“Those who take every opportunity to give other countries lessons on democracy, law and human rights, who throw their weight around when it comes to their own rights, are playing blind, deaf and dumb when it comes to Muslims.”
How are Muslims being deprived of human rights in the West? Erdogan doesn’t say, because he can’t say, because they aren’t. But he knows that playing the victim card gives him immense traction on the Left in the United States. And American Leftists hate America as much as he does.
“Turkey’s Erdoğan slams West for treatment of Muslims, vows to pursue Gülen,” Ahval News, September 23, 2019:
Leading democratic states have failed to protect the rights of Muslims, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told an event organised by a U.S.-Turkish advocacy organisation in New York.
Speaking at the Turkish American National Steering Committee event on Sunday, Erdoğan also vowed to continue pursuing enemies of his government around the world and seeking their extradition to Turkey.
The Turkish president is in New York to participate in the UN General Assembly this week, and is scheduled to address the assembly with a speech on Tuesday.
“Those who take every opportunity to give other countries lessons on democracy, law and human rights, who throw their weight around when it comes to their own rights, are playing blind, deaf and dumb when it comes to Muslims,” Turkish independent news site Diken quoted Erdoğan as saying.
The Turkish president said he would continue to advocate for the Palestinian cause, which he said was a red line for Turkey that he said touched the “dignity of 1.7 billion Muslims worldwide”….
“Until all coup plotters are brought to justice, we will not quit going after them,” Erdoğan said, referring to the Gülen religious movement that the AKP blames for the coup attempt.
Erdoğan said Turkey was taking steps to extradite the group’s leader, Islamist preacher Fethullah Gülen, from the United States, where he has lived in self-imposed exile since 1999.
Ankara is also seeking to shut down operations run by organisations linked to Gülen in the United States, Erdoğan said….
Laszlo says
Of course! When your Muslim Weltanschaung is so twisted how could it not?!
Westman says
Yes Erdogan, we remember the “dignity” you displayed on your last visit when your security thugs beat up protesters in DC and sent 9 to the hospital. You are such a fount of holy representation for Islam that CAIR would likely avoid you. Being such a champion of human rights, Stalin, if still alive, would have rolled out the Red carpet for your arrival.
You must imagine yourself of a like mind with Muhammad; more alike than you even imagine. Please, continue to be a spokesman for Islam.

“Leading democratic states have failed to protect the rights of Muslims, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan [recently said]”
What of course he means is that Muslims are getting equality under the law when Muslims should, by the lights of Islam, stand in every instance superior to the non-Muslim. In short, Muslims are prevented from being fully Muslim because they are being denied all that’s due to them by the Pact of Umar.

Yes, Erdogan obviously wants a return to the Pact of Omar (aka the ‘Conditions’ of Omar).

Holier than thou Erdogan laments the demise of the brutal, conquering “Religion of peace” Ottoman Empire that ravaged so much of Southeast Europe, parts of Central Europe, Western Asia, parts of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, North Africa, and the Horn of Africa. They took over 2 million slaves overall with white slave women particularly valued. They wanted the whole world but were stopped only by “Islamophobic” Christian forces. The Turkish invasion of Cyprus in the 70s involved population transfers, ethnic cleansing with the destruction of 300 Christian churches. That’s really what he thinks are Muslim rights.
Infidel says
Given the 16 Great Turkic empires that Turkey celebrates, why stop w/ just the Ottomans? The Ghaznavids were a Turkic empire that wiped Buddhism out of Afghanistan and the Mughals slaughtered 80 million Hindus and Sikhs during their rule in India. The Timurides pulled off a holocaust in a whole bunch of countries – Iran, Georgia, Russia, India. And in Russia, the Tatars did a whole bunch of massacres of Russians including in Moscow, before the Romanovs stamped them out both in Tatarstan and Crimea.
Turkey is the last country that should be taken seriously when it comes to human rights
andra says
I am so sick of the Muslim victimhood. We accepted them into our countries, never denied them to follow their believes (which was the major mistake) and treated them and their religion just like any other.
But that is not enough for Muslims, it seems. To treat them right, you have to rise them above all others and submit yourself to their will. And, sad enough, the Lefties agree to that because it plays into their cards for the destruction of the West.
mortimer says
Muslim is never equal to a Kafir. Erdogan doesn’t want mere equality.
Erdogan is of course referring to ISLAMIC SUPREMACISM, namely the rights of ALLAH TO BE WORSHIPPED and MOHAMMED TO BE ABOVE CRITICISM and the RIGHTS OF MUSLIMS TO HAVE ALL POSITIONS OF AUTHORITY throughout the world. Such an agenda would lead to the collapse of most industries around the world, except for a small number who are given monopolies by the Islamic state in return for piles of baksheesh.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights which is the acknowledged standard of the United Nations is ‘UNIVERSAL’ and applies equally to Muslims, but that of course is not enough, because a Muslim gets superior rights to a dirty Kafir under Sharia law.
andra says
The Muslim countries did not sign the Declaration of Human Rights. They signed the Kairo Declaration. It looks nearly the same but in the preamble it says that the following declarations only referrs to life under Sharia. As Sharia itself does not accept full human Rights for Kuffar, the declaration is very interesting to read.
gravenimage says
Yes–the “Cairo Declaration of Human Rights” is actually the “Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam”. This is all about the “rights” of everyone to submit to Islam.
mortimer says
The CDHR should more accurately be called the ‘Cairo Declaration of *DRASTICALLY REDUCED* Human Rights and Systemic Institutional Discrimination Under Discriminatory, Misogynistic Sharia Law’

I’m surprised JW hasn’t yet reported on that clown dictator’s very recent antisemitic islamic supremacist tirade at the UN General Assembly.
https://worldisraelnews.com/playing-to-the-crowd-erdogan-viciously-attacks-israel-at-un/
He primarilly consetrated attacking Israel (with a special focus on Jerusalem) which among other things he compared it to Nazi Germany (psychologists call this phenomenon “projection”) while also mentioning other islamic causes such as Rohingyas and Cyprus of course (on which he also tried a complete reversal of the truth claiming that Cyprus doesn’t want to share power with the Turks on an equitable basis, when in fact the cypriot constitution made the “turkish cypriots” one of the the most if not the most scandalously privileged ethnic minorities that have ever existed anywhere, certainly granting them far more privileges than any minority in turkey could ever dream).
He of course didn’t miss the opportuniy to warn us about the spread of the “islamophobia” epidemic across the world and even proposed an “International Day” every year dedicated to the fight against the “islamophobes”.
Strangely however I think he forgot to say anything about Kashmir(which may have disappointed his Paki allies) or the Uighur situation in China.
He also focused on Syria and the fight against the terrorist(read Kurdish) PKK and PYD, and praised Iran and Russia for their cooperation with Turkey.
Here’s the full speech (better not watch if you happen to be allergic to large amounts of lies and hypocrisy)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bve1yt0SEb4
Infidel says
Actually, Erdogan did reach out to Pakistan. Not sure whether he supported them on Kashmir.
One thing that Ergogan has done that’s gone unnoticed, even here: while resurrecting Turkey’s Ottoman heritage, he’s also invoked their racial heritage across Asia. Like the ‘16 Great Turkic Empires‘ which his guards donned when he welcomed Mahmoud Abbas in 2015.
While 7 of those empires (like the Huns or Khazars) ended w/o ever becoming Islamic, since they ended before that time, the other 9 that were listed sometimes started as non-Islamic empires and became Islamic, while some were born Islamic. They were:
Uyghur Khaganate
Kara-Khanids
Ghaznavids
Great Seljuq Empire
Khwarazmids
Golden Horde
Timuride Empire
Mughal Empire
Ottoman Empire
Of the above, only the Seljuq and Ottoman Empires were based in Turkey. The Uyghurs were based in Xinxiang, Kara-khanids in the area around the Aral Sea, Ghaznavids in Afghanistan, Khwarazmids in Turkmenistan, Golden Horde in Russian Tatarstan, Timurides in Turkistan and Mughals in the subcontinent.
In 2009, Turkey co-founded the ‘Turkic Council‘ w/ some of the countries that were once part of these empires: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Previously, Uzbekistan, under Karimov, had a hostile relationship w/ Turkey since Erdogan was a supporter of Islamization, whereas Karimov, like Kemal Ataturk, did everything in his power to prevent Uzbekistan from Islamizing. However, after his death, his successor signed up to this, and Uzbekistan is now a member.
While all this may seem trivial, what it does is provide Turkey the basis of claiming the leadership of the Muslim world, since they know that they won’t be accepted as such by the Arabs or the Iranians. First, they’ve used their racial commonality w/ Central Asia in putting together this club. Given that the Turks were the greatest Islamizing force in the world – even greater than the Arabs – check out the Ghaznavids, Mughals, Timurides and Ottomans above – they could potentially grow that club from the underpopulated countries like Kazakhstan, and include countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan (which today is the sole claimant to Mughal heritage, since India has abandoned that for Hindutva). Once they get Pakistan, then population wise, it would be a huge coup for them, getting a country of 200 million+ in their ranks.
Combine that w/ Turkey’s support to Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Hamas, and they’re really positioning themselves as the leader of Sunni Jihadists, since the Saudis don’t wanna antagonize the US and the Iranians wouldn’t be accepted in that role since they’re Shias. Turkey was also one of the countries – the other being Yemen – to condemn the US for moving the Israel embassy to Jerusalem. They’re looking at doing to the West what the Ottomans did back in the day, but w/ as many Muslim allies behind them.
SAFI says
Yes Turkey is certainly backing Pakistan and agitating over Kasmir. I would in fact say that “freedom” for Kashmir is one of Erdogan/Turkey’s two central islamist causes together with “freedom” for “Kudus” (Jerusalem). Those 2 issues are used by Erdogan to promote himself and his country as the leader of Sunni Islam. What I meant is that he didn’t mention Kashmir in this speech(at least as far I can remember, cause I can’t go through the torture of re-watching this clown rave about his fake islamist “grievances” for 40 minutes straight a second time).
I’m also well aware of the “16 great turkish empires” ideology with the “Erdogan Khanate” aspiring to be the 17th one (though this ideology actually long predates Erdogan and his A.K.Party) as well as Erdogan’s great fondness for cosplay and dressing his goons as “ancient turkish warrios” or even dressing up himself (too bad he didn’t give his speech at the UN dressed up like this)https://www.independentturkish.com/sites/default/files/styles/1368×911/public/article/main_image/2019/08/26/157226-1968834285.jpg

(That’s why they say that you can take the nomad out the steppe/desert but you can’t ever take the steppe out of the nomad)
Anyway everything this tent-dwelling clown said both at the UN and at this “Turkish American National Steering Committee” event smacks of hypocrisy. Everything he accused Israel and others of could be better used to describe his own regime’s behavior.
Infidel says
Actually, searching the news archives of the last week, Turkey did raise the issue of Kashmir in the UN General Assembly. Given how isolated Pakistan is these days, they’d probably welcome becoming a satellite of Ankara
SAFI says
Infidel, I watched it again and you’re right he did raise Kashmir in his speech. He also accused blamed Armenia for the ongoing disputes with Azerbaijan and also implied he wants to have nukes and a seat at the security counsil.
SAFI says
Oh and I’m well aware of Turkey’s efforts to reach out to all the turkic “-stans” of Central Asia (including some which are located inside Russia and “East Turkestan” which is basically western China) as well as the “racial” dimension of Turkey’s foreign policy. Racism and Islamism go hand in hand in Turkey that’s why Erdogan has for years ruled his Khanate through an electoral alliance between his own “islamist” AK Parti and the Racist/Ultranationalist MHP/ “Grey Wolves” Party (which is also active in many western european countries through the turkish diaspora and often involved in organized crime there)
Here’s Erdogan offering his rabid islamo-fascist crowd both the islamist/MB “rabia” salute and the turkish racist “grey wolf” salute (too bad he’s only got two hands so he can’t silmutaneously give also the Hitler-salute)
https://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/2bfb159b-2ab1-426a-9f91-26143f43bd48
Infidel says
The ones that are located in Russia, such as the Sakha republic and the Sibir Khanate, were either never Islamic (such as Sakha Republic/Yakutsk) or were de-Islamized by the Romanovs (the Sibir Khanate). So Turkey reaching out to them may not do much, particularly if they cherish their Shamanist or Buddhist heritage.
Ideally, Turkey would like to influence more than just the Turkic countries. Already, they support the Muslim Brotherhood, and have more of a historical claim to the leadership of Islam than Qatar. I would bet that Pakistan would come under their umbrella, given how uninterested the Gulf states are, unless China takes control of them first.
Also, Turkey initially was a supporter of Uighur rights, and in fact, the only Muslim country to have that stance. Until Beijing got their number and had them change.

it is a paradox for Muslims to claim they are losing their civil rights. They want sharia so that other groups will have less rights than Muslims, and Muslims will also have less rights than the West offers.

Not really a paradox–Muslims are Islamic supremacists, so whatever furthers the cause of Islam is what they want.

I don’t care what these people do or say. Islam is bitterness and blind rage dating back to Esau and Jacob. Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of soup, and now he wants to blame and murder the world. His blind rage tethers him to eternal fire, and the West would be wise to send him there, where the maggot lives forever and the fire is never quenched. Only a blind fool could refer to Islam as a “religion.”

He’s the dumbass! All psychology students should have been watching Pres. Erdogan over the past few years to see how megalomania can develop in a person & the following of what can be described as a Personality Death Cult. Ol’ Winston Churchill was right way back in 1898-9, when he wrote in his book, “The River War”, that,”… no other retrograde force exists in the world than Islam.” On youtube there are several clips of this section where he describes Islam. A few years ago an Englishman quoted this excerpt & was “taken away” by Met. Police Officers. If one checks the UN tables on Human/Civil Rights, the WORST offenders for breaching them, or denying them are the Muslim countries. The West’s “Leaders” haven’t got the B*lls to say what needs to be said. The good thing in our democracies is that they can be replaced.

@Infidel:Gansu
The Uyghur Khanate that existed at the same time as the Tang Empire of China was based in what’s now Mongolia, not Xinjiang. It was not Muslim, and its ethnic heirs are a tiny group on the border between Qinghai and Gansu who are called Sarig Yugur, or Yellow Uighur, and are traditionally Lama Buddhist rather than Muslim.
The people of Sharki Turkistan are called “Uighur” because the Great Father of the Peoples named Joseph Stalin decided that those speakers of Karluk Turkic form south of the Tian Shan were heirs of the ancient Uighurs–and without the slightest shred of historical evidence. However, since for the Chinese Communists Si Da Lin Bo Bo (斯大林伯伯–Senior Paternal Uncle Stalin) was infallible even when he wasn’t speaking ex cathedra, the people who traditionally called themselves either “Turki” or after whichever oasis town their ancestors haled had to be Uighurs. It would probably make more sense had the people of Eastern Turkistan been renamed “Chagatai” or something like that; Taranchai (“farmer”) for those who moved north of the Tian Shan after the Qing massacred the Dzhungar might also have worked. But, no, Uncle Stalin said they’re Uighurs, and Stalin couldn’t be wrong.
As for Erdogan, his peculiar mix of late 19th century Western nationalism and radical Islamicism renders him a very dangerous man, and no ally of the West.
