Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Department of Education says Duke-UNC program must include other religions, not just “positive aspects of Islam”

Oct 13, 2019 9:00 am By Christine Douglass-Williams

“The Department of Education maintained that the joint Duke University-University of North Carolina program needs to ‘expand’ to include more religions beyond Islam to fulfill federal grant funding requirements.”

The problem is that the Duke-UNC program has been disproportionately presenting “the positive aspects of Islam, while there is an absolute absence of any similar focus on the positive aspects of Christianity, Judaism or any other religion or belief system in the Middle East.”

While the world engages in a battle against the global jihad, Duke, UNC, and other colleges and universities are teaching people the positive aspects of Islam. By now, everyone knows — or should know — that not all Muslims promote violence and supremacy; that is obvious. But it is also obvious that for 1400 years, normative Islam has been violent and expansionist, and still is. Yet Muslim Brotherhood groups and their allies in the West continue to complain about the “hurt feelings” of Muslims and promote the “Islamophobia” narrative. Meanwhile, the West continues to be subverted, Christian populations in the Middle East, Pakistan, and other Muslim areas continue to be wiped out, other religious minorities continue to be murdered and abused, and Israel continues to face implacable, genocidal opposition, all in the name of Islam. But the aspects of Islam that have led to all this are not examined in the Duke-UNC program.

In September, the Trump Administration sent the message to Duke-UNC to “stop promoting Islam on our dime.” The funding of the Duke-UNC program to promote “positive aspects of Islam” is now threatened.

“Dept. of Education stands firm that Duke-UNC joint program needs to ‘expand’ to include more religions beyond Islam,” by Justine Coleman, The Hill, October 10, 2019:

The Department of Education maintained that the joint Duke University-University of North Carolina program needs to “expand” to include more religions beyond Islam to fulfill federal grant funding requirements.

The department stood its ground that the consortium needs to diversify its content to meet the requirements of the Title VI federal funding, according to a letter it sent to the program from Assistant Secretary Robert King on Wednesday.

King wrote in the letter that the department is “simply encouraging” the increased diversity after it determined “certain religions or ideological points of view” were elevated over others in the program.

“Although the Consortium claims that it gave equal attention and fair treatment to diverse perspectives in the region, its Annual Progress Reports do not support that conclusion,” the letter states.

The Duke-UNC Consortium for Middle East Studies has received its funding for the next school year at the end of last month, according to Duke’s student newspaper Duke Chronicle.

A representative for the Education Department said the funding was provided “because the goal was to bring the CMES into compliance with the Title VI rules, and that we are working with the school to ensure that the money is used for the purposes set out by Congress.”

King’s letter was written in response to a letter sent by the consortium on Sept. 25 protesting the department’s August letter. That first letter directed the program to be revised because it disproportionately portrays “the positive aspects of Islam, while there is an absolute absence of any similar focus on the positive aspects of Christianity, Judaism or any other religion or belief system in the Middle East.”…

Diversity of ideas and diversity of opinions are anathema to the Leftist agenda, because, by definition, PROPAGANDA consists of “information or ideas methodically spread to promote or injure a cause, movement, nation, etc., and the deliberate spread of such information or ideas”. Whether a reader of a propaganda message agrees or disagrees with the content, the PURPOSE of the message is to convey ONLY ONE WAY to look at a particular situation or idea.

The Left in Western country is so cocksure of their own INFALLIBILITY that they are ready to crush the freedom of expression of all who don’t share their opinions or their ‘narratives’.

‘Narrative’ is another word for BS.

I see it as much more malicious than you have expressed here. I do agree with your synopsis however (not withstanding the motives you accept for this madness). The Universities are hot beds of communist propaganda and the fact that communism (where ever it is found on earth) is hostile to any religion. I believe the only reason these communist operatives support Mohammedanism is because it is extremely violent. In seeking to destabilize governments (principally the Western Governments) they have a “puppet proxies” para-military arm to use in the destabilization operation. Remember that all guerrilla movements have two wings. One is political (the Universities) and the other is military (the moslems). Since the end of WW-II and the establishment of the United Nations every attempt at overthrowing any government has used this game plan. The communist took control (not overnight of course) of our Universities and Higher education. Then organized a system (notably through the GI Bill) where every citizen was required to enroll for re-education if they were to be successful in this culture. I encountered an almost militant school teacher in the mid sixties who preached the virtues of communism with a passion (Flathead High-school, Kalispell Montana). He would allow no argument against the Communist Manifesto. The race wars in the US in those days were largely the result of the communist seeking to split the United States (destabilization) and in cases that I know of, the Campus agitators were not even students of the school where they worked. The news groups ran pictures of large crowds around the agitators (using bull horns) as if they had the support of all these college kids. In reality, most in the crowd were simply drawn there to see the excitement. These days, we have the hard line “Hippies” who were very communist in their politics, running much of the US Government either in elected office or political appointments to the huge bureaucracies created by the Democratic Party. These problems are very much by design and absolutely not by accident, as the usurpers would have us believe.

Islam is this country’s and mankind’s enemy and devoted Muslims are its foot soldiers.
In a previous post I said much the same regarding the current condemnation of Trump for drawing down our troop presence with the Kurds.
Label, in support of Islam, thought I had supported his assertion that Jihad Watch caters to hate mongers.
My assertion has nothing to do with hate and everything to do with realities.
I’ve lived with Muslims and worked with them. No hatred then or violence occurred, and our mutual interests prevailed — we essentially respected our differences; but it didn’t mean we were not ‘enemies’; as it well known for anyone who examines Islam that devoted Muslims from their own Koran and religious directives, are required to be on a militant and enemy mentality with those not Muslim.
I’ll let others bring in the specific passages and facts from both the Koran and history — and everyday news events to support me.
Or one might even look for themselves. I am not obliged to be a librarian or research assistant to those who think because they are friendly or do business with Muslims, Islam can be thought innocuous and benign- Islam is anything but.

Absolute Truth is what you said. Muslims will be friendly, and seem as though you are their friend, but as soon as they get what they want, then you can bet your _ _ _ that they will turn on you, if another Muslim calls you out and the so-called-friend can come to your defense, he won’t if it means losing his brotherhood of Islam. It is said in the Koran to hide behind rocks, and attack when it is safe to kill a Christian, or a Jew. This country better wake up and truly see that “Trump” is the only man for the job of being our President. He cares for the American citizens, and the American Way of Life, which is One Nation Under God, God of the Bible not the Koran, and Jeusus is His Son.

When reality conflicts with your cherished ideals you have two choices: You can adjust your assessment to fit reality or you can pretend that your ideals are valid and ignore reality. What has happened in the past several years is that as it has become more evident that Islamic violence and intolerance plague the world, the starry-eyed fantasy crowd has become more strident in its anti-intellectualism and intolerance to dissent. Hence, we get these attempts at Orwellian education.

    ………………….

Yes–all too many universities do nothing but whitewash Islam–just surprised to see the Department of Education say anything about it. This may be the influence of Betsy DeVos

“Positives Aspects of Islam”? So that can’t involve reading the Koran entirely(not just the approved suras)or examining the childhood of Aisha?

Congratulations to the Department of Education AND Trump for acknowledging what is being spewed in our higher education facilities. I was losing faith in our government but perhaps not all is doomed (I won;t hold my breath, however). It is a travesty to see what is happening to our freedoms.

It isn’t only Duke which is by-passing the provisions of their easily garnered tax-payers’ money, but it is nation-wide:

I took Islam and Politics at Drury University in 2007. It was the most eye opening history class ive ever taken. My professor stated that after taking his class, i would know more about Islam than the “average joe”. He was right. We had to read and summarize each chapter of the koran as part of an assignment. The koran was repetitive, childish garbage. I also wrote a term paper entitled “Children and Jihad”. In my research i found webpages dedicated to teaching children about jihad. Farfur, a mickey mouse clone teaches kids how to hate the jews and infidels. There was even a video game on the site where the objective is to drop bombs on moving cars. It was sickening. When i retrieve my paper from storage, i intend to repost the address for others to see if it still exists. My professor is a hero.
