My latest in PJ Media:
Wait long enough, and everything comes around again. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), one of the wokest womyn in the world, has this week blazed bold new trails by calling for the revival of not one, but two tried-and-true practices that have inexplicably fallen into neglect in American politics: Jim Crow segregation laws and the arrest of one’s political opponents.
This brave leader said in a Detroit speech that if Trump Cabinet members failed to comply with congressional subpoenas, “they’re trying to figure out, no joke, is it the D.C. police that goes and gets them? We don’t know. Where do we hold them?” Tlaib added: “This is the first time we’ve ever had a situation like this,” and that consequently, she and other Democrat leaders were “trying to tread carefully” into this “uncharted territory.” She volunteered her own district for this noble undertaking: “I will tell them they can hold all those people right here in Detroit.”
Oh, but this territory is amply charted. Tlaib’s vision for America’s future apparently looks a great deal like the past – and present – of authoritarian regimes the world over. The new diverse, inclusive America of Tlaib and her colleagues apparently includes the 2 a.m. pounding on the door and the hustling of a bewildered, pajama-clad conservative by jackbooted stormtroopers into a waiting police van. Then they get hustled off to Detroit, the name of which will take on an air of menace and foreboding, like “Treblinka” and “Kolyma.” And why not? We already have telescreens all over airports and other public spaces pumping CNN propaganda into an unwitting populace 24/7 now; arrests and, presumably, camps for dissenters is the logical next step. After all, that’s what happened in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, and still happens in North Korea and Communist China. The wise Tlaib knows that our future is their past.
Nor is that all. Tlaib Tuesday toured Detroit’s Public Safety Headquarters and told Detroit police Chief James Craig that facial recognition analysts “need to be African Americans, not people that are not. I think non-African Americans think African Americans all look the same.”
That meant, of course, that Tlaib herself, since she is not African American, thinks all African Americans look the same, but she can be forgiven for being so overwhelmed by her passion for justice that she got a bit confused. Here again, the visionary Tlaib knows that William Faulkner, despite being a white male Southerner and hence obviously racist and manifestly evil, was actually right when he said, “The past isn’t dead. It is not even past.” The old Jim Crow laws of the South in Faulkner’s time are Tlaib’s new vision for America: if she gets her way, you won’t be judged by the content of your character, but by the color of your skin.
There is much more. Read the rest here.

Why is this evil pig inside our government? she want us all dead! under evil and all of us who hate evil dead.

Fred, Muslims hate kafirs ‘for the sake of Allah’. This official, required teaching of hatred directed by Muslims towards disbelieving non-Muslims is called ‘AL WALAA WAL BARAA’. Normative Islam, rather than an aberration.
Tlaib’s allies in the Dem party don’t realize that Tlaib ‘hates’ them too because their are dirty kafirs as well.
Where ignorance is bliss … (the Dems) … tis folly to be Islamo-knowledgeable.

mortimer says
Come, come, Ms Tlaib … please let us know what you really think. Let out your inner Sharia totalitarian.
However, some of your voters in your district may know something of their constitutional rights which prevent them from being treated as you propose. That would very inconvenient for you.
What Tlaib is proposing is to create a GULAG in Michigan for those who dissent from her planned Islamization and Sharification of America.
Sounds like she’s right in sync with the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR whose founder Omar Ahmad said :
“”Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant,” and, “The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

She evidently believes she has the **power** and authority and the *right* to do as she pleases because she’s a molim creep.
Her’we’ll take care of them” does not sound like “care” at all, but kinda’ like mafia-style care. As in the mafia boss says, “We have a mess here. The little baker and his wife don’t want to play anymore. I’d like them to go for a ride and have a little talk. Big Tony, take care of it.”
“Sure, boss”
tlaib is as stupid as she is ugly. And she’s as evil as she is stupid.
Goofy says
The good thing is that by her own “holy book” the Koran she is intellectually deficient and it takes two of her kind to account for one male vote. It is not to inform her that our respect for her religion goes as far as to respect the Koran on that point.

The Koran is more than ‘largely’ wrong … it is monumentally wrong, prejudiced, uninformed, misinformed and self-referentially incoherent.
Westman says
With a little imagination you could believe she has come from the future as a “Terminator” to eliminate Trump. She certainly has “Bannana Republic” ideas of – might is everything – right out of Muhammad’s mind. Do you suspect she volunteered for Hall Monitor in Elementary School with dreams of someday beating “confessions” from suspects?
Her angry, vulgar speech and vulgar T-shirts, are creating Islamophobia by themselves. She must be the pride of CAIR.
mortimer says
Westman sees a totalitarian future for Tlab. I doubt it. The Dems are deeply divided about what flavor of totalitarianism they want. She would have no part in it once it began.
gravenimage says
It has already begun–her talking like this is proof.
Westman says
Nah, I see Tliab as a totalitarian mind(the source is obvious) coupled with the inability to turn its thoughts into reality.
Tlaib is the weakest in this “fellow traveling” and will be shunted aside by democratic lawmakers when she becomes a liability.
mortimer says
She’s a clown. They allow her clowning because it distracts people from the issues. Many Leftards want to silence all conservative political opponents and news providers, because they are totalitarian. The American Leftards are totally in favor of China silencing Muslims, because they would do the same if they could find a way to win elections consistenty without their help. The American leftards are in bed with financial empires that promote globalism for their own financial benefit. Social plus crony capitalism were united by a famous Italian politician who gave this new hybrid a ‘name’ that you can guess.
The Leftards in America today believe in this unification of crony capitalism and socialism. They just haven’t found the charismatic leader to lead them to the Promised Land of Gulags and secret police Torture Chambers. Modern Leftards want a leader that’s half Franco and half Stalin. Their hysteria reminds me of the Red Guard era in China.
mortimer says
Yes, Tlaib truly wants a one-party state, but stops short of asking for it by name … the Soviet States of America.
However, show of hands, please … how many of you Dems want a MARXIST one-party state (that will persecute Muslims) and how many of you want an ISLAMIC one-party state that persecutes Marxists and other godless kafirs?
(Don’t everyone speak at once.)
gravenimage says
Yes, they will ultimately turn on each other, Mortimer–but for now Leftists and Muslims are largely allied against patriotic Americans.

Nationally it was the Democratic Party that was most associated with the Klu Klux Klan. Rashida Tlaib is just carrying on that grand tradition of intolerance, Jim Crow-style laws and the arrest of political enemies. It is a natural fit with the concepts of Sharia Law and Islamic Suprematism.

There are three Muslims in the US House of Representatives. They make up .7% of the House. And two out of three – Omar and Tlaib – cause an awful lot of trouble…
There are no Muslims in the U.S. Senate.
Imagine if Muslims made up 10% of the US House of Representatives and 10% of the U.S. Senate… If you think things are bad now…

Infidel, there are three in Congress now, and there was one before–Keith Ellison (I don’t know what his Muslim name is). He was also a Democrat.
André Carson is a Democrat, as well:

So are Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Unsurprisingly, all Democrats.
Far from being a Republican, Carson has falsely claimed that members of the Tea Party (an informal group of fiscal conservatives, mostly Republicans) wanted him lynched. This was a baseless smear.

When you hear democrats decrying the destruction of their democracy just think DDR (GDR). The Deutsche Demokratische Republik (German Democratic Republic). Cold war era East Germany. That is the democrat party’s vision of their democracy. Right now President Trump is building a wall to keep people who don’t follow immigration rules out. Eventually and through necessity the democrats will have to build a wall to keep people in. Some things never change.
James says
At least according to some authors, the democrat concern for identity groups is a disguise of their true motivation, the idea that they represent the ruling class and the various identity groups represent the lower classes. Thus, the Dems say they regret having white privilege, but they really do not regret it. They are in the ruling class and they want to manipulate and control the lower class, which includes all the identity groups. These groups are simply part of the underlings to the elites. Obama, for example, spends little time with black people and owns an expensive house in Martha’s Vineyard, which is not black. He is part of the ruling class, not because of his race but because of money, education, social ties to the ruling class. So Ms Tlaib is really just pretending to care about colored people. For her they are simply part of the underclass that she presides over as a member of the ruling elite.

gravenimage says
Yes, that is my understanding of things so far, as well.
Lotus says
Well, being more of a centrist, I have to disagree with some of the things that have been said here.
Not that I have any liking for this Tlaib person, but because in my view the sharp polarisation of Left and Right has weakened Western countries and made them more susceptible to Muslim infiltration.
This polarisation has definitely got worse in the last couple of decades, to the point where anything said by the Left is automatically denounced by the Right, and vice versa.
Who benefits from this political infighting? The Muslims, of course. To date, they have taken advantage of the Left’s naivety and mania for political correctness, but there is no natural affinity between Muslim theocrats and the Left. When the Left has served its purpose, the Muslims will turn on them.
Those of us who live in Western countries, whatever our political affiliation, should recognise our common enemy. The Left, the Centre and the Right should all stand shoulder to shoulder against Islamic encroachment.
The thirteenth-century Persian poet Saadi of Shiraz (whose writings are widely read in the Islamic world) understood this point well. He wrote,
qq// When you see that discord is in the army of the foe, be at ease; but if they are united, be apprehensive of your own distress.
Go and relax with your friends when you see war among your enemies; but if you notice that they all agree, draw your bow and carry stones upon the rampart. //qq (Saadi of Shiraz, The Gulistan)
gravenimage says
Lotus, Rashida Tlaib is not some kind of decent just left-of-center Democrat–she is hard left and pro-Jihad.
Ernie says
No Gravenimage , Rashida Tlaib USES the hard left as a vehicle as long as she NEEDS it ; she’s not hard left .. …When Islam becomes powerful enough , she will throw everything ” left ” under the bus ……as simple as that . She’s pro-Jihad ; you got that right .
Lotus says
Gravenimage, as I said, I have no liking for her. My point was a more general one, that Westerners should recognise the common enemy of Islam and unite against it, whatever our political affiliation, because in the end we will all lose as Islam becomes ever more powerful and influential.
In the Eighties, there was a reaction in the Protestant churches against what were perceived as dull, old-fashioned hymns left over from the nineteenth century. The slogan was, ‘Why should the Devil have all the good music?’ This gave rise to a new generation of Christian songs which made the churches more attractive to young people.
In the same vein, I ask a simple question: Why do you have to be right-wing to oppose Islam? I am not right-wing. But if opposition to Islam is associated with being a right-wing extremist, it will never get the broad support it needs to actually make a difference.
So far, the ‘culture wars’ have gone against those who oppose Islam, and they are consigned to the ghetto of right-wing extremism. What is needed is an initiative to build bridges to the political Left and Centre to get mainstream political and cultural support for opposition to Islam.
Given the political scene today, I don’t say that is likely. I only say that it is necessary.
Think of it like a game of Chess or Checkers. Who wins a game like that? The player who controls the centre. That is because in the centre his pieces have maximum power, the greatest mobility and the best coordination.
When a player dominates in the centre, his opponent is of necessity forced to the side of the board, where his pieces are weak, lacking in mobility and divided. The ending of such a game is never in any real doubt.
DonaldoEchnatono543 says
Wise words from you , Lotus . Thank you !

While I understand your logic – how much better it would be if we would stand united against an invasion of Islam – I think this is unlikely to work in practice.
The problem, is not *Islam* itself, the problem is the rise of leftism as the predominant western cultural meme. It is the left that facilitates Islam. If the left weren’t in charge, Islam would not be infiltrating and replacing western culture.
So to counter the threat, we first have to persuade the left that replacing our culture with Islam is not a good idea, and then we have to do something about it?
This would be nice in theory, but I don’t believe most leftists are capable of change. The psychology of leftism is so heavily committed in their desire to feel – and be seen as – superior to those who don’t agree with them, I don’t see how this virtuous circle can be squared.
It’s as if the left are stuck in a runaway cycle of endlessly proving to each other how superior they are – just look at the current explosion in genders (where is this idiocy going to end?).
If the 20th century doesn’t persuade the left they are barking up the wrong tree (200 million or so dead etc), then I don’t see what will. Unfortunately, they *want* to believe they are destined to be the future master race, so – like any faith – they are not amenable to reason.
So I don’t believe it is worth trying to ally with the left – though I do agree that the centre has to be more assertive. The solution follows from sidelining the left, not embracing them.
Just look at the Visegrad (Eastern European) countries. They are standing up against Islamic infiltration and I believe are the example we should all be following. They are mainly centre or slightly right-of-centre governments (not *far right* as the BBC insists on calling them!) and have got into power by appealing to the common sense of the centre voters. They have not persuaded the left they are wrong, they just get more votes than them.
In fact the biggest weakness of the left is that normal people can see how ridiculous their ideas are when taken to the extreme (as they always are). Talk to most people, and after their guard is dropped they will often reveal that they are worried about what is happening, but dare not say anything.
It is these *normal*, centre, people we should be appealing to. As Orwell said “If there’s hope, it lies with the Proles”.
Lotus says
ManchesterLad, thanks for your considered response. This is an interesting topic which goes beyond what can be fitted into BTL comments here.
I think of the Centrist position in the following way. Imagine an equilateral triangle (three equal sides and angles).
The left-side angle is left-wing totalitaranism (Marxist-Leninism, etc and these days Xi Jinping’s China).
The right-side angle is right-wing totalitarianism (Mussolini, Hitler, Franco and various other juntas that come along).
The top angle is religious totalitarianism in the form of oppressive theocracies. Several religions are capable of this, but these days the most powerful and dangerous one is Islam.
In the central space of the triangle lies the Centrist position. It repudiates all three kinds of totalitarianism and emphasises democratic openness by means of freedom of speech and assembly, civil rights, a free media, the separation of religion and state, and so on.
Unlike the Left, the Centrist position does not tolerate Islam, because it clearly sees the need to protect an open society from the forces that would undermine and eventually overthrow it. The open society should not be a naive one.
As for the Visegrad nations, they are successfully upholding the European heritage against Islamic encroachment (good), but are also undermining the independent judiciary and restricting press freedoms (not so good). So any endorsement of them can only be lukewarm.
Lotus says
In today’s Guardian newspaper, another article on the far-right. Look how all these issues are lumped together as extremist and beyond the pale. This is what I mean when I say that those who oppose Islam are losing the culture war.
qq// Brexit is not the only issue to interest far-right supporters: other dominant themes are anti-Muslim hatred, white supremacism or cultural nationalism.
Ideas are spread internationally, most notably the conspiracy theory of the “great replacement”, which is based on the false claim that so-called indigenous European people will be outnumbered by Muslims. //qq

Thanks Lotus *& ManchesterLad. Thwe terms Left and Right may well have outlived their usefulness in describing the thoughts of real live people. No lecture here about how many purportedly Leftist positions are deeply conservative, or vice versa. Can we quit alienating each other and agree to fight the things that we all oppose?
Lotus says
Elee, that is what I was proposing. But unfortunately Left and Right are alive and well, whatever you may think. The polarisation has got worse in recent years, not better.
ManchesterLad says
Thanks Elee, but I don’t feel that we are arguing at all! Our positions are basically the same.
Whether we may think the terms left & right have lost a lot of their meaning, it’s surely clear to most that it is those who identify as leftists who are the real problem in terms of wilful submission to Islam.
