Would Amy McGrath attend a dinner hosted by a group that opposed jihad terror? Of course not. Would she attend a dinner hosted by a Nazi group? Again, of course not. But she didn’t hesitate to attend a dinner hosted by CAIR. How is that different from attending a Nazi function? CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.
McGrath is a Democrat, but there are plenty of Republican Useful Idiots as well. That any American politician of any political camp would appear at any function of this unsavory group speaks to the confusion of our age, and of how casual U.S. officials have become in their acceptance of hatred for the country they are supposed to be serving.
“Amy McGrath Attended Dinner Hosted by Radical Muslim Group CAIR,” by Brent Scher, Washington Free Beacon, October 22, 2019:
As Democrat Amy McGrath was laying the groundwork for her Senate bid, she attended a dinner hosted by the Kentucky chapter of a radical anti-Israel organization that has been tied to funding of global terror networks.
The Kentucky chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, known best as CAIR, posted multiple pictures of McGrath in attendance at its annual dinner on May 11, 2019. She is currently featured in the main photo of the group’s Facebook page.
McGrath launched her long-shot bid to unseat Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell in early July. Her first filing shows, however, that the campaign was already in swing at the time of the May dinner, with staff on payroll and large contributions already filling its coffer.
The McGrath campaign defended the CAIR dinner as an “interfaith event.”
“Amy attended an interfaith event joined by a rabbi and a Baptist preacher and sponsored by the University of Kentucky,” McGrath’s campaign manager Mark Nickolas said.
The Muslim advocacy group has well-documented ties to terrorist groups such as Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator by the U.S. Department of Justice after an investigation into how American charity networks were used to provide material support to Hamas. In 2014, the United Arab Emirates officially designated CAIR a terrorist organization…
McGrath’s involvement in the CAIR event puts her in the same circles as anti-Semitic Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who was caught by the Free Beacon attending a private fundraiser held by CAIR earlier this year. It was at the CAIR fundraiser that Omar used the phrase “some people did something” in regards to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” Omar said. (CAIR was actually established in 1994, its own website states.)
McGrath’s failed 2018 campaign received a $1,000 contribution from Omar….

Let us remember that Amy McGrath served honorably for 20 years in the US Marine Corps as a pioneering female fighter pilot, participating in 89 combat missions against al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
Surely this courageous woman attended the inter-faith CAIR dinner not to promote Jihad, but instead to honor President Obama’s legacy of support for American immigrants from the developing world, especially Muslim-Americans who suffered from a backlash after 9/11.
“In the wake of 9/11,” said Pres. Obama, “my meetings with Arab- and Pakistani-Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging.”
As a Senator, Ms. McGrath would empathize with President Obama’s moral commitment to remember “that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly.” Leaders of CAIR were often invited to the Obama White House, for the Democratic Party recognized, the the President’s words, that “they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
Ms. McGrath is a graduate of the US Naval Academy as were such illustrious American statesmen at former President Jimmy Carter and the late Senator John McCain.

I appreciate and thank Amy McGrath for her service in the US Marine Corp. Her service in the United States armed services does not change who Hamas, Hizballah and CAIR are and what they represent. As far a interfaith events, they are a sucker punch to all who attend -Jews and Christians alike. I wonder if any present asked if any of the Jews or Christians were considered kafirs or if someone could explain what Al Walaa wal Baraa means.

Well, Murad, just love how you detailed your assessment, with copious facts and sophisticated analysis. I mean you pretty much covered it all in your 9:07 P.M. post above and I can’t think of a thing to add to it.

Count me in, gravenimage.
And as to Amy McGrath, I simply can’t understand how any Marine who with all sincerity served America and esteems America could possibly be a Democrat. Fifty years ago, surely. Arguably even twenty-five years ago. But not now.

Pretty inexplicable, Wellington–I agree.
Infidel says
I would like Senator McConnell to be primaried, since he’s been a major factor in slowwalking a lot of the Trump agenda. But if that doesn’t happen, I don’t see KY voting for McGrath
I wish another Rand Paul would emerge for that seat
Wellington says
Infidel: I am not a big fan of McConnell but in one area he has been very helpful to Trump, i.e., not impeding at all, actually very often being quite useful, in getting some 150 appointees by Trump on the federal bench, whether at the District, Circuit or Supreme Court (2) level.
As I wrote as far back as 2015-2016 here at JW, just about the worst thing that could happen if Hillary was elected President would be all the leftist judges she would have the power to appoint, judges who would agree with her many far-left positions, including making a distinction between free speech and hate speech, which is a legal recipe for the ending of free speech. A huge number of judges are now on the federal bench who have sundry antithetical views to leftist notions of what the Constitution means. Dodged a bullet here and McConnell deserves a good bit of credit for this.
Infidel says
Wellington, agree on the judiciary, but the Senate does have to do more than that, from confirming all Trump’s appointments to fine-tuning and passing other legislative work. And by legislative, I mean things like border security, immigration reform, healthcare, infrastructure and so on… not the Russia hoax or the Ukraine hoax or so on

I agree that many post from Mosher are just plain ……for lack of words….just plain DUMB. As to the former Marine McGrath….well I think the Anchor just fell off the Globe on the Marine logo ……..Just pandering for the muslim vote…..Any candidate who is supported by any Muslim group would leave many questions in my mind. Especially CSIR.

Wellington,
Agree, Amy McGrath, a retired US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel, was an exemplary officer and served with distinction.
But I do not like her politics – running as a Democrat in 2020.
Best wishes!

I don’t understand why Tulsi Gabbard is with the Dems either. They don’t want her.
Wellington says
I agree, mortimer. She is a throwback to the Democratic Party of old which essentially no longer exists and thus she really should be a Republican.
gravenimage says
True, Mortimer and Wellington. I think it is because she is from Hawaii, which is one of the bluest states in the union.
Infidel says
Yeah, on foreign policy, she’s more compatible w/ Trump and Rand Paul. Although on Defense, she’s pretty compatible w/ her party’s pacifist wing.
I do think that in addition to being from Hawaii, there is a perception that the GOP is a Christian party, which may be why she, being a Hindu, doesn’t want to identify w/ them. I actually believe that her perfect role would be ambassador to India
mortimer says
My take on Amy McGrath visiting Muslim Brotherhood hangouts is that she knows who they are. I think military officers are far better informed about Islamic doctrine than the general public and politicians, but they don’t say all they know because to understand jihad and speak about it, would be career-ending for an officer in the current politically correct hysteria. Retired admirals and generals speak out forcefully about the jihad doctrine and warn those who will listen.
James Lincoln says
mortimer,
Good points. Publicly stating negative views regarding Islam is career ending for military officers.
I was serving on active duty Navy during 9/11. That very day, we were told from “higher authority” that the attacks likely involved people of different religious faiths and to not generalize against all Muslims.
Retired and prior service officers, like John Guandolo, are allowed to speak the truth…
Wellington says
Thanks for that very specific piece of information, James, concerning what you and others in the military were told on 9/11. My God, political correctness couldn’t even be put on hold that very day when, a la Omar, “some people did something.”
The continued excuse making for Islam is Orwellian in nature. It bespeaks to not “the better angels of our nature, ” a la Lincoln, but rather to the pathetic element in mankind which so many writers (William Shakespeare and Mark Twain come foremost to mind) have addressed through the centuries.
And thanks again for your service, James. Those who serve deserve to be told the truth about Islam by the higher brass in the military and their civilian bosses. To date, unforgivably this has not occurred though Trump did get it down correctly when, still a candidate for the Presidency, he said in March of 2016, “I think Islam hates us.” Damn right.
mortimer says
“Moshe” speaks of jihad as if it is 100% kinetic. JIHAD CAN BE VERBAL too, and this taqiyya-filled banquet will be 100% VERBAL JIHAD.
Moshe, the purpose of political Islam is to remove the human rights and civil liberties of women and all other KAFIRS. Did you know you are a KAFIR, Moshe?

“Surely this courageous woman attended the inter-faith CAIR dinner not to promote Jihad”
“Surely” – i.e., “it must be so because I believe it to be so”.
“but instead to honor President Obama’s legacy of support for American immigrants from the developing world”
How many dinner hosted by, for example, Brazilians did she attended?
“especially Muslim-Americans who suffered from a backlash after 9/11.”
Did they? Where and how? In any case, 9/11 was 18 years ago, and its victims, unlike the perpetrators, were non-muslims.
““In the wake of 9/11,” said Pres. Obama, “my meetings with Arab- and Pakistani-Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging.” ”
The neighbours of the San Bernardino murderers noticed strange goings and comings – they said nothing for fear of being considered racists. Obama must be proud! Could a couple hard stares and FBI questioning prevented that murderous attack?
“Leaders of CAIR were often invited to the Obama White House, for the Democratic Party recognized, the the President’s words, that “they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something”
Apparently it means nothing to all the “American”muslims who joined ISIS, and planned and acted terror attacks on US soil… And no amount of “specific assurances” will change that – exactly what were those “specific assurances” that were not available to non-muslims?
mortimer says
Good points from Angemon. At a banquet such as the one under discussion there isn’t a single DOSE of reality. There is no discussion of terrorism.
Above all, why the heck is there no discussion by Muslims of the fact that 15% of Muslims support jihad-terrorist groups and that 65% want a caliphate-dictatorship and Sharia law?
The main question for Muslims is ‘why are you doing nothing to stop jihad?’ We should ask that all the time.
Muslims are in fact responsible for the jihad by adhering to the Muslim system. In WWII, Germans all worked in the Nazi system, though only 10% were fully committed party members.
Ordinary Muslims don’t get the sermon ‘Let’s kill the dirty kufaar’, just as ordinary Germans never heard ‘Let’s exterminate people of other races’. They heard more uplifting messages about helping others (their own kind only) and improving the economy. The real aim of Nazism and Islamism is world dominance and that does arrive without overcoming resistance.
Amy McGrath attended a ‘verbal-jihad’ dinner whose sole purpose was to OVERCOME POLITICAL RESISTANCE to ISLAMIC SUPREMACISM.

Who said this, to whom, when, why and what have we ever done about it? Would you consider this statement to be contrary to our Constitution, our way of life, a danger to our National/Homeland Security and the preservation of our Constitution? Would you think these are words of an enemy? Surely, both the House and the Senate studied this but where are the reports?
“The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every musselman [muslim] who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.” http://founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/01-09-02-0315
This statement was a part of a March 28, 1786, letter from John Adams and Thomas Jefferson to John Jay, the United States Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Continental Congress, concerning their conversation with Tripoli’s to London, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman as to why his pirates/terrorists hijacked our merchant ships, stole the ships and cargo while holding the sailors for ransom.
If you are afraid to go directly to the weblink just Google March 28, 1786, letter from John Adams and Thomas Jefferson to John Jay.
Why are we failing to mention the obvious issues in the 1786 letter that still exists today? Here are the main points in 1786; are they the same today with the Muslim Brotherhood in America and their plan they wrote to destroy us?

The way I view it is our national government allowed weasels in to our national barnyard. Weasels, being weasels, set about attacking our hen houses. In response to the weasels attacking our hen houses our national government launched an attack on distant bands of weasels. Now, those in our national government and those seeking office are sitting down to dinner with the weasels within. Somehow I just cant put that puzzle together and get the pieces to fit. I guess that the lesson here is, no matter which way you slice it, a wrong-headed plan will always be a wrong-headed plan.

“Interfaith event'” says McGrath. But CAIR is not promoting religion, but politics. CAIR is clearly not a group that is proselytizing, but they are going after political targets. The best way not to become a target of CAIR is to become one of their useful idiots.
Amy McGrath is now a useful idiot of CAIR. Will she ever criticize them for anything? I won’t hold my breath.
