“Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz said authorities had opened a murder investigation, for the moment ruling out a terrorism inquiry.”
“Government spokeswoman Sibeth Ndiaye said on France Info today that Paris prosecutors have decided to open a murder probe over the events ‘which are not falling under terrorism at this stage of the investigation’. The spokeswoman told Franceinfo radio today the possibility of a terror motive ‘has clearly not been ruled out’. She said: ‘But it is important to emphasise – you are not a terrorist because you are Muslim and converting to Islam is not an automatic sign of radicalisation. The facts need to be looked at carefully. We do not have any indication that the perpetrator was radicalised.'”
Right: you are not a terrorist because you are Muslim and converting to Islam is not an automatic sign of radicalisation. Yet there have been numerous converts to Islam who have turned to jihad violence. Here are just a few recent examples of converts to Islam engaged in jihad terror plotting:
Missouri: Muslim US Army vet targeted military bases, federal buildings, Wall Street for jihad massacres September 24, 2019
Texas: Teen converts to Islam, says he hates America and “it was Allah’s will to turn him into a killing machine” September 21, 2019
NYC ISIS sniper “lives by Sharia. He doesn’t believe he has any obligation to abide by the American legal system.” September 13, 2019
Australia: Man converts to Islam, says of Christians “I’ve bought a scimitar and intend to cut their heads off” September 5, 2019
So in this case, you are not a terrorist because you are Muslim and converting to Islam is not an automatic sign of radicalisation, but if you are a convert to Islam who takes a knife and slaughters four people, might you be a terrorist?
French interior minister Christophe Castaner said: “There were no warning signs. This man was known inside the IT department, he worked alongside his colleagues and never presented any behavioural difficulties.” “However, there were reports that Harpon had recently been called in by his boss to explain why he refused to interact with women.”
That was a warning sign. Probably his refusal to interact with women had to do with the Sharia prohibition on interaction between men and women who are not married to each other. But Castaner almost certainly doesn’t know that, and that is one aspect of the problem here.
“Muslim-convert Paris knifeman’s arrested wife says he ‘became deranged and heard voices’ the night before attack in which he slaughtered four police colleagues – as it emerges hero officer who shot him dead had only joined force a week earlier,” by Tim Stickings, Mailonline, October 4, 2019 (thanks to Mick):
The Paris knifeman claimed to have ‘heard voices’ during a deranged episode the night before he murdered four of his police colleagues, according to his wife.
Michael Harpon was shot in the head yesterday by an officer who had just joined the force, after slaughtering three men and one woman with a ceramic knife in a 30-minute frenzy at the police headquarters in Paris.
His wife Iham was arrested hours later and told police that Harpon had become ‘incoherent’ and was displaying ‘unusual and agitated behaviour’ on Wednesday night before waking ‘abruptly’ yesterday morning, BFM reported.
Police are today examining whether Harpon, described as a ‘very quiet person’ by neighbours, held a grudge against his colleagues, amid claims that he had clashed with his boss over his behaviour towards women.
Harpon, a 45-year-old computer scientist from Martinique, had converted to Islam last year but a search of his flat in a Paris suburb near the Charles de Gaulle airport last night found no initial signs of radicalisation.
Investigators are combing his seized computer equipment today for clues to his motive. AFP correspondents saw investigators – faces concealed by balaclavas – lead a hooded man and a woman from his house late last night.
Government spokeswoman Sibeth Ndiaye said on France Info today that Paris prosecutors have decided to open a murder probe over the events ‘which are not falling under terrorism at this stage of the investigation’.
‘We do not have any indication that the perpetrator was radicalised.’
According to Le Parisien, Harpon had left no suicide note and there was no claim of allegiance to an extremist group.
His computer and telephone have been seized and will now be examined, while Harpon’s brother was also reportedly arrested.
Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz said authorities had opened a murder investigation, for the moment ruling out a terrorism inquiry.
Last night anti-terror agencies were believed to be monitoring the investigation but not directly involved in it.
‘An investigation has been launched into a grudge the assailant may have held against his colleagues, but terrorism cannot be ruled out,’ a source said.
Harpon and his wife, who both had hearing difficulties, had married in 2014 and had two children.
Giving evidence with the help of a sign language interpreter, she said Harpon had ‘heard voices’ during an apparent deranged episode on Wednesday night.
Union officials yesterday described Harpon as a trusted, long-serving employee who had full security clearance and had never caused problems before.
French interior minister Christophe Castaner said the man had worked for Paris police since 2003.
‘There were no warning signs,’ Mr Castaner said. ‘This man was known inside the IT department, he worked alongside his colleagues and never presented any behavioural difficulties.’
However, there were reports that Harpon had recently been called in by his boss to explain why he refused to interact with women.
Christophe Crepin of the Police Up In Anger movement told French radio that the assailant had experienced issues with his supervisor.
‘I know there were tensions between him and his direct supervisor,’ he said. ‘I do not think this is a terrorist act.’…

When will the German Leftards drop this act? They are using Islam as a wedge to overrule conservative Germans. The Leftards must realize by now that Islam is a competing ideology versus Leftism.
Michael Copeland says
Harpon’s wife said he had become ‘incoherent’ and was displaying ‘unusual and agitated behaviour’, and ‘heard voices’.
Really?
Why did she not warn his employers? Or ask for help?
Or is this just a blind to nourish the “mental issues” excuse?
mortimer says
Muslims know that if they use the ‘mental’ excuse, that the leaders of the dirty kufaar will rush to virtue-signal. How the jihadists must laugh!
Jaladhi says
He killed four people because they were non-Muslims and he is commanded by his allah/prophet to non-Muslims. If this is not terrorism then what? Oh I get it, it was his religious duty – how can you call it terrorism!! French morons have a self destruction wish which the Muslims will gleefully fulfill!
mortimer says
Yes, I believe Harpon considered his action jihad directed by Allah. That is the key point. He was bring the kingdom of Allah to earth by protesting the breach of Sharia law gender segregation. He showed them that Muslims mean business, didn’t he?
James Lincoln says
Jaladhi says,
“He killed four people because they were non-Muslims and he is commanded by his allah/prophet to non-Muslims. If this is not terrorism then what?”
According to Merriam-Webster the definition of terrorism is:
“The unlawful use or threat of violence especially against the state or the public as a politically motivated means of attack or coercion.”
And Islam is a ideological/political/religious ideology.
Yes, this IS terrorism.
Phil Copson says
“…wife says he ‘became deranged and heard voices’…”
———————————————————————
No,sweetheart – let’s get this the right way round, shall we ? – he heard voices – yours, maybe the iman’s, Awlaki etc, going right back to Mohammed’s – and then became deranged: cause and effect.
Interesting that the French authorities thought it worthy of announcing that they were opening a murder enquiry – so four police are murdered inside their own head-quarters, and the “authorities” were considering NOT opening a murder enquiry…?

Mental *gymnastics*.
mortimer says
If the French police knew for a fact that Harpon was radicalized, they would know by now and they might conceal it. The police have a right to deceive the people whom they are investigating. I believe they are doing that now.
Of course, every time that Muslims selectively attack the DIRTY KUFAAR, it is an act of JIHAD. In this case, for the moment, it appears to be an act of *SELF-DIRECTED* jihad. The police do not see that Harpon was acting under instructions from someone else. However, Harpon was acting under his OWN instructions and the instructions in the Sira, hadiths and Koran … to terrorize the disbelievers and slit their throats. That’s why he used a knife.
In his mind, Harpon saw his desperate action as a call from Allah to enforce the Sharia law segregation of the genders. He believed it required an act of jihad … to ‘change things with his hands’ as Mohammed commanded Muslims to do. Taking action to challenge the KAFIR world is per se an act of jihad.
Ray Jarman says
Mortimer, As you have posted many times the quotes from the Qur’an such as “Kill them wherever you find them.” (Quran 2:191) “Kill them wherever you find them.” (Qur’an 4:89) “Kill the polytheists wherever you find them.” (Qur’an 9:5) “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks.” (Qur’an 47:4), I don’t see how anyone with the IQ of seventy could not understand that Harpon was participating in personal jihad. It will sadly take another 9/11 tragedy to bring the French, Germans, Swedes, Americans, Canadians and other welcome to our homes, here are our necks and take these knifes nations before those in leadership positions will admit to their error.

We need a new name to explain this “Burka Curtain”. Like the Iron Curtain that Winston Churchill coined.
It was an act of Burkacide? Allahcide? By an Allahist? Islamacide?
The for-thought of having a ceramic knife ready to go? Educational for me that such a knife even exists.
You’d think that the security services would come down on the manufacturers – for what other reason than this kind of event are such things made? Seems a small step to make a ceramic gun and bullets. Considering the intent, are there extra legal penalties for possession of such a thing?
tgusa says
They have been terrorized in to not calling these things terrorism and therefore it is terrorism. This is exactly how you get more of this. Looks like we wont have to worry about the pc lefties in the future as they will all be dead by their own idiotic inaction.

I wonder if he had converted recently to Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity or had become a Sikh or Hindu if we would have seen such behaviour from a man who, according to police sources, had no mental or psychiatric illness.
It seems highly unlikely that he would deliberately use a ceramic knife to get through security systems if there wasn’t premeditation and deliberation of planning? Not the knee jerk reaction to “hearing voices” the previous night suggested by his wife.
There is more to this than meets the eye and french authorities are not being honest.

It doesn’t matter what you call it — “murder” and/or “terrorism” if he acted alone. If others were involved in the actual act, in planning, in supplying weaponry and/or encouraging there have been laws broken and the punishments would differ.
Now, if he acted because of the dictates of his religion, as seems likely to be the case here, it’s a slightly different situation. When it comes to converts to islam one might ask: what sort of individual would convert to islam in the first place? He was likely a disaster waiting for a place to happen in any case.

And this is the point where we are nowadays – the obvious must be stated to avoid potentially deadly cries of “islamophobia” or “bigotry”. Of course, in this specific case, evidence points to the perp being “radicalized” into practising mainstream islamic tenets.

Where was her statistical table showing the number of converts to Islam and the number of deaths they have caused within a year of conversion in comparison to the number of deaths caused by those converts of other religions? It seems that either they don’t have statistics in France or zero is not considered a statistical value.
