A few weeks ago I spoke up in New Hampshire at the invitation of the Sullivan County Republican Party, and the whole incident showed in microcosm how the far-Left has gained control of the media, the educational system, and the culture in general, without any significant pushback from those who are supposedly committed to the freedom of speech and a free society.
My appearance led to what has now become the usual firestorm that ensues whenever someone who challenges the prevailing Leftist narrative speaks anywhere. I was smeared by “journalists” Kevin Landrigan of the New Hampshire Union Leader and John Gregg of the Valley News, neither of whom bothered to ask me for comment while printing as unquestioned fact defamatory and false charges about me. Raymond Buckley, chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, President of the Association of State Democratic Chairs, and Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, called me a “white supremacist,” apparently having confused me with Richard Spencer, and refused to retract when repeatedly requested to do so. Democrat State Senator Martha Hennessey, after the manner of Nazi Brownshirts in the early 1930s, led a smear campaign on Twitter. Two venues, the Eastman Community Center in Grantham and the Elks Club in Claremont, caved in to this and canceled the event; the Elks, at least, were directly pressured to cancel by Hennessey.
The event went on in a third venue. Here is the video.
Buckley is a liar and Hennessey is a fascist, so neither should be in positions of public service, but they’re typical in the Democrat Party these days. What was far worse was the cowardly response on the Republican side. Instead of investigating the false charges being made about me, discovering I wasn’t really any of the things that were being said, and standing up for the freedom of speech, all too many Republicans were ready to kowtow and do everything the Democrats wanted. Sullivan County Republican Committee Chairman Keith Hanson, who invited me in the first place, stood firm and kept finding new venues when one would cancel, but some prominent local Republicans stood. Hanson picked me up at the airport and drove me to the venue, and on the way told me about how the Democrats had gerrymandered themselves into total control of Vermont and were trying to do the same thing in New Hampshire; in response, Republicans are doing nothing. They don’t seem to realize or care what is happening, and have ceded all the initiative and control of the narrative to the Democrats.
In the face of the left’s smear campaign against me, some of the Republicans showed this again, demonstrating that they were totally cowed and ready to surrender, happy to allow the Left to dictate what they can do or can’t do. They don’t even seem to realize what is wrong with this.
James “Jim” Beard is the former Sullivan County Republican Committee Chairman and failed candidate for New Hampshire Executive Council. The night before the event, he wrote this to Hanson:
Time to accept failure….Keith, it is time to send a email blast to everyone who responded, everyone who bought tickets with 100% refunds and accept your mis-management for bringing this event to Sullivan County. Tomorrow evening, you will be alone with 10-20 people inside the VFW Hall in Claremont with a group of maybe 50 protestors outside. This is not how SCGOP candidates wish to be portrayed, nor how they will win elections.
This entire charade is an embarrassment for the SCGOP and I suggest you step aside. Let us return to good ole’ [sic] fashioned hot dog roasts on the Newport Common where people came together from all works of life in the community, socialize and build common understanding. That is how we Republicans solicit votes…interaction with the public.
You can write your own resignation…
Yes, that’s right, “let us return to good ole’ fashioned hot dog roasts.” Face down the protestors? Stand on principle? Not good ol’ James “Jim” Beard. The Democrats are at open war against the freedom of speech. They’re stigmatizing and silencing all opposition to jihad mass murder and Sharia oppression of women and others. They are forcing a radical socialist agenda on the country. And this clown thinks he is going to beat them with hot dog roasts. Or rather, he is happy to lose, as long as he gets his with mustard.
Then there is Representative Steven Smith, Senior Republican Advisor in the NH House and Chairman of the Sullivan County Delegation, Sullivan County District 11. Nadir Ahmed, an Islamic apologist whom I bested in debate years ago wrote to Smith, apparently offering to speak in Sullivan County and spread some soothing lies where I had told uncomfortable truths. Smith’s response to him, which Ahmed then gleefully sent to me, couldn’t have been friendlier (in sharp contrast to his rude and arrogant tone with me when I wrote him after this), and shows where Smith stands.
I saw your messages to the SCGOP Facebook page and did not want you to think you were being ignored. Thanks for your offer. I am currently trying to sweep up Mr. Hanson’s mess. He may not be with the organization much longer and he is not responding to messages. Your offer is interesting, but the timing is terrible. Let me think about it once this all dies down. I watched the video. The think [sic] is, I am losing faith that minds can be changed these days.
Did Smith attend my event? He did not. Does he have the first foggiest idea of what I actually say? Almost certainly not. But he knows the Democrats and the establishment media don’t like it, so he is ready to carry water for them and help further their agenda. Rep. Smith, I’d be glad to come back to New Hampshire at my own expense and debate your friend, or anyone else you choose. But somehow I doubt you have either the courage or the good will to sponsor such an event.
Why do jellyfish on the order of Beard and Smith rule in the Republican Party? The Democrats are fighting a war, and the Republicans are playing jacks. Where are the men with spines? Where are people standing up to this totalitarian agenda of the Left, and affirming that opposition to jihad terror is not morally wrong or evil, and that such opposition should be allowed a platform? Not, for the most part, in the Republican Party, not just in Sullivan County, New Hampshire, but all over the country. Instead, Republicans keep roasting their hot dogs, and hoping that their Leftist masters won’t demand too very much of them.

Shame on ‘journalists’ who do not diligently dig to verify slanders such as those aimed unfairly at Robert Spencer.
Even the full investigatory muscle of the Scotland Yard, MI5 and Canada’s CSIS could not find a single inculpatory statement in all of Robert Spencer’s writings. This means that everything he has ever written is above reproach according to the law.
Having a point of view that is different from the Leftist view is not a crime, in spite of what the Leftards say. Leftards are trying to twist the law into a pretzel to get at dissident opinion.
It’s about their power and control, rather than about facts and principles.

Dear Mr. Beard (as Jack Sparrow once addressed the pirate):
I can only assume that you are so poor you can’t afford a copy checker, given the following: “…where people came [sic] together from all works [sic] of life in the community (“to”?) socialize and build common understanding.” Or perhaps you are merely semi-literate, more common these days in a Republican rep than it used to be..
And better not invite any Muslim “members of the community” (that would be the Ummah, correct?) to that hot dog cookout unless you’ve made sure those dogs are 100% beef, no pork. Of course in that case you won’t be able to invite anyone from the Hindu community, but why would someone so obviously “woke” as yourself even care about that?
I say to you and to Representative Smith (if he can take a moment away from kissing Mr. Ahmed’s behind), that you are cowards and fools too damned mentally lazy and dishonest to properly educate yourselves about the actual nature of Islamic ideology but ready to unthinkingly accept any soothing lie told to you by an an unctuous civilizational jihadist who assures you that atrocities such as 9/11/01 — which I assume have forgotten so get off your butt and look it up! — “have nothing to do with Islam”. And that both of you are willing to offer up the citizens of the “Live Free Or Die” state to the ideology of Sharia law, jihad, antisemitism, the enslavement and abuse of women and all in the service of your political careers.
Go to Hell and take your precious damned political careers with you.

I admit, the world of “politics” has so many moving parts (and people) it is hard to keep up and I have the time in which to try! It is understandable that people with careers, families and are just trying to keep their heads above water would miss or misinterpret serious problems and even dangers we face. I had gotten confused about the Robert Spencers. I happened to catch the “good” one on an interview with Glen Beck. I was in awe with his knowledge about the Koran and what it teaches. Few of us know the Holy Bible that well! The Bible teaches that there would be many false teachers, prophets and Christs. Some politicians (and others) are just ignorant, uneducated and deceived, but others are covetous, liars, thieves, traitors and/or murderers. (any who are advocating for abortion are accomplices to murder.) I do appreciate being informed about who those are, when possible, as depressing as it can be.

It is the difference between hitting your target, and almost hitting it. It’s kindof a big deal.
I am dismayed at the Biblical illiteracy out there. Here we are, in a nation where most either have at least one Bible, have access to purchase one, and can access it online, it is legal (for a limited time longer, so get a bunch and hide them now), and we are blessed enough to be able to read the Word of God without fear. And… no one takes the time to read the Bible! They have their whole lives, and they still don’t have the ‘time’! Yet they can read novels of over a thousand pages! Did you know, the Bible is only a little over a thousand pages? I read it five times from cover to cover, in addition to random readings or Bible studies, etc., and I could have done even more, and I’m a busy beaver. One time I read it in six months flat, but I did many other things too. It’s not that hard. If some parts seem confusing, just make a note of it, it makes sense as you read because it’s all connected. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide your reading. It works! God cares that you want to know His Word.
Just the other day someone walked by outside my place and I heard them talking and one said to the other “yeah, it would be good to be able to say I read the entire Bible.” YEAH! It would! These were grown men. I had finished it (and understood it) as a teenager. What are people waiting for? Their dying moment? The soon coming apocalypse? Now is the time you need to know what it says so you won’t be deceived and pulled into the end times plan for satanic deception. Don’t be one of the ten virgins without oil caught when you can’t get any more, and the Bridegroom is arriving to get the Bride! I mean, what could be worse? So you miss a few trivial entertainments!

Republicans consistently fail to address fundamentals. They genuflect before the altar of Climate Change without challenging the science behind it. The globe isn’t warming, about the same temp for 20 yrs now. You’d think they’d bring that up. But no.
They also genuflect before the altar of Moderate Islam. I don’t need to tell this crowd the many fundamentals about Islam Republicans don’t bring up, don’t challenge at all. Thus we are politically blind and speechless. Ugh.

Mr. Pig Farmer — 97% of climate scientists say that climate change is for real, and is man-made, and is about to unleash all sorts of environmental mayhem on the planet. I have never seen any sort of evidence or compelling arguments from climate change deniers that makes me think blowing off the professional opinions of all those experts is a good idea.
As far as I’m concerned, only ridding the West of Islam/Muslims is a more urgent problem.

Climate changed before Man existed.
“and is about to unleash all sorts of environmental mayhem on the planet”
I heard that the Kilimanjaro will run out of snow and the ice caps will all melt within 10 years. Sure, that was 15 years ago, but the 97% has agreed that this time will surely happen…
“ I have never seen any sort of evidence or compelling arguments from climate change deniers that makes me think blowing off the professional opinions of all those experts is a good idea. ”
By “climate change deniers” you mean people who don’t’ believe climate change happens or people who are sceptic of the idea that climate change is caused by men? That the latter are presented as the former should ring a couple alarm bells/red flags. In any case, all predictions of temperature change I’ve seen from the 97% consensus (another red flag/alarm bell: consensus is for politics, not science, especially science I’m told to be settled – 500 or so years ago, the consensus was that the sun revolved around the earth) were supposed to be Bell curves but they are all pretty much flat. Meaning that they don’t know what they’re talking about according to those charts, the temperature is as likely to raise 0.1 degrees as it is to raise 0.2, etc. Expectable from Byzantine computer models who can be tweaked to spit out pretty much anything one wants. Then there’s the uncertainty of climate feedback loops. And all the times the 97% were caught fabricating/lying about numbers.

We are about 200 years out from the time when our leaders — such as Jefferson and Adams — when informed by some Islam-addled poobah that Muslims had the right to rob any and all infidels which was why the Barbary pirates were making a floating combat zone out of the Mediterranean, instead of making excuses about how such behavior had “nothing to do with Islam”, sent the Navy over to deal decisively with the situation. In other words, they took the sanctimonious thugs at their word and acted accordingly. Had Beard and Smith been in charge we would still be paying ransom.

Robert Spencer, thanks for this report. Most of the “Norman Rockwell” America has been destroyed by the Hippie Radical (and their terrorist factions). The problems are not simply limited to politics as I see it. In industry all levels of management have the attitude reflected in the more general perspective that you should just go along to get along. The department you manage, or the public office you hold starts to drift off course (usually as a result of the leadership above your level). The expression N.O.M.W. (not on my watch) takes hold and rather than try and fix a problem or get things back on course, people just “go along to get along” and work only to keep the problem from blowing up on their watch. If they are able to do this, their quarterly and annual bonuses remain in tact. The blue collar men & women are told to just keep their “heads down” (do not become a target by standing up for anything) and “go along to get along”.
The people who are Constitutionalist (on the right? Perhaps.) believe in the value of our “Bill of Rights”. They willingly allow others to enjoy the Constitutional right to speak and be heard but the people in the Fascist Camp (the left? Certainly Communist and espousing Big Government with a Central Government) do not trust anyone with our Constitution. They demand an all powerful Central Government (often viewed as a nanny state). The “Nanny” part of “Nanny State” sounds harmless enough to those who still need a baby sitter, but in reality behind the mask it is a State controlled by a dictator (Dictators are often violent and murderous as they become suspicious of everyone and draw a lot of blood to keep their power; Hitler, Mayo, Stalin just naming three of the biggest). A cursory look at any and every Dictatorship will prove where the Nanny State is going. For a people to resist any infringing force, it seems that it must impact their lives far above their “comfort level”. Checking the History of the United States you will find that abuse of power was taking place as far back as the late 1740s AD. As the British Politicians continued to apply pressure to the American Colony’s (looting the wealth of the New World) it came to a head and the Revolutionary War erupted. The United States slide into the “Death of our Republic” (moving into an Imperialist New World Order) you can understand the obsession our Government has for disarmament of the second Amendment. The proverbial Hour is late, and still those who call out the warnings to the general public go unheeded. The usurpation of your Constitutional Right to be heard is all to common these days. Personally I think the World is in what is akin to stage four Cancer for any Republic still standing. In every Revolution you have a political faction and a military faction. The political faction may be identified by the “New World Order” activist and their military faction is the “Mohammedans”. They will be disposed of when they have established the Political Factions power to rule. What can we say? I can only encourage you to keep us informed. To what purpose I can not tell. How will any Republic escape this subversion?

So many good comments here! Great points.
That is the thing, it takes self sacrifice to keep a thing going.
And so few are willing to make it. It’s all about keeping the status quo to maintain their personal little kingdoms. No one is willing to stand up for what is right, and against what is wrong. And that’s exactly what happened just before the Holocaust. Everyone just laid low and kept rolling along and getting along and not making any waves. The Niemollers were few. So few, we know them by name mostly. It is no different today. The flags of compromise are foisted, the moment of decision has arrived. All the world will be tested. Most cower and salute the fuhrer. It is the few, brave, those with integrity of character, righteousness, unwavering and unflinching that are the heroes. They care about something bigger than themselves, than their families and personal survival and gain or suffering as a result of taking a stand. And thanks to folks like that, we have liberty today. We don’t live under a tyranny of some form or other. But it is when folks lose that virtue of self sacrifice, when they think only of selfishness and the safety of their own, that free society is in jeopardy, as it is today. We see no one with a backbone. It is rare. I am honored to contribute to the fight with you, come what may! (I have embraced my fate already anyway.)
So few realize how far gone it already is.
Again, it is better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

There are certainly scenarios where the best option is to play the other side’s game, and scenarios where the best option is not to play the other side’s game, let everyone know why you’re not playing it and, instead, offer an alternative (that’s how Trump won). There is no scenario where not playing the game while sitting on your thumbs and mumbling to yourself while letting the other side play unopposed is the best option. Nothing good can come of it.
Democrats, especially the increasingly “fringe” (how large, exactly, they need to be to be considered mainstream and not “fringe”) left, will call their opponents “racists”, “bigots”, “white supremacists”, etc., no matter what. There’s nothing to be gained by grovelling to them and asking what you need to do to have them stop calling you that. You’re their opponent, plain and simple, and nothing will make it stop – they need you as a caricature villain. Case in point, AOC in the Congressional hearing with Mark Zuckerberg. In a viral video, she asked him why Facebook partnered with the Daily Caller which, according to her, are “a publication well-documented with ties to white supremacists” and made them an official fact-checker for Facebook. Zuckerberg’s reply:
AOC’s response?
Zuckerberg’s reaction face was priceless… And that exchange, where AOC she either was unable to process the information she was given or simply ignored it and carried on pushing her agenda (or both), is being championed, by the “fringe” left, as her grilling Zuckerberg.
