The Left’s war with reality drives it farther into insanity every day. Clement Weill-Raynal discovered that Paris jihad murderer Mickaël Harpon was a convert to Islam and said on the air that the attack could be jihad. For that, his employers are threatening him. It was a jihad attack, so they should be thanking him for allowing them to break the story, but they cannot bear that much reality.
“Prefecture of police: a journalist sanctioned for having evoked an Islamist attack?,” translated from “Préfecture de police : un journaliste sanctionné pour avoir évoqué un attentat islamiste?,” Le Point, October 11, 2019 (thanks to David):
Can we blame a journalist for doing his job? This is the question Force Ouvrière asks in a statement issued on Monday, October 7. According to the union, Clément Weill-Raynal, who works for the France Télévisions group, was summoned by his superiors for his coverage of the attack at the police headquarters in Paris. A few hours after the events, the journalist mentioned on the air “the hypothesis of an act motivated by radical Islam”. According to FO, he was threatened with sanctions for having “prematurely” mentioned the possibility of an attack.
Contacted by Le Point, Clement Weill-Raynal, who says he is “scared” by the turn of the case, returned to the events of Thursday, October 3. The journalist was one of the first to arrive on the scene of the search of the killer’s home with his team, they had the task of feeding reports to the antennas of France 2, France 3 and Franceinfo, which had switched to special reporting; this involved several direct phone calls. Thanks to “information collected in the field”, the reporter was the first to reveal on the air that the killer at the prefecture had “converted to Islam”.
A “lack of control over the air”?
But, as stated in the union statement, the professional was summoned several times the day after the attack: “During the interviews, which took place in a stormier atmosphere each time, our colleague was been criticized for his ‘lack of control on the air’, in particular for having mentioned too early the ‘hypothesis’ of a terrorist attack of Islamist inspiration, which, for his superiors, constituted a ‘fault’. According to the union, the management reportedly mentioned possible “sanctions” such as an “antenna ban”. Two turns of phrase were involved, explains the one who had filmed the “Wall of Cons”: first, “the author of what seems to be an attack”, then, later in the day, “the assumption of an Islamist attack”.
Clément Weill-Raynal explains that he did “only [his] job”, first by mentioning an “attack”, but without qualifying it – “It seems to me that when we stab four policemen, it is an attack” – and then, by making only one “hypothesis”, on the basis of what he was able to collect on the ground and which was verified the next day. For Force Ouvrière, these “threats and implications are unjustifiable”, and the union refers to “pressures” that “are intimidating in intent”. They wonder if “the approach of the information management against this journalist does not translate to an inability to discern the reality of information”. …

The Left believes it has a postmodern monopoly on truth. In that respect, Leftism is not different from fascism, that is self-consciously morally relative. Philosophically speaking, if the truth is only a function of commercial interest or of power politics, then might makes right and censorship goes to the strongest.
Because the Left has now gone full fascist, they impervious to facts, and want the general populace not to receive those facts. However, the facts are indeed filtering through.
This case bodes ill for the freedom of the press in France, which has been heavily crushed by France’s oligarchs who wish to control the narratives.
France has to start defending the freedom of expression within France or the motto of the country (LIBERTÉ) is meaningless.

Mortimer nails it. The cowardice, avarice — hey, can’t be losing our cushy network executive positions because the local imam complains, can we? — and willful blindness that eventually culminated in France, and much else of Europe, prostrating itself before the Third Reich is once more afoot. (But of course it goes much farther back than that, doesn’t it?) But the general populace will soon begin to feel the effects of those facts in ways even beyond that which has caused so much disturbance, and how soon will they demand to know why they were withheld access to those facts by those whose responsibility it was to alert them to the danger?

Totally agree! This comment of yours is superb. Says it all.

Testing testing. I have been unable to post comments for the last 3 days. This test is from a public Wi-Fi versus my Home Office Wi-Fi. Anybody else having problems???

Looks like it posted. Anybody have any suggestions so that I can post from my Home Office Wi-Fi???

Yes, I’ve had about 3 incident’s in recent times where ‘somebody’, somewhere, come hell or high water, have made damn sure that I was not going to get to post on this site what I’ve had to say at the time. That’s just the times we’re living in, they haven’t got much longer to play their stupid games though.

A VPN? The Opera browser has one built-in.

I haven’t had any trouble, James–sorry to hear that you have.
While you are able to post, why don’t you contact Marc Louis (tech questions at the “Contact Us” box). He should be able to help.

Maybe you are being restricted by some net-guardian such as Net Nanny which has been listening to SPLC. Many public systems are censoring the internet. I was not able to see a genealogical website because the word ‘DEATH’ and ‘DIED’ was in the vocabulary. Children are apparently not to be exposed to the words ‘death, dead, died’. Nor could I see any article that had the word ‘abortion’ in it … even as a parenthetical and allusory sense of the word! This is thought control at the highest level.

During the past several weeks, I have had some issues where I write my comment, but it doesn’t appear. Instead, an error box pops up and a few times, the entire site has become “unavailable,’ and I can’t ” the page can’t be reached.”
One of those times happened that I could not post anything for several hours after first attempting. But, I have not gone to another location, just kept trying and most of the time, have gotten through..

It is clear from the phone messages with his wife that Mickaël Harpon was at the very least a *SELF-DIRECTED JIHADIST*. He may turn out to have been affiliated with a terrorist group and even under their command. But that is speculation.
SELF-DIRECTED jihad has been recommended by many jihad-terror groups.

Those in positions of authority, do not wish to have anyone tell the Truth, just in case they decide not to do so.
If anyone “does their job” and tells the Truth, then that is unacceptable. If the Truth is to be told, the authorities want to be the ones to break it in such as way that no one in the public cries for change and protection, or in the moslim enclaves, notices and throws a fit.
If the public finds out in a public way, this makes waves for the authorities from the public. and on top of that, the moslims all throw fits and demand things…and yell the ‘phobia’ thingy and scare the authorities.

I’ve been getting my posts regularly at my email address, as I subscribe, but something odd has happened. They are being transmitted through a third party’s site. I didn’t request this and while I have no particular objection to it — the site is “friendly” — I wonder how and why it’s happening. Don’t know about comments as I don’t always check back to see if they’re posted. Will do so in future.

Boy, there sure are a lot of posts this time around about the media being restricted, or politicians punished for speaking the truth. It’s as if sharia already owns the media outlets and governments in some places at least!

France: Journalist who found that Paris jihadi was convert to Islam sanctioned for saying it could be jihad attack

Grotesque restriction of freedom of speech on Clement Weill-Raynal for daring to tell the truth.
And this is not just happening in France:

On both sides of the pond, the ruling globalist elite considers their worldview as void of ideology; it’s just the ‘new’ normal, perfectly normal. (We) all come to believe that it’s the order of the day. Most citizens and media don’t think of this ideology as an ideology. Thus judges and their courts rule out the ‘normal’ outlook.—Just like in the gone Soviet Union ppl who see it otherwise must be sick in their heads. Like the French journalist.

Everything depends on the composition of complete sentences. What did he say about “the hypothesis of an Islamist attack”? Did he endorse it? Was it a relevant possibility to consider? We cannot judge an event by
sound-bites.

again someone being punished for telling the truth that runs contrary to a twisted ideology….
and along those lines, I have been put in Twitless jail for telling the truth and standing up for my beliefs and standards.
Yes I appealed but do not expect the Libtard’s of twitter to capitulate… I wonder if there are any really good lawyers out there that would take a huge lawsuit pro bono ?
