Syria, Kentucky — what’s the difference? When even CNN admits that “this is a big black eye for ABC News,” you know it’s very bad. It strains credulity to think this happened by mistake. ABC, like all of the establishment media, was so avid to use the Turkish incursion into Syria to get Trump that they used what they could to make it look as brutal as possible, and hence Trump as bad as possible.
ABC, as well as CNN and the rest of them, is not a news source anymore, not by any stretch of the imagination. They’re all just propaganda outfits, not to be trusted.
What else are they lying about, when they didn’t get caught?
“Questions swirl after ABC airs video from Kentucky gun range, labeled as Syria,” by Brian Stelter, CNN, October 15, 2019:
This is a big black eye for ABC News.
“ABC aired supposedly shocking footage Monday and Sunday purporting to be from the frontline battle between the Syrian Kurds and the invading Turks. The only problem is, the footage appears to come from a nighttime machine gun demonstration at the Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point, Kentucky,” the Washington Examiner’s T. Becket Adams wrote Monday.
Adams was one of the first reporters to look into this — he was tipped off by a Twitter user. ABC issued a correction on Twitter and said the news division “regrets the error.” That’s an understatement…
Meanwhile, ABC did not air a correction on Monday’s “World News Tonight.”
A spokesperson declined to comment to CNN Business.
How could this happen?!
This is a stunning, embarrassing error for one of the nation’s biggest news outlets. The video aired on Sunday’s “World News Tonight” AND Monday’s “GMA.” I’m told that ABC is investigating what went wrong… But so far, as the NYT noted, the network is declining to comment “on how the mix-up had happened.”…

This is bad particularly because Brian Stelter, one of the biggest buffoons on CNN, reported this story.

Kurds seem to have become as Islamist as others in their region. Can they be trusted to be any more democratic and less dictatorial than others. Can the Kurds be trusted to be political allies of the United States? It is certain that Turkey can never be trusted now, since the Islamist movement in Turkey has managed to suppress Turkish secularism. Will Turkish secularism experience a revival? Time will tell, after Erdogan is in his grave or in exile. There seems little chance Erdogan can be overthrown by a military coup, since all secularists were purged from the army. Turkey is making itself the enemy of the world.
The political choice in the region daily becomes less obvious.
mortimer says
Erdogan has closed all doors for Turks to replace him, outside of an assassination. Eventually, some Turkish fanatic or Turkish jihadist will get to Erdogan unless he voluntarily allows a democratic succession. Erdogan will become another Ceausescu or another Kaddafi.

Asses in the air. Deranged heads on the floor. Some people claim that this evil conquest ideology is a religion. Imagine a “god” who commands his adherents to kill innocent people. I concur with Obama on this one: “no religion condones killing”.

Response to TG: 51% of Islamic primary texts are political. 18% is about Allah and the rest is about Mohammed.
Giacomo Latta says
All Islamic primary texts are about Mohammed, his dick and his love of luxury. Many halfwits since have used these texts for their own political purpose based on supposed interactions with a supposed god.

To TG: It is pointless (and incorrect) to assert that Islam is not religion, since it is a hybrid that totally and confidently amalgamates the mosque inside the government of imperial Islam.
Islam is the perfect marriage of religion and government. In Sharia law, there is no separation between them.
Islam is a theocratic imperial system from top to bottom as decreed in Sharia law.
In the absence of an Islamic state, Muslims are to act ‘as if’ there is an Islamic state by using vigilantism and ‘self-directed’ jihad to overturn and conquer secular governments in order to implement Sharia law by force. (We can see how that’s going … over 35,000 deadly jihad attacks since 9-11.)
Political Islam is the political theory of Islam derived from its theocratic theories and from the model life of Mohammed.
TG … Islam is DUALISTIC … kindly read the memo.

My valiant efforts to persuade people to see Islam for what it is will continue. I am undeterred. Is a man who is faithful to his wife 18% of the time a husband?
I also don’t regard satanism as a religion. Something cannot be the opposite of what it is.

It only matters to the IRS for tax purposes.

Obama, of course, was pretending that Islam does not call for the murder of innocent people–he was *not* claiming that Islam is not a religion.
Terry Gain says
Obama pretend? Surely you jest. I take him at his word. My liberal friends say he has never lied. So why not use his words against him in the impossible chance that he did.

Robert Spencer is correct: “ABC, as well as CNN and the rest of them, is not a news source anymore … all (are) just propaganda outfits, not to be trusted.”
They are mere stenographers of the Dem party. They are not necessary even to ‘report’ … a voice-activated computer program could take the messages from the Dem party and read them over the air with an artificial, computerized human voice, thus saving many millions of dollars. Furthermore, a computer-generated human image could be used to read the Dem party’s messages on air.
ABC and CNN could save all the unnecessary costs of having highly-paid actors (with costly support staff) merely to read the Dem party’s official daily propaganda line.
Even on-the-air sports-casts are being politically charged, thus even sports lose some credibility.
People will start saying that there’s little or no accurate news in ABC or CNN.

Are you sure that photo isn’t “burning man”, in the desert can’t recall the state, an organized event of the loose type of artists, trying to survive trading food, riding bikes half naked and you dress or undress as you like ..tons of customs . tones of freedom for sexual relations..classified as freedom…and at the end burn a wood built man with outstretched arms that appear as a cross which would be strange at a shooting gallery…..I knew someone who ‘s husband attended it is artistic circus but with a message almost glorifying a desert human sharing to survive…a little cultural diversity?
but not quite ….I am sure someone had a phone. They would all protest slaughter in Syria….they just would not have a clear understanding why is occurs

It was no mix up. It was not a glitch. It was not a gaffe. This was intentional 100%, and they got caught.

I think that is most likely.
eduardo odraude says
Wait till “deep fakes” come into the mix. There is software now that can make anyone appear to say anything and so naturally that it takes an expert examination to determine if the video was faked. Deep fakes may become pervasive on both sides, and no one then will any longer have any idea what is fake and what is real.

ABC News uses footage from Kentucky gun range, claims it’s video from frontline battle between Kurds and Turks
……………………..
Errors occur–some are entirely plausible and it is easy to see how they might have happened–two battles covered by the same reporter on the same trip, say, but on different days–that sort of thing.
But there is *no* innocent explanation for this. This was clearly ginned up.

Keep the battered bastards of Knob Creek Gun Range in your thoughts in these desperate hours of being wedged between the Turkish army and the Kurdish militias. They need our support now more than ever. Oh and President Trump has blood on his hands for allowing this to occur.
