Breitbart reported less than two weeks ago that “the Vatican has created a special committee to draw out the principles contained in the controversial Abu Dhabi document, signed last February by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar.” The Pope believes something great was accomplished in the U.A.E. when he and Sheikh Ahmad El-Tayeb signed a document about “human fraternity.” He has high hopes it will lead to all kinds of good things — you know, things like Mutual Understanding and World Peace. He’s not the only enthusiast. Senior Catholic clerics in this country were quick to endorse his achievement:
The declaration signed by Pope Francis and Sheik Ahmad el-Tayeb, the grand imam of al-Azhar, during the pope’s trip to the United Arab Emirates “is a clarion call for robust dialogue that leads to peace,” said the Catholic chairman of the National Catholic-Muslim Dialogue and the chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Ecumenical and Inter-religious Affairs.
A “clarion call”? For a certain type of mind, all calls are “clarion,” just as majorities are always “vast,” taxpayers are always “hardworking,” growth is always “exponential,” threats are always “existential,” rage is always “unbridled,” and elegance is always “understated.” By their banality shall ye know them.
We have been having, for several decades, all kinds of interfaith “dialogues” which consist of Christians calling for peace and understanding, and expressing their deep respect for Islam, the “authentic” version of which is “opposed to every form of violence,” as Pope Francis famously said. The Muslim clerics pocket those positive remarks about Islam by their naive Christian interlocutors, without offering similar praise of Christianity in return. Now such a “dialogue” has taken place at the very highest level, between Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, Ahmad El-Tayeb.
“In our increasingly hostile world in which violence too often predominates between Christians and Muslims – violence that has led to tragic consequences for the most vulnerable humans – we welcome with great joy this historic joint statement on human fraternity,” said Cardinal Blase J. Cupich of Chicago and Bishop Joseph C. Bambera of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
It is not we who will decide, but posterity, whether or not this “joint statement on human fraternity” turns out to be “historic,” rather than just one more of the feelgood exercises that people deeply committed to the interfaith racket have been pushing for the last two decades.
“Violence too often predominates between Christians and Muslims” — a formulation that leaves out the fact that the violence always originates from the Muslim side; Christians are the victims who, very occasionally, fight back. There have been over 35,500 acts of Muslim terror since 9/11/2001 alone. In the United States, there have been major terror attacks by Muslims in New York, Washington, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Bernardino, Fort Hood, Little Rock, Chattanooga, Orlando. In Europe, there have terror attacks in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Nice, Toulouse, Magnanville, St. Etienne-du-Rouvray, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Würzburg, London, Manchester, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Malmö, Helsinki, Turku, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Beslan. Muslims have repeatedly attacked Coptic churches in Egypt, killed Christians, both Catholic and Protestant, in northern Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, and Syria, and murdered Assyrians in Iraq. Yet these two Catholic clerics, Cardinal Cupich and Bishop Bombera, appear to believe that there is some kind of equivalence between Muslim attackers and Christian victims: “Violence too often predominates between Christians and Muslims” — a curious phrase, with that free-floating “violence” unattached to any actor. That violence somehow “predominates” — how? why? when? — between Christians and Muslims. Not a word from the Christians about what Muslims read in the Qur’an and Hadith that explains that violence. Once you are caught in the interfaith web, it’s impossible to tell the grim truth, that the violence “between Christians and Muslims” comes overwhelmingly from the Muslims, as commanded in the Islamic texts. But no Christian taking part in these interfaith meetings dares to quote the Qur’anic verses about Infidels and Jihad, for fear of offending Muslims who would then break off that “dialogue” by which Christians set such store.
Pope Francis and Sheik el-Tayeb, a leading religious authority for many Sunni Muslims around the world, signed “A Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” Feb. 4 in Abu Dhabi….
But the centerpiece of the declaration was a call on Christians and Muslims to recognize and respect one another and work together for the good of humanity.
One is struck by the likely pointlessness of it all: that declaration between the Pope and his “friend and dear brother” Sheikh El-Tayeb, calling on Muslims and Christians “to recognize and respect one another and work together for the good of humanity” — haven’t we heard this many times before? What does it mean to “respect one another”? Or “to work for the good of humanity”? Muslims believe that in spreading Islam they are indeed working for the good of humanity. How does Pope Francis propose to change their minds about that? Are Muslims really going to ignore the many Qur’anic verses that teach them to despise, fear, hate, and wage Jihad against, Christians and other Infidels because Sheikh El-Tayeb signed some piece of paper with the Pope in Abu Dhabi? How many Muslims will say to themselves that the more than 100 Jihad verses in the Qur’an that command Believers to fight against Infidels wherever they are found, and to “strike terror” in their hearts, no longer apply because of that “Document on Human Fraternity”? How likely is that? Shouldn’t El-Tayeb be asked how he squares the words of that “Document on Human Fraternity For World Peace and Living Together” with Qur’an 2:191-194, 4:89, 8:12, 8:60, 9:5, 9:29? Or whether he thinks Muslims should still believe Qur’an 98:6, the verse in which Infidels are described as “the most vile of created beings”? We can well imagine that Catholic religious all over the world will get busy spreading the glad word about the “Document of Fraternity,”and — save for a few holdouts — will enthusiastically convey to their flocks the glad news about how splendid Muslims are, and how worthy the religion of Islam is, following the inflexible party line laid down by Pope Francis. But how many Muslim clerics do you think will be praising Christianity, and Christians?
Commenting on the document on Feb. 8, Cupich and Bambera urged “all people of goodwill, especially leaders of nations and religious groups,” to read and study the declaration “in the hope that it might serve as a resource to overcome division through a renewed commitment to dialogue and the establishment of goodwill.
So, to sum up, there was that short meeting dialogue in the U.A.E., followed by the joint declaration of bland bomfoggery (“brotherhood of man, fatherhood of god”), which will now “serve as a resource” to “overcome division” through a “renewed commitment to dialogue.” Make sure you follow that now: the “dialogue” leading to what was written in the U.A.E. document will now lead to a renewed commitment to “dialogue.’’And let’s face it: don’t you think this “renewed commitment to dialogue” will again lead to — you’ve guessed it — a further commitment to “dialogue”? Dialogue away, boys, to your heart’s content. It will mean nothing, as long as no one dares to mention, or even deplore, what is in the Qur’an and hadith. Meanwhile, Muslims all over the world will be happy to engage in this visible “dialogue” with their Christian brothers, while they carry on as they always have, for 1,400 years, dutifully following the Qur’an and Hadith, to spread mayhem and murder among the Infidels. El-Tayeb 100, Pope Francis 0.

There is no human fraternity of peace. The least peaceful group in the world is Isam. It wants Armageddon. A final battle. Other religions have visions of peace without obliterating Islam, but the only Islamic vision of peace requires other religions and all people to submit to Allah and the Prophet Muhammad. There are Muslims who live in peace with non-Muslims, but that doesn’t seem to prevent Jihadists from continuing to terrorize everyone else.

It was never the case that “allah”{who CURSES Christians k9:30 and denies everything about Jesus Christ in the koran despite-laughably-claiming he gave the Gospel to Jesus k5:46-47}was seen as EQUAL to the Christian God.
Until now, under francis.

Yes. Pope Francis has no idea that the Koran is actually an arrest warrant for Christians and Jews. The Koran authorizes the enslavement and exploitation of Jews and Christians and Sharia authorizes the death of almost all other categories if it is beneficial to Islam.
Human rights in Islam depend on your religious beliefs. Atheists, agnostics, Buddhists and polytheists have no right to even breathe according to the Koran and according to the practice of the first centuries of Islam.

I don’t think any of the people you mentioned are clueless about the dangers of Islam or its nature. That’s what’s so sickening. The question is, what nefarious plans do these Western leaders have, either for good or evil, and do they really think those plans will work, and are they prepared for the consequences? They’ve already been selling out their citizens and the Pope is acting so brain-addled about Islam that some kind of future peaceful co-existence with Islam are hollow words. And why even need all this endless dialogue? Are they having dialogues with Hindus and Buddhists? What about the millions of secularists who don’t give two hoots for these dialogues? Isn’t the fact that these dialogues and outreach indicative of the problem-that it’s even necessary in the first place?
Peace and fraternity between two religions in the 21st century. Pretty pathetic that it’s being discussed at all. Islam’s idea of ‘peace’ is subjugating ALL under MuhammadAllah. Catholics should revolt against this Pope.

READ THE FINE PRINT … (all parts of this document are subject to being overruled by Sharia law)
Bill Warner warns about believing Muslims when they talk about human rights … a Kafir is not a ‘human’.
Quotes: “Human beings are those who submit to Allah and that’s our first insight into the true nature of this doctrine. What about those who do not submit to Allah?
It goes ahead to say all men are equal in terms of basic human dignity. Well, not really because in the Sharia, there are Kafirs and believers and Kafirs are not treated equally under the Sharia.
The Cairo Declaration ends with a simple statement. All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this declaration are subject to the Sharia. It is a case where the little print takes away everything that the big print promises. Because there aren’t any rights and freedoms inside of the Sharia for the Kafir. Human rights are only for Muslims. Kafirs don’t have any rights because Kafirs are not humans. So much for the declaration of human rights under Islam.” – Bill Warner on human rights in Islam

The death of Francis will not solve what now terribly ails the Catholic Church. Indeed, I see a possible ecclesiastical civil war coming because many Catholics are on board with Francis and many loathe what he has done and his demise will still leave the Church very divided. In effect, his death will arguably be a mere technicality. He, I fear, will have even more power from his grave than he will have had in life.

The Pope, and the Sankt Galen Maria that installed him, are counterfeit Christians who dress the modernist heresies promulgated by freemasons and communists in the vestments of the catholic church. Having abandoned their duty to the kingdom of God, they happily accommodate the blasphemies and iniquity of Islam in the name of ‘human brotherhood’. This has caused ever clearer statements of outright heresy to be issued, as has been clarified by his excellency bishop Athanasius Schneider. Until the corrupted clergy are replaced by those attentive to the holy spirit and to the deposit of faith of the apostolic church such deleterious heresy will continue to spread it’s poison. God willing the day when these egregious errors are anathematised and the Church renews its mission to save souls is not too long at hand. But today as so long before the Christian must trust in the mercy of the almighty and affirm the truth of Christ regardless the menaces faced.

Pope Francis offers a vision of hope for the future of humanity spared a new holocaust of hate. Surely he appreciates the enormity of the challenge. The Pope’s inter-faith vision echoes the clarion call of then-Senator Obama, who offered the diverse peoples of the United States and all humankind “hope in the face of difficulty, hope in the face of uncertainty, the audacity of hope.”
Pope Francis is building on the historic legacy of former President Obama in a troubled post-9/11 world. Just as the Pope finds in religious concepts the basis of deft political outreach, Obama recast political objectives in religious terms. “In the end, that is God’s greatest gift to us,” observed the then Presidential candidate, “the bedrock of this nation, a belief in things not seen, a belief that there are better days ahead.”

Rich,
Some think democracy and globalization are the way to world peace. Some think mixing the races, ethnic groups and religions will bring about world peace.
But the history of man shows very few years when the world had a moment of peace. The lulls in war were nothing more than periods of rebuilding and rearming for war. Most of man’s existence on the earth has been a time of warring by individuals, tribes, nations and groups of nations. We live in a world of war.
Occasionally there are pleasant, though brief, moments of unity, often after a tragedy. But sadly, unity is fleeting. Disunity does not stay away very long.
A thinking person may ask, “Where is God in all of this? Why is there so much division in the world? Didn’t Jesus come to bring peace to the earth?”
The surprising answer is “No,” at least not yet! Christ said, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth.” (Matthew 10:34–36).
When Christ was born as a flesh and blood human baby, His purpose during that life was not to bring peace to the world.
However, He will accomplish that at His Second Coming. The Bible foretells the events leading up to His return when He will establish His kingdom and a Millennium of peace.
The Bible reveals that peace comes from following the laws of God (Psalm 119:165) and that Jesus Christ is going to return to this earth as the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7) to show mankind the way to peace and put an end to war forever (Isaiah 2:2-4).
Seekers of peace need to read the Book that reveals the way to lasting peace.
Obedience to God’s commandments would bring peace and fulfillment and joy to all the nations and peoples of this earth. It is the real answer to all of our problems, individually and collectively.
It is the way of life Jesus Christ is going to teach when He returns to rule this world very soon (Micah 4:2).
But, in the immediate future—some truly hard lessons to be learned.

Well, as far as I can see, this meeting was just as pointless as the negotiations over a two state settlement for the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. The reason these negotiations never lead to a settlement is clearly that the Palestinians do not want two states in Palestinian but only one of their own choosing. And of course there is a comment below on how Pope Francis is like Obama. Well, Obama supported the deposition and murder of Ghadaffi, who was cooperating at least to a degree with the US. He gave huge amounts of money to Iran which did not respond by becoming peaceful or giving up its nuclear weapons programs, terror subsidies or ICBM research. Obama did indulge in meaningless rhetoric but that was about it. Even at home he encouraged conflict. He made disparaging remarks about Christians and America and praised the Islamic religion, brought huge numbers of Muslims into the USA, which has led to many cases of terror, rape and crime but not harmony of the religions. He tried to support conflict between blacks and the police and was friends with people who incited conflict between Jews and blacks. He associated with communists and extreme leftists in the Saul Alinsky school of political action. Both obama and the pope look a lot like global internationalists, anxious to tear down Christianity and Western democracy and replace them with collectivism and totalitarianism not unlike that found in the Jihadi vision. In the Renaissance there were popes who led armies, perhaps we need more of a spirit of trying to defend Christianity and its values in the Vatican instead of the whistling-in-the-dark mentality of the current pope. He seems just trying to compromise his own church for the sake of empty promises and wishful thinking.

Pope Dupe has been duped again. Frances refuses to read Islam’s fine print in the deal. Islam’s fine print is in Sharia law and it nullifies all agreements with Kafirs.
This is actually not a deal at all, but a typical Islamic WORD GAME or Jedi mind trick. In Islam, words have entirely different and unsuspected meanings. For instance, take the word ‘human’ as in human rights.
The Cairo Declaration (an Islamic view of human rights that submits to Sharia law) says that ” all human beings form one family whose members are united by their subordination to Allah.”
Did you catch the trick hidden in that? According to this statement, a Kafir who doesn’t submit to Allah is not part of the human family and doesn’t deserve to have rights. A Kafir is not subordinate to Islam and he is excluded from the human family.
The Koran says those who disbelieve (kufaru vb 3 pers.pl.) are the worst of beasts in the eyes of Allah … Kafirs are worse than cockroaches, poisonous snakes or disease-carrying rats.
So should Kafirs have human rights according to Islam? What do you think?
K. 8.54 in different translations:
Sahih International: Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are those who have disbelieved, and they will not [ever] believe –
Pickthall: Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are the ungrateful who will not believe.
Yusuf Ali: For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe.
Shakir: Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe.
Muhammad Sarwar: The most wicked creatures in the sight of God are the unbelievers who never have faith,
Mohsin Khan: Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allah are those who disbelieve, – so they shall not believe.
Arberry: Surely the worst of beasts in God’s sight are the unbelievers, who will not believe,

Can’t tell you how good it is to seeing you posting again so regularly! Haven’t read any posts from Tricia lately. Hope you are both doing well.

Thank you very much. I have seen only one, that I can recall, from Tricia, and I hope to see more as she is able.
I know I miss some, as I now need new glasses, but can’t get them until the dr is done with me. I see him later in the week and I’m praying for good news about my vision. Gotta have a shot in my right eye, and hoping no laser for the left.
Thank your for the kind encouragement.

Oh, my. When I was a young man, one of my beloved Chinese language/lit teachers said, “Religion [教] is just writings [文】 that teach me to be virtuous 【 孝】.” My teacher grew up in a part of northern China where there was a sizeable Hui minority, as well as Buddhists and Daoists; just as I grew up in a pluralist part of the USA. How I wish it really were all that simple!
I believe that the question “What think ye of Christ?” will always be a large divide between people–and Muhammad and his people have loudly and proudly given the wrong answer. It appears that Pope Francis is also leaning towards giving the wrong answer. However, for those of us who believe that the Messiah of Israel and Saviour of the World has come, we have his apostle enjoining us to seek peace with all men, as much as it is up to us. This is such a difference to the pretended “prophet” telling his followers to strike at necks until the unbelievers either are dead or submit and pay extorted protection money (in good Mafia fashion). The fat old book that the Messiah has given us also teaches us that we are elect from the grace and mercy of God towards a fallen and sinful humanity rather than due to our own righteousness; Muhammad’s pack of wild jokers assures its readers that they are the best of men. It is by the sacrifice the Messiah made for us that we have atonement and healing; again, Muhammad’s pack of wild jokers thinks it is honoring Jesus by denying the crucifixion.
Pope Francis is part of a large Western elite community that thinks it is in the know when it really is woefully ignorant not only of its own Christian tradition, but also those of non-Western traditions. How it must grate on any Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu or Daoist when some North American or European diplomat or head of state preaches to them how the non-Westerner’s tradition so perfectly fits the sentiments of our own misnamed enlightenment or post-modern, New Age paradigm!
While we should pray for our misled leaders, do not expect them to bring us back to our senses. I would urge all here who is grinding his teeth over this trahison de le grand-clerc to blow the dust off the Old and New Testaments and begin doing a little reading and rea-appropriation for themselves.
@ Wellington: insightful as always.

This is no doubt a most difficult task but how does Catholicism benefit by aligning itself with a conquest ideology that claims that Christ is a Muslim fraud who faked his own death and who will return at the end of the world to break the crosses and send Catholics to hell and Muslims to heaven
James Lincoln says
Terry Gain,
I would go further than that.
Pope Francis is very rapidly damaging Catholicism – to the point where it will soon be beyond repair.

There might be some hope for civil coexistence between Infidels and Islam’s Adherents if those Adherents accept the virtual changes made to the Quran by Jordan, China, and France. They virtually removed the Supremacist hate speech from the Quran.
gravenimage says
Actually, the Qur’an has not changed. Jordan toned down the Islamic hate a bit in school textbooks–that was all. And Muslims in France have balked at any proposal to curb hatred of Jews in their “holy book”:
“Muslims Recoil at a French Proposal to Change the Quran”

Islam is intrinsically violent.

Heaven only knows—I have followed this Pope’s words from day one and I have never thought he knows God.
Wellington says
There’s a lot Francis doesn’t know.
somehistory says
He is too arrogant to know God. Knowing God take humility.
His ego is too big to know God. One must be modest, knowing one’s limitations, to know God.
He is too self=absorbed and self-important to know God. Knowing God means “not thinking more of oneself than is necessary to think,’ and to put others ahead of self.
Carolyne says
Oh those wild and crazy guys. There they go again. Aren’t there any bedrooms in the Vatican?

Catholic clerics are trained to be submissive and obedient, and never to question the authority of the Church. You will not find many of them who can think clearly and critically. You will find a lot of slavish yes-men. So of course they approve.
gravenimage says
Oh, there are some Catholic clerics who are resisting this suicidal insanity. Too few, though.

GLOBAL ALLIANCE OF RELIGIONS JOINS PUSH FOR U.N. AGENDA 2030
BY ALEX NEWMAN
SEE: https://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/faith-and-morals/item/33346-global-alliance-of-religions-joins-push-for-un-agenda-2030;
It’s a must read, a bit long but every bit of it is worth it. You won’t be bored. It’s spine tingling to the last word.
The bottom line is that the agendas for a one world government, a one world religion, and a one world economy are underway. They want a global tyranny that employs technology and bureaucracy on an Orwellian level. It’s all for the typical buzz word causes of ‘for the common good,’ for ‘mother earth,’ etc. And of course it will all be under the antichrist’s rule. He’s spearheading it too, of course. All of this stuff comes together for the end times events. Their mystical ‘all is god’ pagan pantheism and panentheistic worship of ‘mother earth’ aka environmentalism, on one hand they put nature above man and on the other is the secular human potential movement of man becoming like god in the ‘you can do whatever you put your mind to’ delusion. There is the false unity ‘oneness’ campaign, the joining what is evil for ‘the common good’ and compromising for ‘common ground’ and all the keywords of ‘unity, tolerance, inclusion, brotherhood, world peace, harmony, love,’ and open borders for all, no ‘illegal’ immigrants, and pro lgbt and murder of the unborn in the name of curbing reproduction, and anyone who stands opposed based on Biblical principles is called a ‘hater’ and all the other typical slurs. There is so much more to it so just go read it and see for yourself.
This is exactly what the Bible says will happen during the end times, read Revelation 13.
Those like me who stand on God’s Word and preach it right will be carted off as ‘haters’ and dealt with as the Bible says will happen in the end. They are putting in the finishing touches. The world will never be the same as we knew it. The quiet days are about to be over. Just know that and plan accordingly. Make sure you are right with God. You need to come to Jesus to get saved. Rituals won’t save you, you must give your heart to Jesus of your own freewill.
somehistory says
Thanks for the link, Lycia Church.
I look forward to reading it as I firmly believe Revelation 13 is being fulfilled.
Thankfully, Jesus Christ promised us that a “great crowd” would survive the end of this system of things. And for those who are perishing due to persecution and the ravages of imperfections, He has promised a resurrection.
He said, “When you see all these things, raise yourselves erect and lift up your heads because your deliverance is growing near.”

GLOBAL ALLIANCE OF RELIGIONS JOINS PUSH FOR UN AGENDA 2030
To print – 6 pages [print button at top right of article on webpage]
Much of the rhetoric and policy coming out of this conference can be clearly traced back to the efforts of Pope Francis, who has been openly promoting globalism, the UN Agenda 2030, mass migration, and more under the guise of Christianity. His recent agreement with a leading Sunni Muslim drew global scrutiny, as did his formal blessing on the work of the deeply controversial “World Government Summit” in the United Arab Emirates. However, his growing attacks on traditional Christian doctrines have shocked even Catholic theologians, spurring growing and potentially unprecedented divisions within the Catholic Church. Meanwhile, the UN has long been seeking to unite the world under its control by hyping and promoting bizarre theological notions and “spiritual” views. In fact, it has repeatedly demanded that “spirituality education” be incorporated in schools worldwide. And the author of UNESCO’s “World Core Curriculum,” Robert Muller, admitted in the forward to the Teachers’ Manual that his global education scheme was based on the teachings of Lucifer Publishing Company founder Alice Bailey. Totalitarianism, globalism, socialism, and other dangerous “isms” must be rejected in every form. And those deadly, anti-Christian ideologies should never be promoted under the guise of “religion,” especially Christianity. Christians involved in this effort should read their Bible and seriously reconsider their involvement. Alex Newman

Jorge Bergoglio, self styled bishop of Rome does not speak for Christians in general. Neither does he speak for Catholics in particular.
he has publicly denied core christian doctrine repeatedly as in when he told the small boy whose atheist father had died that the man would be in heaven; or that having or claiming a personal relationship with Jesus was wrong and dangerous. This last not only offends charismatics like myself but he spits in the faces of his own tradition of catholic mystics.
Whatever i might think of Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross or Francis of Assisi, they ALL claimed personal relationship with Christ, and one denying this as a catholic has denied the catholic faith
The Church of Rome really needs to get its act together and defrock or defenestrate this wolf in sheep’s clothing.
His very presence does give credibility to the Sedes Vacante movement in Catholicism who claim that there is no pope for the seat is vacant
