Thousands of foreign Islamic State supporters are held in Kurdish camps in Syria, and while most EU countries refuse to repatriate them, Kosovo is bringing them back. A picture speaks a thousand words: the Pristina airport in Kosovo “was shut down to the public when the 32 women, 74 children and four men were brought back” to the country; then they were transported on “dimmed buses shortly thereafter.” That way the public couldn’t see them. “Men were sent to the high-security prison Podujeve; women and children for medical and psychological examination in the Vranidol arrival center.”
The males were detained, but their jihadist wives were relatively free; their children will be among other Western children. As reported previously by Jihad Watch about a group of Islamic State children:
These children are likely to be…conditioned Islamic State little war machines. Authorities have no idea about whether it is even possible to deprogram them or to integrate them, and they can offer no assurances to the public that these children will not seek out jihadists within their own community. Known as “Cubs of the Caliphate,” Islamic State children are trained to “use weapons and sent out in combat. Counter-terror experts are concerned about the risks posed by such vulnerable children.”
Kosovo is of concern to free nations. Three years ago, an Islamic State general from Kosovo who blew up a hostage and decapitated another returned to Europe in disguise as a refugee and brought with him 400 jihadists. Ex-NATO soldier Lavdrim Muhaxheri and his men were among thousands who fled after the Islamic State lost its caliphate in Syria.
This is what open-door immigration brings: unvetted jihadist infiltrators who have committed deeds unimaginable to Westerners, deeds against which the actions of the most dangerous criminals in maximum security prisons pale by comparison. Yet these jihadists are roaming among the unsuspecting citizenry, welcomed by globalists who push for open-door policies.
“According to analysts, Kosovo became one of the largest per-capita contributors of European fighters to ISIS, and the government considers potential attacks to be a key national security threat.” Yet the government still puts its citizens at risk.
“’Islamic State’ returnees in Kosovo guided back into society,” Deutsche Welle, October 2. 2019:
Thousands of foreign ‘IS’ supporters are held in Kurdish camps in Syria. Most European countries refuse to repatriate them, but Kosovo is bringing its citizens home. DW met with one female returnee under house arrest.
Mensur Hoti chain smokes. In a cafe in the Kosovar capital, Pristina, the country’s director of public security reveals the secret operation that took place in the early morning hours of April 20. Hoti was responsible then when a chartered plane landed in Pristina under cover of darkness. On board: 110 Kosovar citizens — returnees from the so-called Islamic State (IS), who had last lived as prisoners in Kurdish camps in northern Syria. Not even the relatives of the returnees knew anything.
Return from Syria at night
Coordinating the complex logistics of the repatriation left him sleepless for days, Hoti recalls, taking a sip from his coffee cup. His country has no official relations with the Kurdish contingent of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which controls a large area in northern Syria. US forces, which are allied with the Kurdish-led military coalition and have stationed troops in the area, made Kosovo’s repatriation of the former IS adherents possible.
The Pristina airport was shut down to the public when the 32 women, 74 children and four men were brought back to Kosovo in April and transported on dimmed buses shortly thereafter. Men were sent to the high-security prison Podujeve; women and children for medical and psychological examination in the Vranidol arrival center.
“We should have in mind that in the last months they suffered a lot. They were in the camps with a lot of problems: No food, no hygiene, and other issues,” Hoti reports. But the hardest part of working with the IS returnees, he says, is still ahead for Europe’s youngest state: “The ideology part — it will be a challenging process to deal with all of them.”
The caliphate of the mind
This becomes clear at the meeting with Vlora. Like the other Kosovo returnees, she has been back home for almost half a year. Vlora is an assumed name — she cannot reveal her real one. Like all other returnees, she is under surveillance and remains under house arrest on her parents’ farm in a small Kosovar farming village. She sits in the shade of an oak tree as roosters crow, a cat roams around, and sunflowers sway in the wind. The scene looks idyllic. But the broken windows of her parents’ house bear witness to poverty.
The other women in the family wear airy, colorful skirts. But not Vlora. All you can see of her is what is visible under a narrow slit for her eyes. The rest of the slight 22-year-old disappears under a black veil that covers her from head to toe. During the conversation, she constantly rubs her hands….

A Kosovo woman was angry on me because I told her what is in the Quran about women, she said I read a fake Quran 😉

Hi G. Polite response TRULY intended here. I noticed you disagreed with a post I made – see above. My opinion on many Muslim women, is that they are affected by Stockholm Syndrome, from a psychological perspective. Islam treats women like dirt – and, yet, in the West it’s always Muslim women who take their own daughters to get FGM, or who want to promote World Hijab Day, in the West, when Iranian women were protesting about them.

That’s why it’s good to have a koran with Arabic on one page and the translation on another. Then the subh uman IQ can SEE the truth.

Oh, good! Now Kosovo can become the jihadi capital of Europe, exporting jihad to all EU countries! How nice. How thoughtful of the jihadist politicians in Kosovo! They will soon have an EXPLOSIVE situation in Kosovo thanks to their ungrateful returnees.
And so, a Kosovar realist declares that the hardest part of dealing with the JIHADISTS is ahead … “The ideology part — it will be a challenging process to deal with all of them.” No kidding.
Yes, a massive deprogramming of Muslims worldwide is the only answer. Western governments should fund and develop this deprogramming in top secret thinktanks that will specialize in the critical, scientific, scholarly debunking of Islam. Most of this work has already been done. It’s now a matter of assembling it and presenting it in the right way. It needs cinematographers, writers and trainers to create ways to distribute this material worldwide, so that all Muslims know about it. This will require a large group like Bletchley Park or the OSS that will understand the code of Islam and defeat it. Islam is actually at war with all non-Muslim societies and a ‘brotherhood’ of deprogrammers who understand the Muslim Brotherhood should create and distribute countermeasures to the propaganda of the Muslim Brotherhood as well as that of the Deobandist jihadist preachers of Asia.
Yes, we can do it, but we must begin to do it using Western secret agencies … just like Muslim governments are doing at this moment!
James Lincoln says
mortimer,
According to Breitbart:
https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2019/05/19/uighurs-condemn-china-forcing-muslims-to-eat-pork-during-ramadan/
“Since 2017, Beijing has intensified its Muslim crackdown, destroying their worshipping sites and forcing them into “concentration camps” that the Chinese government claims are “vocational” centers aimed at combating religious extremisms, ethnic separatism, and violent terrorism.”
Apparently China is taking an extreme approach to deprogramming – and it is INVOLUNTARY. I’m not sure how effective it is, but nothing like that could be done in Western countries, for obvious reasons.
So my question is this: how effective would VOLUNTARY deprogramming be in Western countries – using the resources that you have outlined.
Again, just looking for information-I’m not trying to be a smartass…
KWJ says
Voluntary deprogramming? Geesh, a disturbing term. What would it matter if there are Islamic countries still churning out devotees of Islam? What has our government done about such countries?
It does little good when our education system is funded and infiltrated by such countries and negative or balanced critiques are pilloried as “hate.” Even ex-Muslims have been called Islamophobes.
Why do less people identify as Christians per PEW polls and the like?
Deradicalization programs for terrorists aren’t working well. Assimilation isn’t great in Europe and we have so many mosques in the US now. A big part of the problem is us-the media, academia, government. Just as atheists have had free reign in the US, so must ex-Muslims or anybody.
The Chinese also come down on Christians and any religion. They are no role model. Forcing people to eat pork is cruel.
Unless the above changes, defanging Islam will be a very slow progression, even slower than Christianity’s defanging.
The Islamic governments need to be convinced that Islam has retarded their progress, that are nearly as bad as China, (communistic control) and stop using Islam as a means of war. As long as they think that Muslims should be controlled and eschew the freedom of religion and self-expression as in the West, “deprogramming” won’t work. In fact, what they are calling Islamic revival is getting worse. Heck, you can’t even get millions of Muslims to acknowledge what the Qur’an is about and what it says and they go into a defensive mode.

Mortimer, I know you have said before that Muslims don’t know anything about Islam, and would leave it en mass if they knew, but *surely* you don’t think that Jihadists are ignorant about Islam? I wish they were–instead, they are willing to murder for it.

Very little of this is secret on the part of Muslims–it is openly taught in Mosques and Madrasses.
Giacomo Latta says
There won’t be any problems as long as they have the right mix of Sunnis, Shia, Salafists and Wahhabis.
Infidel says
Wahhabis are Sunnis – of the Hanbali school of Islamic jurisprudence. Something that would be an asterisk if not for the fact that the one place they control is Saudi Arabia (and Qatar and Bahrein). Salafists are an invention of Western analysts who don’t wanna use the term ‘Muslims’: ‘Salafists’ call themselves Islamic, just like all the others. And they follow Hanafi, Maliki and Shafi’i laws as well.
Ideal is a country like Syria, where there are now enough Shi’ites (Alawites) to suppress the Sunnis (backed by Iran and Russia), or Iraq, where 60% is Shia, but rest are split b/w Sunni Arabs and Kurds. So that no one can have an absolute lock on power.
Giacomo Latta says
My point was that, in the absence of Jews, Christians and the usual targets, muslims of all stripes would not have to look long and hard to find fodder for their scimitars as defined in the koran.

While given special treatment, returning (and dead) jihadis are not lionized as they would be Gaza. The truly, actually, really moderate Islam practiced by the mostly Albanian Muslims in Kosovo will probably reabsorb the jihadis. Of all the countries where Jihadis probably pose little or no threat to the public on return Kosovo tops the list. The secrecy surrounding their return has many possible explanations. Given Kosovo’s history of tolerance it might have been simply to show respect to the small number of non-Muslim citizens and keeping peace with them. Of course this tolerance as well as the widespread poverty have been exploited by Jihadis since that is what they do, animals.
Infidel says
The Serbs would beg to differ w/ your claim that the Kosovo Albanians are tolerant. In fact, during the Kosovo war w/ Serbia, they even ended up in conflict w/ Macedonia (now North Macedonia) over territory. Ironically, the Serbs, who were accused of being the hegemonic bullies, had no conflicts w/ North Macedonia
Janice Mermikli says
No, it was never Macedonia. Macedonia is a northern province of Greece. Tito tried to hijack the Macedonian identity and apply it to a mostly Slav province of Yugoslavia.
The Greek government objected and a temporary compromise of Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM, for short) was adopted.
FYROM was forced to remove the Sun of Vergina (a symbol which dates back to the Hellenic world of the 6th to 2nd century BC, when there were no Slavs in the area, as they arrived in the 7th century A.D.) from its flags. This was at the Agreement of Prespis, when the name North Macedonia was settled on by the Greek government but opposed by the majority of the population.
Nevertheless, Greece has become tired of the cultural theft by its northern neighbour, not only in terms of nomenclature and symbols but also the confected “Macedonian” language, because real Macedonians speak Greek.
We call “North Macedonia” Skopje, after its capital.
The Hellenic world has over 4,000 years of recorded history and was the cradle of European civilization. Not even the (later) Romans have given so much to the world. History, which their ancestors did so much to make and shape (the word “history” itself is, of course, Greek, as is “Europe”), matters to modern Greeks.
Infidel says
I don’t disagree w/ you, but I was simply using the terminology in use at the time: at the time, it was not called ‘North Macedonia’. Incidentally, was that area a part of Alexander’s empire, even if his capital was at Pella, in Greek Macedonia?
gravenimage says
Kosovo is a Muslim country–there is no reason to believe that its accepting back Islamic State Jihadsts is a sign of “moderation”.

I am a patriotic American and I agree with the very impressive Carl Schurz, a German immigrant to America in the 1850’s and who became a highly distinguished American citizen, serving as a general for the Union in the Civil War, America’s Minister to Spain, Senator from Missouri and Secretary of the Interior in President Rutherford B. Hayes’ cabinet.
Schurz said about his adopted country: “My country right or wrong. If right to be kept right, if wrong to be put right.” Well, America was wrong in recognizing an independent Kosovo, as I have asserted several times over the years here at JW.
Schurz has long served as a major guide for me respecting how to be patriotic and yet assiduous as well about the truth, even if it means criticizing the country you love. As here.
James Lincoln says
Wellington,
You certainly are a patriotic American judging from your extremely well written posts here at Jihad Watch. And you’re certainly right about an independent Kosovo.
Yes, it’s certainly fine to criticize the country that you love – in order to improve it. Criticize to find new and better ways to do things – and improve the lives of all citizens.
Best wishes.
Infidel says
Kosovo has been a bipartisan failure of foreign policy in Washington. Or more precisely, the policy towards Serbia has been. In an attempt to look woke, both the Clinton and Bush XLIII administrations opposed, and even went to war w/ Serbia, first prying out Bosnia, and then Kosovo from their hands. And ironically, the Kosovo case resembles the Uighur case in this aspect: most Muslim countries do not recognize Kosovo as an independent state (and that includes the Palestinians, of all groups), while the only ones that do recognize Kosovo are Western countries w/ no clue about what they are. (Israel has been an exception in this regard).
And now Kosovo is welcoming back ISIS fighters, and since they’re a part of ‘Europe’, those fighters will be free to move around in the EU. While officially the EU is divided on whether to recognize Kosovo or not (the only ones taking Serbia’s side are Greece, Romania, Slovakia and Cyprus), in reality, most of them do. So on what grounds are they gonna refuse to take in these ‘Kosovars’?
Bosnia too has been a very unreliable ‘ally’, despite the support they got from the West. In fact, in the 2000s, when a Bosniak shot up a Salt Lake City mall and was killed, he received a hero’s funeral back in Bosnia.
Serbia is the country that has been the most horribly treated by the West. Despite all the hostilities, there have been no terrorist acts against the West by Serbia – even though they are ex Communist and had all the ingredients needed to launch a terror war, if they wanted. When the West demanded that Kosovo by pried out of Belgrade’s control, the Serbs then asked that Srpska – the ethnic Serbian majority parts of Bosnia contiguous w/ Serbia – be handed over to Serbia using the same principles, but that was never done. In the process, a perception has been created in Eastern Europe that the West – both Catholics and Protestants – are busy helping the Muslims erode and ultimately wipe out the Eastern Orthodox church. Which is why people in many of those countries (including Russia) are hostile to the West.
My only disappointment has been w/ Serbia, which didn’t institute a no-Muslim immigration policy like Hungary. Are they looking forward to losing even more territory, and ultimately disappearing as a country?
Save Europe says
Agreed. Do you know why, my country – the UK – has hordes of Iranians illegally crossing the English Channel by boats? This is true – the Serbs had a non Visa travel policy with Iran, in order to bolster tourism. Loads of richer Iranians were flying into Serbia, then, entering the EU Schengen zone, illegally. Then…. they head to the Northern part of France to attempt to arrive in the UK.
SAFI says
That seems strange… Are you sure what you say is correct? Serbia is not a Schengen country afaik https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area
SAFI says
and the only Schengen country bordering Serbia is Hungary
SAFI says
You still need an EU ID in order to travel through Schengen
SAFI says
Infidel I think you should add Spain to the short list of EU countries that have refused to recognize Kosovo’s independence (unless that changed recently without me noticing)
Infidel says
Spain believes that that question has not been settled, according to the UN. Greece and Cyprus are openly on Serbia’s side on this one. I’m not sure whether that’s the same reason Romania and Slovakia use for not recognizing an independent Kosovo
Save Europe says
Hi Safi – re read my post – above – about Iranians entering the Schengen Zone from Serbia. I did say – illegally!!!! No border in Europe is non porous! There are, generally, no fences. Also please note how the majority illegally entering the UK by small boats are Iranians.

The reason Serbia cannot do anything about muslims is because if they even attempted to do something, the international propaganda machine from the 90’s would once again awaken to the “genocidal Serbian threat” that “wants to once again ethnically cleanse minorities”, despite being the most nationally diverse country on the Balkans. Bomb me once, shame on you; bomb me twice…
Infidel says
They can lock out their country from Muslims, and ban them from entry. There ain’t much the ‘international community’ can do: what will they do, invade? Are they even a member of the EU? Given the countries that are now trying to leave, maybe they should drop that bid.
After all, they’ve already lost areas of their country due to those being Muslim, so demanding that they continue to allow Muslims in is like demanding that India continue to have Muslims despite being partitioned and forced to part w/ Muslim majority regions. Neither the Serbs nor Indians have any moral obligations to have any Muslims or allow practice of Islam

Here’s the other end of the problem – the flow of refugees into Europe.

And who are these people? According to the Greek Prime Minister,
qq//Some 50% are Afghans and Pakistanis, who are moved by organised traffickers. Most have the profile of economic migrants, not refugees.//qq
That’s just great. It’s not as if we don’t have enough of these undesirables in Europe already. A new crop of Muslim freeloaders and potential jihadists are waiting to come in.

If they are refugees, they should accept whichever country can take them, and where they won’t be disruptive. These 3 Muslim countries should be happy to become more Muslim as a result.
They – the refugees – should not be allowed to country-shop – deciding that they wanna settle in Germany… er, no France… scratch that, Italy… why not Britain…oh no, Spain… Just put them in Bosnia or Albania, and let them assimilate in those Muslim populations.

To be honest, and give credit where credit is due, personally, I think the Kalashnikov AK-47 is one of the (if not, the) most awesome anti personel weapons ever made. Ultimately, enough countries would have left the EU, and they can then consist of just the Muslim countries – Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo… and (drumroll, please) Turkey!
