Ali Selim apologized and condemned female genital mutilation, and claimed (where have we heard this before?) that “his comments had been misrepresented.” But what if Ali Selim had said on RTÉ that the root causes of Islamic terrorism were in the Qur’an and Hadith, and that Islam teaches warfare against and subjugation of unbelievers? Even if he had subsequently apologized and claimed his statements had been misrepresented, would he have been awarded €7,500 by the Labour Court? Of course not. But there is no Sharia-justified atrocity to which today’s political elites will refuse to ignore.
“Islamic spokesman awarded €7,500 by Labour Court after unfair dismissal,” by Seán McCárthaigh, Irish Times, September 17, 2019 (thanks to Henry):
A leading figure in Ireland’s Muslim community has been awarded €7,500 by the Labour Court which ruled he was unfairly dismissed by Trinity College Dublin from his role as a part-time lecturer in Arabic.
Ali Selim, who is also spokesman for the Islamic Cultural Centre in Clonskeagh, had appealed the level of compensation awarded by the Workplace Relations Commission in an earlier unfair dismissal action.
Dr Selim had sought reinstatement to his formal role or alternatively the maximum award of two years’ salary, which would amount to in excess of €18,000.
The commission had awarded him €4,000 for his unfair dismissal. It had also ordered TCD to pay €1,644 for non-payment of notice and €500 for not receiving his written terms of employment.
At a Labour Court hearing last month, Dr Selim claimed he had been fired from his teaching post following comments he made during an appearance on RTÉ in February 2018.
The academic, who was represented by the Irish Federation of University Teachers, claimed the university had contrived to make his position redundant after TCD Students’ Union had called for his dismissal.
Prime Time
During an interview on an edition of Prime Time, Dr Selim claimed female circumcision was acceptable in some cases.
The lecturer, who had worked in Trinity since 2010, subsequently apologised for his remarks and said he condemned female genital mutilation, which is illegal in Ireland, in the strongest terms. He also claimed his comments had been misrepresented.
TCD strenuously denied that Dr Selim’s dismissal was linked to his Prime Time appearance.
It claimed he had been made redundant as a result of a decision taken in January 2018 to create a new full-time post of assistant professor in Middle Eastern History, for which Dr Selim had applied but was unsuccessful….

Sleazy liar. They always claim that their words are misunderstood, taken out of context, “misrepresented.”..in other words, they lie to try and protect themselves from what they said that others found unacceptable.
Why not hire someone who speaks the ugly language but is not a moslim? Surely there are such ones?
And how many professors have been fired because they said something in public, on social media, etc. that was out of agreement with their places of employment? This is common and the fired person is not awarded a whole lot of money as a result.
moslims know all of the ways to collect funds for which they have not worked. And his advocating of the mutilation and sexual assault of little girls…is how he really feels. Demonic.

Isn’t “female circumcision” the same as FGM? Isn’t that like saying “the death penalty is acceptable in some cases, also, I condemn the death penalty”?

‘Sometimes’ I lie and ‘sometimes’ I tell the truth.
A Muslim may deceive a non-Muslim, his wives or another Muslim. Allah is also a deceiver according to Koran 3:54 – ‘Allah is the best of deceivers.’
– the Islamic scholar Imam Ja’far wrote: “al-Taqiyya is my religion, and the religion of my ancestors… He who doesn’t practice al-Taqiyya, doesn’t practice his religion.”
-Sharia law authorizes taqiyya: “And taqiyyah is compulsory. It is not permissible to eliminate it until the ‘Qa’im’(hidden Imam) emerges. Whoever abandons it before his emergence has left the religion of Allah and has opposed Allah
-“takiyya permeates almost all the activities and dealings of Muslims with non-Muslim societies…” –Sam Solomon (former sheikh)

Ahhhh…. so in order to SCORE €7,500 from the Labour Court, Ali Selim had to DENOUNCE MOHAMMED who clearly and without obfuscation ENDORSED FGM
Abu Hurayrah said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “The fitrah is five things – or five things are part of the fitrah – circumcision, shaving the pubes, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails and plucking the armpit hairs.” – Bukhari 5891; Muslim 527
Abu al- Malih ibn `Usama’s father relates that the Prophet said: “Circumcision is a law for men and a preservation of honour for women.” – Ahmad Ibn Hanbal 5:75; Abu Dawud, Adab 167.
Dr Selim must also DENOUNCE SHARIA LAW in the matter of FGM :
Circumcision is not an inherited custom as some people claim, rather it is prescribed in Islam and the scholars are unanimously agreed that it is prescribed. Not a single Muslim scholar – as far as we know – has said that circumcision is not prescribed.

NICE TRY, ALI … you just dumped on Islamic standard practice … guess that makes you a DEVIANT FROM STANDARD ISLAM.
Nice going. Is you body twisted in a pretzel shape, Ali? Ha, ha.

Obviously, it seems that trimming one’s beard in manner so as at least appear to be a sane and civilized human being isn’t part of the ‘fitrah’ ?

Cutting out the clitoris (bazr) is obligatory … *not* an option or *opinion*
e4.3 “Circumcision is obligatory (for every male and female) by cutting off the piece of skin on the glans of the penis of the male, but circumcision of the female is by cutting out the clitoris.”
(this procedure is called Hufaad)
Source: Reliance of the Traveller: A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law (compiled by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri)
QUESTIONS A GOVERNMENT ATTORNEY SHOULD HAVE ASKED :
-Is this passage (e4.3) found in the ‘Reliance of the Traveller’ (a manual of Sharia law) and do you agree that the manual the authority on Islamic practices?
-Is “HUFAAD” an approved Islamic practice ???
-Is this ‘out of context’? In what way? Is the Sharia manual WRONG about FGM?
-Is Al Azhar University WRONG to endorse this manual as authentic and authoritative?
-Why do you disagree with e4.3 ???

Selim deserved to receive nothing. There is no reason to disbelieve the university: it wanted a full-rime assistant professor of Middle East history; it hd done away with Selim’s position. Such things happen all the time. Selim knew that his position was being closed down, and he knew why. He had applied for the new job, and was not chosen. At that point he decided to see just how much money he could squeeze out of the university by claiming, without the slightest evidence, that he had lost his job because of his remarks on female genital mutilation. I do not understand why he was awarded anything at all. Madness.
I hope that the person chosen to teach Middle East history is someone who will convey the truth about Islam and the history of Jihad.. That means, of course, someone who is not a Muslim.

Ireland: Court awards $8,265 to Muslim prof who says he was fired for defending female genital mutilation
……………….
*Sickening*. Why should anyone be rewarded for advocating mutilating children?
That this thug was backed by the Irish Federation of University Teachers is deeply disturbing.

How acceptable is it to have an opinion that is pro-assault on children?
Change it to have an opinion that is pro-assault on adults.
The difference is that the children cannot defend themselves. Are they acceptable prey?

“But there is no Sharia-justified atrocity to which today’s political elites will refuse to ignore.”
Huh? What does this sentence even mean? Can someone please translate it into English? One problem is the preposition “to”. I know what it means to ignore something (= to act as if it doesn’t exist), but what does it mean to ignore *to* something? Another problem is the triple-reverse structure of the meaning: the sentence contains three “not” words: “no”, “refuse”, and “ignore”. By simply ignoring the preposition “to”, the meaning I get is “refuse to ignore” = “pay attention to”, so the sentence becomes “there is no Sharia-justified atrocity which today’s political elites will pay attention to”, which is equivalent to saying “today’s political elites will ignore every Sharia-justified atrocity”. That makes sense, but I had to spend several minutes figuring it out. Why the convoluted wording? Is the writer trying to make some meta-point? Or is that just the way some people’s minds work, like making a triple-bank shot in billiards?

Supporting genital mutilation of females deserves more than just being fired. I reckon any bloke that supports or promotes FGM (or so-called ‘female circumcision) should be tied, spreadeagled, by wrists and ankles, to a wall in town with specially anchored eyelets, and let every woman in town come by and kick his nuts till his nose bleeds.
But it’s not just girls, this is something about ‘relgion’ in general which I really do, and have for a long time now, taken a great exception and detestation to – circumcision. I don’t care whether whether it is girls or boys, LEAVE LITTLE KIDDiES GENITALS THE FUCK ALONE! Like, just what the fuck is it with a number of cultures that has them so obsessed with mulitating kiddies’ genitals? Even with the Aboriginals here in Australia, for tens of thousands of years now, the ‘custom’ (throughout ALL tribes, nation-wide) is to remove a boy’s foreskin usually before they are more than a week old. The practice of mutilating little kiddies genitals should be banned and criminalised everywhere, no matter what gender the kiddie is, just keep the old bearded weirdo zealots, and their sharp knives and things, right away from them. If somebody reaches the age of 16 or 18, and then decide for themselves that it sounds like a bloody great idea to go and have the sensitive parts of their genitalia mutilated, sliced and diced, and nipped and tucked, then fair enough, that’s THEIR decision.
