A blow against propaganda and fiction. As I show in my forthcoming book The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process, the idea that there is a distinct Palestinian nationality, and was ever a Palestinian state, is a falsehood designed by the KGB and Yasir Arafat in the 1960s in order to gain leverage against Israel and remove the perception that Israel was a tiny state facing massive and implacable foes — instead, the “Palestinians” were the tiny people facing the massive Israeli war machine. The claim that Israel occupies any “Palestinian territory” is also false; all the territory of the Jewish state, and more, was given for Jewish settlement in the Mandate for Palestine. It was not taken from any other state, and doesn’t belong to anyone else. This propaganda has been remarkably successful, but that doesn’t make it true.
“US State Department removes all mention of Palestinian Authority,” Arutz Sheva, August 25, 2019 (thanks to the Geller Report):
The US State Department website has deleted the Palestinian Authority from the list of countries and areas on its website.
Until recently, ‘Palestinians’ appeared on the site under the name ‘Palestinian Authority’ and before that the ‘Palestinian Territories’.
Over the past year there has been a significant devaluation of the Palestinian status on the US side, with the State Department ordering to remove any reference that included the word ‘occupied territories’ in reference to the Palestinian Arabs.
Now the very existence of a Palestinian Authority is not present on the official website representing the US State Department.

There is no reason to pretend that reality is something other than what it is. For instance, the US considers the Chinese occupation of Tibet illegitimate, but does it then go on to pretend that there is actually an independent Tibet government to deal w/ if one wishes to travel to Tibet? Did they do it w/ the Baltic republics as well during the Cold War?

………………
Great news–it’s about time. Was this the President’s doing, or just a saner climate in general under Trump?

I agree with Robert’s points, but not even listing the Palestinian Authority as an AREA seems a bit head-in-the sand-ish. The PA can be found on maps, therefore it is an area.

All these will become infructuous once we accept the reality that ‘Jordan’ is Palestine.
After all 70% (or 80%) of original British Palestine Mandate was created as Jordan and given to the Arab Chieftain defeated by the ancestors of present day Saudi rulers.
And needless to say, the ‘pales’ in west bank should be sent back there.
