Pakistan has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement human rights leader Gulalai Ismail. Ismail is also “the chairperson of a non-governmental organisation (NGO), ‘Aware Girls’, and has received national and international acclaim for her work on empowering Pakistani women.”
Ismail is accused of the “maligning of state institutions,” and more specifically for “seditious speeches” she made which lead to her being charged. The so-called “seditious speeches” pertained to her empowerment of women in Pakistan. She is being persecuted, in sum, for violating the tenets of Islamic law forbidding criticism of Islam (which extends to its teachings about women).
But Ismail escaped “mysteriously.”
When Pakistani leader Imran Khan was delivering his speech to the United Nations where he accused India of being like Nazi Germany, declaring that “there is no radical Islam” and decrying “Islamophobia,” Gulalai Ismail was reported to have been seen “outside the UN headquarters in New York holding placards and chanting anti-Pakistan slogans.”
Ismail is currently seeking political asylum in the U.S.
“Non-bailable arrest warrants issued for PTM leader Gulalai Ismail,” Pakistan Today, October 2, 2019:
An additional district and sessions court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader Gulalai Ismail in a case pertaining to maligning of state institutions.
The court ordered that if the suspect does not appear before it on Oct 21, the process to declare her a proclaimed offender could be initiated.
Ismail, who was booked over seditious speeches in May, mysteriously escaped from Pakistan after her passport was confiscated and is currently seeking political asylum in the United States.
In an informal talk with the New York Times on Sept 20, the self-proclaimed human rights activist on the run refused to reveal how she got out of Pakistan without any passport and other valid travel documents.
“I didn’t fly out of any airport,” she said, adding: “I can’t tell you any more.”
In March this year, the Islamabad High Court (IHC), while hearing her petition, directed the interior ministry to remove her name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The court, however, allowed the ministry to take appropriate action against her, including the confiscation of her passport, based on the recommendations by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
In November last year, the IHC was informed that the ISI recommended putting the rights activist’s name on the ECL for her anti-state activities and reported linkages with foreign spy agencies.
In her petition, she sought the retrieval of her passport and travel documents which the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had confiscated upon her arrival in Pakistan on Oct 12 when she was briefly detained at the Agency’s Islamabad office.
According to the petition, Ismail is the chairperson of a non-governmental organisation (NGO), “Aware Girls”, and has received national and international acclaim for her work on empowering Pakistani women.
The petition said that the FIA, on Oct 12, detained her when she returned from the UK in connection with her association with the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement and for “delivering anti-state speeches”…

No, no asylum in the US. If Ismail feels so strongly about it, she can move to Afghanistan, or to any of the stans up north, or Bangladesh, where Muslim women do have rights, since they’ve not yet been Islamized. Why do Western countries have to be the ones to take in Muslims who may be feminists or something else, but don’t cast off their Islam altogether? Don’t honor the warrants, but don’t grant her asylum either

Afghanistan has stoning back on the books. This is not women’s rights.
mortimer says
Gulalai Ismail is being persecuted because she upholds the human rights and civil liberties of women in Pakistan. The Islamic state of Pakistan OPPOSES and DOWNGRADES he human rights and civil liberties of women in Pakistan.
And Western fake feminists say … (crickets)

She is an extremist, a part of that tiny minority, and so, arrest her now!

you want asylum, then LEAVE ISLAM IMMEDIATELY. Prove that you actually are CIVILISED. If you stay a moslem, then you still are following a Barbaric ideology of savages. The World’s Satanic FILTH.

Pakistan issues arrest warrants for human rights activist for “seditious speeches” supporting women’s rights
…………………..
Horrible but not surprising. Glad she escaped.
Battle says
If she wants rights, she had better convert to Christian? Or Buddhist?
stargood says
Battle, why does she have to convert to any religion in order to have human rights? Her religion has nothing to do with her deserving to be treated respectfully.
To the others in this thread demanding that Gulalai Ismail renounce Islam before being considered for political asylum in the USA: This woman may have been born a Muslim, but she is no Jihadi. She is an internationally known women’s rights activist who deserves any protection that the US can give her. Thankfully, the decision to give her asylum here is not up to you!

There are two real problems if she remains muslim that should not be left out of the equation.
One.
If she has kids and raises them as (no matter how moderate) muslims. Experience shows that 2nd and 3rd generations of muslim migrants tend to seek out their spiritual roots and become steadily more muslim than their parents. Many European terrorists have been from such families. So islamization is the result of taking in muslims regardless of the degree of religious commitment in the 1st generation.
Two.
Without the civilizing influence and active ethical re-education of a different religion / world view (Christianity and Buddhism are among the two best healers of souls), a person brought up in islam often remains disturbed on many levels (conscious and subconscious), and will in practice react like a muslim (i. e. violently) in spite of their wish to create something better than what they left behind.
Here is an illustrative example. Meet Ms. Mona Eltahawy who was brave enough to demonstrate on the Tahrir Square for women’s rights during the “Arab spring” and was horribly beaten by the Egyptian police. She now lives in New York campaigning for feminism, but she is not an asset to the US.
In her new book, she recommends “culling” a certain number of men each week in order to make men rape and murder fewer women. The ethical foundation remains perverted. She has not had the courage to discard Mohammad, so her solution to extant problems remains similar to his: kill, maim, destroy.
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2019/10/07/feminist-author-fantasizes-about-killing-a-certain-number-of-men-each-week-to-defeat-patriarchy/
One may suspect that she has latched onto the most violent and delusional ideas extant in the West and amplified them to an islamic level of depravity because that was psychologically easier than confronting the actual evil of islam. “The octopus patriarchy” is a safer enemy because (unlike muslim men) it doesn’t hit back.
Mohammad appears to remain victorious in Ms. Eltahawy’s soul through terror. She chooses the usual scapegoat instead: The West and the self-same civilized men (and women) who graciously offered her a safe haven in their home. (Something they were by no means obliged to do.)
She has abused the kindness shown to her by American men, both white and black, and should not be allowed to stay in the US. Why should the US shelter people who agitate for the mass murder of its own citizens?
. . .
I wish Ms. Gulalai Ismail all the best. She does indeed deserve shelter from being imprisoned in Pakistan, but the question whether she remains a muslim is indeed an important one and should be a decisive factor in deciding where she should be sheltered. If muslim still, she ought to seek out a more liberal muslim country. This would be the best for everyone.
