In a sudden switch, after a decade of voting for Israel, Canada under Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party has just voted in support of a “pro-Palestine” UN resolution which was sponsored by the State of Palestine, North Korea, Egypt, Nicaragua, and Zimbabwe. The Resolution calls for a “just, lasting and comprehensive peace settlement” to the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and explicitly refers to contested lands between the two countries as “Occupied Palestinian Territories.”
Resolution A/C.3/74/L.58 urges the international community to “support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination.” The Resolution is antisemitic and serves the jihadist cause against Israel. It is the Palestinians who have rejected a Jewish state to begin with. It is a well-established fact that Israel has been fighting for its existence since its creation in 1948. To justify and strengthen the Palestinian resistance to “free Palestine” from “the River to the Sea” is, in other words, aiding in efforts to delegitimize and obliterate Israel altogether.
Take note of Egypt. Its endorsement of the Resolution is disappointing, as the country is often hailed because of its supposedly reformist President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who is noted for his stand against the Muslim Brotherhood. Yet three years ago, in an exclusive Breitbart report, it was announced that Egypt was strengthening ties with Hamas, a Muslim Brotherhood offshoot. Then when the Islamic State stepped up its attacks on Christians in Egypt, causing a renewed exodus which “intensified fears for the future for Christianity in the Middle East,” there was no action from Sisi. Amid an aggressive jihadist insurgency in Egypt, the Sisi regime instead expanded its Islamic identity with a hardline approach that saw it crack down on musicians, atheists and gays. All the while, Christians continue to be massacred. As all this is going on, in Ontario, Bill 106 has been submitted by Member of Provincial Parliament Sheref Sabawy to recognize the month of July as Egyptian Heritage Month.
Canada’s vote against the state of Israel should come as no surprise, but it does to many who could not imagine that the Trudeau government would adopt such a stance. There is much news that has gone unnoticed or ignored which pointed to the real possibility that Canada was headed in a worrying direction. A few examples:
- Canada has embraced anti-Islamophobia motion M-103, introduced by MP Iqra Khalid, a woman who associates herself with the jihad-linked Palestine House, and who embraced and participated in “Land Day.” “Land Day” symbolizes the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) determination to “liberate Palestine” by wiping Israel off the map. Khalid is also the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Muslim Student Association of York University in Toronto. M-103 was followed up by a 23-million-dollar document to “take action” against Islamophobia.
- Two years ago, Trudeau also called for an independent investigation into Israel’s “excessive force” against civilians in Gaza. At that time, 300 academics signed an anti-Israel open letter to Trudeau about Gaza, which two Liberal MPs — Robert-Falcon Ouellette and Marwan Tabbara — hand-delivered to Trudeau.
- Also in Canada, convicted jihadists with dual citizenship will be welcomed back, since the Trudeau government reversed the former Conservative government decision to revoke the dual citizenship to those who had been convicted of terrorism.
- A Halifax Israeli Arab who helped intelligence services track Islamic State supporters is being deported, while the Islamic State jihadis are not.
- Trudeau was also initially silent about the jihad attack in Israel against a Canadian citizen, Amichai Ish-Ran, who was originally from Montreal. He was shot five times as a Palestinian jihadist opened fire on Israeli civilians in a drive-by. His wife Shira, “who was 30 weeks pregnant, was also shot, in the abdomen.” Shira and Amichai’s baby boy was delivered by emergency C-section, but the infant didn’t make it.
- In May of last year, Palestinians thanked the Trudeau government for rejecting the US embassy move to Jerusalem.
- The Trudeau government has omitted all references to “Islamist extremism,” which the Palestinian “resistance” is ruled by. As expressed in the charters of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, the Palestinian Authority, Fatah, and Hamas, the aim is to obliterate Israel.
The Hamas Covenant states in Article 1 and 2:
Article One:
The Islamic Resistance Movement: The Movement’s programme is Islam. From it, it draws its ideas, ways of thinking and understanding of the universe, life and man. It resorts to it for judgement in all its conduct, and it is inspired by it for guidance of its steps.Article Two:
The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine. Moslem Brotherhood Movement is a universal organization which constitutes the largest Islamic movement in modern times. It is characterised by its deep understanding, accurate comprehension and its complete embrace of all Islamic concepts of all aspects of life, culture, creed, politics, economics, education, society, justice and judgement, the spreading of Islam, education, art, information, science of the occult and conversion to Islam.
Included in the UN Resolution “The right of the Palestinian people to self-determination” is…..
Stressing the urgency of achieving without delay an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967 and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace settlement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, based on the relevant resolutions of the United Nations, the Madrid terms of reference, including the principle of land for peace, the Arab Peace Initiative and the Quartet road map to a permanent two-State solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Nimrod Barkan, Israel’s ambassador to Canada, told the Globe and Mail newspaper “that his country intends to lodge a formal protest after Canada joined 165 other countries by voting Yes” to the anti-Israel Resolution.
Barkan continued:
It was a surprise … we had no inclination or hint that Canada would change its vote on the regular annual UN resolutions and we trusted Canada, knowing that this is a circus of anti-Israeli resolutions.
“We trusted Canada”? Not prudent under the leadership of Justin Trudeau.
The head of the Geneva-based watchdog UN Watch, Hillel Neuer, has been clearly observing trends in Canada. He stated:
The foreign ministry bureaucrats are more pro-Palestinian….Canadian diplomats want to join their European colleagues who routinely support General Assembly resolutions critical of Israel.. In addition — and this is important — the same establishment is vying for a UN Security Council seat, and it’s understood that you win this prize by bribing Arab and Muslim nations with votes against Israel.
The reaction from the Canadian Jewish Community has been one of disappointment and surprise. Among those speaking out was the Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), which accused Justin Trudeau of “joining with the anti-Israel chorus at the UN.” B’nai Brith, meanwhile, issued this statement:
In our view, the core of the conflict remains the refusal by Palestinian leaders and their supporters to recognize the Jewish People’s indigenous ties to the Land of Israel. This is what the UN — and Canada — should be condemning….We call on Canada and the rest of the international community to press the Palestinian Authority to return to the negotiating table, and to stop harmful practices such as rewarding terrorists and their families.
Negotiating with jihad terrorists does not work, and history has proven it repeatedly, despite false hopes. The international community must demand that the Palestinian “pay for slay” program be ended, that all reference to obliterating Israel be removed from the charters of various Palestinian entities, and that Israel be recognized as a Jewish state with the right to defend itself. The two-state solution came and went under the League of Nations and the British partition plan (which favored the Palestinians). Since then, the only option that the Palestinian leadership finds acceptable is indeed to “free Palestine…from the River to the Sea.”
“After 10 years of voting for Israel, Canada supports pro-Palestine UN resolution,” MEMRI, November 20, 2019:
The Trudeau government yesterday backed a resolution to support the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people adopted by the UN General Assembly during a session of the Third Committee.
The resolution was put forward by the State of Palestine, North Korea, Zimbabwe and others and calls for a “just, lasting and comprehensive peace settlement” to the Israel-Palestine conflict, and explicitly refers to contested lands between the two countries as “Occupied Palestinian Territories.”
The vote comes after the US’ announcement that it no longer considers Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem as illegal, reversing decades of US foreign policy.
Yesterday’s resolution entitled “The right of the Palestinian people to self-determination” was opposed by Israel, the US and five Pacific island nations: the Marshall Islands, Nauru and the Federated States of Micronesia.
A total of 164 countries voted in favour, including the UK and Germany.
A spokesperson for the Canadian Foreign Ministry Krystyna Dodd told the Israeli Times: “Canada is committed to the goal of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East, including the creation of a Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel.”
“At a time when it is increasingly under threat, it is important for Canada to underscore our firm commitment to a two-state solution.”
Timmins-James Bay NDP Member of Parliament Charlie Angus supported the move and congratulated Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for recognising the rights of Palestinians by opposing the illegal settlements.
Canada has regularly voting against or abstained on resolutions that support Palestinians, including resolutions on Palestinian self-determination, sovereignty over natural resources and the illegality of Israeli settlements.
In November last year, Canada joined a tiny minority of states, including Israel, the US, Australia and the Marshall Islands to vote “no” against a UN General Assembly (UNGA) resolution titled, “Peaceful Settlement on the Question of Palestine.”
Pro-Israel groups expressed disappointment towards Canada’s new manoeuvre claiming it was a betrayal of more than ten years of strong support…..

As a sincere and devoted supporter of Israel, the only real peace will be achieved when Israel no longer exists, and all Jews are gone. Until then, there will be no peace. Israel has survived 3700 years of various levels of war. It can survive and prosper through this war too. If for no other reason read The Book, not once but 3 times 3, “I will make of you a great nation and a blessing to all other nations.” That promise is forever.

Frank…This post is on the late side so I hope you see it. At YORK UNIVERSITY, (the place from whence Trudeau’s core gang one day mysteriously sprouted), there were protests against a Nov. 20th discussion with five IDF reservists (arranged by Lauren Isaacs, head of Herut). Numerous anti-Israel BDS hate groups on campus aimed a vicious fuss against the speakers and thus really exposed themselves – there were even calls of ‘BACK TO THE OVENS’. (I wonder how horrified Trudeau would be if he could only guess!!)
Media Action Group sent out an email about this yesterday (the 25th) and they’re urging people to write the President of YORK U and they have advice and links to help with this.

Today Rebel Media has put out a video about it titled:

Carol I have had the great honor and pleasure of recording and talking with a number of IDF “graduates” who came to our local community for a year after completing their service. Regardless of the problems the local community has accepting the wishes islam has for Jews, I respect and admire these men and women who put their lives on the line to protect their homes and country. I have no use for anyone who feels or acts differently. 75 percent of US Jews do not want to offend muslims by knowing and facing the truth. Any who disagree are expelled, as I was. I have been amazed twice by the furious response by 2 Rabbis when asked about “the religion of peace”. With that response from the best educated, most informed members of the community most hated and threatened, what should we expect from those who are temporarily on the sidelines (who probably don’t care for Jews anyway)? I love Judaism and treasure what I learned from it.

Nice of you to reply, Frank. I see today B’nai Brith has also put out a petition. It’s like everyone has gone out of their senses on all kinds of subjects. As a female I’m very pleased lately to discover there are voices like those of non-screeching women like Megan Murphy and Posie Parker. The attack against womanhood is more insidious than the attacks against Jews but Posie Parker in particular addresses it all head on. The tide always turns but the silent majority really needs to speak up.

From what I am reading, the time is long passed. But most US Jews I know are equally clueless. Sad to watch a repeat of history.

It serves no one but Islam if everyone flees instead of standing our ground. Every corner of the world is owned. Where should everyone flee to? We are running out of places so it is better to reverse the trend and combat POLITICAL CORRECTNESS with law enforcers staring down these troublemakers who cry no-go-zones and finally back up our constitutions and its true citizens.
Frank Anderson says
Ewanda, there are at least 3 sides to every story including this one. You could be correct. I think of the utterly useless, hopeless, self-destructive stand taken by Jews in Nazi Germany who made no effort to get out. Half of them “got the message” and tried. The other half followed your thought and took a stand. When a society is determined to destroy itself, it must first destroy those who would stop the destruction. I have heard and recorded many, possibly dozens, Holocaust Survivors and studied this issue most of my life. The Nazis have risen again in company with their muslim allies, under many different pseudonyms, to continue their campaign for slavery and death. They do not deserve your sacrifice. The God of Life and Freedom wants us to live.
Ewanda says
It is said that the Optimistic Jews went to the death camps and the pessimistic ones went to California.
Do you not think that the Constitutions of Canada and the United States are strong enough and clear enough to stand up to the lies that Islam throws when we compare their backward Ideology to ours?
Is there no hope that we have garnered enough science and facts and civilized behaviour to discredit their system after 1400 years? Is it true by my studies that he who will use the gun (or the machete) makes the rules because no one wants their death to be meaningless?
Frank Anderson says
Ewanda, the Canadian Constitution is what Parliament says it is today. It can change on a whim. Look at the various measures adopted recently (M-103) that take away the right of free speech. The US Constitution is written and generally very hard to change. There is some reason to hope for security and stability of rights. When voters can flood Parliament with people like Trudeau, they will follow his lead into selling out Canadians to Globalist and Islamic interests. They seem to be doing well so far.
william carr says
You are, probably due to ignorance, being grossly unfair to the Jews of Germany in the 30’s. many did leave but the Nazis placed strict economic sanctions on those who wished to leave, like giving up businesses they had built up in their lifetimes; selling their property at knock down prices etc. The ones who stayed were mostly those without financial means to leave, plus there was the plain brutal fact that many countries would not receive them. That included the USA to its everlasting shame.
Some indeed believed that one the Nazis gained office Hitler would soften his attitude towards them. Some remained mostly war veterans and married to non Jews. (See The Diaries of Victor Klempeer: Two Volumes which everybody should read)and lived to tell the tale.
So read a bit of history before you criticise things you have apparently no knowledge of
Frank Anderson says
Mr. Carr, your ignorance of my experience, reading, education and contacts with Holocaust Survivors is showing. My first reading started almost 60 years ago in military school and has continued. I do not condemn people who have already paid the price of their failure to see what was before them from the first public speech made by Adolf Hitler in August, 1920 and continued through every speech, writing and action until after he died, and through his followers and copiers to present. They paid a price that we should not repeat. That should be the reason for the many Holocaust Remembrance services held in Jewish congregations. But for some reason the lesson seems to be lost. You can make excuses and distract from the present, or you can face the present while there is time for some action. Having spoken with several survivors who lived through denials that killed most of their families, I know what I write about. Do you?

Canadian Jewry largely mesmerized by the Trudeau name has betrayed itself again by supporting the incompetent and amoral globalist Jihadi Justin who is a mere clown puppet. The Libjihad Party of Canada is in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood. How the Islamists must laugh at how easy this was. They even got Obama to interfere in the Canadian election. It isn’t election tampering when the RED-GREEN AXIS does it.
Westman says
Trudeau and his Islam sycophants just voted for WWIII just to suck up to a faraway economic gang. And Egypt turning back to hostilities with Israel like a dog to its vomit? Has every nation’s “leaders” gone mad, abandoning their duty to serve their own people, dashing off to join the fray of Global “Justice” warriors?
Iran’s Mullahs must be salivating for this opening to increase terrorism against Israel and provoke a war before Iran’s citizens can overthrow the regime. Nothing serves to eliminate the political opposition like putting them at the front of a war.
Peter Dale says
The current government desperately wants to be elected to a seat on the Security Council. The Arab states are the single largest voting bloc in the UN. The Canadian government needs their votes to be elected to this post. There is no mystery to what happened. And remember, in 2015, the dear leader said that Canada was the world’s first post-modern nation; that it had no core values. And as we see, he meant it.
Ewanda says
post-modern STATE ….. The entire United Nations Manifesto that Trudeau signed never used the word NATION. All participants were called STATES throughout it. That’s why NATION-alism is being disparaged and put down. …. a very dangerous look into the future for Canada. Trudeau declared that Canada has no core IDENTITY. Maybe Dauphin Trudeau should step off his pedestal and walk with us lowly commoners. We definitely have distinct core values that make us Canadians.
No FGM, women are persons, no child marriages, no polygamy, stealing is wrong, all deserve to be educated, can freely travel without male accompaniment, no honour killing, the world is round, can use toilet paper not pebbles, a good healthcare system without camel urine, an attempt at humane animal treatment rather than Halal installment, we love our pets including black dogs, handicapped persons are welcome everywhere with their service animals, we like our artists, singers, musical instruments and orchestras, …….. amid LOTS more etceteras. Plus we’re SORRY to disagree with Trudeau’s NATIONMENT.
Dean says
I hope that Trudeau reads your informative article, Christine, but I doubt that it makes a difference to a leader and a government that prides itself on supporting the most radical jihadists and their causes.
As Islamist and antifa violence erupts the other day (against a visiting Israeli speaker and the Jewish students and all students who wished to attend) at York University, a place where they have had a giant mural in their student center for many years showing a terrorist with rocks hidden in his hands behind his back ready to kill down Jews, you remind us that it was, “Iqra Khalidis also the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Muslim Student Association of York University in Toronto” responsible for initiating M-103 Islamophobia legislation – the initiators of jihadist violence see fit to protect themselves against anyone pointing out the actual source of jihadist violence.
So jihad in Canada has expanded from the gown (halls of learning) to the town (government). This is done with knowledge of donors and leftists all over who would rather see no evil – hear no evil – speak no evil – for fear of being cruelly labelled by the leftist community for infractions on their rules of identity politics.
Infidel says
Commenting on the Sisi angle of this story, I have even less faith in him than I do in MbS in Saudi Arabia. He’s consistently proven powerless to crack down on Jihadists either in the Sinai or in Egypt proper, as the crackdown on gays, musicians and so on shows. Also, Egypt’s people are as Pakistans: during the soccer world cup in Russia, their players made it a point to demonstrate their Islamic fealty – something even the Saudis didn’t do.
I think the era of Egypt-Israel peace started by Sadat is heading for an end. It may have been given a kneejerk shock by Morsi, but these events of Cairo’s links to Hamas point at a future conflict where Israel would have to re-retake the Sinai. And if they do, I hope it goes the way of the Golan.
Infidel says
should have read ‘Egypt’s people are as Islamic as Pakistanis’.
gravenimage says
Infidel, I don’t think Al Sisi much wants to crack down on Jihadists.
Infidel says
I’ve seen otherwise anti-Islamic YT posters show speeches of him at Al Azhar University asking whether Muslims are gonna wage Jihad throughout their lives, as evidence that he’s moderate. Regardless of whether he actually is or not, fact remains that most of his countrymen are pretty fanatical in their own right. Not to forget – this is the country where the Muslim Brotherhood was born, and which started 3 wars against Israel (not sure about 1956). I’m not sure that Egypt is eternally destined never to fight Israel (and I don’t believe that about Jordan either)
gravenimage says
True, Infidel. The only good thing I can really say about Al Sisi is that he is not as bad as was Morsi–damning with faint praise, certainly.

The Trudeau government is devoid of intelligence and is simply jumping on the “support Palestine” bandwagon the is strong in the east of Canada and universities. Trudeau is doing this for the votes he can gain and will need in an election that will be upon us sooner rather than later.
Today I sent this to Trudeau
“What a disappointing decision Canada made in letting down Israel – and Jewish Canadians – in its recent UN vote.
With one vote, the Government of Canada has undermined both an important commitment and an important principle. The longstanding Canadian policy to oppose these motions was continued under your government until this vote. The resolution that Canada supported is particularly concerning as it includes language the prejudges the outcome of negotiations by the two parties to the conflict.
Our faith in you has been shaken and we hope that you will reflect on our concerns.“

*Disgusting*. Trudeau is worse all the time.
James says
I have heard that Trudeau’s government could be over in about two years, since he only has a coalition, and nationalisim-populism is growing in Canada. Perhaps a conservative government will reverse his course. I think the Jihadi movement is hard to defeat because it is international. The Nazis and Japan were both confined largely to one small country, and these countries were very heavily destroyed, which convinced the inhabitants that they had lost and could not win ever. But that cannot happen with Islam as an international movement. So I cannot say when that will change. Perhaps when it becomes clear that it cannot take over Western countries. But so far it seems that it is doing that.

Just as slavery was America’s biggest mistake (because consequences) expelling the Jews from Zion was Rome’s (for similar reasons).
Frank Anderson says
Uncle, In Jews, God and History, by Rabbi Max Dimont, there is a description of Roman violence in Israel including estimates of the number of Jews crucified and otherwise murdered in the 3 wars at about 2 million. The scattering (Diaspora) of Jews had little consequences to the Romans, who used them for centuries as the “evil other” and prompted the Holocaust through blaming Jews for the Roman killing of Jesus. Of all the people conquered and enslaved by Rome, only the Jews fought for their freedom 3 times.
