Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Nigeria: Red Cross reports 22,000 missing in Boko Haram’s jihad, mostly children

Sep 15, 2019 9:00 am By Christine Douglass-Williams

While the persecution of Nigeria’s Christians by Fulani jihadists is approaching genocidal levels, Boko Haram is also waging jihad against Christian families, murdering them wantonly, separating families, and committing unspeakable abuses against innocent people; such news, however, is not regularly reported by the mainstream media and when it is, it is certainly not featured prominently.

Had the report been about 22,000 missing Muslims, mostly children, in a Christian country or in Israel, the world would be up in arms, as it should be. But why the difference in treatment of victims?

“Red Cross: 22,000 missing in Nigerian Boko Haram jihad,” New Straits Times, September 12, 2019:

LAGOS, Nigeria: Nearly 22,000 people, mostly children, are missing as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria, the Red Cross said on Thursday.

The jihadist uprising which started in 2009 has killed more than 27,000 people, displaced some two million, and spilt over into neighbouring countries, sparking a dire humanitarian crisis.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said in a statement that the nearly 22,000 Nigerians constituted the highest number of missing persons registered with the organisation in any country.

Some 60 percent of the total were minors at the time they went missing, meaning that thousands of parents do not know where their children are and if they are alive or dead, according to the Red Cross.

“Every parent’s worst nightmare is not knowing where their child is. This is the tragic reality for thousands of Nigerian parents, leaving them with the anguish of a constant search,” ICRC President Peter Maurer said at the end of a five-day visit to Nigeria….

What’s happening in Nigeria is a disaster and with the exception of few sites and blogs, such as Jihad Watch, no one is saying anything!! Where are the MSM, politicians, and Catholic hierarchy on this? https://thegreatarchitect.blog/2019/08/11/the-unknown-christian-genocide-in-nigeria/

      I agree.
      What is happening is horrifying.
All those who claim a soapbox of justice or racial equality or family togetherness should be speaking out. And yet, it seems they use their platform to attack the US rather than to save lives.

Yes–the whole world should be watching. Apart from that one mass kidnapping of girls–which most around the world probably thought was a one-off–there has been little international attention.

Thank you Jihadwatch! Thank you Christine Douglass-Williams! Mario is correct; most just want to bury their heads and ignore this is going on or if it is covered do it in a way where they only talk about the “farmer herdsman conflict.”
The People of the Cross exhibit from SavethePersecutedChristians.org is helping more people become aware. The Nigeria banner in the exhibit shows the slaughter in Jos and clearly states the truth… You can help with the work being done, go to the site, have the exhibit displayed in your area, sign the SPB petition and read the letter talking about the efforts in Nigeria, support if you can, post it and tell others.
We have got to speak up, standing by is not an option unless you are willing to just waiting your turn.

Thanks to CDW for this most important article. Between 1,000 and 2,000 Christians have been murdered by Muslims for the last 25 years … a shocking number of deaths which the globalist elites would deplore bitterly if the victims were Muslims killed by any other group.

What is wrong with the government of Nigeria that is allowing this slow genocide? The Nigerian politicians have blood on their hands!

The Nigerian government should place a large bounty on the heads of the killers … WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE. The murders will quickly stop.

Nigerian govt is inept, which has me think the majority are prob jihadists themselves (?)

Otherwise, how are we to understand their passivity in the face of this ongoing evil ?

They won’t because President Buhari, who’s a Fulani tribesman, wants to eradicate them! In 2001 at an Islamic seminar in Kaduna, then-General Buhari stated:
“I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria. God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country.”
Source: Babatunde Oyewole, “Insurgency and Buhari’s call for full Sharia,” Vanguard, December 24, 2014,https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/insurgency-buharis-call-full-sharia/

I was also in northeast Nigeria in the Diocese of Maiduguri. Fulani Islamists are also killing Christians.

Mortimer, the president of Nigeria is Muslim, and has done nothing to stop this Jihad.

And your idea that everyone would be eager to turn in Boko Haram members is questionable, in any case–the country is half Muslim, and support for Jihad and Shari’ah is widespread.

    Thank you Christine.
This horror distresses me no end.
I have a priest friend who sends me funny little cartoons immediately after I pass this horror on (to him).
All I can think it’s that he is unable to grasp the ongoing horror, which I find deeply baffling.

Likely most of the girls have been raped and “married” to Jihadists, and the boys turned into child soldiers.

Have I said how much I hate Islam?

Good news for Myanmar: the next time the international media portrays their pushback of jihad as “persecution of muslims”, all the authorities have to do is say “they were all converts to Christianity” – apparently, no one cares about the persecution of Christians…
