My latest in PJ Media:
Would Amy McGrath, who hopes to take Mitch McConnell’s Senate seat away from him, attend a dinner hosted by a Nazi group? Of course not. Would she show her face hosted by a group that opposed jihad terror? Not on your life. But in a sign of how topsy-turvy the Left’s moral compass has become, she didn’t hesitate to attend a dinner hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). In light of what CAIR stands for and its appalling track record, how is that different from attending a Nazi function?
CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.
In response to criticism, the McGrath campaign has maintained that the CAIR dinner was an entirely benign “interfaith event.” McGrath’s campaign manager, Mark Nickolas, insisted that “Amy attended an interfaith event joined by a rabbi and a Baptist preacher and sponsored by the University of Kentucky.” Nothing to see here. Move along.
Not only is there nothing to see there, but there is nothing to see in the fact that one of the donors to McGrath’s failed 2018 campaign for the House of Representatives was none other than the virulently anti-Semitic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. She gave McGrath $1,000.
Now, imagine for a moment that a Republican candidate for the Senate had received during a previous campaign a $1,000 donation from a member of the House of Representatives who had become notorious for racist and white supremacist statements. Imagine further that this same candidate had attended a dinner hosted by a group that had been identified by the Justice Department as having links to the Ku Klux Klan. Do you think that the establishment media’s reaction would be the resolute indifference with which “journalists” have greeted the news of McGrath’s presence at the CAIR dinner?
There is much more. Read it all.

This may help Sen. McConnell.

She’s actually counting on Islam having a better image between now and the election?
Not only is she un-electable because of lack of judgement in choosing associations, she’s unelectable because she’s stupid.
mortimer says
Better image for Islam? Don’t count on it with ISIS leaders in the press daily and coming trials of ISIS criminals. The image of Islam is not going to be rehabilitated. The public is becoming aware of the VIOLENT DOCTRINES and CRUEL PUNISHMENTS that are normative Islam.
Islam will continue to generate violence, because the primary texts are unexcelled in promoting violence against disbelievers when compared with the sacred writings of all other faiths.

Politicians are so gullible. “We are an organization that defends a minority group. Care to attend out dinner?” “Well, my personal assistant googled you and they say your story checks out. Count me in!”
mortimer says
Truly, she is gullible not to realize the CAIR is a front for terrorists.

trump will be reove from office .

Keep up the good work, Brian. Every post of yours can only add to a proper and accurate assessment of Islam, not to mention a sophisticated assessment of America and all the West.
Yes indeed, you’re doing your bit to have Mo’s creed figured out correctly. Don’t stop.

The semi-literate “Brian Hoff”–really, “DefenderofIslam”–has said that the president should be removed from office for saying bad things about Jihad.
James Lincoln says
Brian Hoff,
Let’s see, in your six word sentence:
“trump” should be capitalized.
Removed is not spelled “reove”.
Get rid of the extra space before the period.
Recommend the following:
Take a course in English grammar.
Use a spellchecker on all posts.
Leave Islam.

I think Brian has been secretly sending me those phishing emails about my new unlimited phone service — the ones with “messagging” in the headline. Thanks, Brian, makes it so much easier to just delete them on first sight.

That will never happen!

They are grathing the evidence of forceing than other nation to investate than polital opponst is than hight crime. trump was boo and greet with shout of lock him up at the baseball game.

I’d need an entire box of red pencils just to correct the errors in this last offering from “DefenderofIslam”. Very impressive in its own way…

“They are grathing the evidence of forceing than other nation to investate than polital opponst is than hight crime. ”
Nah, there was no forcing anyone to do anything – it’s the “Russia collusion” nothingburguer all over again. What there is evidence for is that at the time Vice President Biden strongarmed Ukraine to fire an attorney general who was looking into corruption at the company where Biden’s son works – he’s on tape saying that if the Ukrainian government didn’t fire the guy they could kiss American help goodbye. All Trump did was saying what amounted to “that thing Biden told you not to look into? You can look into it now”.
Angemon says
Nah – he’ll either serve two terms or lose the next elections. Removed? Not a chance.

I honor McGrath’s military service. I dishonor her for this.
Conclusion: Brave and fine people can often be terribly wrong about where good and evil ultimately reside. Courage and goodness are not enough. These two positives, laudatory as they are, must be accompanied by accurate knowledge and wisdom lest these two positives add up to something of no account at all—or even, as in this instance, actually facilitating iniquity.
All those in Kentucky who end up voting for McGrath are, one way or another, missing the veracity of the hypothesis I just stated. Most sad of all is that McGrath is an unwitting stooge for the one major religion which, if given the chance, would utterly gut the very constitutional fabric of the polity she fought for.
James Lincoln says
Wellington,
Another excellent spot-on post, my compliments.
Amy McGrath, a retired US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel, was an exemplary officer and served with distinction.
But I also do not like her politics – running as a Democrat in 2020.
She needs to take a course from John Guandolo’s UTT “Understanding The Threat” -and spend some time on the Jihad Watch website.

“Brave and fine people can often be terribly wrong about where good and evil ultimately reside. Courage and goodness are not enough.” Words of wisdom. It is far easier for evil to triumph because good men (and women) do nothing if the good men and women are incapable of recognizing the evil when it confronts them.

McConnell Senate Challenger Attends Dinner Hosted by Hamas-Linked CAIR
……………………..
The foolish Amy McGrath likely thinks CAIR is just a civil rights group–instead of what they are–stealth Jihad with links to the violent variety.
mortimer says
CAIR is know to be a front for Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood, two terrorist organizations.
notnolib says
Everybody knows that CAIR is a terrorist organization. It’s members, officers, and all supporters are terrorists. PERIOD!

A copy of this report should be mailed to Amy’s campaign headquarters. They all need more education.

I bet there wasn’t any bacon, pork chops, pork rinds, sausage, smoked ham, bratwurst or ham sandwiches at that dinner, but I heated-up some canadian bacon in honor of JW today.
