chose the swastika as a symbol to represent the modern Aryan race. Having an unclear, but mainly positive history, the swastika could be reconstructed to serve the needs of those promoting the Aryan race myth. This process consisted of removing the swastika’s history and context and Germanizing it.
The swastika did not become a symbol of the Aryan race immediately. As late as 1907, the swastika was still seen as an oriental and mystical symbol, sometimes related to the ancient Aryans, but certainly not linked the way it became in the 1920s. Even though the transformation was not instant, the swastika’s association with the Aryan race myth had begun….

Accordingly, root of the Greek/Hebrew word means “invaders of the land”.
Philistines were from Crete.
Well, we know things about Cretans and cretins:
The declaration “all Cretans are liars” is found in Titus 1:12. Crete is an island in the Mediterranean where Paul had preached and where many were converted to Christianity. In his letter to Titus, the apostle Paul told him that the reason he left him in Crete was to “straighten out what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town” (Titus 1:5). New churches were being formed, and the appointment of godly leaders to oversee them was a priority for Paul.
Beginning in Titus 1:6, Paul details for Titus the qualifications for elders, one of which is the ability to “encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it” (verse 9). He goes on to say that in Crete there were many rebellious people and deceivers who must be silenced as they were teaching falsehood for financial gain (verses 10–11). At that point, Paul quotes a famous Cretan who wrote, “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons” (verse 12). That writer was Epimenides of Gnossus, a seventh-century BC poet, prophet, and native Cretan who characterized his own people as liars.

We measure time by the birth of Christ, a birth that changed the world for the better. Your use of CE to refer to exactly the same time period is ignorant and ahistoric.

CE is offensive. It denies the influence of Christ.

Terry,
the term CE is used worldwide as a measure of time.
Use of the Christ-related term is for Christians only.

Your proselytisation and attempt to delegitimise nonbelievers is what is offensive.

I, and others, use CE, a legitimate historical and archaeological term. Your personal belief system does not interest me.
If you don’t like it, too bad.

Actually, carpediadem, historians and archeologists worldwide did indeed use “A.D.” and “B.C.” until *very* recently. Your idea that this was only used by Christians is mistaken–although this did of course originate in the West.
“CE” and “BCE” have been around for a while, but were not standardized in British schools until 2002, in American schools until about 2006, in Australian schools until 2011, and in Canadian schools until 2013.
So over all this is quite a recent phenomenon.

The answer is simple:

U.S. intelligence cables leaked in 2010.
Jordan is essentially already the Palestinian Arab state.
