“The Moroccan-Dutch community is also shocked.”
Really? Where has there ever been a tradition of Islam that rejected Sharia? What did Said Bouharrou expect the mosque schools to teach? Or is his shock for non-Muslim audiences only? Will there be any investigation to determine the answers to such questions, or would that be “Islamophobic”?
“MPs concerned by reports of Sharia law taught at mosque schools,” by Janene Pieters, NLTimes.nl, September 11, 2019:
Children at Salafist mosque schools in the Netherlands are taught Sharia law, and are taught the death penalty is appropriate for people with a different religion or belief system, according to a study by Nieuwsuur and NRC. The report has parliamentarians concerned….
In lessons and from books, children are taught which groups and types of people are “enemies” or “unbelievers”. The lessons also teach that adulterers, homosexuals, apostates and so-called ‘wizards’ deserve the death penalty. Children have to do multiple choice exercises in which they must choose which punishment is applicable – a. Whipping, b. Stoning, or C. Death by sword, according to the news agencies.
Politicians are shocked. ChristenUnie leader Gert-Jan Segers and VVD chairman Klaas Dijkhoff both want to amend the law so that the Education Inspectorate can also intervene in informal education after worrying signals. Currently the Inspectorate can only inspect regular schools.
The Moroccan-Dutch community is also shocked. Said Bouharrou of the Council of Moroccan Mosques told Nieuwsuur that he is seriously concerned about the influence of Salafism within Islamic education in the Netherlands. According to Bouharrou, several Moroccan-Dutch imams are worried, but they do not always dare to speak out for fear of reprisals.<.blockquote>

I’m *NOT* shocked, because SHARIA LAW demands the death sentence for homosexuals … and it starts with Mohammed and Mohammed’s first Caliph Abu Bakr … it’s normative Islam, rather than an aberration.
For the SHOCKED Dutch elites … here’s what SHARIA LAW actually says about punishing homosexuals:
… flogging, stoning, thrown from high place, wall pushed over to crush, burning to death
– Islam Question and Answer says: “The crime of homosexuality is one of the greatest of crimes, the worst of sins and the most abhorrent of deeds, and Allaah punished those who did it in a way that He did not punish other nations. It is indicative of violation of the fitrah, total misguidance, weak intellect and lack of religious commitment, and it is a sign of doom and deprivation of the mercy of Allaah.”
– In the Hanafi school of thought, the homosexual is first punished through harsh beating, and if he/she repeats the act, the death penalty is to be applied.
– In the Shafi`i school of thought, the homosexual receives the same punishment as adultery (if he/she is married) or fornication (if not married). This means, that if the homosexual is married, he/she is stoned to death, while if single, he/she is whipped 100 times. Hence, the Shafi`i compares the punishment applied in the case of homosexuality with that of adultery and fornication.
– In the Hanafi school, the two acts are differentiated, because anal sex [something that is prohibited, regardless of orientation] may also be involved, while in adultery [and fornication], the penis/vagina (which are reproductive parts) are involved.
– Some scholars hold the opinion that homosexuals should be thrown from a high building or stoned to death as a punishment for their crime, but other scholars maintain that they should be imprisoned until death occurs through starvation.
-Some of them (Islamic jurists) said that he should be punished in the same way as an adulterer, so he should be stoned if he is married and flogged if he is not married.
-Another view is that between two males, the active partner is to be lashed a hundred times if he is unmarried, and killed if he is married; whereas the passive partner is to be killed regardless of his marital status.
-Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: The highest point in the town should be found and the homosexual should be thrown head first from it, then stones should be thrown at him.
Ibn ‘Abbaas derived this hadd punishment from the punishment that Allaah sent upon the homosexuals of the people of Loot.
– It is narrated from Khaalid ibn al-Waleed that he found a man among one of the Arab tribes with whom men would have intercourse as with a woman. He wrote to (caliph) Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) and Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq consulted the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them).
‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib had the strongest opinion of all of them, and he said: “No one did that but one of the nations, and you know what Allaah did to them. I think that he should be burned with fire.” So Abu Bakr wrote to Khaalid and he had him burned.

Great post, mortimer!
When the West uses the phrase “What Would Jesus Do?”, it evokes a calm, peaceful solution to any given situation.
If the West was to use “What Would Muhammad Do?” to explain jihad, suicide-martyrdom, the murder of homosexuals, apostates, et al,. it just might start more dialogue, questioning, research….
Of course, using WWMD? would be met with cries of Islamophobia and blasphemy. Stop, or else!
Illustrating the point. EXACTLY what Muhammad would do.

Question for Dutch MPs : Are the normative Sharia law CORPORAL PUNISHMENTS and DEATH SENTENCE for homosexuals COMPATIBLE with Dutch values ? Yes or No?
Trick_or_Treat says
If that is a question to politician(s), then it should always be proposed with the rider, ‘…just a straight on-word answer please’, …..and then you usually still get nothing but the equivalent of a ream of verbal prevarication and obfuscation. ?

Homosexuality Laws in Modern Islamic Countries
Same-sex intercourse carries the death penalty in five officially Muslim nations: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Mauritania, Sudan, and Yemen. It formerly carried the death penalty in Afghanistan under the Taliban, and in Iraq under a 2001 decree by Saddam Hussein. The legal situation in the United Arab Emirates is unclear. In many Muslim nations, such as Bahrain, Qatar, Algeria or the Maldives, homosexuality is punished with jail time, fines or corporal punishment. In some Muslim-majority nations, such as Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, or Mali, same-sex intercourse is not forbidden by law. However, in Egypt gays have been the victims of laws against “morality”.
In Saudi Arabia, the maximium punishment for homosexuality is public execution, but the government will use other punishments, i.e. fines, jail time and whipping as alternatives, unless it feels that homosexuals are challenging state authority by engaging in a gay rights movement. Iran is perhaps the nation to execute the largest number of its citizens for homosexuality. Since its Islamic revolution in Iran, the Iranian government has executed more than 4000 people charged with homosexual acts. In Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban homosexuality went from a capital crime to one that it punished with fines and prison sentence, and a similar situation seems to have occurred in Iraq.

Moroccan Imams shocked? Tell me another one. Geert Wilders has been warning the Dutch Parliament for years that this would happen and the dummies held to their socialist notions that Islam would integrate and continued to learn nothing by ignoring the written works of Islam. Now (some) realize the distinction between what prominent Muslims tell them and what Muslims really believe. It’s all in the Quran and Sunnah, lazy politicians. Learn the truth by study before you discover it via the end of the Netherlands as a free society.

Alarmed Pig Farmer says
There is a pattern to so-called Liberalism: set hard demanding boundaries on what’s acceptable and must be tolerated. When Islam violates that regimen, stand down and allow the Moslems to propagate the exclusionary. After all, “liberal” implies freedom, and Moslems deserve their freedom of religion.
Remember, the queen of Holland not two years ago favored not seating the duly elected Geert Wilders to the Dutch parliament. That’s exclusionary, so there’s plenty of the stuff to go around between the Liberals and the hairy people.

If Dutch politicians don’t understand Islam 101 by now then they are either lying or are dangerously inept. I think it’s a bit of both, plus chronic self denial.

Is Netherland a Muslim country? Can one go to Saudi Arabia and openly practice his culture and religion? The problem is that the Europeans are fools to have given you too much leeway and now you are asking for more. It’s not your fault but their own.

Netherlands: Mosques found to be teaching Sharia, death for gays and apostates, mosque council “shocked”
…………………
Dutch politicians are shocked, but the “Moroccan-Dutch community” sure as hell isn’t. And Shari’ah–including death for gays and apostates–is not just “Salafist”, but orthodox Islam.
The only vaguely heartening thing here is the admission that this these horrors are indeed part of Shari’ah–something Muslims so often lie about to the credulous Infidels.
Are these Mosque and Madrasses going to be shut down? Are their Imams going to be deported? If we check back this time next year, will anything have changed? Likely not…

Scene in “Casablanca”about being “Shocked! Shocked! Shocked! to find out….what is taught in the mosques”
Goofy says
This is not complicated. Close down the mosques which encourage breaching of Dutch laws and send the imams back where they came from. Go carefully through the Koran and identify the numerous encouragements of acts which contravene Dutch law. Add to the present legislation special provisions for hate crimes for instance to be applied to perpetrators of terrorist attacks but also crimes like the self righteous “honour killings”. Make it easier to strip Muslims of their Dutch citizenship if they commit such crimes.

Excellent suggestions, but the Dutch government (and any other Western government) would be too afraid to implement them.
