Of course. No surprise here. The British authorities are too busy monitoring and restricting the activities of Tommy Robinson and his supporters to care about this. They have made their choice: they are determined to avoid offending Muslims and so do as little as they possibly can to impede jihad terror plotting. And they will reap the consequences of their choice: enabling and encouraging jihad will get them more jihad.
“Hate preacher Anjem Choudary’s banned terror group ‘has revived since he was released from jail last year and is holding meetings again,'” by Tom Kelly, Daily Mail, October 21, 2019 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Hate preacher Anjem Choudary is inspiring his network of extremists and poses a renewed terror threat a year after he left jail, an analysis by experts has warned.
The firebrand cleric’s release has reinvigorated his outlawed jihadist group al-Muhajiroun, they found.
The ‘unrepentant’ father of five is back in his family home in east London where he previously masterminded the Islamist extremist network which helped radicalise terrorists, including London Bridge attack ringleader Khuram Butt, and Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, who murdered soldier Lee Rigby.
Experts from the Counter Extremism Project (CEP) say the decision to give Choudary, 52, parole should be reviewed in light of the findings, which they say show he is a threat to national security.
A study by the non-governmental monitoring organisation says his extremist network is understood to have restarted meetings. ‘Choudary remains a dangerous and influential figure,’ it says.
It also shines new light on Choudary’s influence on outrages around the globe, profiling a network of 110 extremist individuals and 33 organisations associated with him. Of the 110 individuals, 18 successfully carried out terror attacks, 50 others attempted atrocities and 19 are – or attempted to become – Islamist fighters. Thirty-six are Islamist propagandists or recruiters.
Choudary was freed last October after serving under half of his five-and-a-half year sentence for inviting support for Islamic State.
The Daily Mail revealed at the time how he had become ‘hardened’ in jail and more determined than ever to spread his toxic Islamist propaganda. His militant views became ‘far more extreme and aggressive’ while locked up and he now regards himself as a ‘martyr’, according to those who met him in jail.
When released, Choudary was subject to strict licence conditions. Initially, he lived in a bail hostel but by May he was back at his family home, where he was pictured wearing an electronic tag on his right ankle.
Twelve months after he was freed, the CEP has assessed his current threat to national security. Researchers monitored the online channels extremists use to communicate with each other and as a propaganda tool to groom and radicalise recruits. The 40-page CEP dossier also cites information from concerned British officials and former members of al-Muhajiroun. Buoyed by Choudary’s release, supporters have now reportedly begun meeting again in London and Luton, where he regularly lectured before his arrest, it says.
The report states: ‘Former al-Muhajiroun members drew inspiration from Choudary’s release and started to revitalise the network, even though authorities continue to closely monitor Choudary’s movements and communications. Though Choudary remains under tight surveillance, his release inspired others to revive al-Muhajiroun.’…
Michael Copeland says
Memo to the Daily Mail:
” his toxic Islamist propaganda” is not “his”: it is Islam’s.
Choudary is not preaching anything that is not Islamic.
mortimer says
Exactly. The jihad doctrine is ‘ESSENTIAL’ in Islam (a basic teaching compulsory upon all Muslims).
PRCS says
Jihad is not a doctrine.
It is a component of the sharia.
Or Else! says
If anyone wants an education on Islam, tell them to pull up a Choudary clip. He has no misgivings when it comes to relating Muhammad’s/Islam’s “right” to hegemonic rule under Shari’ah. He’s one of today’s “grand viziers” of jihad.
But Tommy’s the problem….right…..
PRCS says
Too many folks, way too many, have bought into the ‘extremism’ line.
Of that crowd, how many would be able to define the point at which a Muslim’s compliance with Qur’an/sunna becomes extremism.
David says
Everyone should be educated about Islam, from a western perspective of course. The plain unaltered, unvarnished verses, straight from the Koran. This should be taught in schools. Just watch the muslims complain about that! Cards-on-the-table time! Let the people see that this is a threat to our civilisation, with no doubts.
Will this happen? Pigs might fly!
mortimer says
Response to ‘or else’: Anjem Choudary is Britain’s PIED PIPER of jihad.
Lotus says
This fanatic is a deeply unpleasant piece of work. Unfortunately, he was born in the UK and so has a British passport (his family is originally from Pakistan).
A few quotes give an idea of his mindset (taken from his Wikipedia page).
// For a true Muslim, a British passport is no more than a travel document.//
// As far as non-Muslims are concerned they have not accepted Islam and as far as we are concerned that is a crime against God. //
// Sharia has to be adopted wholesale, it will come either by embracing Islam because it is the fastest growing religion in the country, or by an Islamic country conquering Britain or by elements embracing Islam and imposing it. //
// As Muslims, we reject democracy, we reject secularism, and freedom, and human rights. We reject all of the things that you espouse as being ideals. There is nothing called a republic in Islam. When we talk about the shari’a, we are talking about only the shari’a. //
PRCS says
“This fanatic is a deeply unpleasant piece of work.”
A note:
He’s not a fanatic.
He’s one of ‘Allah’s’ most devout slaves.
Lotus says
I carefully distinguish between fanatic and extremist.
Fanatic = A person who is zealously enthusiastic for some cause, especially in religion.
Extremist = A person who holds extreme views, especially one who advocates such views.
As with most people on this site, I don’t use the word ‘extremist’ when talking about Muslims, because that wrongly implies that normative Islam is something moderate.
However, the degree of zeal and enthusiasm shown by Muslims for their religion does vary. Those who possess these qualities to a high degree can rightfully be called fanatics.
In other words, ‘extreme’ applies more to the religion. ‘Fanatic’ applies more to the person.
mortimer says
Thanks to Lotus. It is useful to consult the dictionary in a reasonable discussion. Choudary is one who goes to the ‘ROOTS’ of the Islamic movement for his inspiration, so Choudary is a ‘RADICAL’ … or more precisely… an Islamic FOUNDATIONALIST. Choudary believes in the ‘EARLIEST’ form of Islam (‘primitive Islam’ or ‘primal Islam’) from the period of the FIRST THREE GENERATIONS of Islam. That is what WAHHABISM was intended to be.
Choudary is also a FUNDAMENTALIST Muslim who goes to the ‘fundament’ of Islam.
PRCS says
While the degree of zeal and enthusiasm shown by Muslims for their religion does indeed vary, from the Islamic perspective, Choudary is neither a fanatic nor an extremist. He’s a literalist.
*Fanatic: a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, especially for an extreme religious or political cause.
Per its texts, Islam’s goal of world domination is a core concept, not an extreme cause.
*Extremist: a person who holds extreme or fanatical political or religious views, especially one who resorts to or advocates extreme action.
Those Muslims who do attempt to comply with Qur’an/sunna–to the best of their ability–are not extrextreme/fanatical religious views: from their perspective.
Nor is Choudary a ‘radical’. In everyday language, a radical is someone who has very extreme views. Choudary’s religious/political views are neither extreme nor fanatical. They represent straight up Islam.
Antiislamicman says
His terror group never went away.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
Is he on the dole? Does he receive a housing allowance? Are his five children all living with him in a nice big house where they can all live comfortably, and pool their unemployment benefits? That’s all worth investigating, because nothing maddens the public more than learning of the amounts such people manage to receive from the government, while they continue to spread their poison
mortimer says
Anyone living in his home should be wearing a gps ‘bracelet’ so that all their movements are known to Scotland Yard. Choudary is a revolutionary.
Ray Jarman says
As I keep espousing, sharia is nothing less than sedition and anyone adhering and espousing it should be imprisoned for actually committing acts against the state or advocating and recruiting a force to embattle the state. Sharia is war against humanity.
mortimer says
Response to RJ: Sharia law is discriminatory towards women and ‘others’.
Andrew E Walker says
Indeed it is sedition, which was formerly a crime in the UK. However, sedition and seditious libel (as common law offences) were abolished by section 73 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (with effect on 12 January 2010. Cui bono? It is no longer an offence for Muslims to hold public marches with placards sayin Sharia law the solution for UK. Indeed, they will earn a police escort so that they may carry out such acts of (former) sedition unhindered by the law. That is a retrograde step.
PRCS says
Ray J.
The sharia is the embodiment of Islamic law. it defines/limits/controls EVERY aspect of a Muslim’s life.
Toilet etiquette included.
Wiping with one’s left hand is not a seditious act.
Of course, many aspects of the sharia are–if not actually, seditious–incompatible with the U.S. law.
And those should be pointed out at every opportunity.
David says
In this day and age, an ankle bracelet could easily be fitted with a listening device to transmit covertly all conversations to the authorities. One can only imagine whether the authorities would find this useful. The security services are at odds with the government policy, clearly. They advise about terror threats, and that is as far as they can go.
Let Choudary make his public announcements, and make sure they are well publicised. Give him enough rope, and he can go hang himself.
PRCS says
Good idea!
I do wonder, though, if that’s not already being done.
Save Europe says
YES, he is. He called welfare/benefits to people like him, as part of the Jizya Tax.
He also called benefits – the Jihad Seekers Allowance.
PRCS says
Yes, he did!
gravenimage says
Choudary certainly was on the dole for many years, and as Save Europe notes, urged all Muslims to take such Jizya. I don’t know if he is still on welfare today–hard to believe he is not. Britain should cut him off and put him back in prison.
David says
Surely you don’t think he has a paid job? He does not need to work. He should be deported as a threat to National Security. Surely that is a good enough reason?
When we tell people to go back where they came from, we mean their ‘roots’. The fact they were born here is irrelevant. Try the ‘Cricket test’! (look it up)
Save Europe says
Indeed. He wouldn’t pass Norman Ten it’s Cricket Test.
Save Europe says
Autocorrect error
Norman Tebbit.
mortimer says
Rather than deprogram Anjem Choudary while imprisoned, the UK authorities continued to believe that “Islam is benign” and that JIHAD IS NOT ISLAMIC.
All of Islamic history shows that Islam is totalitarian, supremacist, misogynistic and conspiratorial by nature. Anyone who cannot see that has likely not done the required reading list and has used the wrong glasses. They have cooked the result of any reading they might have done on the subject.
Islam is bad news for the kafir.
gravenimage says
Mortimer, do you really think that you can “deprogram” *Anjem Choudary*? What has led you to believe that he would listen to the ‘filthy Infidels’, or that he would be upset to learn that Islam is violent? Don;t you think that ht already knows that Islam is violent, and approves?
James Lincoln says
mortimer,
If someone like Anjem Choudary, a very unwilling participant, could actually be deprogrammed out of Islam it would give a lot more credence to your deprogramming initiative…
SB says
IT’S BACK. Ever notice the smug looks of IT, Omar, and Linda Sarsour the cockroach?
Angemon says
And yet, they have nothing on him. Somehow. A shame he only influences muslims to murder infidels – perhaps if he were to voice his opposition, on Twitter, to islamic terrorism, law enforcement would do something…
David says
Angemon, you would not seriously believe his ‘voice of opposition’? Like when MPs and world leaders say Islam has nothing to do with terrorism, for example. Islam is a ‘religion of peace’ (with a little {camel}pee)
Angemon says
I was pointing out how different is the treatment of the likes of Choudary and those who oppose him – he has a vast network of confirmed “radicalized” muslims and is walking the streets while people risk being arrested for opposing what he stands for:

FYI says
An islamic meeting.
Yes ,we know quite a bit about islamic “prayers” and “meetings”.
Love,Tolerance,Understanding, respect for others{especially for ex-muslims “apostates”,Jews, those polytheistic Christians,Atheists}:well, none of those ‘infidel’ concepts OBVIOUSLY..will be present.
The contrived false piety, the koranically-inspired permission to hate and do all kinds of wicked mischief whilst hiding behind a mask of religious devotion.
“prayers” to al lah,the pagan arab god of the muslims,the god who gets everything wrong in his “perfect” book{The book of much incongruity it should be subtitled},the devout following of muhammed,islam’s prophet{who failed the test of a prophet,didn’t die in battle,was killed by a woman who outsmarted him and who had a FLYING HORSE that nobody saw}
An islamic meeting.
“prayers” to a god whose ‘holy book is no more the word of God than a fashion catalogue.
TKF says
He’s a typical Muslim….. crazy as a room of baboons.
David says
TKF Not fair to baboons!
Barb says
Anjem Choudary and his terror network should be expelled from Britain immediately and all rights to Citizenship revoked!
Anjem Choudary’s allegiance is to Islam and Allah – he is an enemy of Britain as stated by British intelligence!
Wellington says
Chowderhead is a very good Muslim which means he is a rotten human being and an enemy of liberty.
James Lincoln says
Wellington,
You are correct. From an Islamic point of view, he is a perfect Muslim…

UK: Muslim cleric’s banned jihad terror group has revived and is holding meetings again
…………………
This is why British authorities didn’t find out about this earlier:

We have a lot of abandoned coal mines in the UK, I’m sure some of them could be converted to holding facilities for scum like Choudary and his ilk?
jca reid. says
It was one of Choudary’s followers – well, one of his sheep – totally dead from the neck up, that murdered that British Army Musician in London a few years back. There are clips on the Internet of this fella demanding, “Where/when are going to get our War Booty?” This means all the loot , slaves, & sex slaves. The Koran says it’s a “God given Right”, to do this. They cannot get this in their own countries, unless they move to sub-Saharan Africa, so in the West it is only available from attacking non-Muslims. That is why they come here. Our “Leaders” are spineless & gutless in dealing with this, but they will be swept away, along with this rabid, feral scum!
