“British men.” Bowler hats, no doubt. Jolly good, but they may miss being able to tuck into a plate of bangers and mash. Are they gutted at this development, or chuffed at getting out of Syria?
In any case, these men may have grown up in Britain, but living in a garage doesn’t make you an automobile. As Islamic State jihadis, they joined an entity that declared itself superior to and above all national allegiances, and deserving the allegiance of all Muslims worldwide, superseding and overriding their national identity. But the Washington Post won’t tell you that, because it doesn’t fit their narrative.
“U.S. military taking custody of two British men accused of involvement in Islamic State killings of American hostages,” by Ellen Nakashima, Souad Mekhennet, Rachel Weiner and Missy Ryan, Washington Post, October 8, 2019:
The U.S. military is taking custody of several dozen high-value Islamic State detainees, including two British men accused of involvement in the militant group’s summary executions of American and other Western hostages. The action is designed to prevent their escape or release from camps in Syria, where they have been guarded by Kurdish forces now under threat from Turkey’s incursion, according to U.S. officials….

It is the same thing as saying “the Asian men” did this or that. The word “muslims” are avoided as much as possible.Muslims are the protected elite.

They probably *do* talk that way, but they’re still murdering terrorist scum. We should start hanging these prisoners, instead of maintaining them indefinitely in the health club at Guantanamo.

Moslems, as we used to call them in English for centuries and still do chez moi.
Mark Accardi says
These people must be tried in military court for treason. All terrorist murders committed in America by muslims should be prosecuted in military court, thus, the war on terrorism. This should include the financial supporters to them.
Ray Jarman says
Bring them to the US and give a jury a day to try, a day for the judge to announce the death sentence and execute each of them the next day. They are murderers and the rule of law should not even be considered for those that have proven to be nothing more than sub-human ravenous creatures from hell.
Infidel says
You bring them to the US, the ACLU, SPLC and other woke organizations will put together a jury that will acquit, much less do any of the things you mentioned
What I don’t get is – why have they been kept captive? After they were captured, they should have been put in a bombing range and US missiles should have just taken them out. What’s this insanity about reading them their miranda rights?
Mark Accardi says
This should be, and is, a military matter. Let them have them, lots of intel there.

Read the story: Kotey and Elsheikh – 2 names that are as British as Barrington, Hunter, Johnson, Smith, McKinnon, Gwennap and so many others
I mean, doesn’t the standard Englishman, Scotsman or Welshman greet you every day w/ ‘Asalamalaiqum’ or ‘Allahu Akbar’ or whatever? And didn’t someone named Pickthall write the Qur’an?
James says
When neo-Nazis attacks Jews in Europe, that is what they are called they do not use a euphemism and call them “youths”, deranged persons”, “persons with a migration background”, “Bavarian men” or “possible drug addicts” or some other term that might make them less threatening or more like just anyone.. But when it is an Islamist, then the words Muslim or Islamist are not used and somehow it seems as though just any .British person of any persuasion could have done it. Is this Islamist privilege? Islamophilia? A sparing of Muslim feelings so that there will be no effort to limit Muslim privileges or immigration? Or what?

Or being born in one, even if your parents and grandparents were also born in a garage…
Dawne says
These people are not “British” citizens and not British in any sense of the word. Unfortunately we have a lot of asylum seekers and immigrants who are in Britain to milk the system and who support Islamic terrorism.
It’s great that the US is taking custody of them because the US will impose a suitable term of imprisonment on them (US readers may not credit this but its true), whereas if they came to Britain we are hamstrung by the idiotic Human Rights Act and they’d be let off with a smack on the wrist and told not to do it again.
