“You do not discriminate between Arabs, Jews, and Druze”?
Is Sayyaf Sharif Daoud aware that he just exploded the “Palestinian” oppression myth? Will Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez denounce him as a “Zionist” and a “right-wing Islamophobe”?
“Captured Israeli Arab ISIS Fighter Sayyaf Sharif Daoud Asks Netanyahu to Let Him Return to Israel, Says ISIS Is Stronger than It Was,” MEMRI, July 31, 2019:
Captured Israeli-Arab ISIS fighter Sayyaf Sharif Daoud said in a July 31, 2019 interview on Al-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) that only God knows if ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was “created” by the Mossad, and he said that Al-Baghdadi was known for listening to those around him rather than having his own opinions. He also said that Al-Baghdadi enjoyed the luxuries of the material world, saying: “I saw how fat he was [in a video] while the people who left Baghuz weighed 50-60 kilograms. They would eat grass.” Daoud said that although the Islamic State is gone, ISIS’ cells still exist, and he said that ISIS is perhaps stronger today than it was in the past when there was a central command. Daoud then spoke to the camera in Hebrew, addressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a request to allow him to return to Israel. Daoud said: “I am an Israeli citizen… You do not discriminate between Arabs, Jews, and Druze… I am having a very, very tough time in this prison… I will return as a better [person].” For a related interview with Sayyaf Sharif Daoud, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 7354.

I say let him return, but only if Israel has the death penalty for any citizen who joined ISIS.

fancy that Israel treats people right is this coming from a Muslim. Palestine suppresses there people just like the Democrats

The theme of crime and redemption is as old as history; equally, the theme of crime and punishment and crime and consequence.
It always seems tragic to see an unpunished criminal who has turned his life around finally get captured. It seems like a good person is being punished for crimes he no longer would commit.
And yet, what are the consequences of waving away past offenses? It would mean that others would feel free to join criminal enterprises, knowing that if they had a change of heart, there was a relatively easy path away. And, the harm from these people in their criminal phase might not be recoverable.
So, if a person throws away his birthright and joins an enemy to his country in physical conflict, he should generally not be readmitted, however sincere his regrets. Hopefully, his case is publicized and may make budding young jihadis think twice before joining the glorious caliphate.

What leads you to believe that this Jihadist has turned his life around? If the Islam State wee still around, he would not be trying to return to Israel.

Redemption occurs AFTER repenting….

Great question from ROBERT SPENCER: “Is Sayyaf Sharif Daoud aware that he just exploded the “Palestinian” oppression myth?”
No doubt, Sayyaf Sharif Daoud has had a change of heart like the Prodigal Son who stopped thinking that his father was unjust to him, when the Prodigal saw how harsh other people were. Same scenario here.
The Prodigal Son eventually came to his senses in a far country and said, ‘ ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more food than they can eat, and here I am starving to death!
Apparently, Sayyaf Sharif Daoud is ‘hungry’ for human rights, equality, rule of law and fairness … none of which are available in Islamic countries.
Sayyaf Sharif Daoud has admitted that Israel is the only pluralistic democracy in the Middle East.
HAMAS, YOU HAVE BEEN BUSTED.

What are you basing this on? ISIS Jihadists have been urged to return to their home countries and wage violent Jihad there.

I’m sorry–this is terribly naive to assume this. Where has he said that he rejects Jihad?

The Prodigal Son was a young man who asked his father for his inheritance and then left home for “a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.”
The Prodigal wasn’t the son who felt matters from the father were unjust, as the Prodigal just wanted to go see and spend on the world, but the elder brother felt that way (sense of injustice) due to the wasteful ways of the Prodigal and how this behavior seemed to be dismissed by the doting father…

Correction: a treasonous Israeli citizen…
CRUSADER says
TREASON!
There is the operative word!
So apt!
James says
Well, if he fought for ISIS, he must love Islam and that implies hating Jews, it would seem, and perhaps he ought to go to some Muslim country to settle. That would be safer for Israel, and would also be a deterrent against people thinking they can just betray their civilization and if it does not work, come back and live in comfort.
roberta says
Your are right, crybaby wants to go home. Must mean that the county of apes and pigs is better than islamic countries. He is with the best of people right now, and crying for Israel. Whats up with that?
roberta says
Something about actions and consequences he did not learn.
My guess is, he means it. But after being well fed and rested, back to the old jihad ways.
Got a tom cat here on the farm that is no different. Out fighting and chasing girly cats for
days on end. Comes home skinny, torn up, and loving me like never before. Rinse/repeat.
He is a good mouser, so unlike the above jihadi, he has a use.
Kepha says
Trouble with your comparison is that fighting, chasing females, hunting, and kissing up to the bipedal surrogate mama pretty much sums up the life of a tom cat. There’s something more to the life of a human being.
CRUSADER says
Hmmmm
“fighting, chasing females, hunting, and kissing up ….”
No! That sounds like a jihadi !!
James Lincoln says
Let me see if I have the story straight:
An Arab citizen of Israel leaves the country to join ISIS.
He is captured and imprisoned.
He now pleads to return to Israel.
His expectation is that Israel will let him return.
To me, this is simple. Anyone who leaves their home country to join the Islamic State should immediately –
and permanently – lose citizenship to their former home country.
He is a traitor to Israel and his current “tough time” in prison is solely his own fault.
Case closed.
CRUSADER says
That’s not very EMPATHETIC of you, James Lincoln! ?

ISIS jihadi from Israel begs to return, says Israel does “not discriminate between Arabs, Jews, and Druze”
…………………………….
This Jihadiist is just trying to guilt-trip Israel into letting him back in. Not accepting an ISIS terrorist is not “bigotry”.

Veritas!

LOL!!! Don’t forget “white supremacist.”
Az gal says
This guy is totally lying. Look where he says the “others” (Muzzrats) say, “How come you are the only Israeli here, when your county is so big & terrifying?” Muslums would NOT say that. LYING. He wants to just get out of jail & continue his jihad.
CRUSADER says
Hmmmmmm……
Does mortimer appear hypocritical in this sentiment shown from a different post ?
Or is the matter simply different when the case is about an immigrant?

I think the court should have stipulated that release depended on him staying far from his targets. If this fellow had two passports, most Canadians would agree he should lose his Canadian citizenship because he failed to deserve the trust previously placed in him.
There must be a consequence when immigrants commit acts against the state.
