A Dutch mosque wants to stop people from associating the phrase with violence. It will be tough. My latest in FrontPage:
The NL Times reported Tuesday that the Blauwe Moskee in Amsterdam Nieuw-West wants to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer (the Adhan) over loudspeakers, in an attempt to “normalize Islamic traditions” in the Netherlands. The leader of the mosque, imam Yassin Elforkani, also says that if the call to prayer goes out over loudspeakers, “Amsterdam residents will get more used to the religion as something normal and unrest will disappear.” So apparently all the “unrest” comes from Dutch people not being used to Islam, right? Or could it possibly have something to do with all those Muslims screaming “Allahu akbar” while they’re killing people?
The cry of “Allahu akbar,” since it is repeated several times during the call to prayer, is at the forefront of this discussion in the Netherlands. “We do not want to provoke with this, but try to normalize Islamic traditions,” says Elforkani. “Because of international terrorism, people still associate ‘Allahu akbar’ with violence or misery, while many visitors to our mosque experience it as something meditative. The Adhan can contribute to the fact that Islam is finally seen as something normal in the Netherlands.”
How wonderful. Non-Muslims will grow accustomed to Islam, they’ll come to see it as something normal, and all will be right with the world as Muslims and non-Muslims in the Netherlands join hands and march together into the glorious multiculturalist, globalist, socialist future. What could possibly go wrong, apart from the handful of remaining racist, bigoted “Islamophobes” who haven’t yet gotten their minds right? But they aren’t really the ones who are wickedly associating the cry of “Allahu akbar” with “violence and misery.” The ones who are doing that, the real flies in the multicultural ointment who could destroy this entire exercise in “normalization,” are Yassin Elforkani’s violent-minded coreligionists.
Let’s just take the last few weeks. Xinhua reported that in France on September 7, “a 17-year-old man armed with a knife assaulted two municipal employees at a canteen in a school in Marseille.” The attacker screamed “Allahu akbar,” as well as “Christians must die.” Then, according to the New York Post ten days later, another Muslim screaming “Allahu akbar” in front of the central train station in Milan stabbed an Italian soldier in the neck with a pair of scissors. Italian police, as determinedly clueless as authorities all over the Western world, are, says the Post, investigating in order to “determine if the attack was terrorism-related.”
Then on September 20, New Zealand’s Otago Daily Times reported that “a man has admitted ramming a police car and chasing an officer down the highway on foot with a tomahawk while yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’. After giving up the pursuit, Ruairi Kern Taylor (24), of Gore, returned to the empty police car, took to it with the weapon – causing more than $30,000 of damage – and was later found wearing a police hat and jacket while yelling excerpts from the Koran.”
It’s almost enough to make people think that screaming “Allahu akbar” had something to do with violence. And that’s not all. The Muslim site 5Pillars admitted that a man who deliberately drove his car into a mosque in France on September 21 was not an “Islamophobe,” but a Muslim. The prosecutor noted that the perpetrator “was partly covered with blood on the upper part of the white tunic he wore” and that “a bloody knife was found on the scene of the arrest.” 5Pillars reports: “The prosecutor added that several witnesses heard him say ‘Allah Akbar’ many times.”
Also in France, on October 3, a convert to Islam named Mickaël Harpon, who worked at the Paris police prefecture, stabbed four of his coworkers to death. It was soon revealed that a neighbor had heard him screaming “Allahu akbar” in his apartment the night before the murders. Harpon also exchanged 33 text messages with his Muslim wife right before the attack, concluding the exchange with “Allahu akbar.”
Two days after that, Arutz Sheva reported that “a 23-year-old Syrian armed with a knife on Friday ran into a Berlin synagogue, and was arrested at the entrance. According to eyewitnesses, the Syrian yelled ‘Allahu akhbar [sic]’ and anti-Israel statements.” As so often happens in such cases, police are trying to determine his motive.
In light of all this, is the cry of “Allahu akbar” broadcast over loudspeakers from a mosque in Amsterdam really going to reassure the non-Muslim populace, or just make them nervous? Would they be “Islamophobic” for having such a reaction?

“Amsterdam residents will get more used to the religion as something normal and unrest will disappear.”
What could be more logical? And this is the guy people go to for advice. Here’s how I think the unrest will disappear:
“At 3 AM GMT today everybody in the World will stop believing in Islam and apologize for any harm they caused in the name of a false God”.
I think my assessment makes more sense.

How is it normalising anything? It is in fact ensuring the pre-eminence of Islam. On addition in these times when everybody has cell phone or a watch. There is absolutely no need for such an outdated institution from the 8th century.
Normalising is just an excuse for forcing everybody to listen to Islam prayers. I stayed in a hotel recently which was 100 metres from a mosque. It was not a pleasant experience!

Allah Akbar is the war cry of Mohammed and his companions, so it is a basic part of authentic, original Islam. Muslims believe that since Mohammed was perfect, then Muslims should imitate him in every act and even in every mannerism. When Islamic terrorists attack they normally shout, ‘Allah Akbar !’ This is not going to change.
mortimer says
The Islamic War-cry is a justification for intolerance
The war cry of Allahu akbar is a twisting of the war cry of the Arabian Aphrodite…in other words, it is a form of misogyny.
Allat or Aphrodite or the Goddess of Arabia or Mighty Aphrodite was ‘The Greatest’ of goddesses in Arabia.
Allat was referred to as al-Kubra (The Greatest one) … i.e. the brightest and morning star…Venus (Aphrodite in Greek).
The lexical meaning, Akbar, as in Allah-u Akbar, is the male form, whereas Kub(e)raa is the female form … giving Allat al-kubera … the Goddess is the Greatest…similar to the Great Aphrodite. Al-‘Uzzá was also called ‘Chabar’ (the great) or ‘Allat-al-Chabar’.
Mohammed using a pun, twisted this into ‘Allahu Akbar’, meaning ‘Allah is greater than Allat’.
In the satanic verses, Mohammed approved the worship of the triple goddess and the people of Mecca prostrated to the goddesses at the Kaaba.
ALLAHU AKBAR is a misogynistic slogan meaning “ALLAH is greater than ALLAT (the goddess)”.
While shouting “Allahu Akbar”, Mohammed and his followers felt justified to exterminate worshipers of the Triple Goddess of Arabia. “Allahu akbar” justifies genocide, misogyny and violence.
“Allahu Akbar” is ultimately a declaration that Allah gives Muslims the right to rule over ‘others’.

Yes Mortimer , Islam/Muslims want to DOMINATE/RULE over all and everything , subjugate , conquer. Also by noise. It is an invasion by noise. If this would happen in my neighborhood , I would consider it terror(izing) by noise . Noise disturbance , infringement by an unwanted message . Noise pollution . It would make me really mad .
mortimer says
Agreeing with Ernie. The call of ALLAH AKBAR is terrorism through VERBAL MESSAGES BLASTED OUT BY LOUDSPEAKERS
… The message is a death threat, namely, “Our god is greater than yours … so SUBMIT TO US and YOU WILL BE SAFE.”
Arabic: ASLIM … TASLAM !!!
The purpose of the ‘adnan’ was to call people before radio, telephones, etc. With a ‘call-to-prayer’ app on a cell-phone, Muslims can receive this call EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD.
The ADNAN IS PASSÉ … so get an app on your phone Muslims… you’d be too far from the loudspeaker to hear it anyway.

Not being that much of a big IT ‘tech-head’, that angle is not one that I had given much thought to, Mortimer. With the advent of mobile devices, and instant messaging, and notifications, this is a very logical contemporary argument against any local council thinking about giving ascent to whinging calls to install ‘call to prayer’ loudspeakers in public neighbour hoods. The argument now is GET YOURSELF A ‘CALL TO PRAYER’ APP! Neighbourhood loudspeakers are now passé as far as technology is concerned. That thought has really brightened me up, cheers. (but of course, in reality, we just know that what they really want all along is to be able to inflict this woeful shit on EVERYBODY’S ears).

The Koran is a manual on who to hate and how to kill them. It was written by (or for) one individual making it extremely self-serving. The writer lays claim to as much land as he can handle and can have as many slaves as he wants and foot soldiers have to pay one-fifth of all loot to Mohammed. Another fifth is to be paid to ”Allah.” Just give it to Mohammed and he’ll be sure to pass it on.
A lot of writers to this website use it as a platform to show how much better their religion is than Islam. Like, wow, what a challenge and what an achievement since only about 200,000 of you have managed it so far. In the meantime, cease trying to mystify Islam. It is a piece of crap and nothing more.

Wow! That’s amazing. Thank you, Mortimer.

This sounds more like an attempt to override the local culture by somewhat noisy “stealth”.
In reality if anyone else played loud music or called out scripture over a loud speaker 5 times a day there would be hell to pay.
But of course these poor misunderstood, peace loving people should be allowed to do this in the interests of diversity.

Like the “Ground Zero Mosque”, a.k.a., the “Cordoba House”, Cordoba being a part of Spain conquered by muslims who, to signal the victory, converted an existing Visigoth church into a mosque.

They can’t “normalize” islam in Amsterdam. There is nothing “normal” about islam. Never has been since it was created by satan in the form of the worship of Nimrod, down through the molech and ba’al days and on into the desert rat time when the raper of children, mass murderer gave satan worship the name we hear, see and read so much about today.
islam goes against all human decency. It is directly opposed to virtue, value, goodness, fine quality, kindness, sweetness, beauty, joy, mercy, and any and all positive things in the lives of “normal” humans.
This devil worshipping moslim just wants to overwhelm the citizens, much like one is overwhelmed with the odor of a family of angry skunks. He wants them to get “used” to it to the point of no more complaints.
One can get “used” to a terrible smell…if they live with it day after day, they lose the ability to smell it. No non moslim who values his health and hearing, his peace of mind and quiet, can get “used” to the sound of the caterwauling that comes over those loudspeakers.

It would be good if Muslims in the West got used to not hearing the muslim call to prayer. That would normalize them in a foreign culture. Instead they somehow think everyone else has to get used to them expanding their culture to replace the cultures of countries where they move in. There should be very low quotas on Muslim immigration to other countries that are not Muslim. That is the best way to normalize muslim presence in a non-muslim country.

Recent Adventures in ‘Allahu Akbar’
………………………
If Imam Yassin Elforkani *really* wanted Infidels to stop associating “Allahu Akbar!” with violence, he would take it up with his fellow Muslims, not with the potential victims of Jihad violence.
Aussie Infidel says
The leader of the mosque, imam Yassin Elforkani, also says that if the call to prayer goes out over loudspeakers, “Amsterdam residents will get more used to the religion as something normal and unrest will disappear.” Unrest will only disappear when Islam becomes a force for good in the world, instead of evil. Muslims do nothing but provoke unrest, and the call to prayer is just one of the many devices they use – and then they claim to be the victims of intolerance. As my old grandfather would have said, “They’re as cunning as shit-house rats!”
But never mind, the dhimmis will probably think the muezzin is the town crier calling out, “God is in his heaven, and all is well” – so peaceful and normal, and inclusive. And one step closer to subjugation.

Some time back now the Auburn mosque in Sydney’s west (and I think also Sydney’s Lakemba mosque) had designs on blaring the so-called ‘call to prayer’ to a several mile radius from massive loud-speakers pointed in all directions of the compass – and the arseholes were going to do it too, and it looked like the local councils were just as obediently going to allow it – but a lot of people really jacked up about it and said, ‘hey, just wait a minute, there still happens to be ridgy-didge, fair dinkum Australians trying to live out here, and we don’t give a rat’s patootie about your f**king ‘call to prayer’, or having our eardrums assaulted on a regular daily basis with the yodeling strains of some sand koolie who has had a bad case of constipation for the last 1400 years.
And so it never happened, and it still hasn’t hapoened yet to this day. But of course, just like with their dreams of having special sharia law precincts, they keep pressuring and pushing the envelope. I suppose it will only be a matter of time before these areas are totally 101% islamic populated enclaves, and they get enough influence stacked in State Government and local councils to finally say “Up your’s, Skippies [a ‘Skippy’ is their name for a white Australian – especially white Anglo-Saxon Christian Australians] this is what we’re gonna do, so just suck it up”.

How about we put a monitor in the living room of all Muslim households. The only thing to be broadcast will be items by those who are exposing the hate permanently built into the koran. Maybe then muslims will see how sick the people who promote their religion are. This should normalize all other religions and atheism to the simple minded who desperately need the brainwashing. Not an original idea on my part but it works.
