It is good to see this in USA Today, which up to now could be counted on to parrot faithfully the establishment media line on everything. But the SPLC’s stranglehold on the establishment media is weakening: first the Washington Post, and now this.
“It has always been easier to smear people rather than wrestle with their ideas. It’s a bully who calls names and spreads lies rather than thoroughly reading a brief’s legal arguments or challenging the rationale underlying a policy proposal. The SPLC has chosen to take the easy path — to intimidate and mislead for raw political power and financial benefit.”
Welcome to my world. For a couple of decades now I’ve been smeared and defamed by the SPLC, Hamas-linked CAIR, and their allies, without anyone ever bothering to show that what I said was actually false, and with numerous false claims about what I actually meant by what I said. But as this article shows, this was never about me: it is how Leftists and Islamic supremacists operate in general against those whom they hate and fear.
“For years, former employees revealed, local journalists reported and commentators have lamented: The Southern Poverty Law Center is not what it claims to be. Not a pure-hearted, clear-headed legal advocate for the vulnerable, but rather an obscenely wealthy marketing scheme. For years, the left-wing interest group has used its ‘hate group’ list to promote the fiction that violent neo-Nazis and Christian nonprofits peacefully promoting orthodox beliefs about marriage and sex are indistinguishable. Sometimes, it has apologized to public figures it has smeared, and it recently paid out millions to settle a threatened defamation lawsuit.”
Indeed. Let’s hope there will be many more such suits.
“The Southern Poverty Law Center is a hate-based scam that nearly caused me to be murdered,” by Jessica Prol Smith, USA Today, August 17, 2019:
I’ll never forget the moment I learned we were on lockdown. It was Aug.15, 2012. My frustration mingled with fear. Trapped on the sixth floor, we knew someone had been shot. We knew we couldn’t leave yet. We knew little else.
While I was missing lunch, a crime scene played out in the office lobby below me. My coworker and friend Leo wasn’t armed, but he had played the quick-thinking and inadvertent hero, disarming a young man on a mission to kill me and as many of my colleagues as possible. The gunman had packed his backpack with ammo and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches — later admitting that he had planned to smear them on our lifeless faces as a political statement. Leo took a bullet in the arm but managed to hold the attacker until law enforcement arrived.
I wrote and edited for the Family Research Council, a public advocacy organization that promoted the principles I have cared about since childhood: protecting the family, promoting the dignity of every human life and advocating for religious liberty. It reads like a tagline, but it’s also just what I believed and the way I chose to match my career with my convictions.
I never expected that everyone would celebrate or share my beliefs. But I did expect to be able to discuss and debate these differences without becoming a political target in an act of terrorism, the first conviction under Washington, D.C.’s 2002 Anti-Terrorism Act.
The Southern Poverty Law Center labeled us a ‘hate group’
It was the type of violent incident that one could expect a group that purportedly monitors “hate,” like the Southern Poverty Law Center, to notice, research and decry. In fact, we were on the center’s radar but for all the wrong reasons. The assailant acknowledged later in FBI testimony that he had selected our office precisely because the SPLC had labeled my employer a “hate group.”
It has always been easier to smear people rather than wrestle with their ideas. It’s a bully who calls names and spreads lies rather than thoroughly reading a brief’s legal arguments or challenging the rationale underlying a policy proposal. The SPLC has chosen to take the easy path — to intimidate and mislead for raw political power and financial benefit.

We’re from Abdoolabad, the capital of Abdoolistan.
We want to make money from the kuffar..I mean..I mean..we are victims of islamophobia and we need to sue somebody, anybody, just as long as they are infidels.
Lawyer:Maybe you’ll need the SPLC.Why me?Is it a case of “Better call Saul”?
The Abdools::More like “Better NOT call Saul” haha..he sounds like an Israeli Zionist Jew.
Lawyer: hmm…we’ll need some evidence of “islamophobia”:was your “prophet” insulted or something?
The Abdools:No.Abdoolia was sneered at by a white man wearing a MAGA hat.
Lawyer:THAT’S IT?You’ll definitely need the SPLC
The Abdools:say I trust there are no Jewish lawyers at the SPLC:allah forbids me from dealing with THOSE people.

This is No Shock, Liberal Jewish Americans usually stand for Muslim & Left-Wing People & Causes.

CRUSADER, I haven’t got my hands on Glazov’s book but it’s well established by now that liberals often “feeeeel” even for their own rapists provided that the rapist is a foreigner – preferably a Muslim (“best of people” you see). There have been plenty of cases in countries such as Germany, Sweden, Norway, etc of leftists, such as volunteers at “refugee” centers and others, getting raped by a “refugee” and then lying in their report in order to conceal the (muslim) identity of their rapist, and even of some who go on to express guilt for their rapist having to be deported on account of raping them!

The point is they are liberal lawyers, the fact that they are Jewish is irrelevant
Jews are just as split left and right as any other group, ethnicity/religion is irrelevant.
What might be true is a large proportion of lawyers are Jewish, I know, I’m the father of one. Lawyers also are split politically, and many, quite educated ones sit on the fence.
And you are wrong, last time i looked at a list of the lawyers at SPLC, Jews were somewhere near 1/4 to a 3rd of staff, so for a law firm, they might be under represented. What was shocking, they were all white, I suspect the SPLC is racist.

A SLANDER CLUB. SPLC’s job is to criticize, to slander and condemn all tried-and-true American traditions and to promote untried Utopian dreams.
They are creating such an atmosphere of hatred towards American tradtionalists, that brainwashed Leftards feel no shame in threatening and physically attacking traditional Americans without provocation. The Trotskyist Antifa hoodlums are the Leftist equivalent of Hitler’s brown-shirted Sturmabteilung who smashed heads and property of opponents of Hitler without prosecution.
No one should be slandered and libelled but that is the main purpose of SPLC. It’s a filthy philosophy coming out of the Frankfurt school of Marxism. They seek to change America through slander.
The result of SPLC’s vicious slanders will be increased levels of Leftist vigilante violence against traditional Americans of all colors and creeds.

Southern Poverty Law Center Is a Hate Group by Josh Goldstein
The SPLC has lost its way … The list of hate groups has kept getting longer and longer while our nation has become more tolerant of those who are different. In March 2013, the publication Foreign Policy ran an expose on the methodology of SPLC’s listing of hate groups, noting that SPLC counted many groups several times.
The overall impression from SPLC’s list is designed to make Americans believe that America is a nation filled with racism, sexism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and every other form of hatred that the conservative cause specifically disavows.
SPLC’s senior leadership is shameful. It uses its past legacy of fighting against racism to add legitimacy to their evolving agenda of hatred towards the large number of Americans who hold conservative and religious values.
In 2010, SPLC added the conservative Family Research Council to its list of hate groups.
In early 2015, SPLC added Dr. Ben Carson to its list of hate groups.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, an atheist, feminist, and former Muslim who speaks out against female genital mutilation, was added to the SPLC hate list in recent years. Ali has many death threats on her life by Islamic radicals but SPLC labels her, and not those who have made the threats, on the hate watch list.

The SPLC has Oathkeepers listed as a radical anti-government hate group. I have met several members the past few years and their basic concern seems to be adherence to the Constitution. Most of them had been combat veterans or law enforcement officers. They support shelters for homeless veterans, and clean up trash from a section of a road here in town. I have never known any of them to be racist or hate filled.

Robert, indirectly the SPLC helped nearly get you killed — or at least badly injured — as well, when you were poisoned by a leftist in Iceland who may well have been familiar with, and influenced by, their corrupt material. If more people are finally waking up to the disgraceful scam represented by that organization it is way past time.
